The War on Blainesville
Clandonia Prime

As part of the retaliation effort after Blainesvilles failed invasion of Clandonia the declaration of war was made against them. After bombing raids durring the conflict were commenced military commanders had more on their mind.
On the afternoon of the Friday the 22nd of September the decision was made for a full blown conflict with elements of Clandonias navy going in backed by airsupport and a drop in by the airforce of parachute regiments. The cabinet ending the meeting with the prospect of revenge in their minds. Airsupport would be provided from the naval taskforce and the airforce.
The following units were made ready for action:
* 3rd Para Artilery Brigade
* 16th (Air Assault) Bde HQ and Sigs Sqn
* 4th AAC Air Attack Regiment
* 22nd Special Air Service Brigade
* 2nd Mechanised Infantry Brigade
* 3rd (CPISF) Division Signal Regiment
* 1st Logistic Support Group
With the first bombers going up this evening on their mission to strike the military assets of Blainesville with shock and awe tactics. As the massive airborne operation went ahead transporting the para brigades in securing landing sites ready for the brining in of armour. Chemical weapons had been authorised under the Offensive Strategical Act of 2005. Clandonian soldiers wanted blood, they wanted to go it alone this time showing off their new military might they lined up with their weapons boarding the transport planes ready for action, as they watched the afterburners of the bombers going off into the sky.
OOC: OK this time can we keep it out with only small countries involved? I want us newbs to have a chance, seeing as the big boys are now playing with Blackhelms invasion.

Clandonian long range bombers this evening targeted positions in Blainesville such as government and military buildings. Clandonian military commanders urged the repressed people to rise up and overthrough their government and to move away from possible targets that they would strike from the air.

OOC: If I may make a suggestion...
TWSP, with your forces now pushing into Blainesville, you might be in a position to cut off supply lines for Blainesvilles attacking forces, forcing them to either retreat (and bump into YOUR invasion force) or surrender, or simply wait until their supplies run out.
With a portion of Blainesville's military removed like that, you could then withdraw from his country and make occasional raids to keep Blainesville from rebuilding his forces - that should keep the nation off-balance until Clandonia Prime launches his attack, and still allow you to divert assets to repelling other invaders.
Just my observations on the matter. We now return you to this RP, which is already in progress...

IC:
Griffincrest installations all around Blainesville sprang to life. S-400 and SA-11 batteries throughout the nation scanned the skies for any sign of hostile aircraft. The GAF decided to launch a pre-emptive strike on enemy forces before they hit Blainesville.
200 Hong-5 bombers made their way towards the Clandonian border. Their target was the first major civilian center they came upon. Each plane carried 3,000 kg of napalm. The city would become one giant fireball. The group was being escorted in by 100 F-4 Phantom II's.

OOC: I guess you will be targeting Danskeran then.
IC: Clandonian bomber forces launched stand off missiles targeting the Confedarcy AA systems with FAE warheads, meanwhile the first group of Paras had landed in Blainsville taking control of a airport like they had been trained to do.
Clandonian satellite systems had detected the massive bomber force on route, but it was too late the city of Danskeran was on fire heavily, its oil terminals ablaze, in retalition Clandonian forces told their ADAN and GASN allies to attack confederacy forces in Blackhelm in their ongoing invasion to take out air assets.

OOC: You are not fighting the Confederacy. You would have died already.
IC:
S-400 systems were equivalent to Patriot systems in almost every way, except they are Russian built. The majority of the enemies missiles were intercepted and destroyed by the S-400's, whoever a small number got through, disabling or destroying a handful of SA-11's.
At the airfield, over 800 Mercury APC's, each loaded with 10 men, surrounded the captured airfield and prepared to move in.
As the air group turned around and headed back, with Danskeran a fiery waste below them, another attack was made. Clandonia, for its arrogance would pay heavily. About 200 Beiraqi made Scud-E missiles flew from their launchers. Their target was now the Clandonian capital. Each missilewas loaded full of deadly Cyanogen Chloride gas. The capital now, would also feel the wrath of Griffincrest.

