Though the recent bill of Civil Rights has been embraced by the majority of Tocrowkian Civilians, it has also left some unsatisfied and angered. The racialist and supremacist ideas were liked by several groups, and the new openness and accepting nature of the new Tocrowkian Government has left them, put bluntly, pissed off.
Several small, radical groups, which have been collectively labeled "The Purity Alliance" by both Government and the newly independant media, have seized control of several neighborhoods in capital city of Pharamas. With a population of over 120 million, Pharamas is one of the most heavily and densely populated cities on Earth. How ever, the Government ensures it's people and the international community that the Purity Alliance's holdings are minute when compared to the size of the rest of the city (So far, they officially hold six out of over two thousand three hundred official neighborhoods.)
Still, the bloodiness of conflict cannot be denied. Purity Alliance members have attacked police patrols with automatic rifles, RPGs and IEDs. This has led the Police Department to use increasingly enhanced arsenals, such as APCs and fully automatic weapons. Two divisions of the Tocrowkian Army have also been called in to help pacify the regions.
And despite Government reassurances, the neighborhoods in question increasingly take on the look of battlefields. Burnt out buildings, destroyed vehicles, dead bodies and fires are a common sight here.
So far, over four hundred men and women of the Pharamas Police Department and the Tocrowkian Military have lost their lives in the defense of their new found freedom. There are also signs that a resurgent, radicalized TLA (Tocrowkian Liberation Army) have been moving into the area to battle both the Purity Alliance and Government forces.
