Pantheaa

Every man woman and child packed into St Michael’s cathedral to see the sight of a lifetime. After so many years bad leadership, war and poverty their would be at last vindication. For someone dear to the Panthean legacy was finally coming home. Only the most oldest among knew this man. And even fewer could remember his reign. Yet their he was, the 36 year old hier was kneling in front of the altar, a his back facing the audience, his purple cape strenched out for all the world to see. Underneath the cape, he was dressed like any other military officer. With badges and medals and a saber to go along. True he never saw any combat, but without these we would truly be naked.
Not only was the general public there. But also the prime minister, Vladimer Davion and his wife Zelda Davion. Flanked by generals and senators alike, they too have been waiting for this period since they were kids. For, no Panthean could forget the legends and stories of this mans ancestors. This man’s family was the Panthean “king Arthur”
The caridnal whose backed was also turned from the audience, finally turned around. The crowd gasp at what was in the elder priest hands; it was none other then the Panthean royal crown, not see since the fall of the Monarchy at the hands of the Communist revolutionaries.
The frail old priest couldn’t even believe he was holding it! Any moment the crowd was waiting for the man to drop it. Just one more curse to go along with the bad luck of any already jinxed empire. But the wheel of fortune had seemed to roll in favored of Panthean. For the Cardinal finally made to the kneling man with a slow walk typical of any old man.
The crown was placed on the young mans head and slowly he rised to see his people. He slowly turned around to get the full gravitas of the pressence in the church. The slow turn took forever, and one could hear his heart beating and air running of his nostrials. Then the cardinal spoke..
“All hail Conrad the VII
King of Pantheaa”
The crowd erupted into applause has now they can see the man clearly. He had a short black beard with long black hair. He was tall, nearly 6 foot . His black eyes, you could make out from 4 miles away. He was son of a long line of Panthean rulers.
Then the boys choir started to sing..
I vow to thee, my country, all earthly things above,
Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love;
The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test,
That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best;
The love that never falters, the love that pays the price,
The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.
And there's another country, I've heard of long ago,
Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know;
We may not count her armies, we may not see her King;
Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering;
And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase,
And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace.
It was none other then the famous Panthean anthem. Outlawed under the communist regime but now restored to its fulliest. A beautiful hymn to celebrate the new renewed energy of the Panthean people.
Indeed the Panthean king was back to reign over his people. Having been exiled by the communist and denouced by the democratic government before, he was the missing link to the great Panthean kingdom that was one of Europes greatest superpowers. Crusaders and true catholics, their loyality to their people and country could never be broken. Not by communism and certainly not by time itself.
It was a tough choice by the parlimanent to allow the king to return. They finally agreed only in condition that the king was only given limited powers. His primary responsibility will include appointed members to the lower house of parilament, approving high court judges, and acting as an offical ambassodor for the people. The Prime minister would presume the rest of the powers. The king was the head of the nation, but the PM remained head of the government.
Already rumors circled around the Panthean state. The king was going to resurrect “The Order of the Dragon” to fight the remaining terrorist that plague his country. The order was already famous for their numerous crusades and their loyal service not as rulers but as servents to the people. Of course these knights would be armed with rifles but still be the elite squad they always were meant to be. The king even requested that he lead the order themselves in fighting the last remaining terrorist inside his nation.
