The Zogist Rule of Albania

Monarchist Albania

King Zog of Albania could be regarded as one of Europe's lesser known historical figures. He ruled as the King of Albania until the time of the Fascist conquest. An attempt to take power failed when Enver Hoxha of the Communists (he would be the namesake of Hoxhaism) took power.

In this, I will write my version of events, since I have been researching into Albania for some time.

The night in Tirana seemed uneventful to Enver Hoxha as he sat in a chair, reading the Communist Manifesto. He was a bit saddened that Zog was to be recoronated as King, because as we know Communism and Monarchism don't really mix that well together.

As he read, he believed he heard noises. As he got up to look, a figure shouted ''Fall!'' and shot Enver, killing the would be leader of the late Party of Labour.

In Tirana, King Zog waited with his guard, ready to be recoronated. He had made sure his fate was not like the Tzar of Bulgaria (disposed of by Communists) or the King of Greece. Zog planned new things for Albania.....

Years later......

King Zog of Albania furthered Albania in the world, joining Tito in the Non-Aligned Movement. He also planned to reform the military, to make sure Albania could defend her sovereign borders. Albania later would take over Kosovo, to help out the Albanians there.

Ramiz Alia and others helped in the Reforming periods of Albania. It is said that their plans were to further Albania by making it modernised. To secure Albania's borders, it must prove itself able to defend its borders, some said.

When King Zog passed away, his funeral was attended by many. His successor, Prince Leka was coronated as Albania's second King. Leka was faced with trying to continue building up Albania.

Now, in the year 2006, Albanian Monarchism still reigns supreme. Currently, The Kingdom of Albania seeks diplomacy with other nations. Albania today rules over Kosovo, which Tito and Yugoslavia seemed to accept.

Albanian Monarchism today is still strong, and many support their King. Albania's military today is strong and well kept, for the Albanians do not want a repeat of the Fascist invasion.

Due to the fall of Hoxha, the anti-religion campaigns never occured. The Albanian Monarchy respected the religions of Albania, and never thought of assualting any of them. Also, the assassination of Hoxha is a topic discussed in circles. We know through evidence that it was the actions of a simple gunman, not associated with the Monarchists, however like JFK, conspiracies exist as to for example, whether the Monarchists were involved in the assasination or killing of Hoxha.

Albanians today have Kingdom Day (when the Kingdom started) as a national holiday. The end of Fascist rule is symbolised in Remembrance Day, to remember those who gave up themselves to defend their homeland. A film is said to exist, made from Third Reich German authorities, of life in Albania in 1945.

The film can be found in Youtube, look for ''Albania in 1945'' (seriously, there is a film, I've watched it. It is really on Youtube). 1945 was around the time that Fascism would fall and later would see the return of Zogism or Monarchism.