In retalition for the chemical weapons attack which had left many thousands of civillians dead and hunreads of thousands injured. Clandonain Nuclear forces authorised the use of tactical nuclear weaponry launching weapons from the B-2 force at the launch sites, military bases in Blainsville mant wanted to target the cities with full scale 20 megatonne devices but it was decided that would be used in the last resort, the small tactical nukes did their damage, a firey, radioactive blast hit the bases killing many. Meanwhile space command authrised the use of the classified Mirror Sword system, the first nuclear blast by Clandonia in space, above Blainsville in orbit releasing a wave of EM radiation hitting every system forcing it to overload leaving much of the country out of communication and power, computer systems and data would be wiped.
The forces of 3 Para were surrounded, they knew they would be defeated, they numbered 400 in strength facing a massive enemy, the only thing they could do was use all their rounds and save one round for themselves, they would not be captured of killed by the enemy.

A group of 200 A-10 Thunderbolt II's, flew over allied airspace, in route too blainesville.
"Alright, our mission boys is too get those BC APC's."
"Right sir!"
Ahead of them, were 140 high range cluster bombes, along with thier F-44 Interceptors and F-99 Wolverine escorts.
At an airbase south of red city, 700 B-52 strato fortresses were being prepped and briefed for the oncoming mission.
At the border, NA commandos (which had been in TWSP, for awhile BC!) were being prepped. 130,000 too be exact. They were cleverly armed, and wore thick black BDU's, and camoflauge alike. They wore skimasks, and some with berets.
At a BC outpost in Blainesville, 50 NA commandos moved in. As the lead team was able too open a hole in the fence, several others moved in. The guards would have too be the first too go.

In response for the nuclear strike on their associate, the Griffincrest board of directors ordered massive nuclear bombardment of Clandonia. A total of twelve missiles would be fired. Eight would hit Clandonian urban centers. The other four would hit Clandonian missile silos, to prevent a retaliatory strike.
In the Confederacy, the Board convinced the Confederate military to launch forty five ALMV/ASAT Anti-Satellite missiles at any SDI defenses Clandonia might have in place, to ensure that they would be defenseless against the strike.

IC: The missiles hit, many of the cities were burning in full retalition now any airborne bombers were ordered to strike at any targets they had left, with the country in chaos, half the cabinent missing, President Urkov in the bunker. With several hundread thousand feared dead, the CPISF and rescue forces were working their way towards the cities, all military operations were now put on hold. The bombers after dumping nearly half of their nuclear arsenal were ordered back to their remote bases. All leave was cancelled as people rushed to aid the attack. In a communication from the bunkers of Clanon City President Urkov informed his ADAN and GASN allies what had occured and told them to use all force avaible to attack the Confederacy.

I believe it is unreasonable to assume that his unescorted bombers and troop transports are running amok in Blainsville unprotested just because Blainsville hasn't had the chance to post a response in this thread. Chances are Clandonia Prime's first wave of unescorted bombers would have been wiped out by fighters & AA, and subsequent unescorted bomber/paratrooper attacks wouldn't have taken place (assuming Clandonia Prime isn't a moron). In fact, I may very well have fighters and a couple AWACS stationed in Blainsville as I sent Blainsville a telegram requesting permission to station them there a couple days ago, and am awaiting a response as you are. Furthermore, as Blackhelm said, nations under a month don't get to use nukes. I'm a newb that has never been involved in a war, and even I know that.

That is, of course, until a young Air Force officer came crashing through the double doors, panting wildly as he tripped and collapsed onto the long table. He handed the note to the Emperor, and took a seat by the wall to catch his breath. The Emperor read over it quickly.

"How many warheads are ready for launch?", the Emperor asked as he briskly walked into the War Room.
"Three-hundred. Ten 300kt warheads per Peacekeeper missile, individually targetted. Blackhelm Confederacy and its assets can be gone within a few hours, sir. Our SDI is also at full alert status, and aircraft are on constant patrols around the nation."
"How many troops did we lose?", he asked to another officer.
"None, sir. Our men were stationed far enough away from the cities to be free from harm. NBC suits are being worn as mandated, though."
The Emperor watched the world display emotionlessly, each missile ready for launch highlighted on the map of Cravan.
"I will give the Confederacy two hours to stand down before we are forced to take action. Send a communique immediately."
"Yes, sir."

