A lone vessel floated throughout the void, a solar system with a dieing sun, and only one planet that had been ravaged and left barren of life of any kind, the atmosphere filled with hostile gasses. The rest a black emptyness that surrounded the starship, intending to swallow it whole but unable to overcome the grey hulls and the small, blinking red lights that lined the sides. The crew of the medium sized scouting transport, dumbstruck and frozen, stared at the display screen infront of them.
A ring. Suspended in the nothingness that surrounded it. Formed of a metal that reflected the soft light from the expiring star, the inner sections a landscape portrait. Lush green, with blue coursing through, or seperating. A winter scenario, streching a long portion between two oceans. And countless islands of both land and water dotted the entire scene.
The lone ship conducted scans, detailing the location of several of the more openly placed installations, and more then likely sent a report to its superiors. But in less than half an hour of coming in sight of the spacial wonder, a blast of energy emerged from the ring, erassing the unexpecting vessel from existence.
