Imperial Takeover of Ryloth (FT , Semi-Open)

IC :

Emperor Darth Matter first became interested in the forest covered planet of Ryloth when he got wind of the high grade biomedical products the planet exported like Bacta and Ryll , which were very sought after in the market .

Upon hearing that no-one had control over it , he dispatched an Imperial Flotilla to takeover the Twilek homeplanet and eliminate any resistance . The Taskforce was dispatched at full speed and headed towards Ryloth . Upon appearing out of hyperspace , they made their intent known to the native Twileks and got turbolaser fire in their face .

Apparently they had a few of their own ships to complement their defence force . Just a few Guardian Class Frigates which posted not much of a threat and were utterly destroyed . It served as a warning that any resistance would be futile .

Later that day , several squadrons of TIE MkII Fighters and Scimitar Assult Bombers were dispatched to wipe out any remaining pockets of resistance while several flights of Lambada and Gamma shuttles landing thousands of Imperial Stormtroopers and several hundred Hover Tanks and Artillery support .

A large fortress was built surrounded by 4 Prefabricated bases . The time had come whereby Ryloth was no longer free ...

The problem with invading Ryloth would soon become inherent when on one side of the surface, men melted and on the other, stormtroopers froze to death. Mationbuds intelligence has forgotten two things:

1. Ryloth was tidal-locked and devoid of life on the surface, a desert planet. That means that one side of the planet was scorching heat with temperatures hovering around 1000 degrees C and the other side quickly plunged to around -200 degrees C. There was a narrow band where life was possible, but only barely because of the superheated hyperstorms that scour the landscape, even into the cold areas. But what life was there...

2. ...lived underground. That's right, folks. Twi'lek civilization was a vast network of tunnels and caverns. That gives a serious defensive advantage to Ryloth as it would be hard for armored units to invade the tunnels. Hard at best and nearly impossible at worst.

Bad intelligence often leads to death and destruction on the attacker's side. And it was no different in this case. The Twi'lek defenders forced the enemy to fight on their terms, using their home ground advantage to lay waste to the enemy stormtroopers and vehicles that managed to get into the tunnels. Fighters were rather useless as there wasn't much to bombard.

And of course, an SOS was called out for anyone who could help Ryloth.

IC :

The first few stormtroopers died horrible deaths and Imperial Command ordered all shuttles to return . They then dispatched 400 Stormtroopers dressed with VAC Suits and entered the freezing cold side of Ryloth along with several heavy machinery and began drilling huge tunnels deep into the gound and a prefabricated bunker capable of withstanding extreme heat/cold was built ...

In Response :
Ryloth currently does not belong to anyone and is proclaimed free for takeover . It will be added to the Galactic Empire's list of held worlds and under our direct control . We advise you not to interfere in such a quick and simple operation in which we wish no one to get hurt .

It would appear that nobody wishes to hurt anyone else, but I suggest that the people of Ryloth will retaliate when your troops make another push to take the planet.
The benefits to yourselves in holding a permanent surface base on Ryloth are minimal, and we feel this in this instance that a negotiating table is necessary.
I ask you to enforce a 48 hour ceasefire, under the terms of which you will halt your advance to the surface of Ryloth and representatives from both parties will meet aboard the nuetral grounds of our PF Cruiser which will arrive in roughly 7 hours.
We urge you to announce a ceasefire, from warfare will come no good.

The Empire currently does not need ceasefires . However we are minimising any killings . We are setting up 5 bases on Ryloth with little resistance . After the bases have been deployed will a ceasefire be considered .

It is true that Twi'leks haven't had much in the way of defense. But what they did have was formidable enough. Opportunistic bastards that they are, their warriors used powerful detonators imported from elsewhere to blow up the enemy's prefabricated bases.

Meanwhile, a passing Rebel Alliance fleet discovered the threat to Ryloth and moved quietly into the system to attack. Targeting the Enslaver Super Star Destroyer, a massive volley of beamlaser energy lit up the dark skies, piercing shields and blowing holes in the supership hull, followed by an even more massive volley of turbolaser, ion cannon and missiles upon the enemy fleet.

And an Imperial-class Star Destroyer dispatched from Tenetia recorded the action, but did nothing for now but watch...

I'm gonna have to ignore your Twilek part because no-one said you could play as the Twileks . Ask first .What are the stats of the RA fleet ?

IC :

The Enslaver took the beam lasers easily by absorbing the energy into its shields . It fired off 2 superlaser shots at the Rebel Fleet while the 4 Imperial MKIII Star Destroyers went forward and boxed the Rebel Fleet up and pounded them with unrelentless turbolaser and ion cannon fire as well as thousands of anti-shield and anti-capital ship missiles .

The 6 VictoryII Star Destroyers and 20 Carrack Class Light Cruisers remained at Ryloth to guard it .