We interrupt tonight's broadcast of "Mollusks for Dollars" for a special broadcast. Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the Democratic Republic of Trivalvia
Good evening, ladies and gentleman. It is with a heavy heart that I address you now.
A few short hours ago, a nuclear exchange occurred between the nations of Clandonia Prime and Blackhelm Confederacy. From the initial reports, it appears that the nation of Clandonia Prime has been utterly destroyed.
Because of our proximity to Clandonia Prime, it is expected that prevailing winds will carry radioactive fallout to parts of Mainland Trivalvia and Isle d'Monovalve. I have authorized the mobilization of reserves and civil defense teams to these areas to aid in cleanup operations and provide medical assistance to anyone afflicted. It is uncertain of the long term effects that the fallout will have on our nation, and as a result, we will be placing a freeze on all prices. There will be no hoarding, no profiteering.
Also, the Secretary General of the United Nations has put out a call to member-states to provide peacekeeping and aid for Clandonia Prime. Trivalvia is answering this call, and asks other nations to do the same. We will be dispatching the 2nd Mechanized Brigade to Clandonia Prime as soon as possible to search for survivors, set up refugee camps and hospitals, and safeguard the area as best as we can. Our support mission to Iran in the wake of the Brachiosaur takeover is cancelled.
Ladies and Gentleman, given the events of the past few hours, we stand on a precipice. We can only hope that the announced peace talks will succeed, and the current cease fire will hold. However... as of now, Trivalvia is in a state of enhanced readiness. Miltary leaves are now cancelled, and reserve forces are being called to duty. Civil Defense will speak after my address, to detail what we can expect in the coming days and weeks, and what steps citizens must take to safeguard themselves and their families.
May God help us all. Good night.
That... that was the President of Trivalvia. I...
I've just been informed that this station will be turned over to Civil Defense for the next few hours. Everyone is advised to listen carefully. Inform all citizens not near a television or radio to tune in... I have to go see my wife and daughter. Good night.

For those Shazbotdom Nationals who wish, make a pilgramage to the Clandonia Prime embasy and leave a note in the box that we have placed just outside of the main gate. We will have Marines bring in the box every hour for the Clandonia Prime Nationals who work in the embasy.
This is a message to those in the Blackhelm Confederacy, Clandonia Prime and anyone else involved. We understand that the Griffencrest Corporation tricked the Blackhelm Confederacy into launching these nuclear weapons and we will help in the negotation process if we are wanted by any of those involved. The division of the Shazbotdom Diplomatic Corps on one of our aircraft carriers is on standby with their briefcases and such in case they are wanted at the peace talks. If they are not wanted them we will keep them onboard the aircraft carriers until such a time as they are needed.
The hearts of the People of the Dark Empire of Shazbotdom go out to Clandonia Prime and their people in this time of crisis. God bless and good speed in the future."
The screne then switches back to an image of the flag.

The mysterious voice then returns...
"We now return you to your regularly schedualed SciFi program of 'The Day the World Exploded'."

A Confederate diplomat and a Griffincrest represenative stepped off of their planes in Cravan. They looked around, and each had two very seperate thoughts. Then they continued walking.
OOC: Perhaps we should start *shudder* another thread for the conference? Although we already have six or seven threads going on about related conflicts, one for a diplomatic conference wouldn't hurt. I'll post it tomorr- er, later this morning.

We are disgusted that nations will even consider entering peace talk with Griffencrest. This is nothing more than an attempt too avoid global retribution.
OOC: Im considering starting a civil war thread, so I may vie out, and the reformists (basically the millitary, and a popular Commander, along with several parties) may defeat the loyalists, and enter the peace talks. Still debating it....

The latest estimates were that 7.2 million were now dead, many more injured and survivors fleeing to the country. The military was now in full control of the country as the civillian government could no longer cope with it. NBC teams had projected that the blasts were bellow the MT range arround 300kt, teams were going into the cities, the areas where the missiles hit were totally glassed out. Nothing would able to live there for a good 20 years without danger of poisoning, even with the cleanup techniques. The help from allies and friends poored in, many soldiers were now cleaning up the area, burrying the dead in the mass graves lined with concrete because of the radioactivity lingering in their corpses. Many in the military were utterly shocked, some suggested that the country should of done more to improve missile defence. The space port at Verdan was undamaged, perhaps an SDI project should of been started......
Enginers had managed to restore critical communications, the cellular network was being overwelmed still and government channels had been made priorities. A state funeral was being planned for President Urkov, the Joint Chiefs of staff would lead it and it would be broadcast live to the rest of the world, it would incorporate the funerals of the other 7.2 million dead that the enemys of Clandonia had done. Many civillians had become very very anti-Blackhelm now and were hoping that ADAN allies would strike back sopehow. If the talks worked then compensation would be wanted in the $100 Trillion range to repair the damage.

