The Blitz North, a prelude to war?

Gunkoku

OOC: open to public, but please be realistic in your actions.

Gunkoku National News/ Special Report:
Early this morning Gunkoku’s Imperial Army marched across the northern border into the Disputed Territory (formerly Southern Bushijatagi). This action is believed to be in response to ongoing fighting within the region, which the newly elected Consul Ushio has seen as a threat to national security.
Furthermore is the dispute over who has sovereignty over the territory, which has been in dispute since the end of the Gun-Bushi war. Many people believe that this event could very well spark a second war in which is predicted by Bushi’s military officials to be “A devastating a bloody conflict.”
Army Commander Yugure said today
“It is in the best interest of this state to take control in the territory to help preserve peace and stability throughout the region.” Bushijatagi was supposed to deploy units into the region for security reasons which Gunkoku officials say was never accomplished nor was it attempted.
As always in these situations we urge the people to stay calm and to avoid travel in the northern region as this could bog-down military movement.

We would also like to stress the fact that although me dployed less than promised we did deploy many units into the D.T
And to be perfectly clear we are far more prepared for war than the last time and we will not need to rely soley on outside nations for support.

TO: Leadership of Gunkoku
FROM: George A. Loak, Supreme Emperor of the Dark Empire of Shazbotdom

The Dark Empire of Shazbotdom is disturbed as to the reasons why you are invading this land yet again. Why don't you just beef up your boarder patrols and call it a night? Why must you insist on trying to concour a land that does not want your government? These are things that we wish to know answers to.

Until then, we will keep an eye on this situation to see if it spirals out of control, and if it does, we will interfear on the behalf of keeping peace. Watch yourself young one.

Farbanti, Neo-Erusea:

It has been quite a while since the last Gunku-Bushi conflict. It remains now only in the memories of those who served there and their kin, along with anyone who reads an up-to-date history book. In the capitol building David Mondol, dictator of Neo-Erusea, was being informed of the crisis. "Sir," said Chris Grisal, minister of foreign affairs, "tensions are sparking in the Kessen Mountain Range. It looks like Gunkoku and Bushijatagi are going to be at it again."
"So, what else is new?" Mondol still remembered the tensions that almost started a second conflict.
"Well, Neucom Inc has just-"
"Don't make me fire you."
"Well, the Guko Imperial Army is on their way to the border." With that Mondol turned to his minister of defense, and said, "Mobilize the Republican Army. We must deter Ushio from invading..." Ushio? That bastard! We should have killed him in the first war. This time he will die.

"Uhh Sir?" An aide asked President Andrei Johnson. The president quickly looked up at the aide.

"What is it?" He asked noting the look of dread on the face of the Aide.

"Conflicts are raging in the Kessen Moutain Region.... again, Sir" The Aide said handing the President a Folder Marked Top Secret. It was Ushio's file. The file that had been made during the first Conflict and the file that had been updated during the second one.

"Three Strikes and your out, Ushio" The President said waving the Aide off. He pressed a few buttons and received a phone call from his Defense Minister.

"Well, what you do?" asked the President. There was a pause.

"Intervene" The Minister said.

"Ok" Said the President "Deploy an Expeditionary Force to the Region".

"Roger" The Minister said and hung up the phone.

"Um sir, Gunkoku is at it again." The Prime Minister shook his head and sighed in his chair.
"Let me guess it has to do with Bushijatagi."
"Uh..Yes sir."
"Figure's, um alright send a small N.E.F over to monitor the situation and get some special forces on the ground."
"Yes sir I'll get right on it."
A portion of the 5th N.E.F (Naval Expeditionary Force) was mobilized to south Bushijatagi from Tolvin. There orders were to observe the situation and if war broke out to assist Bushijatagi forces against the invading army.

Meanwhile The 1st SOD (Special Operations Detachment) inserted a small four-man squad a few miles from Edirne before the Gunkoku forces could arrive. They HALO Jumped from a C-130 at high altitude full of food and supplies to last them for weeks. Their Mission was to observe the Gunkoku forces movements and relay intel about how many their where, what type of vehicles they had and so on. They landed at night to avoid being spotted and touched down as quiet as possible. Each man disposed of their parachutes and started to regroup. First they needed to find a hiding spot.

