Botched arrest attempt of Griffencrest
Beachead
Approxamatly 180,000 Hurtian troops started marching forward, towards the airstrip.

ETA: 1 day

Airstrip:
Roughly 20,000 troops continued to take in supplies at a rate of 200,000 men per day per airstrip.

The men started constructing 3 more airstrips, and a control center.

New Roanoke Island airbase
Was a com[plete mess, never before had the base been host to so many troops, and with the Griffencrest airbase within 30 miles, was easily noticed by the Corprate alliance.

"Mail call!"

"Another mail delivery for James O'Brian (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11580924&postcount=18), looks like someone likes you back home..."
The envelope had the smell of perfume on it, nice trick, and sealed with a kiss...
James found someplace private to read his letter.

Shortly afterwards, he gathered his closest friends to have an 'evening meeting regarding the security of the boss's airbase', as they did every so often.

He seemed a little more tense and excited this time, perhaps something he read?

The envelope had the mark <OXOXOXO> on the return address, the letter was a usual love letter, the stamp was missing.

Secret IC
Later: Hurtian/Blackhelm embassy
A simple message came through, but the bottom line came out wrong, apparently due to a faulty printer head or poor wiring, as it didn't appear on his monitor, but stood out clear as day on the printed paper.

As one of the Temps was about to throw it out, a senoir diplomat saw it, snatched it, and scolded the temp for not giving it to him sooner, he needed it 5 minutes ago for an unschedualed meeting on foriegn affairs, nevermind the minor typo, he'll read around it.

The typo was: <<OXOXOXO>>

The temp went back to repairing the printer.

Hurtian Embassy Blackhelm Confederacy
A diplomat picked up a phone, and dialed Claudius Griffencrest.

"Hello, Mr. Griffencrest? I know you aren't really the leader of Blackhelm, but I believe it is important to tell you this, within 48 hours from now an attempt might be made on your life, see me tomarrow for further details, as it was our duty as members of the Corprate Alliance to see to it that such an event would never happen. Yes, I'll hold...."

A few minutes later he is off of hold and talks to a real person, and explains once again that Griffencrest's life is in imminant danger. Meanwhile a security detail is preparing themselves to meet Griffencrest personally to escort him for the week.

He is put on hold again...

Finally he gets to talk to Griffencrest...

"Something big is going to happen in the next 48 hous, your life is in danger, and an all out frontal assault on 3 fronts shall commence within seconds of each other. Yes, I know this because of GASN and ADAN contacts, I found a bit of their code on the bottom of a sheet of paper. I didn't get much, but it is really big, and will happen soon, since they bumped it ahead 5 days, they only do that for operations within a week of their original deadline. Don't trust anybody, as they could be privately hired assasins merely trying to get you alone so they can slit your ......"

The line went dead...

He turns to the guards:
"Move it men, as far as we know he could be dead already, move, move move! Dangit, MOVE already!"

They ran down the stairs, and hopped into the limo, others jumped onto the horses and rode off towards the Griffencrest towers.

Planes could be seen in the air at alarmingly low altitudes...
But then again, they were right next to an airport...

All men made sure their guns were loaded, half expecting to walk into a war zone upon finding Griffencrest.

The cause of the dead line was a fellow emploee in the shadows, who smiled as the others left, in his hand he held a CCZ-75 pistol... "Time to meet the wizard.... follow the yellow brick road..."
He was a temp... he then concealed the gun, and went outside to hail a taxi.

Claudius became paranoid, as he often did in times of crisis. He immediatly ran up a flight of stairs to his helicopter, and went to his home on the Corporate Island. He would be safe there he hoped. Until then, he would trust noone.

OOC: Ausha, your submarines were fired on too. I'll take casualties when you do.

***SECRET IC TO BLACKHELM***

Though this may sound strange if you have yet to read my previous messages, If you will board a Wanderjarian C-17, I will fly you safely to New Prussia Island, and grant you solice within my countries capital, assuming that you and your national government accept my proposals.