When Emperor Matter heard of the plight , he ordered 10 Humanitarian Teams to be sent to Clandonia Prime , bringing with them thousands of tons of medicine , food and even a small cellular network system to be used for emergency coomunications between civillian and military governments .
They also brought passes for those who wished to seek temporary shelter and protection under Imperial Mationbuds states and associates . 800 Billion USD were also collected to help in the reconstruction of a fellow GASN ally wrecked by war .
Upon seeing his allies being glassed , he could take it no more and ordered 5 Polaris and 5 Trident Nuclear Armed ICBMs to be fired into the key military areas , key civillian/economic areas and key government/infrastructure .
A huge Marine Expeditionary force was called up to be sent to Blainsville for a ground assult , which would be backed by naval and air assets .

With the Mationbuds aid, communications were now fully restored and the crisis was averted, the funeral of the former President was held today, on the burnt lawn in front of the Presidential House, damaged by the blasts a volly of shots from CPISF forces was fired on remeberance.
At the port city of Danskeran, Clandonian naval vessels were helping clear the way to allow for ships to dock, the city had been firebombed before, plumes of smoke rose from the petroleum dock area. At other cities, they were had put out the fires and were now peforming clean up of the radiation with washing down of buildings and boron clean up teams. Supplies were being distrubuted in the cities after arriving at the operational airstrips Clandonian planes that had been sheltered inside their subterain hangers were used to supply drop to the camps and medical centres.
CNN was now broadcasting after bouncing signals off a military uplink station to its main satellites in orbit after the ground station was damaged and without power. AWACS Pilot #1: Sir, you won't believe this!
Colonel Thomas: What is it?
AWACS Pilot #1: An enormous fleet just appeared off the coast of Blainsville. One moment they weren't there, the next they were. It is as if they used magic, sir.
Colonel Thomas: Very funny, captain. Please keep this channel clear for legitimate communications.

AWACS Pilot #1: Understood, sir.
Colonel Thomas: Command to Overlord, please respond.
AWACS Pilot #2: Overlord here, go ahead.
Colonel Thomas: We have unconfirmed reports of an enormous fleet off the coast of Blainsville. Please confirm.
AWACS Pilot #2: Confirmed, sir. They came out of nowhere. One moment our radar was clear for hundreds of miles, the next moment there was a massive fleet sitting off the coast. We were just about to radio it in. I've never seen anything like it, sir.
Colonel Thomas: Copy that, Overlord. Please keep us informed of any new developments.
AWACS Pilot #2: Understood, sir.
Major Norris: Sir, CA intelligence reports that a fleet of similar composition just disappeared from off the coast of Clandonia Prime.
Colonel Thomas: Please explain.
Major Norris: I can't, sir. Either this fleet moves many times faster than the speed of sound or they posses some sort of new technology that allows them to instantly transport their ships from one place to another. I suspect the later, sir, as I doubt their ships' hulls could withstand the pressure of traveling through the water at such speeds. Maybe they are aliens, sir.
Colonel Thomas: Aliens? Are you serious? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
Major Norris: Sorry, sir. I'm at a loss to explain how this fleet arrived off our coast undetected. I'm grasping at straws, sir.
Colonel Thomas: Command to tower. We have just made radar contact with a massive naval fleet just off the coast. Sound the alarm. Scramble all fighters for intercept. Re-route all combat-air-patrols to join the assault.
Air Traffic Controller: Right away, sir.
Air Traffic Controller: Uh, sir? Are you sure about this? That area was clear just a few minutes ago.
Colonel Thomas: Yes, just do it, Sergeant.
Air Traffic Controller: Right away, sir.
Major Norris: Are you sure that is wise, sir? Surely our fighters are no match for such an advanced fleet. Given their capabilities, it seems likely their fleet will just outrun our missiles, and I shudder to think what weapons such a fleet might have.
Colonel Thomas: Yes, it has occurred to me that we are completely outmatched here. Still, we must do what we can. In situations such as this, it is better to try and fail than not try at all.
Major Norris: Understood, sir.
Meanwhile, at two airstrips near the capitol of Blainsville, dozens of UNMARKED F-16 Falcons were scrambled for launch. Within 15-20 minutes, they are on a low-altitude intercept course towards this new threat.