"Sir," Chairman Nagaraku Ryouta's secretary Miguela said, standing in the doorway, "Something's happening in Southern Bushijitagi again."
"That place that was invaded by that other place a while ago?" Chairman Nagaraku said, taking the report from his secretary's hands.
"You are the most specific person I know," Miguela muttered.
Chairman Nagaraku read over the report. These Gunkoku guys really didn't know when to quit. Last time, they had their nation occupied, and had to apologize for the whole thing. It was a disaster for them. Yet, they were doing it again! All under this "Uniting our territories" bullshit.
"Well they are called 'Gun Nation...'" the Chairman sighed, "I tend to leave small squabbles to small nations, but we don't have a choice here. This guy Ushio is imperialistically insane. Tell Saki...stop him."

Consul Ushio, address to the world:
It has come to my attention that the world seems to be against us, and perhaps rightfuly so, but that will not deter our armed forces, our goverment, or our people. I wish to make it clear that our movments into the DT region where strictly defensive. An effort by the goverment to preserve the saftey of its people from the radical groups developing there. The last thing we want is an armed conflict with Bushijatagi, and we inted them no harm as of this moment.
I am deeply troubled by the actions of the former consul, Consul Akagi, whom I severd under as Army Comander. As a man in that position I am fully aware of the horros of war and the last thing I wish is to send my people into such a conflict.
Let it be known throught the world that I am humble in my words and that I am a man of honor and I will do all I can to see this matter through to a peacful end. Sergeant Peter rice, the commander of the squad starting setting up the med range radio so he could contact the fleet. The Next day the SOD squad readed for a scouting mission. They hadn't received any new orders from the fleet so they assumed nothing new was happening. The squad carried commercial weaponry that anybody could get there hands on. There weapons included the basic equipment like the M16A4 and M-249 SAW among other usually weapons. There was also no way to tell what country they were from considering they had no flag patch on there uniforms, There dog tag’s were gone and stated before they had weapons that anybody could have.

Sergeant Peter and Corporal Steven Taylor readed there equipment for the mission. The last of the 36 F-22s lifted off from Runway 4 a little before 1900 hours local time and joined its comrades in a race track pattern over the base. Moments later the group set out towards Ocion's northen border (and only coastline), once they cleared land the Raptors engaged their supercruise capability and set off towards the first rendevous point. Each plane carried 2 600 gallon drop tanks externally expanding their range to nearly 1,800 miles. "Message from MCI (Military Command and Intelligence) sir" said the Intelligence officer as he handed the message to Kevin. The message read that Tong must be handed over to Gunkoku within 24 hours or Gunkoku will consider it an act of war. His orders where now to monitor the southern border and be prepared for war. New orders where given to the SOD squad which needed to be relayed from the fleet to them. Kevin sat there and just thinked for a long time. He couldn't believe how fast the situation had gotten out of hand and that now he could have to fight a war for another nation. Finally he said "General Quarters for the entire fleet. Get the Naval fighters ready for take off and put togther a list of Gunkoku targets that need to be hit it if war brakes. Get an entire bombing campaign set up so where ready the second the first shot is fired."
"Yes Sir!" As soon as the order came out one of the officers grabed the mic and said "General Quarters! General Quarters! All hands man your battle stations!" Alarms blared as sailors scrambled to there stations.