As previously stated: My patience is wearing thin.

---General Guiderian

Claudius retreated deep underground to a bunker beneath his house. He was safe here, he hoped. "The Wanderjarians were up to no good" he repeated over and over as he sat in his panic room. His son, Tiberius, however, replied to the Wanderjarian request.

"I would like to seek refuge in New Prussia. Should anything happen to my father, it would be me who takes over the company. May I come?"

The Response came:

"Absolutely. A helicopter will pick you up shortly, but you will need to hurry."

Tiberius hustled out to the island's heliport. Two mercenaries accompanied him, as they waited for the helicopter to arrive.

"The current entrance codes for the island are XX-XXXX-XXX. They will change in 20 minutes, so hurry,"

OOC: Funny you posted nothing about anti-sub manuvers.....oh well. BC, RFF you guys need too post losses now from being hammered by my fleet, bormans and tocrowkias.

IC:

The hulls of 2 NA submarine shad been ripped apart. They were going down, too the bottom of the frigid sea.

Two other submarine were severly damaged, and were attempting too escape the onslaught.

The B-52's now over the BC fleet, dropped thier payload, directly at their targets (this is the second wave)

Survivng subs continue hit and run maunuveres, on RFF destoryers, as more submarines approached the front lines.

A formation of some 40 assorted aircraft, moved in a smart, well oragnized crane formation, toward the BC carriers. "All units arm long range missles."

Tomahawk missles continue too fire on BC cruisers. 3 Destroyers out of ammo. 9 continue too fight.

The quest for Mr Griffencrest.
Upon reaching the company lobby, they could see a helicopter lifting off:
"We're too late, he's dead now..."

They traveled back to their embassy, certain that they have failed the Griffencrest family.

Alternate: (crazy guy's POV)
After getting into the taxi, the temp traveled towards the building, but then ordered the car stoppped as he saw a helicopter bearing the Griffencrest logo on it fly overhead. He then got out, shook his head. Stumbled, got up again, and wondered what he was doing in the middle of the street with a gun in his pants...

He then hailed a taxi (the same one) and asked to return back to the embassy row. The taxi driver was confused and a heated discussion followed, what was said was unkown, but within 5 minutes of getting back into the taxi, the taxi driver was found dead by the roadside with 15 bullet holes in him in a tightly packed group where his chest used to be, and his head was missing, his legs and fingers broken, apparently one at a time.

Fennewick Island, New Ausha*

Things having gone smoothly, all 1 million troops were well adjusted in their new home after a week of unpacking.

Hurtian Embassy, Blackhelm
The place was a mess, someone did a hasty search of the place while everyone was away, all gaurds posted at the time were missing, presumed dead. One man walked to the embassy next door and asked to use their phone.

This would make the headlines... no doubt about it.

James O'Brian, having filed his paperwork, put on a record of "Marche Slave/Slovic March" also by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavonic_March), and he set it on the PA system, hoping it would boost the moral of his men.

His personal advisors could be seen moving towards the target range for some practice, expecting Griffenctrest or one of his men to call upon them.

The below I'm ot RPing today, I'm just too lazy to remember it on my hard drive.

For those who never heard the songs above:

20 Minutes later:
Minister of Foriegn affairs Hubert Pinkerton and Minister of Defense Major General Major announce that they will make an important speech regarding the current GASN/CA/TWSP/NA/A-CA-A conflict. It is considered odd that Pinkerton and Major are getting along so well, for itr was only mere months ago that they recall seeing the pair bickering like schoolchildren.

28 Minutes Later, Notoorough, PROHT
Transmitted live on HNN and PBS.
Hubert Pinkerton could be seen approaching the podium, Major was not visable.
"I'm sorry, but the Minister of Defense could not attend this. Since he has more pressing matters to deal with as I merely present the formalities.