OOC: Twi'leks actually happened to be neutral in the Galactic Civil War (Empire vs Rebellion). Now that you, as part of the Empire, have attacked Ryloth, they're now on the side of the Rebel Alliance, which is basically Coreworlds + her allies + the Outer Rim, which includes Mon Calamari and other places. Palpatine isn't going to be happy about your actions of late.

And since no one is RPing the Twi'leks, I will. Got a problem with that?

The Rebel Alliance fought with a vengence, even after losing two medium cruisers to the Enslaver. They pushed forward, concentrating their assaults on the Super Star Destroyer, maneuvering aft of the supership so that they won't get hit again by the enemy's superlasers. The beamlasers continued to rake across the Enslaver SSD, aiming for vital spots like weapons, the bridge and the huge-ass engines, while ion cannons continued to force shutdowns of various Imperial systems so that turbolasers could eliminate them.

Meanwhile, a task force consisting of three Coredian Star Destroyers, 1 Electronic Warfare cruiser and 3 Missile Star Cruisers jumped into the system upon hearing the cries of Ryloth. The cruiser jammed enemy communications and sensors and then the other six ships concentrated their turbolasers and missiles on a single Imperial Mk III Star Destroyer.

Currently en route to Konoha, the WRATHCHILD fleet suddenly diverted from the remainder of the navy, appearing in the Ryloth system. The powerful Battlecruisers and Destroyers began spreading out rapidly, enveloping the opposing vessels and avoiding incoming fire with a grace that no human could match. Sleek hulls, each swifter than the fastest starfighters, and more heavily armored than any but the heaviest of opposing vessels, the vessels of project WRATHCHILD were a terrifying sight.

Guns threw massive slugs deep into the void, each seeking its target with frightening accuracy, while missiles and particle beams filled the cold void with their deadly energy. Hundreds, and then thousands of missiles swarmed towards the single largest target in the system, while dozens of MAC shells roared in their wakes, and particle beams clawed at the enemies shields before the remainder of the shot could arrive. It was a devastating volley, easily enough to shred a dozen star destroyers, this vessel had little hope. This so called Enslaver...

Orbiting Ryloth star at a distance of nearly sixteen thousand miles, the Republic surveillance vessel Dralshy'a
(http://starwars.wikia.com/images/7/7b/YV-929.jpg) recorded the actions of every vessel in the system. A dedicated sensor system, filling the entire one hundred and fifty-ton hold, monitored and filtered information and sensor readings, and transmitted directly to an extensive relay station on Ansu III.

The situation was being monitored, the Republic was informed, the Senate would decide.

Just point us to the nail, and we'll bring the hammer down. That was the slogan of Hammer Mercenary Forces Incorporated, the same slogan rotating with slow grace over the holographic head of a Twi'lekian leader.

"You have to understand..." the blue alien said, "... our money reserves are a tad, well stretched right now. But no matter; we still have some resources which I believe you would find highly..."

"Save it Gaetu'sil." Zack Kaisen said from his black electro-chair directly in front of the nervous looking Twi'lekian floating before him. "I know, you know, hell everyone knows that your world is a barren wasteland, and the only thing that makes it more valuable than the dirt it's made of is your slave trade. So don't beat around the bush: how much of your trade are you willing to give up, and for how long, to save your little world from being conquered by the newest space empire on the block?" He finished with burning quickness; never a patient man, he always wanted to get straight to the dotted line.

The skinny blue alien was visibly nervous: doing his best to hold back the beads of sweat forming all across his skin, and trying his hardest not to shiver at the proposition. "Well..." he said hesitantly; the slave trade was the only resource the inhabitants of Ryloth had to draw from; without it they'd just be some backwater world no one paid any attention to. However, with such a high demand for the 'services' of their women, they had a modest podium in the galaxy in which to shout from. So it was no surprise that giving up any of the gravy train was as disgusting to them as cannibalism is in many societies, but these were desperate times it seemed: no price was too high, theoretically anyway.

"... Point seven percent for a period of no more than ten years is all I am authorized." He said sullenly.

Zach peered into the empty wineglass he had been subtly fiddling with for the greater part of his meeting with Gaetu'sil, having never once during that time filled or drank from it. "It will have to do." He said almost grudgingly, knowing full well that what was being offered was no small sum as far as his company would be concerned; but in times like this: why not try for more later? "It will get you about fifteen of our best cruisers, and a few regiments of our best men, but no more than that with what you're offering us."

Gaetu'sil appeared to be relieved somewhat, though still nervous: obviously he wanted more, but as they say beggars can't be choosers. "I thank you, really I do... but... if you could perhaps find it in your hearts to send more?" He said hopefully.

Zach stared at the alien blankly for what seemed like an eternity before responding. "We don't have hearts; just deep pockets where they should be."

