The first Hive-Fort was complete. Metal and stone, brick and wood, had all come together to form a powerful-looking fort. The smaller Hives along the Aldanum border were tiny indeed, barely containing a few thousand Lesser Tya'norians, and the Sha'mina there were worried. The Alliance, to the northeast, was powerful indeed. They had not truly had friendships with them, but, in any case, the isolation Tya'noria had been in for the last few decades was simply not going to last.
The Hive-Fort was fairly small - barely extending above the ground. However, a Gantae Queen would take up residence in the network of tunnels below, as five hundred Gantae had already been dispatched to the Fort. Without a doubt, it would suffice. In the middle of the Tya'dor-Aldanum border, this Hive-Fort was growing greatly. It would become both a city and a place of defense, a place of trade, and a place of war.. Those on the other side of the border would no doubt notice it.
A few Tya'dorians clicked at each other impatiently as they prepared to lift another stone onto the wall of the Hive. The old forts would no longer suffice, those brick-and-mortar constructions, easily made, fashioned with a mere few hundred Gantae in them each. The defenses of Tya'doria had to be established, to protect the Hive. The Hive-Fort almost looked as if it were alive, each stone placed expertly, squirts of greenish mortarlike substances holding them together - a vision of perfect symmetry.
As the Tya'dorians looked approvingly at the wall, Gantae sped down the road, their legs kicking up a storm of dusk. The beetlelike Gantae would be the first ones to occupy this fort, the garrison that would guard the centre of the border. Others would come later, but, for now, Tya'doria wished to be strong, and without danger. The clicking grew louder, approvingly, as the fort was filled with the Gantae..