It gives us great pleasure, to announce that, as a nation, we shall not be attacking the Blackhelm Confederacy or their allies...

[He gives a pause, booing can be heard in the background, Hubert then silences this simply by raising his hand]

It also gives me great pleasure to announce...
[open upraised hand turns to a fist]
That we shall conduct war against the terrorist faction know to all of us as the Corprate Alliance!"

[Fist smashes podium, crowd cheers]
time elapsed since last post, 28 minutes 30 seconds

"Many may be wondering, either in their cozy homes or cowering like caged rats in some unlisted bunker on their private island; 'How can you declare war on the Corprate Alliance, and the Griffencrest Corp, along with his associates, but not on the nation of Blackhelm or their allies?' The answer is simple really, the Griffencrest Corporation [accents this with a lewd body gesture] is just that, a corporation, a company of free individuals who tok it upon themselves to rule not one nation, but an empire without every becoming a legitamate government, Griffencrest Corporation has been frequently been cited for crimes against humanity, and don't get me started with his 'associates'."

[farts, followed by the loudspeakers attempting to recreate the noise of a nuclear explosion, crowd bursts into laughter and outrage]
Time elapsed since last post 29 Minutes

"But seriosly, they 'take care of their own', with as much infighting within their own ranks, it becomes understandable that the occasional bullet hits a soldier every so often, rather than some 'useless civillian' as they often call them. They even went to us for their weapons and places to put their delapidated planes. Well, you can bet the farm, they will be mighty shocked the next morning."

[Aid walks up to podium with letter, Hubert reads it silently]

"Well, our attempts to arrest Griffencrest peacefully have failed, and now I call upon all our allies, that may know of his location, or the location of any of his close friends and reletives, to please step forward, and bring these monsters to justice"

[Goes over the physical appearance, history (real and ficticious in order to make them look bad), and charcteristics of the Griffencrest family, this passes considerable time]
Time elapsed 34 minutes

"As I speak, Two of the largest airbases in the control of the Griffencrest Corporation are in flames, and all surviving terrorists are being captured as we speak, we are also launching massive ground and air assaults in The World Soviet Party and New Ausha against rear echelon troops of the terrorist fronts, and now, I leave you, please enjoy this recent footage of the demiolition of the Griffencrest airbases"

[Cresendo of 1812 overture starts as Pinkerton leaves, projector screen drops down, and projector shows film of the demolition at the New Roanoke Island, Griffencrest Airbase which happened not more than 8 minutes ago]

29 minutes later:
New Roanoke Island, Griffencrest airbase, PROHT
As the final minute and climax of the song repeated for the second time, a soft pinging sound could be heard, followed by the intense overpressure of pre-placed explosives. Placed when the airbase was custom made for Griffencrest planes, a film crew with a camera, machinegun, detonator control, and loudspeaker opened fire and started filming, the hardwired louspeakers would be the last to be blown up, as a sort of cruel way of torturing the mercenaries with a song celebrating the defeat of a power mad warlord in a war of attrition.

The macine gun burped to life as mercenaries tried to flee the complex as it alternated between explodin, burning, and exploding again, more help arrive in the form of the newly formed Marine Raiders riding in FMX-6B gunships and Mi-6 Halo helicopters, the high pitched whine of the mostly gas turbine powered HT-101E8 and HT-106C2 tanks could be heard not far away, and opening fire on any surviving armor and crushing all remaining pockets of resistance.

Within a minute the fighting had stopped, the film crew started packing up, and the tanks and Marine raiders where given the last few seconds of film showing them round up prisioners and checking the wreckage.

The crew was then picked up by an awaiting Mi-6 Halo and flown to the Navy base a mere 30 miles away in order to send the video on live T2 internet connection loop to Notoorough PROHT for use by Pinkeerton.

OOC: Actually, I brought in some (6) of Mr. O'Brian's closest friends with him.

And appointing him head of ground crew security wasn't the brightest idea, in retrospect...