DT:
As Sergeant Peter and Corporal Steven were trucking threw the forest there two way radios suddenly came on. Peter quickly grabbed his radio and said,
(I thought I tolled you not to use the radio while were on mission.)
"I dachte, daß ich Sie, um läutete den Radio nicht zu benutzen, während waren auf Mission."
(I know sir but this is important. We have new orders from the fleet but there not pretty.)
"ich kenne Sir, aber dieser ist wichtig. Wir haben neue Aufträge von der Flotte aber dort nicht recht."
(Lay it on me private.)
"legen Sie es auf mich privat."
(Alright here goes, In response to the Gunkoku's threat of war your squad will be tasked with demolishing the enemies capacity to fight by destroying there supply cashes, artillery pieces really anything that will hurt there advance. Now we want to make this clear, we'll only allow you to conduct guerilla warfare if war breaks out. In the meantime select your targets so your ready if the time comes.)
Peter just sat there for a second but then finally responded "Roger, Beginnen OP jetzt." Peter and Steven quickly headed out towards the nearest Gunkoku base confirmed by Sat photos before they jumped. As they closed in the two men slowly laid down and very slowly crawled towards a good observation point so they could pick their "possible" targets.

SCENE: Shazbotdom Bay
The new ships of the fleet set sail towards Gunkokui territorial waters. Their orders were to head at high speed as they exited out of the bay, roughly 35 knotts. Each of the aircraft carriers had half of their compliment of aircraft set as AC-02 Garrison aircraft and the other half set as the recently created Thunderbolt aircraft. The USS Higenson was named the flag ship for this section of the fleet. There was no telling what would happen as they were to approach the territioral waters of the nation of Gunkoku but they were prepared for anything.

As the ships exited the bay they began to start their orders, kicking the ships into high gear. Captain Branson was the Captain of the Higenson. He was standing on the balcony outside of the bridge, watching the crew starting to prepare the flight deck for the first launch of aircrafts. The preparations were currently underway when a radio transmission came in. The first officer walked out and got the captain. As they both walked in, the captain turned to see Thero Island passing them to the right. Branson sighed as this was going to be the longest tour of duty that he would ever be a part of. As he walked to the radio room, he put on a headset to listen to the tranmission.

"This is getting old." said David Mondol as he was reviewing what was going on in the Kessen Mountain Range. The Chris Grisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs and George Cunnin, Minister of Defense, were with him. The three were deciding whether or not to become involved. The Geofron battle group was stationed nearby and could be called upon to invade. "Well" said Cunnin, "if we did invade we wouldn't be alone. There is Ustia and Shazbotdom on the offensive." After a short discussion the descision was made, and Neo-Erusea would join the allies.
***************************
The Geofron battle group was notified of the government's descision. The fleet set its course to Gunkoku waters, and a Yedinorog vessel released three rubber crafts with Republican Marines on them. Lieutenant Alex Zewun and his men were skimming on the waves as the Bushi shores became closer and closer. "This is Spetsnaz (special forces) 1, all units report in."
"This is Spetsnaz 2, we are two clicks away from Bushijatagi."
"This is Spetsnaz 3, everything is in the green."
"Mission is go." The three crafts landed on the beach, and the Neo-Erusean special ops, nine in all, scurried inland. Eight had standard AK-101 rifles and one, in Spetsnaz 2, had a SV-98 sniper rifle. Several were equiped with C4, others were tasked with carrying supplies. The group came inland until the were coming up onto a Gunkoku base.

As the Spetsnaz teams appoached, they saw several men prone behind some bushes. "What the hell?" whispered Zewun. The sniper took over, scoping the armed soldiers. "These aren't from Gunkoku or Bushi," he proclaimed, "they're Ustian."
"Ustian?" asked Zewun.
"Yeah. Maybe we should say hi." joked the sniper. Zewun decided to go, but he knew little German. Please tell me they speak Russian. Oh, who am I kidding. Maybe at least English. I know some English. He went up to them and said with his arms up to his shoulder level. "Ich ein Neo-Erusea." He pointed to the ominous logo on his left armband. "Ich nein spreche Deutsch." He hoped that they understood. The rest of his men wacthed with anxiety.

What the NE troops thought were Peter and Steven were actually just there Ghillie suits filled up with stuff they found in the forest and the movement in the bushes was being done by strings that they would pull. Actually the two of them were to the sides of the Lieutenant. Peter slowly got up and walked towards the Lieutenant. Steven covered him all the way as he moved from the left while at the same time saying in Russian, "that’s alright, I speak perfect Russian. So why is Neo-Erusea's Spetsnaz here?"