Gaetu'sil seemed to understand that, though not without a regretful. He bowed his head, and cut the transmission, leaving the dark haired Zach alone in his half-spheroid office of rippling energy spawned by the force field emitters within the metal wire frame design of the structure. It hung over the planet unceremoniously; completely aloof to the vast amount of trade traffic coming to and fro the vast reaches of this galaxy, and the many others that called this universe home. Connected to a massive corp station that served the same function as many sky-scrappers on less advanced worlds: office space. A parabola in design that lay atop burning cylinder engines that kept the stations from burning up in the thick atmosphere of a world dominated by blue oceans encompassing several large continents.

Zach grew up on one of them, long ago. A memory that made more pain than pleasure for him, so as with all those other times it came up from the depths of his soul to torment him at the most inopportune of times: he cast it back out. Rising from his seat, he went over to one of the 'windows' created by the design of the wall.

"We're in business it seems." He said into what seemed to be blank nothingness, though that 'what' soon transformed into a shimmer pool of bright light; a picture of several men staring back at Zach from a great wooden conference table.

"We know." One of the men said, appearing no different than the other men; all wearing fine black suits with dark red ties, the kind of red blood takes when spilled from any large puncture of the flesh. The only different was hairstyle; otherwise they all appeared to be the same person cloned into different seats. The one speaking had his jet-black hair styled into a long ponytail. He looked at Zach with dark green eyes from behind the lenses of thin sunglasses. "I think you could have gotten more."

"Unlikely; he wasn't lying about being authorized. The slave trade they run is highly valuable to them, as we all know, so no doubt they were more than reluctant to give up any control." Zach replied.

"Indeed. This venture stands to be very costly: mercenaries don't stand a chance against modern armies I am sure you realize." Another of the men said, this one with short black hair brushed back without aid of gel. "If we happen to... lose, well, it will be our downfall."

Zach noted the questioning; common practice for the Trade Officer to go through after each deal, most questions were stock for the sake of formality; others were abhorrently tough to answer. Though this series seemed more the former than the later.

"Of course, but I think we would all be remise to pass up such an opportunity would we not? We stand to gain much in more than just financial resources from this deal if all goes well; it's great advertisement and our government might make some new friends. Also that damnedable 'Ryll' so many of our citizens crave would no doubt dip in price for us..." Zach let his words hang in the air a moment before finishing, "I'd say the benefits outweigh the risks, gentlemen."

All the men considered; the one with the ponytail and the one with short hair, as well as the others with such a myriad of styles it was almost unfathomable. "Agreed. See it fit that this venture is indeed profitable; more than your job depends on it." The screen went black, and the star filled world of space bisected by thousands of traveling ships returned through that little section of the wall.

Zach was slightly shocked; never had any of the Board members ever threatened him as obviously as that; it must be more serious of a job than he thought.

Still, the idea of all the money this new job might be bringing in managed to warm his iron heart, so he sat back down, and finally filled his glass with black wine created from the grapes of some orchard growing upon Iiathum's one moon; nothing felt so good after a negotiations and a grilling than his wine.

--

"Warping out in five..."

Every tint and shade of red and blue blinked throughout the narrow halls, rooms, and bulkheads of the Iron Viper as engines warmed and power cores charged.

"Four..."

Shields flicker to life; barriers of protective energy powered by the energies of now active cores, screaming from within the warships bulk.

"Three..."

Weapons also become active; particle and photon cannons begin to move and turn; training on targets that did not exist; readying for the upcoming combat. Missile racks thousands deep armed, torpedoes of anti-matter armed themselves as well. Point-Defense cannons readied to protect their host ship with fast-moving slugs and energy rounds from whatever munitions they were soon to face. Millions of micro-anti drop mines also awoke, though still kept in a state of semi-slumber in safety's name.

"Two..."

Soldiers glad in gray-blue armor take up weapons and stand ready, secured in their harnesses and lined up in rows hundreds deep, all protected by the hulls of their carriers. Prefabricated bases and defenses were checked and rechecked despite the howl of klaxons and sirens echoing throughout.

"One..."

All thirty ships glowed like dying stars; encompassed in a variety of chroma indescribable by words and uncomprehendable by any organic eye or artificial instrument. All separated by thousands of kilometers in the formation of a claw; all fifteen cruisers ready to strike while the drop-ships, far bigger by comparison, waited further behind; talons attached to a wrist.

"Initiating warp out."

They entered the twisting aethernal realms that existed between the dimensions of space and time, leaving an echo of vast proportions in their wake. Flowing like drops of water through a tunnel of vibrating and pulsating energies every color that could be discerned by the eye. Energies that broke and obeyed every law of science known and unknown appeared and disappeared into the nothing that spawned them. They spent an eternity and more within that mystical realm, and then emerged as if no time at all had ever passed.