As such, I assumed he woulsd know the exact times and methods in which everything was to be inspected for signs of sabotage (or even encouraging it to be completely ignored in order to allow the pilots more flying time).

Key targets would be:
Planes (it's an airbase...)
Runways
Communications
Tanks
Barracks
POW camp

Well placed and concealed 20 lb thermobaric demolition mines (a PROHT weapon, rolled a few under some tanks once... made big boom - roughly the same size, shape and appearance of a propane tank...) would most likely be used for blowing up buildings,

Smaller 1 pound thermobaric hand grenades placed in 'buttoned up' heavy tanks would certainly cause them to be disabled (blowing hatches, wedging breech blocks up (and sometimes out of) the barrels, wrecking all instruments, turrets blown off hull, among other things)

Tripwired "bouncing bettys" strung across the taxiways and runways would take care of any plane attemting to land or take off, along with well placed cratering shaped charge munitions.

Then top it all off with my 7 men taking the guns from the target range and armory and setting free (and arming) your POWs.

Most, if not all of these preparations could easily be done during morning, mid-morning, and afternoon inspections; along with being hidden amongst daily assingments of cleaning latrines, refueling planes, cleaning out the tanks, resurfacing the runways, and inspecting for signs of sabotage. 7 men out of 2000 also would not be missed if they didn't bother showing up for chow.

But of course, I didn't really RP this since that would borderline godmod, so I'm just outlining the plan and will let you decide upon their success.

TWSP, Hurtian front
Over the radio, men listened to Pinkerton's speech.
They were not astonished. They had been informed well in advance that they would be acting against the CATS (Hurtian term for the CA, after someone added 'of Terrorists' and then someone decided to (in an official report) reffer to the various nations as "CAT" "Kitten" and "DOG").

They then set down their cameras, loaded fresh clips, and started marching on CAT forces, they expected on ly 'Kitten' resistance at first.

Done.

Resserve (militia) troops are building it as this is typed.

But it is generally agreed that the events in Chitzeland far preceed any still ongoing RP.

Meaning I built CA an airbase and later declared war on CA after Chitzeland conflict was resolved.

But what is going to be ultamately the crater may be used by you but you would be asked to move when Griffencrest gets his airbase.

The mess was picked up, blood found, lot of blood, but no bodies.

The men were thouroghly convinced that Griffencrest had just ran into the gaping mouth of the wolf in sheep's clothing. As they didn't even seem concerned enough to look for any bodies, or the reletives of Griffencrest, they simply assumed they had all died 'in some terrible accident'.

A number of document where not recovered, and presumed stolen, these pertained to Hurtian defense strategy.

It was declared that, since no word had come from Griffencrest since Wanderjar's contact (you can see a helicopter land from a satalite), it was De Facto assumed that Griffencrest died around that time.

Headlines from the HNN were therefore thus:

Hurtian Embassy in Blackhelm ransacked

Serial killer on the loose in Blackhelm, killing taxi driver among others in gruesome deaths, only one body found

Claudius Griffencrest missing and presumed lost

How is blowing up a site you entrusted my men (In new Roanoke Island) to build a godmod, since the explosives where laid down with the foundations... (I can think of a number of people who knew that the airbase was a trap)

So detonaing those explosives is not a godmod.

Walking up to the perimiter, setting up a sound sytem also wasn't a godmod, if you were so inclined, you had plenty of time just to shoot them. Or better still, make an all out assault upon the navy base a mere 30 miles away...

As well as Jamison's 'insiders' walking off to the armory, you had ample time to stop them, but you didn't.

As for the existance of these personel in Husk, you approved them.

You approved every event leading up to detonating the explosives...

*EDIT*

To Mr. Jamison O'Brien,

You mentioned that you were able to fly. How would you feel about commanding an airbase? If you accept, you will become one of three commanders of The Husk Air Base, in RFF. This is going to be a very tough job, as it is Griffincrest main overseas airbase. Should you accept, you will be co-commanding the following in The Husk.