Ten C-130 Hercules transports approached Clandonian airspace, escorted by a squadron of F-39 Copperhead fighters.
Onboard the lead Hercules, Colonel Steven Lytton looked out at the nation they were approaching. From here, the nation looked peaceful... if one discounted the clouds of fallout.
The fallout still hasn't settled, Lytton thought. "Blanchard!"
Lieutenant Colonel Yves Blanchard looked up from his portable terminal. "Sir?"
"Have the men don their NBC gear. The fallout has not settled enough."
Blanchard walked over to where Lytton was standing. "Yes, sir." He looked out the window. "What were they thinking, sir?"
"Not of their own survival, that's for sure." Lytton replied. "Take a good look. That is what awaits us back home if we ever fail our duties as soldiers."
Lytton went ahead to the cockpit. "Have we recieved any word from Clandonian authorities?"
"Not yet, sir," said the pilot. "The fighters are reporting they have to turn back. They're reaching the edge of their effective range."
"And we don't want to cause an incident. All right, order them to return to base, and thank them for the escort." Lytton sighed. "And try the Clandonians again."
The pilot nodded. "Clandonia Prime, this is Hercules-Zero-Three. We are bringing troops and supplies as part of the UN-authorized relief and peacekeeping mission. Requesting permission to land, over."

Five B-2 Spirit stealth bombers taxied off in the Blaine Alps. Their mission was to bomb any surviving centers of life. The five bombers climbed up to their service ceiling of 50,000 feet up, and spread out to minimize their chances of detection. Each one carried 40,000 pounds worth of 500 pound Mk82 bombs. Lytton surveyed the airport. "I want a perimeter established around this facility", he told Blanchard. "Once word gets out we're here there may be raids on our supplies."
"Yes sir," Blanchard activated his radio. "1st Company, create a perimeter around the airport."

'Greetings Colonel, I am Flt. Lt. Officer Drenk of the Clandonian Airfoce. I will assist you in what ever you need, and I greatly thankyou for the help. My family were caught up in Clanon City, if it wasnt for Trivalvian supplies my wife would be dead now, so I personally thankyou.'
Any hostile B-2 bombers would be shot down over Clandonian teritory and their crews killed upon capture. No prisoners would be taken.

OOC: Mationbuds, why are you throwing your nuclear weapons into this?
Trivalvia
25-09-2006, 23:07
OOC: Clandonia, let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. The Trivalvian force is only just arriving and hasn't had the opportunity to help anyone yet. :)
IC: Lytton shook the Clandonian's hand. "We'll do what we can, but we'll need a center of operations. If you can spare one of the airport's buildings my men can start outfitting it immediately. While we set up a command center we can also set up a field hospital here in the airport. We've brought along several civilian doctors, but any local doctors will be welcome.
"3rd Battalion will handle security and supply dispersal for the immediate area. Once 1st and 2nd Battalions arrive in the next few days we can start moving out to cover the city as well as starting patrols to nearby surviving towns and villages."
Meanwhile:
Hercules Zero-Eight was leaving Clandonian airspace when a blip appeared on the radar.
"Sir?" the co-pilot said to the pilot, "I've got a bogey on the edge of our radar. Slow, high altitude... it could be a bomber."
The pilot glanced at the radar screen. "Do we have an ID on it?"
The co-pilot shook his head. "I'm afraid not... hold on, I think I have a rough heading..." The co-pilot turned to where a paper map of the region had been placed, using a pencil to trace the intruder's position. "Sir, it's on a route taking it from Blainesville... there's a good chance it will reach Clanon City."
"Dammit! Haven't they had enough bloodshed today?" The pilot switched comm channels to reach Trivalvian Strategic Command and relay the news.

Clandonian radar had picked up the bomber, it asked the Trivalvians to help with its fighter command in drips in drabs still they had no contact with main squadrons to the North which could intercept the bombers.
'Roger this is Clandonian Air command, we have deteced bombers incoming towards our capital on longwave radar, they are targetting your troops we advise you shoot them down now. We have deployed Rapier Systems to shoot them down.'

