Dream as if you'll live forever...

Samtonia

...live as if you'll die today.
-James Dean

[OOC- Right. This is something that's going to be dealing with rather substantial changes to a few areas of Samtonia. Because of the importance (in my biased mind) of the things that will be taking place here, I'm going to ask anyone who hasn't been invited in by me at this point in time to TG me for admittance into this thread. No offence is intended or anything of that nature to people I've either forgotten to invite or people who I'm going to regretfully bar from the thread.

Of course, news stories and the like are allowed. Active participation through characters is what I'm trying to watch for, but foreign news organizations putting up news is fine by me as long as it doesn't detract from the thread.]

Drucker Announces Trade Summit
A Tagespost exclusive

Speaking at a press conference in Bronshaven today, Minister of Economics James Drucker announced the official word of an Economic Summit to occur in Bronshaven within the month. Citing its position as one of the major trading ports in Samtonia, with numerous foreign connectinos as a result of its trade, Drucker reiterated his promise to broaden the depth of the Samtonian economy to prevent the disastrous recession as was seen in Sarzonia recently.

“This summit is an assured boon for Samtonia, with what I see as increased ties with valuable allies to result,” Drucker said to the assmebled domestic dignataries and press. “Allies, mind you, not just in the geo-political sense but also economically. After seeing the spectacular crash in sarzonia that tresulted in concentrating on only one sector of the economy, my ministry has been working hard to diversify Samtonian economic interests through numerous initiatives. This summit will be the culmination of one of those initiatives, designed to try to increase foreign investment, both for Samtonia and in Samtonia.”

Minister drucker also announced the timetable for the Summit, with greeting by the entire Council of Thirteen on the opening day of it to all foreign representatives one of the main highlights. Tours of the Bronshaven area and excursions to some of the large fijords in the general area are also expected to be offered to foreign representatives. Regardless of the itinerary, Minister Drucker expects to have “a memorable and productive summit with many varied nations.”

Re: Trade Summit

Greetings, friend! It is with great interest that I learned of your proposed trade summit in the city of Bronshaven. Being an economics major during my college years, I was disappointed when I heard of the recession in Sarzonia. It is with this turn of events in mind that I would enjoy a trip to Bronshaven personally, to attend the conference. If you will have me, I will depart on HMS Portsmouth as soon as necessary.

Yours,
King Andrew I, monarch of the Constitutional Monarchy of Treblador

"Hmmm... an economic summit?" The High Commander looked at Agent 283. "I'm an old wardog, 283. Why are you bringing some meeting about money and saving the Samtonian economy? I don't know anywhere near as much as Vercetti."

283 nodded. "I know that, sir. There are rumors about you, though. Rumors that you are unable to leave Crimmond because of your age and health." Not far from the truth, honestly. "This will allow you to prove them wrong and will show that you truely care about our allies, in one move. There have been rumors that you only care about Pantera and Automagfreek, because of their history with the Empire. This will prove your naysayers wrong."

"Very well. Have Vercetti briefed. He's coming with me. Oh and... no body guards. The Gray Haired Man is all I need." The High Commander said, refering to Vercetti's nickname with the media, and turned to the out of place computer terminal sitting on the ancient desk. 283 nodded and left the room.

I would be glad to personally attend this summit, along with a man of mre expertise on the subject than I have.

This should prove profitable to both our nations and will serve as one more link in the chain of Gholgoth's economic might.

[OOC: Change of plans.]

The Gray Haired Man and The High Commander were heading towards the private heliport attached to the palace, as a runner came up with a message. Coleman read it and hmmphs. "Looks like you're going alone, Vercetti. Transylvania is throwing a party for Gholgothian leaders. That fits my purposes better than this summit where I'd be dead weight. You have my full authorization to make any deal you see fit, so long as it is legal and you arent taking a cut off the top."

Vercetti though about objecting to such implications, then just nodded. "Very well, High Commander."

Vercetti boarded the plane and sent a message to Drucker, outlining that the High Commander had decided that he would be of more use to the Empire in Transylvania, though Vercetti himself would still be attending the summit, with full decision making powers.