2000 miles - RFF, The Husk Air Base
- 500 Folland Gnat fighters
- 350 F-4 Phantom II's
- 200 Mercury AFV's
- 120 Leopard II"s
- 25 Behemoth II's
- 5000 base personnel
- Numerous base defenses
- POW camp
- Weapons testing ground
- The Husk Military Hospital
- Griffincrest Overseas Air Command (GOAC)

I humbly accept, although your planes are low tech in comparision to the stuff I'm used to - though I have flown much worse into combat, such as the UL-2000 Minion, a flying kite - the POW camp shall become very useful, you shall expect your base to be a profitable enterprise shortly after I set them to work.
[more of a ground slugger though]

I shall take care of airport security, POWs, and readiness drills.

And who shall be my Co-commanding officers be?

*TG me when I need to do anything*

To Mr. Jamison O'brien,

Your co-commander will be Faustus Bronzehammer, an Ex-Exponential (Confederacy before plague) general who, during the civil war went against orders and butchered 3 villages suspected of hiding communists, and a man yet to be chosen. Also, do not underestimate the Gnats, they have been upgraded to carry AMRAAM's, are incredibly cheap, and provide a small target.

We hope to see you soon,
Claudius Griffincrest

Reminds me of the 'Minion', which operationally was used best as literal flying artillery... Not one has successfully been intercepted by a modern airplane. [B]I'll bring a few along with some of my most trusted associates (3 planes and 5 associates) just for comparision's sake.

I'll see if I can rig a Sidewinder/Stinger up to them... They are really cheap, easy to fly, and easier to maintain.

I'll let you know when he has to do something, probably in a TG.

So six people destroy a 200 mile base?

Well, not all at once.

I thought I outlined the plan in an earlier post, but I'll surmise:

Step 1: Get into a base
(You appoved that, a particularily massive airbase [salivates])

Step 2: Bring your hommies along
(done)

Step 3: Start placing charges, and getting to know the people, equipment and geogorphy. "Settling in"
(appoved)

Step 4: Wait for orders... Nothing happens here, so why does it need your approval?

Step 5: Recieve orders inform your buddies, operation begins terminal phase
(This is when J recieves 'love letter' and compromises PA systemm, talks privately with his friends from PROHT, and sends them to the rifle range)
You didn't complain, you didn't appear to be too concerned, so I guess you approved that as well.
This was the last thing I fully RPed

Step 6: Climax, Explosives go off, POW camp breached, POWs armed.
I merely posted that exposives went off, and what they planned on doing, as

I wanted your feedback because blowing up a base should have gotten a response from somewhere, maybe even from some strategic bombers...

Step 7: Go off to the rest of the bases, taking advantage of captured weapons and POWs they would cause as much damage as they could before being wiped out, if they are completerly successful, then they would either hold or be extracted.

And you think that nobody would notice these guys stringing up bombs along the runway of my largest airbase, one that would constantly have planes landing and taking off? Or that the 5000 mercenaries on the base would not be able to supress a prison uprising?

Um...
Yes?

Since you put him in charge (of all things) ground security...
And moving hand grenades, and propane heaters isn't terribly hard to hide...
Especially when their attention is towards events outside of the fenceline, not inside.

Tripwire mines would be a little difficult, but when things were going on, it didn't seem nearly as busy as you say it was now. As I hardly noticed any flights arriving or departing Husk during any of your conflicts.

The easiest way would be to claim they were 'repairing' the runway(s) or doing regular maintnance on it...

EDIT:
And I did make concesions for failure, because I knew that Husk would be far harder to destroy than that lil base in New Roanoke, so if you wish, yes by all means, do something. (Tripwired S-mines? WTF was I on when I wrote that?!? Oh well...)

I guess they'd chicken out from mining the actual runways, maybe a few taxiways and walkways to the planes...
Claymores would have probbably worked better though...
