Nation Name: The Tya'norian Realm
Inhabitants: Tya'norians, (0.001%), Lesser Tya'norians (99.8%), Sha'mina (0.2%)
Population: 60.92 million
History: The Tya'norian Realm stems back to the legendary time of the First Hive. At the time, the Tya'norians were simple creatures, little more intelligent than ants, or perhaps bees. They had a hive along the Great River, the river which gave them life.
However, an aberration occurred. A Sha'mina. The Sha'mina were simple beings, and simply focused the will of every being within the hive. Suddenly, the hive became a home of art, of power, and of invention. It expanded. The Sha'mina gave birth to the seven Great Hives, the seven cities which ruled the river since time immemorial.
This, however, led to the destruction of humanity, elves, dwarves... a nation was nearby. The Sha'mina led their forces, forces of sheer destruction into the nation, crushing cities and villages alike, until a mage appeared. His name is lost, but he destroyed the Tya'norian army. This was named the Turning. The Turning created the true Tya'norians - the capricious, strange, long-lived delicate flying magi-creatures, who, in turn, on a mere whim, crushed the nation that existed there, slaughtering the mages of the enemy with utter ease.
This marked the expansion of the Realm, which quickly grew, from a mere few thousand Tya'norians, into one of many millions, the Realm growing far quicker than those nations around it. However, the Greater Tya'norians were 'immune' to the hive-minds. In fact, they could control the Sha'mina with pitiable ease, quickly enslaving the nation to their will.
As Tya'noria pushed the humans of that kingdom back, the weakening of humanity within the region allowed The Phylaa Imperium to rise, as the power of the kingdom that once occupied the area was shattered.
Tya'noria never met another foe - but the nation exists solely to serve the Greater Tya'norians (Which are now merely known as Tya'norians), and, although it has desires, and wishes for expansion, the entire nation would commit suicide to serve the whim of a Greater Tya'norian.
Capitol: The Floating City. The Floating City is immense - a hive, floating in the air. Seven ancient crystalline structures keep it afloat, and the Floating City is the gathering place of all the Greater Tya'norians. It is virtually indestructable, even the most powerful of cannon unable to scratch its surface. The Floating City houses around twenty thousand Tya'norians, who are only there to feed, and house, the Greater Tya'norians.
Cities:
The Seven Hives, along the Northern River, make up the majority of Tya'noria's population, almost forty million. These massive cities extend deep underground, as well as far into the sky, and are where the majority of soldiers are bred.
The Eighth Hive, on the edge of the Southern River, is a smaller Hive, with two million Tya'norians. The Eighth Hive is the only true Hive in that area, as a Hive is defined by the Sha'mina within it - when you have a single Sha'mina for every thousand Tya'norians, a Hive can be facilitated, without crippling inefficiency.
The majority of Tya'norian Warrior Hives are in the Western Forest, or along the Western Marches (the area next to the Western Forest), as are the mines. Tya'norians do not use many metals, as they can spin their own armor, grow their own silk, indeed, the greatest need Tya'noria has is food - something that the area south of the Northern River provides amply.
The Tya'norian Army
Gantae - The Gantae are six-legged, large insectoid creatures, unable to wield tools. However, they are easily as fast as horses, and their thick, multi-layered carapace makes them excellent against ranged weapons. When fighting enemies from below (in trenches, for instance), their soft underbelly makes them vulnerable, but they can easily tear apart unarmored soldiers with utter ease, and their speed, both in the short and long-term, makes them excellent whilst fighting on campaign. The Gantae are the only part of Tya'noria to have egg-laying queens, as they are bred in Warrior Hives, by the thousand. When the Tya'norian Realm is allied to other nations, the Gantae are often used as cavalry, or transport, to other troops.
Ysll - The Ysll are small, flying creatures. Only about the size of a bat, their poisoned claws, and the acid they spit makes them both hard to hit, and powerful against lone units of troops. The Ysll are used as scouts, being keenly intelligent, as well as slaughtering enemy patrols. They have dragonfly-like wings, and are easy to hear, although not so easy to spot.
Greater Ysll - Massive, armored beasts, which shoot acid quite some distance. It eats through metal and flesh alike, and their sharp, many claws make them deadly against other flying beasts. Greater Ysll often carry many normal Ysll under their great wings, and are few in number.
Argent - The Argent are the pure-white, six-legged tool-users of the army. They are the most varied, and have many forms, from those bred to use siege weapons, to those bred to use muskets, the Argent form the majority of those who use the ranged weapons within the army, and create the fortifications. They are the second-most numerous, and, although lacking the sheer adaptability of a human, are both tougher, and faster.
Kendyn Isles - The Kendyn Isles are great, almost behemoth 'islands', insects that can swim, and sink normal boats easily. Although only fifteen Kendyn Isles exist, they are submersible, and tend to shatter enemy fleets when they stand. They require massive amounts of food, however, and are generally foraging in the seas. They also serve as transports, able to carry a thousand Gantae each.
Greater Tya'norians - Only two truly serve within the army, out of a few hundred. A Greater Tya'norian can easily shatter a city with a whim, although the amount of power one wields varies from being to being. All Greater Tya'norians have shimmering, dragonfly wings, in a butterfly-wing shape, and do not possess legs, in truth. Their carapace is thin, and their command of the raw magic that permeates the world is great. Greater Tya'norians are not part of the Hives, and may command a Hive to any purporse.
