In order to fill a rapid-response role in the Trivalvian military, TGAF has commissioned a light tank design project. This is the first prototype design.
MLT-01 Puma Mk 1
Mass: 20 tons
Length: 5 m (hull) 6.5 m (overall)
Width: 2.5 m
Armour type: layered composite
Armour protection:
Front: 200 mm (vs. Sabot), 350 mm (vs HEAT)
Sides: 60 mm (vs. Sabot), 105 mm (vs HEAT)
Rear: 30 mm (vs. Sabot), 50 mm (vs HEAT)
Turret: 150 mm (vs. Sabot), 260 mm (vs HEAT)
Max road speed: 75 km/h
Armament:
Primary: 100 mm main gun, 25 rounds of ammunition, 5 rounds per minute
Coax: 7.62 mm MG, 500 rounds of ammunition
AA: 7.62 mm MG, 200 rounds of ammunition
Electronics: IR Range Finder (8 km targettable, 5 km classifiable), 16-bit FCS
Crew: 3 (commander, driver, gunner)
Countermeasures: 2 sets of 4 smoke grenade launchers, one on each side of the turret.
Estimated production cost: $2,000,000 per tank.
(OOC: I hope I've got the design as realistic as possible, but I am also concerned about feasability; I'm aiming for a tank that can be quickly and locally built, can get to the battle faster than my PT-91s, and do some damage against an enemy. Think this design will fly?)
