After reading the stickies, I have one question. Can we be real life nations on NationStates? Or does it have to be made up, because I was thinking of being Greece, like where Zorba the Greek is from. Thank you for the help before.

You can do whatever you please. If you really want to be greece, perhaps joining one of the "Earths" and claiming that land could be an excellent way to start. However, nothing is stopping you from just RP'ing as greece in all RP's. It may leave you a bit weak in the long run, but hey do what you wish.

You may be real life nations for your NationState...but realise that some people have already claimed RL land for their nation. So there might be conflicts and such....

Now, where was I? Oh yes, there's several 'Earths' where you can play as real life countries at varying periods in history. You can also play as a nation with Greek culture, though your own government, etc.

Thanks, Shazbotdom and Crucible for your info. I hope I can be Greece, but if not, then what can one do? I do hope no one has claimed Greece but if they have, then that is ok. Also, Crucible, what is an ''Earth?''

An Earth is a role-playing game where you can role-play as a RL country. There are seperate Earths that do not interact with one another and do not affect each other.

Zorba the Greek is from Greece, yes. Well, I hope that Greece is open, if not than I can't be Greece really. A nation with Greek culture? So I can make up nations too? I'm sure many would like that. Anywho, thanks for your info.

I read it through and someone has Greece, so in Earth II, I would lose out. Anywho, perhaps I could be Greece outside of the Earths.

Ah yes. Though I would be playing as Greece, people will see me as Zorba the Greek.