They all now existed in the reality containing the system of Rylloth, besieged by Mationbud forces; cruisers moving to engage the enemy with intense fervor and drop-ships dashing to the still-moving planet to provide what relief they could.

"General Oberstein, the Tribunal has decided your sentencing. Please stand."

The prisoner, General Wilhelm Oberstein, former commanding officer of the Second Infantry Division, and now war criminal, sullenly rose to his feet. I bet it'll be a firing squad, he thought to himself.

"On the charges of 25 counts of Murder, level Alpha, the sentence is death. For the charges of 38 counts of Murder, level Beta, the sentence is death."

Oberstein's eyes dropped to the floor. I hate when I'm right sometimes.

"However...."

His head snapped up, eyes focused intently on the judges.

"...due to extenuating circumstances, and taking into account your loyal and distinguished service to the Conglomerate, the sentence has been commuted to permanent exile."

His heart almost skipped a beat. He'd live after all, and then the reality hit him. He'd die away from home, forgotten and probably penniless.

"This court is dismissed."

+++

Later that evening...

Oberstein stumbled into his penthouse apartment, reeking of the smell of whiskey. He fumbled with his key card, leaning into the door and almost stumbling into the interior wall on the other side when it slid open. "Ah, he's home finally," he heard a voice say.

"What the hell?!" he slurred, reaching for his sidearm and finding it empty. Oh yeah, the whole convicted murderer thing..., his mind lazily realized.

"Mister Oberstein, welcome home."

Two suited men and a woman rose from their seats in his living room.

"Who the hell are you and what are you doing in my home?"

"Please, have a seat, its your couch after all. We'll explain everything in a moment."

The woman approached and handed him a large pill. "It'll clear your mind of the effects of your drinks, you'll need it."

Oberstein regarded it suspiciouslly, then swallowed it and sat down.

"Alright, now, who are you and why are you here?"

One of the men spoke up. "I am Arthur Cowdron, my companions are Elizabeth Lynch, and Howard Blanchard. We represent the firms Personnel Resource Solutions Incorporated, Barnett System Security, and Kleist Pharmaceuticals, respectively."

"...That's all very nice and all, but what does this have to do with me."

"You are unemployed and soon to be exiled to some foreign wasteland. We are looking for someone to lead an...expedition. These two situations could find a profitable mutual ground. Are you familiar with the situation on Ryloth?"

"No?"

"We figured that'd be the answer. It's essentially everything the court had in mind for you ending up on with your exile; it's remote, barren, and alien. It's also a den of corruption and vileness. They export....labor and other service workers, in direct competition with my own firm, and Mr. Blanchard's firm is interested in a drug called ryll that is the planet's other major export. The problem is the planet is currently being invaded."

"Alright, and what do you want me to do?"

"Both of our companies have emissaries currently on Ryloth, who may be endangered by the invasion, and we've hired Ms. Lynch's firm to ensure their safety and the protection of our commercial interests on that world. We want you to lead them."

"How much?"

"Two hundred thousand a year, plus medical benefits, and finally, the part I think you'll like. If, and I stress the 'if', the situation will allow it, you may at your own discretion, establish a...special economic and political zone on Ryloth, with yourself assuming the position of director."

"Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven, eh?"

"Precisely."

"....Alright, I'm in. It's the best offer, well, only offer, I've been given in terms of future employment, so why not?"

"We figured you'd agree." Cowdron produced a pen and contract from his briefcase, handing it to Oberstein.

"Sign on the line at the bottom, you'll be leaving tomorrow."

The Enslaver's External SGs began creating massive singularities which easily absorbed the damage while it and the other reinforcement SSDs began to rake the enemy vessel with 20 superlaser shots . It was enough to destroy at least 25 star destroyers ...

Then again, you should have thought of that...

As I see it, you have even less say in they're neutrality.

He didn't decide, that was George Lucas, whose right to do so comes from his having invented them. Ryloth is in hutt space, and thus has bigger worries than the distant Empire. Of course, they're technically in the 'proper' SW GE anyway, what with having a representative in the senate... And I'm almost tempted to offer to RP them, but I rather doubt you'd be willing to accept that. I'm also almost tempted to intervene, and so on...

"After all this, the Mationbuds contiguent wants a truce? I say no!" A member of the Twi'lek Head Clan Council spoke in his native language. "When they assaulted us, did the Empire stop them? No! When they invaded Ryloth, who was the one to come in and assist? The Alliance. Reject it."

"Now hold on a second. We have an opportunity here. The Rebel Alliance can defeat Mationbuds over Ryloth. Then the Empire will simply swoop in and pick up the pieces. With the Empire as it is, we can't openly support the Alliance, we'll be crushed. But...there are always other methods of playing two sides against the middle..." Here is the reply to the Mationbuds Admiral:

"We don't recognize the nation of Mationbuds or its false promises of peace. We shall keep fighting until the empire of Mationbuds is driven off our homeland! Only the real Empire can make peace with us!"