If anything you should be condeming Bushijatagi for their pathetic trial, the lack of action against the BFG, and as records have just shown finnacial aid to the BFG. And inspite of all of this all the allies can focus on is, that we pushed into the DT, which we did only because Bushi was not taking up the torch against the rebel factions in the region. I see no reason to support Bushi, and the removal of our troops is unlikely to last long, since we already know Bushi won't send troops in to quel the fighting.[/FONT]

This has unnecessarily gotten out of hand. Ustia questions the actions of both Bushijatagi and Gunkoku. The nation of Bushijatagi has no right to hold innocent civilians hostage and then execute one for the world to see. Ustia also condemns Bushijatagi's reluctances to crack down on the terrorist group known as the BFG. Gunkoku had every right to defend their nation from another possible terrorist attack but we do not agree of their plan of an invasion of Bushijatagi. Although we don't agree of an occupation of Bushijatagi we believe that the government of Bushijatagi is at the core of this rising problem and should be punished. This is why we demand the immediate release of the remaining Gunkoku civilians being held by Bushijatagi forces and for the Bushijatagi government to immediately tear down the terrorist organization known as the BFG. If no peaceful solution can be settled on then and only then the Republic of Ustia will support the occupation of Bushijatagi. However if any war crimes are made during any battle Ustia will withdraw its support. Ustia’s stance as of now is neutral but this could quickly change.

He headed towards an area with a good view of the base and then sat down in a prone position. The Sergeant came down with his SV-98 (http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n220/Neo-Erusea/SV98.jpg) sniper, and he looked at his and then at the M40 rifles of the Ustians. They were somewhat similar, unlike the Dragunov rifle he used to have. Mikov was also carrying a rifle bag, and in it he removed a HK G36 (http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n220/Neo-Erusea/G36.jpg) assault rifle that would be replacing the AK-101s in Neo-Erusean service. The Lieutenant took the gun and weighed it in his hands. He then inserted a losded cartridge and turned to the Ustians. "This is the rifle that we will be using soon. It is the number of forces they will use to occupy the nation not the # of forces they have ready to attack.

If you intend on invading Gunkoku I will have no choice but to support him against you. Why do you want to try and start a war that will no doubt destroy your nation? It's almost complete suicide for you to take on a complete Alliance! Please stand down; there is no reason for you to continue this. Your nation is not under any threat of invasion so please stop this now before it’s to late!

International waters, close to Bushijatagi:
Nothing new had happened since Bushijatagi stood down. The only thing the N.E.F had been doing was combat patrols around the fleet, which was rather boring but now that Bushijatagi is acting rather strange the mood of the fleet changed. Also reinforcements had been sent to strengthen the fleet causing rumors to run ramped. When the 2nd Fleet arrived everyone gave them a very warm welcome. Admiral Kevin and Rear Admiral William Collins meet onboard the R.U.S Tolvin to discuss with each other the subject of reorganizing the fleet. Kevin held out his hand and said "Ah William it’s been awhile!" The Rear Admiral quickly grabbed it and gave him a good shack. "Its good to so you too old friend." They quickly got to work on the overall organization of the fleet and their possible battle plan if war does break out.

Army Commander Yugure:
To the Bushian leader I say this: "Stop these mad men before they bring utter ruin upon all your people. It is clear you cannot win and this Nationalist pride should be directed toward reforming your country."

GNN Special Report:
Today we have repots of small skirmishes between Gunkin & Bushian forces inside the DT. Neither side has reported any casulties, but there are a few wounded. It also appears that the Bushian army is withdrawing but the Nationalist guerillas are holding their positions, using a "Mortar & Mine" tactic to stike at our forces in the area.

Recent elections have placed a new president in power. Gen. Xai Sui has pledged to restor the nations honor and calls for a withdrawl of all foreign powers from the area, this he feels will lighten the tensions in the region.

