To a Chorus of rapturous cheers today, the Prime Minister, Alan Brookes, flanked by members of all leading parties, as well as people from Northfordian Interest groups, announced to a large crowd the signing of the Praeton-Northford Relations Act. He kept his announcement short, and, unusually sweet.
“Gentlemen, there is not much to say. This has been planned for sometime, and will not significantly change Northford, short of increasing competition, lowering prices, and forcing Business to become more efficient. While the media attention may focus on other… areas… let it be reminded safeguards are in place, and can be used should the situation need it”.
Despite this reassurance, the Government has not yet released what there provisions are, if they do indeed exist.

Praeton-Northford Relations Act 2006
Relating to the interactions between Praetonian and Northfordian Citizens
Where ‘Praetonia’ refers to Citizens of the ‘Crown Commonwealth of Praetonia’, and ‘Northford’ relates to the Citizens of the ‘Commonwealth of Northford’, and whereby Citizen is a natural persons who, upon the age of request of admittance to respective countries holds a passport of their homeland, and has been a citizen for 5 Years.
‘Relations’ in the context of this act relate to the interactions between the people and government of Praetonia and Commonwealth, with each other, and where other parties are concerned, should it encroach on the Northford-Praetonia, Praetonia-Northford interactions.
This act will come into effect at the end of the eleventh month of the year two thousand and sixth of our existence, and will end when it is terminated by either party, or by mutual consent, or is amended by mutual consent.
This act has four points:
*Increase trade infrastructure between Northford and Praetonia
*Increase joint diplomatic efforts to remove trade barriers in the world
*Improve working military relationship to rid the waterways of piracy along the Praeton-Northford shipping lines.
*Establish a legal basis for mediation between our two countries, should a diplomatic event occur.
Point One:
The Aim of this point is to increase the diversity of the trading links between the two countries, in an aim to strengthen both of our respective economies.
This will be achieved through the formation of the ‘Praeton-Northford Economic Council’, which is to discuss matters of joint national interest and advice the governments of their home nations the effect any decisions taken on matters of course that will enhance the trade infrastructure between Northford and Praetonia. This board will consist of twelve members, with six members each from each country.
Point Two:
The Aim of this point is to increase joint diplomatic efforts to remove trade barriers in the world.
This will be achieved through a Free Market Mission, with two HQ’s, based in Richmond, Northford, and Praetonia, respectively, with the ability to advise and recommend courses for action to the governments of Northford and Praetonia. The mission will consist of twelve members, with six members each from each country.
Point Three
The aim of this point is to increase military co-operation on the Northfordian-Praetonian Trade route.
This will be achieved through the mediation of the Joint Economic channel which will address requests for military aid from each nation to the other where needed, such as a Northfordian request for pirates operating out of Praetonian waters, or visa versa. Also, to the disposal to the Council are the ‘Discovered Island’ Chain*, a series of islands approximately 200nm off the Northfordian Coast, and presently operated as a refuelling depot for patrolling frigates.
Point Four:
The aim of this point is to establish a legal framework to allow mediation of conflicts, with a goal to aid Northfordian-Praetonian relations, and help to ensure that peace is maintained.
A Joint Council of legal personnel will manage this legal framework, and will consist of 12 members, 6 from each company. A time scale for the implementation of this framework is not specified, however, it is expected that both parties work with haste.
Misc. Persons are allowed to be members of more than one council at a time