With that, Ryloth's defensive cannons shot at the Mationbuds Admiral's shuttle. The range was long on the Solari vollies, but it was just as long on the opposing fire. And that meant the maneuverable Solari had the advantage. Superlasers grased shields, dropping the powerful defenses with ease. On the other hand, they didn't come near to actually tagging a single vessel, as the madly dodging Solari threw off their opponents aim. Missiles roared through the void, their salvoes packed thick enough to actually damage the fleet, until beams of coruscating energy, and shells full of buckshot began to tear through the vollies, ripping their numbers away to just a few hundred in mere minutes, and down to a spare score in just a moment longer. Those twenty remaining warheads were no threat to the vessels against which they were targetted, though they scorched through meters of armor, meters more remained beneath them. A single destroyer, less lucky than his fellows, caugh the leading edge of a superlaser blast, shattering the hull for the entire length of the vessel, leaving it effectively crippled until it could gather the enery to translate to FTL.

Solari vessels returned fire, belching coherent hatred at the staggering Super Star Destroyer. Missiles once again filled the void, as particle beams and MACs hammered at the shielding and superstructure in their own time. Unless the enemy closed the range there was no way they could stop the maneuverable and deadly Battlecruisers and Destroyers that faced them across the vastness of space. Eventually the behomoth would fall, and one threat would be removed from their targetting board. And so long as the Coredians stood up against the remainder of the fleet for awhile, the Solari could easily turn the tide of this battle in the rebellions favor.

The Alliance ships pressed their advantage, shunting thruster power into their turbolasers, seriously intensifying their firepower. No matter what the cost, the Enslaver must die!

One Victory Star Destroyer and several Frigates were destroyed due to intense enemy fire . Then the Imperial Flotilla's spirits and morale were lifted when the 2 reinforcing Flotillas appeared from hyperspace (see prev post) and opened fire on the Coredian and Mini Miehm fleet with 10 superlaser bolts and 2000 singularities .
The singularities were taken care of by a volley of friendly singularity fire, but even so, several cruisers and frigates were lost to the onslaught. But the Alliance continued to attack that one Enslaver with increased fury, leaving the rest of the enemy fleet to the Solarian League to kill.

The total 25 Imperial Star Destroyers slowly advanced towards the enemy ships , bristling with weaponary as they opened fire with full Turbolaser complements on 2 Coredian Star Destroyers . It was like 12:1 .No way it could survive the onslaught .

The two Coredian Star Destroyers and a Cruiser died with all hands lost, but the other three Coredian ships called for help as they cut loose with every weapon they have. Singularity torpedoes rained out at the Imperial Star Destroyers (2 torpedoes per Star Destroyer, making 50 torpedoes; I expect significant losses.) while the Coredian turbolasers concentrated their firepower on the Victories...

"All ships focus primary beam cannons on that big fucker with the super laser. Use everything else on the cruisers and frigates; they seem to be clustering around that big son of a bitch so lets see what they do when it's nothing but dust." The captain of the Iron Viper roared above the echoes of clamoring feet and fierce klaxons.

"Singularity torpedoes and large energy blasts incoming Captain!"

"Fuck 'em, we're not as fast as the Solari but we're good enough. Get the Eppies to work their magic on those fucking singularity weapons, and tell the troop transports to hurry it the fuck up." Captain Vick Hammers yelled again over the noise.

Battle always breeds chaos within the close confines of a warship. Even the most seasoned of combat veterans succumb to the bestial ferocity within, even if the closest they ever get to the enemy is still to far to see with human eyes. The same held true for Vick; an experienced warrior of many mercenary campaigns, who now cared more for the rush of battle than he did the money he was constantly raking in. Some said he was crazy, and well: they were probably right.

If it meant more of a rush, then he'd probably do it, even if it meant the destruction of a large portion of his fleet. Though, that had yet to happen, so the company had little reason to remove him from his position as head of fleet War Axe, much less as captain of the Iron Viper. However, ever battle was like a new day: you never knew what was going to happen.

--

"We'll make love with the dirt in five..."

Whereas Vick Hammers was brimming with confidence, Jaeon Stakk was not. Entering a gravity well as the one produced by any large planet always made him queasy, as well as attempting to dodge the myriad of weapons fire that would surely come from the Mationbud troops already down below.

"Four... three... two..."