OOC: Means my airforce is not in order, after the nuclear attacks I've got a mixture of surving elements scattered across the country with no communication to them, so theres no way in organising them to scramble. Thats why I'm asking you.
Trivalvia
25-09-2006, 23:48
OOC: Just so we know what's going on, here's what Trivalvia is deploying and the mission:
Trivalvia is in Clandonia Prime as a UN-authorized peacekeeping force. So that means we provide aid and security on the ground. Since the ceasefire is somewhat tenous (and about to be broken), Trivalvian ground forces can't do much except help evacuate regions and find survivors. The officers on the ground now are ground force rather than air force, so they can't really help with your air forces - it's something a little out of their jurisdiction.
Plus, the 3rd Battalion - what's on the ground right now - is Light Infantry; they didn't bring any extended comm gear. 1st and 2nd Battalions (which are Mechanized Infantry) will have better comm equipment, but they won't get there in time.
Now, the escort fighters are probably halfway back to Trivalvia at this point. I figure Trivalvian Strategic Command can order them back to force the bombers down but they'll be very low on fuel by the time they reach the bombers. Fresh fighters can be launched but they'll take longer, and will probably intercept the bomber(s) on the way back.
Order of Battle for this operation:
1st Mechanized Brigade Group is contributing the following:
1st Battalion, TNR (Trivalvian National Regiment)
3 companies, each company containing 4 platoons, each platoon containing 4 sections. 661 men in all. 48 APCs. Machine Gun and anti-tank munitions are being left home due to the nature of this mission.
2nd Battalion, TNR
Same as 1st Battalion in make-up.
Each of these battalions will also be bringing a troop of Typhoon ADVs (anti-air defenses) but again, they're not on the ground yet.
3rd Battalion, TNR
Light Infantry only.
8 3 ton cargo trucks, fully loaded.
40 civilian doctors and nurses.
1st Armoured Regiment is on standby as are the three infantry battalions of the 2nd Mechanized Brigade Group in the event they are needed.
IC: General Wellington monitored the map showing the Clandonian theater of operations. So far, only the 3rd Battalion was down, and they were defenseless against an airstrike.
"What about our fighters?"
One technician spoke into her headset, then turned to the General. "The escort squadrons are probably in the best position to intercept, but they're low on fuel. They might not make it back to Trivalvian airspace."
"We can send a fresh squadron from Rollins AFB, but they won't get there in time. We can probably intercept the bomber on its way back, though," said a second technician.
"Sir? The planes carrying 1st and 2nd Battalions are getting ready to land. Should I order them to hold?" asked a third.
General Wellington nodded. Hard decisions.
"Get Colonel Lytton on a secure line - use whatever plane is still on the ground to reach him. I'll speak to him personally. We'll have to hope 3rd Battalion can organize an effective evacuation in time.
"Order the Globemasters carrying 1st and 2nd Battalions to maintain a holding pattern. When the bombing is over, they can attempt to land. And order 3rd Squadron into the air. I want that bomber diverted to land within Trivalvian airspace and its crew arrested."
"Sir, 2nd Squadron is on the line. They're volunteering to attempt to intercept the bomber."
Wellington thought for a moment.
"All right. But keep in mind their own survival comes first. Stop that bomber, and be prepared to land in Clandonian territory if they don't have enough fuel to return."

Then came out the blue....
'This is refuel 720 team Tristar here for resupply Trivalvian squadron leader. Drop to 30,000 ft and reduce speed to 400 mph for refuelling.'
The three Clandonian fueling planes had arrived from the Scandanvian base where support was incoming in the form of aid and support back home. Along with the their X-35 escourts which passed the tankers on the way to take down the bombers.
Trivalvia
26-09-2006, 17:59
OOC: Sorry, but I am going to have to ask that last move be ignored. Here is why:
1. Trivalvia did not ask for external refuelling support either before or during this recent development, and I'm not at all sure the F-39 Copperhead fighter is capable of mid-air refuelling (Aequatio can probably clear that aspect up).
2. I find it highly improbable that Clandonia, which is currently unable to organize its remaining air force to respond to the bomber itself, is capable of launching refueller planes to intercept fighters that only recieved their new orders minutes, if not seconds, before. This is very Spur-of-the-Moment, Charlie Foxtrot category planning going on here. That your refuellers just happened to be in the vicinity is skirting the ragged edge of godmodding.
I appreciate the thought of in-flight refuelling, but for the reasons listed above, I have to refuse. Keep in mind this is Trivalvia's first military operation outside its national boundaries... it's a learning experience both for the Trivalvian military and for me as a player. Mistakes are bound to be made and in this case, it's lack of support for my fighters. I'm willing to lose a few fighters because of that.

