OOC: This thread is a continuation of this post:

The fate of the Gaza strip is to be determined by local referundum. The federal government has announced today. it is believed that the Government is tired of the financial and political burden of operating a military enclave in the middle east near Isreal and Egypt.

This would signify the end of a South African presence in the middle east and is also believed to have been instigated by the Governments continuing wariness of Fundamentalism in the region. (specifically Sistan and Asherton.)

The foreign ministry has notified the Kingdom of Kopperburgs of this situation and is awaiting a response to what they have to offer the Citizens of Gaza....

Everything posted in this thread is SIC, if nothing else is mentioned.

Dear president of The Boer Republic,

Here is our proposal regarding The Gaza Strip:

The Kingdom of Kopparbergs will:
Pay $1 billion USD to The Boer Republic
Let all inhabitants of the Gaza Strip move to another place inside The Boer Republic OR stay where they are, it's up to them to decide.
Assist the inhabitants who select to move.
Take care of the inhabitants who select to stay.
Open the borders to the Gaza Strip immediately, to increase travel and trade between Israel and The Gaza Strip.
Close our consulate in Gaza (of course, there's no need to keep it in the future), and offer The Boer Republic to open a consulate in Gaza.
Ensure to keep the flight routes between South Africa and Gaza.

What do you say about that?

we find this compromise most satisfactory. The Gaza strip has become somewhat of a burden to us in both financial and military terms.

We have begun a evacuation and relocation programme for all South African citizens in the strip. They will be given the priviledged opportunity to either move to Kerguelen Island or somewhere on the South African Mainland.

We believe Gazas destiny will be in safe hands once the transition of power is complete.

It is a momentous occasion for the Gazan people (whom overwhelmingly voted for independence from the Boer republic and have subsequently opted for closer intergration with the Kingdom of Kopperburgs.)

Support for Independence has been unilateral both in the Gaza strip and Inside South Africa. the majority of south African colonists and settlers have accepted a lucrative proposal by the Government to relocate to South Africa or settle the Remote Kerguelen Island. therefore there was little contraversy surrounding the local elections.

The Lowering of the South African Flag was done with much pomp and ceremony and a provisional Gazan flag was raised. Gaza awaits the arrival of diginataries and representatives from Kopperburgs and The Boer republic to finalize independence and to complete the transition.

(Out of Gazas 1000,000 citizens approximatly 329,000 South African settlers have accepted relocation with 10,000 settlers opting to become minority citizens of Gaza)