"Ready countermeasures!" He yelled, doing his best not to vomit. "Groups Quickshit and Landmine need to gain some high ground on the frigid side, so set them up north of the Mationbud ground forces. Groups Shitstain and Flamebait to the south where balls boil with anti-orbital weaponry and shielding ready. Everyone else will be with us: we're hitting them where they're the most heavily concentrated. Y'all ready?" The young black-haired Commissar Jaeon said while bracing his chair. Everyone not focused entirely on the ground as it rushed towards the ten craft cheered and cheered; a light-hearted battle cry for those who had never seen an actual battle despite their constant participation.

"One..."

Several ships landed north of the Mationbud forces; about a thousand men plus armored weapons of war and protection rushed towards the soon to be besieged foes. A few more landed on the hot side of the planet to the south, setting up defense positions above an area of great importance as far as the Twi'leks were concerned, a city of some sort or an entrance into their society: the forces didn't know that, and they didn't need to; they just had to defend it.

Meanwhile Jaeon and his group did what the others had no doubt done, though to a greater degree considering his was charging towards the enemy at a great pace: they spat forth from turrets and missile racks munitions to pound Empirical forces, evaded what retaliatory fire they could, and tried to land their two hundred meter masses safely upon the ground. Though some to less avail than others to be sure.

All the mines had been armed and released as well, though they were less than apt at taking at capital ships, they could destroy waves of TIE fighters and landing dropships. That is, if they were in the area and able to detonate; they whirled around the planet quickly, and were spread quite far apart, they were also barely hidden in subspace; so they might not see their target even if they are right on top of it. But the point wasn't to be effective: it was to discourage the enemy from quickly landing and more troops upon the surface of Ryloth.

All fifteen of the cruisers unleashed a silent hell storm of energy and missile fire. Particle cannons tore asunder the surrounding universe in their cerulean blue fires of continent slagging power, while the streams of death from the photon cannons, nigh invisible save what few emerald photons pealed off and escaped from the thin beam, lanced towards the Super Star Destroyer along with their particle cannon companions. Thousands of missiles lock stepped forth from their racks, rocketing againtowards the Super Star Destroyer, though some averted their attention towards enemies of lesser glory and power. Most detonated a few thousand kilometers from their target's vicinity; becoming focused explosions of planet cracking power; blood-red cones of annihilation. Others separated into smaller vehicles, becoming harder for PD fire to hit, while others still just cruised along at demonic speeds till they impacted the protective barrier of energy surrounding Mationbud ships.

They, of course, paled in comparison to the power unleashed by the cobalt hue of the Srael torpedoes that raced towards their foe, capable of turning moons to ash and oceans to mist. They joined in a hurricane of silent cacophonous ruin.

"Calling in reinforcements eh? Let the fuckers. Tell the Eppies to kill the floor beneath them." Vick said with a laugh as his ship rocked from another turbo laser blast.

The Epsilon Specialty Craft had been doing their jobs nigh-perfectly; manipulating the currents of gravity to divert the singularity torpedoes away from their companions. Though one fell victim to a super laser blast, the rest still lived. Now they all forced the entirety of their power on a spot only a few billion kilometers from their location: creating a massive gravity well that would rip the reinforcing Mationbud forces from hyperspace and leave them trapped far from the battle; forcing them to come in at sub-light speeds to aid friendly forces. The holes lasted for about an hour or so: about the time it would take the reinforcing fleets to arrive at those sub-light speeds. This left the Epsilon's burnt out, though still able to jam tactical systems aboard enemy ships and able to divert at least some of the singularity torpedoes away from the other ships.

The Fleet issued a fleetwide signal , at which all vessels began evasive maneouvours and began to dodge the incomming missiles . The SSDs deployed hundreds of Singularities using the Singularity Generators and Singularity Bombs .

PD Cannons and Quad Turbolaser batteries began actively targeting and blasting away at any remaining missiles . Nevertheless some missiles still hit , resulting in shield losses . The fleet then fired 4 superlaser blasts at the crippled enemy vessel ...

The Alliance ships pressed their advantage, shunting thruster power into their turbolasers, seriously intensifying their firepower. No matter what the cost, the Enslaver must die!

The singularities were taken care of by a volley of friendly singularity fire, but even so, several cruisers and frigates were lost to the onslaught. But the Alliance continued to attack that one Enslaver with increased fury, leaving the rest of the enemy fleet to the Solarian League to kill.

OOC : Nah , there's a way to counter it .

IC :

The damaged Enslaver SSD retreated to behind friendly lines while the Imperial Star Destroyers handled the enemy Singularities with a volley of their own singularities and quad turbolaser fire .

They then returned fire with 5 singularity torps for each enemy Star Destroyer or Cruiser ...

"One..."

But their big advantage is superiro shields and a axail mounted superlaser . A wraith is much more powerful . Being 13 km in length , it is much more heavily armed and shielded as well as a more powerful superlaser than the enslaver .

"Attention all hands, jump engines are recharged and we are preparing for the final jump to Ryloth. Prepare for battle."