In other news: The nationalist leaders are under arrest after violent rallies in the streets led to the death of a civilian who made his dislike for the party well known.

The current estimate is: 50,000 tanks 60,000 AFVs, 200,000 aircraft, and over 10million infantry men, with the numbers ever incresing .
The Bushian's main army is falling back to Constanta, and the airforce is currently grounded by attacks on airfields throughout the country.
Allied forces are currently blockading the coast line.
At this rate Army officials believe the war will be "Quick & decisive"
Army commander Yugure gave this speech today shortly after the push began.

My message to our ground forces is this 'Do not waver, do not let up, and do not SURRENDER!!' Now is our time now is the day of our glorious triumph! If they stike, strike harder! If they defend, break their lines! Do not surrender one inch of ground, do not give them one moments sleep, crush them under your tracks!!!
Fight for your Country!

Fight for your Consul!
Do not fail your countrymen!!

SCENE: Shazbotdom Marine Command
The blatant invasion by the Gunkokui government has forced the hand of the Dark Empire of Shazbotdom. Grand Admiral James E. Rockenbach had a meeting earlier with the Supreme Emperor and in the process of their discussion the issue of the invasion came up. Supreme Emperor George A. Loak decided that in the interest of the people of the Nation of Bushijatagi, the 15 divisions of troops that were prepared earlier would be deployed into the region to help maintain order for now and in the future.

Rockenbach: "Get me Fort Leonard on the horn."

Radio Operator: "Yes, Sir."

SCENE: Situation Room; Fort Leonard
10 minutes later
3 Star General Anthony Fredrickson just got off of the phone with the Grand Admiral. He sent a message to the Marine Divisions to mount up for the mission at hand. They were loading themselves up onto 45 modified Boeing 777's for immediate departure while another 15 Modified Boeing 777's were being loaded up with the vehicles that they will be using for this assignment.

Within an hour each aircraft was prepared to launch. They each taxied towards one of the 4 runways and lined up. And within 40 minutes all of the 777's were in the air on the way to Bushijatagi. They would not let the tyrrany of one nation throw another into termoil...

The mighty Blitzkrieg that rolled over Bushian forces was poised at the edge of the capital of Constanta. The order had been passed down from Comander Yugure "Capture the city, spare the army, and crush the goverment."

Tanks and aircraft charged forward in the darkness, the Bushian soldiers held their ground and faught will all they had. Alas they could not stand against the massive onrush of armor and men. The Triumphant Gunkin army road gloriously upto the capital building, raising high the "Moon & Star" and awaited word from the Bushian goverment for an official surrender & the terms there of.

Consul Ushio, Address to nation:
My fellow Gunkins, today the Imperial Army took the Capital of Bushijatagi. The loss of life on both sides was great, the Bushians faught fearcly and have all been awarded medals of merit. Today we saw the fall of a nation, and the rebirth of an empire which once spread from East to West, it is now the wish of our people to restore that Empire and create one people united under the symbols of the old ways.
The leaders of Bushijatagi are currently in route to Akito to discuss the reuniffication of our mighty nations, and the soulution to the terrorist threat.
My people on this day Rejoice.

Pres. Xao Sui: On this day we shall remember the fallen who so valiantly gave their lives for what they beleived was right. Bushian-Gunkin, it matters not all have sacrificed and so it is my decision to formaly surrender to Gunkoku. With all hope our nation may retain its freedom, but rest assured the worst I beleive is over, and peace will soon follow.
I would like to leave you these words spoken by a wise man a long time ago:
"War alone brings up to its highest tension all human energy, and puts the stamp of nobility upon the people who have the courage to meet it."
On this day you had the courage to meet war and our armies braved impossible odds, alas they could not hold against a force whom it seems was simply more determined than our own.
I would like to leave you tonight with news of our armies gand victory over the Gunkin 43rd armored corps. on the ourskirts of a small southern town.
Our armies stood against them, they gave not an inch and routed the enemy. So it can be said that we did not give up without a fight and left the field of battle more "noble" than the kings of the earth.