Trivalvian Strategic Command
General Wellington continued to watch the theatre map, frowning. Three planes from 2nd Squadron were already forced to land for lack of fuel, and the others were approaching their limits. 3rd Squadron, now airborne, was still too far out to intercept the bomber.
The door opened, and President William MacKensie, flanked by his aide, entered the war room. Wellington faced the President and saluted. "Sir."
MacKensie glanced at the large screen displaying the theatre map. "General, what is the situation in Clandonia Prime?"
Wellington grimaced. "We're still in the process of deploying our troops near Clanon City, but we have a problem." He pointed to the map, where icons showing the positions of both 2nd and 3rd squadron. "Blainesville has launched bombers against Clandonia Prime. One of our transport planes detected one by accident and relayed the information to us. I have two squadrons trying to intercept the bomber and find any others."
MacKensie nodded. "I trust you are going to give the bomber a chance to stand down? I don't want us getting into a formal shooting war if we can help it."
Wellington nodded. "Understood, sir."
MacKensie sighed. "In any event, it may be academic soon. I've just been informed that Mationbuds has issued an ultimatium to the Corporate Alliance. They're threatening a full NBC strike."
All activity within the war room ceased. Technicians and aides turned to look at the President, their faces pale.
Wellington glanced at his subordinates. "Back to work, people." He turned back to the President. "With respect sir, I'm not sure how that will affect us. Officially, we're still neutral."
"Officially, yes. But if Mationbuds carries through with its threat, we can expect other nations, on both sides, to deploy what nuclear or chemical arsenals they have as well. And some may not be too choosy about thier targets.
"Our existing political stance towards Blackhelm Confederacy and our aid mission to Clandonia Prime may be enough justification for us to be targetted."
Wellington paused, thinking. "What are you going to do, sir?"
"I'm going to telephone some of the leaders on both sides, see if I can help defuse this mess. I understand that there are some moderates on the Corporate Alliance side that are looking for a cease fire at least. Failing that..."
"Failing that, we might find ourselves in the inferno. Sir, may I recommend we issue a force-wide change to Defense Condition 3? It would increase our chances of civilian evacuation efforts and responding to actual attacks."
MacKensie nodded. "Of course. Make it happen, General."
As the President turned to leave, Wellington picked up his phone. "All base commanders, this is General Wellington. By order of the President we are now at DEFCON 3."

For my own small involvement, I'll keep the 1st Mechanized Brigade inside Clandonia to continue its aid mission, but I won't be rp'ing the effort - it's now just logistics, anyway. I'm assuming the bombers either got shot down/recalled/vanished without a trace, and so I'm recalling my fighters.
Looking ahead, Clandonia, perhaps you and Blainesville should consider dismantling what nuclear and/or chemical arsenals you still have? Both of your nations have now been scarred deeply by nukes, and it serves no-one to have those weapons still around. The money you'd save for not having to maintain them would help in your reconstruction efforts at least.

A good conventional force is a must, agreed: Trivalvia would never suggest that Clandonia Prime not be able to defend itself. But nuclear arsenals serve only as offensive weapons or deterrents... and they have clearly failed in the latter role.
In your current state - devastated cities, a reduced population, and ecological effects of nuclear bombardment (crop failures, radiation poisoning from fallout, poisoning of water supplies) - nuclear weapons are both a provocation to other nations and an expense you can ill afford. Please reconsider.

The Trivalvian government is deeply disappointed in Clandonia Prime's new direction. While its people are still lacking basic needs, it has decided to take on new stocks of nuclear arms.
Having refused our diplomatic requests both here and by direct telegram, the Clandonian government has made a mockery of Trivalvia's attempts to restore this country to stability. Until the Clandonian government sees reason, Trivalvia is discontinuing its aid mission. We will not assist a nation only to see it destroy itself all over again.
The Trivalvian 1st Mechanized Brigade is being recalled. The civilian doctors currently operating in Clandonia have elected to remain, but they will be the last aid Clandonia receives from us; and they will return when their supplies are depleted. Furthermore, Clandonia Prime is hereby warned that if it continues to increase its nuclear stockpile, or uses those weapons against any other nation, the Trivalvian government will impose economic sanctions against Clandonia Prime.

Greetings from the Republic of Ackistan!
Your regional neighbor, Ackistan, requests the nation of Blainesville refrain from engaging in hostile acts against Clandonia Prime.
Clandonia Prime has suffered horribly for their nuclear strike on your nation. Chunks of their nation are uninhabitable, and the entire nation is suffering the effects of a nuclear winter. Any action you take at this point would simply be beating a dead horse.
However, should you persist in attacking Clandonia Prime; I expect such actions would anger a number of world powers, who might see fit to launch further nuclear attacks against you. Such attacks would obviously be devastating to Blainesville, but could also have detrimental affects on Ackistan and other nations in your proximity. For the good of everyone involved, we encourage you to exercise restraint.
Take comfort in the fact that Ackistan has deployed its fleets to Clandonia Prime’s coast. Our navy will do its best to keep nuclear weapons out of Clandonia Prime’s hands for the safety of all.
The time for destruction is over. It is time to rebuild.

