General Information
Aurigea is a collection of islands located in the Mideel area with a population of 5 million. It has a cool and wet with rainfall usually around 3,000 mm per year. Heavy forests make overland travel difficult but provide excellent grounds for ship building and the hilly landscape makes for poor farming while high cliffs make up the coast of the island and offer excellent protection from invasion. There are only a few sources of iron with all of them located on the main island; stone quarries however are plentiful which provides for rather stout fortifications. Aurigea is ruled by a republic.
People
Aurigeans are fantastic shipbuilers and are fisherman and carpenters by trade. They are also excellent engineers and navigators. Their ships are unmatched in the world.
Military
The Aurigean military consists of seven components and is organized in the form of legions (5,400 troops). The structure of a legion is thus:

200 Siege/Artillery
There are 10 standing legions in the Aurigean Army for a total manpower of 81,000 men (including logistics).
The Aurigean navy while small is very well armed and trained. Consisting of only 225 dromons (battleship), the navy boasts some 29,000 men (including logistics) and is among the most disciplined and effective in the world. The ships are armed with catapults and Greek fire.

Defenses
Due to the abundance of stone, all Aurigean towns are walled off and defended by a series of towers. The key city/fortress is called Sacred Guarde and in addition to its immensely thick outer walls, it is also fortified with hundreds of catapults and has towers lacing both the out walls and farther into the city.