Klaxons sounded through the rapidly emptying corridors of the Bombardier, one of the security firm's planetary assault warships.

Weapons batteries charged, missile racks slotted into firing positions, and vacuum suited crewers ran to their duty stations as each compartment became its own self contained unit.

"Jump engines engaging."

General Oberstein, this time of Barnett System Security, clutched his at his belly instinctively as the familiar wave of nauseau from a foldspace jump rippled through him.

The bridge of the Bombardier exploded into activity as the ship, a massive grey slab of armor, weapons, and engines, appeared again in real space in low orbit over Ryloth.

Oberstein did nothing, merely watching as Captain Haldorf began rapidly firing off orders. Space activity is all firmly in Haldorf's domain, but the ground is for me.

+++

Weapons satellites spilled from hatches on the underside of the warship, engines propelling them into new orbital paths, and sensors combing the terrain below.

"Sir, CIC has identified five groundside surface installations as probable enemy garrison bases."

"Take them out."

One of the satellites dumped its payload, sending over a hundred silver spheres tumbling into the atmosphere on insertion paths that would terminate at the enemy positions. Well, terminate above the Mationbuds positions, as each sphere was a one megaton nuclear bomb with a 500 meter detonation altitude. The cluster of enemy bases would find themselves inside the radius of the fireballs themselves, exposed to a fury of atomic energy that would be like being dumped into a star.

Provided there was anything left for the nukes to kill, as simultaneously, Bombardier's ventral weapons bays engaged the enemy, carving into the ground with capital ship strength grasers, and sweeping across any other enemy positions with railgun and graser fire.

Defense officers snapped into action, and EW/ECM drones shot from it, mimicing their mother's emission signatures. The massive warship dumped another weapons satellite and a decoy into the same orbit as it, then gently adjusted itself onto a new path to confuse and evade any enemy sensors. The final piece of the warship's defenses slid into place as 100 meter tethered shield drones gently floated away from their docking positions on the hull, establishing themselves into positions between the dueling fleets and their mothership.

Wow, grow the hell up. Anyone can see you're doing whatever you can to ignore other nations so you can win your little battle here.

The fact you failed to post damaged al la SQ style by nit picking on one wholly irrelevant thing, the fact you wont stop bitching about people RPing with/as the Twi'leks in a manner in which you don't find "realistic" because it puts a wrench into your plans, and your stereotypical damage evasion via singularity torps and ESP as it pertains to what we're doing/going to do. Acknowledged. Will comply.

There is no chance to survive. Surrender your vessels and stand down your weapons. You have destroyed one small vessel, while many yet remain. If you do not surrender we will strip your vessels of their crews, and take them for ourselves. Ponder on these words. The evil that men do lives on and on. The men that do evil have considerably shorter lifespans. Make your time.

The massive prow mounted PPCs of the ten solari battlecruisers focused themselves as one on the tattered hulk of the damaged Enslaver. Beams that easily rivalled any superlaser(to be specific, equivalent to the superlaser onboard the Errant Venture, an Imperial SD owned by smuggler Booster Terrik) in their power lanced from their prows, connecting on one point in space. More swift than any Turbolaser based energy weapon, there would be no time for the damaged vessel to dodge this salvo, and even if it tried, they could track their vessels across it more easilty than it could avoid them. Only one needed to hit to get the message across.

Masses of torpedoes rippled from the Solari vessels once again. This time they bore deadlier payloads than any antimatter warhead or fusion decvice. Detonating well short of any intended target, each created a massive, albiettemporary, wound in reality, which would inexorably draw in even the largest vessel, sending it flying through the untamed depths of what the solari had termed Hyperspace and was colloquially known as the "radzone". Thousands of shiops in the early years of the League had attemptred to traverse it. All had arrived at their destinations fully intact. Their crews on the other hand were not so lucky. Their bodies were torn to pieces by radiation that shattered shields, no matter how powerful, and no matter the size of the vessel. No one had ever survived a trip through the void, ever. It would be no different this time. Theyhadn't bothered targetting ISDs, but eventually they would, and when they did, the battle would be over. No one opposed WRATHCHILD and won. No one killed his children and survived...

Then when I finally land: you claim that you can't respond because the words "vac suit, men wearing, protected therefore" were not in some form or another, explicitly thrown into my post. Despite the fact that anyone else would have picked up the implication that indeed they were protected what with Jeaon mentioning the fact one side is hot and the other cold. Or the fact what was happening on the ground was wholly irrelevant to what happened in space: my men could have all become steam or mancicles it doesn't matter: my ships still fired at your ships in space. Then you don't reply, and you don't reply some more. Then I start getting pissy: who wouldn't, and you predicate this ignore of yours upon my posts based on the fact I am "cussing." Wow, grow the hell up.