The people of Ackistan offer their sympathies to both Clandonia Prime and Blainesville for the civilian casualties each side has suffered throughout this conflict. We would also like to point out that neither nation has benefited in any way from the wars you have fought. No land has changed hands. No valuable resources have been captured. You have only succeeded in getting your citizens killed by the millions. Should you persist, I expect more of the same, and encourage both sides to end hostilities immediately.
Furthermore, Ackistan’s congress has unanimously voted to deny both GASN and Blainesville access to our air space and territorial waters. If you wish to bomb each other senseless, don’t fly over our country to do it.
Against my better judgment, I must relay a message from our esteemed president, who wanted me to tell you to “pull your heads out of your asses, and get back to the business of rebuilding your countries”.

OOC: Just wanted to remind everyone that Blainesville says he is land locked, so there is no access to that country through international waters or air space. Naturally, this also means Blainesville relies on the goodwill of his neighbors for access to international waters and air space. Ackistan does not share a border with Blainesville, but we are in close proximity. If ya’ll want to bomb each other, I think it would be reasonable to ge a country from "A NEW HAVEN" to permit you to use their air space or assume your aircraft are taking fire from one or more nations as you violate their air space.

They brought this upon themselves and we will bring the ones who called for the bombing of the innocents to justice, one way or another. No matter what we have to do, it will be done.

OOC:
In another thread he said he was RL Switzerland. How can he be landlocked if he's Switzerland?

Final Ultimation to Blainsville
If you do not hand over the criminals who commited the act of murder to 326 civillians then we and our allies will begin bombardment of your country. Unlike you we are not baby killers so we will be only targetting your military and government facilities. You have 24 hours.

Chellis heavily recommends against such an action. Every attack has lead to a counter-attack. The string of events leading up to this point has CP attacking BV because they attacked CP because they attacked BV because... you get the poing, I hope.
Its so easy for a small nation to throw bombs and lives away. Its truly special when one decides to end the bloodshed, and try to rebuild. Will you look like a warmonger, killing for revenge, that will just lead to more and more deaths? Or will you call it off, and instead agree to a ceasefire if Blainsville will?
Chellis is willing to hold a neutral meeting between all parties involved. Make the smart choice.

I'm not that good with knowing national boundries and geography. I used to be good but then i went to college and payed more attention to my schoolwork with computers and web design more than freshening up with national geography.

Chellis is glad that Clandonia Prime is wise. If Blainsville were to make any aggressive moves during this point, it would be very unwise, as it would lose any theoretical standing, internationally, that it had. We have a cargo ship near Ackistan that can serve as a meeting point. We have troops on them, standard CHN procedure, and will ensure that nobody gets assaulted, etc while on the ship. If anyone were to attack the ship, or anybody on the ship, we would consider it an act of war. Similarly, any ship used to transport diplomats to the CHN Adrevoir is considered protected, and chellis will consider attacks upon such ships are a declaration of war.

Should this peace conference take place, you are welcome to use any facility we have. If you wish Ackistan to send a delegation to this conference, we will oblidge.

Clandonia will have its diplomats on a helicopter from the Hydra Class destroyer CNS Inglan which will remain for the duration of the talks. Until the situation is resolved our armed forces will be on standby.

This is perfectly acceptable, and we ask that all other involved parties come to the negotiating tables to solve this diplomatically.

Statement: For Immediate Release
The Trivalvian government, encouraged by Clandonia Prime's renewed interest in a peaceful settlement, will not be idle in helping to promote that peace. We will be suspending economic sanctions for the immediate future and will be renewing support for the civilian aid mission still operating within Clandonia Prime, although ground troops or engineers will not yet be allowed to return.
In addition, Trivalvia is committing the aircraft carrier TNS Albion and the destroyers TNS Nemesis and TNS Pollux to monitor air traffic between Clandonia Prime and Blainesville for as long as the ceasefire holds. Any military aircraft on attack vectors from one of these nations to the other will be turned around.

The Empire of Mationbuds hereby declares a stance of neutrality during the peace talks and will not interfere in the peace progress . However Imperial warships will continue to prowl the seas and any hostility against them will simblify an act of open agression against us .

The other four B-2's were recalled back to base. The Royal Government now waited to see what Chellis led negotiations would bring.