Well whatever: you're ignored and so is your claim here. And before you bitch to the mods: what I've outlined above, actions performed by yourself, can probably be constrewed as flamebait in some manner, considering you've been such an ass through this hole thing.

And with that, I leave I guess.

Also nice with the taking the lord's name in vain, and then bitching at me for cussing. Like no one could tell you were being a hypocrite.

OOC: The Warmaster supercedes all Grand Moffs and all established command structures, answerable only to the Emperor. As a result, I can dictate orders to you. This would apply if the leadership takes a hand in righting your debacle.

However in the Command Flow-Chart , I do not recall seeing the Warmaster above the Moffs or Special Forces , who also have a direct link to the Emperor .

Mmmm, yes, great response. Obviously you read in totality everything I said in the post you quoted, because I didn't say anything to that affect already .

The targetted destroyer shattered under the assault. Pressed into battle, there had been no time to back up its personality files. It was truly dead for all time.

Assesment of capabilities requested./query Request update on status release codes Warp Tordpedoes./query

Limited tactical ability. Reliance on prow mounted cannon. Avoid direct facing of larger vessels. Presence of singularities is inconvenient. Remedy the situation posthaste./response Release codes on Warp Torpedoes granted. Full arsenal activated. Try not to miss./response

Acknowledged. Will comply.

IC :

The largest vessel present , which would be the Wraith SSD tripled up its shields . Imperial class vessels were well known for their shield's capability from absorbing or deflecting radiation . The incomming radiation was absorbed and deflected as best , but of course some did get through and men were reported to be falling ill , one or two dying immediately .

The anti-matter missiles did more damage , destroying an Imperial Star Destroyer totally , with most hands lost . Some had managed to escape by escape pods .

The battle looked bleak until an Imperial reinforcement wave sent from Vagabond Planet arrived . The largest Imperial Attack fleet had arrived , along with the most powerful vessel ... the Tyrant SSD , a massive 47km vessel which was packed to the brim with armor , shielding and firepower .

Along the other sides , the Solari fleet was trapped by hundreds of Star Destroyers and Interdictor Cruisers which had surrounded the Solari Fleet together with 20 Enslaver and Wraith Super Star Destroyers as they activated their FTLi fielding and obstructed the Solari Fleet from escaping .

Millions of turbolaser fire and thousands of Singularity Missiles and thousands of anti-matter missiles . Hundred thousands of terraton Nuclear Warheads raced towards the enemy ships and detonated , sending huge amounts of radiation through the enemy vessels . 30 superlaser shots rang out from the Enslaver and Wraith SSDs to the enemy capital ship .

The Tyrant Super Star Destroyer itself fired 10 fully charged superlaser bolts at the enemy flagship , each capable of destroying an entire planet and rendering any shields in its way useless . It showered the area with 2000 Singularity Missiles and 2000 Anti-Matter Missiles .

It then fired off 20 barrages of turbolaser shots , each barrage capable of reducing 2 fully shielded Imperial Star Destroyers to dust ... The Solari and WRATHCHILD had no hope now .

Nah , I have also been into discussions with Coruscant and I plan on insisting that I be NOT answerable to you and only to the Emperor alone .

OOC: Much as I'm loath to support Chronosia when he's consipicuously not posting for me ;) ... There's plenty of preceedent for this. Though the title of 'Warmaster' isn't one from Palpatine's Empire, Warlord was. Warlords, like Lord Vader, Admiral Giel, and the Grand Admirals were not answerable to Grand Moffs, and had freedom to roam the Galaxy in pursuit of their orders from the Emperor, and ride roughshod over local governors when they wished to. (Lord Vader, on the Death Star, was not CO, which is why he was answering to Tarkin. He was there to butcher Tarkin if Tarkin got any ideas...)

On a related note, I notice that the Unification thread just went belly up. How'd I guess that when one character force-pushes another, it's going to be waved aside with a flick? :p

Damnit, do something interesting. Force-throw a glass of wine into his face or something...

And, because I hate posting only OOC in a thread, and because I feel like fixing the craphole planet. IC...

Epilogue: Some months later

A cruiser class vessel of about six hundred and fifty meters slipped into orbit around Ryloth, and later landed on the hottest point of the bright side of the planet, under the protective influence of its mirror-shielding, which reduced the glare entering the area to earth-normal. Shuttles and drop-ships flitted between cities from this equidistant point, ferrying diplomats and negotiators to and fro to different cities. Eventually, agreements were reached for trade on rather generous terms, investments that would prevent the inhabitants ever having to sell thier daughters to slavers in the future – among them, the adjustment of Ryloth’s orbit to one more suited for life with a ‘natural’ day-night cycle appropriate for the inhabitants’ bodily processes. And then, it left, allowing other craft, in time, to appear and begin carrying out the arrangement, headed for other planets in the surrounding area…
