Interested in a well written, character driven war just for the sake of war?
Well, you've come to the right place. I want to create a PMT war, a revolution actually, that isn't full of tech wanking, petty OOC fights, or redundant troop movements. I want a story that's fun and easy to write, and create a memorable war RP that makes as many innocent civilians miserable as possible.
the rough plot:
The island nation of Haven is torn in two after the recent assasination of its president, Alberto Haveras. The working class, outraged by crushing taxes, cruel employers, and low wages, is on the brink of revolt. Radical, often violent, revolutionaries constantly stirr up the masses by denouncing the Republic and promoting a semi communist New Order. The new president, Eric Finch- a blunt, uncharismatic figure- has made the problem worse by using excessive force to break up riots and issuing a restrictive curfew. Advocates for the Republic are afraid of rebellion, while the poor are outraged at their rights being taken away...
Into this scene steps a dangerous new revolutionary by the name of Andrew Kurtz. Preaching of a the utopia to come after the Republic is deposed, and backed by large elements of the republican army, Kurtz has rallied a huge following and has pushed the nation to the brink of civil war. The Old Guard has rallied its followers in the mostly affluent north while Kurtz's followers control most of the impoverished south. While the first shots have yet to be fired, the nation is already at war.
Now, that's only a rough idea for a story and nothing is set in stone- so feel free to make suggestions as you see fit.
There will be two main factions, the Old Guard (the mostly good guys) and the New Order Dominion (the mostly evil guys, though they look good to the poor).
The Old Guard, or Republic, will control most of the army, and all of the airforce and navy. Though relatively small in number, their troops will have the best training and equiptment.
The New Order Dominion, or NOD, will have numbers and fanatic devotion to 'the cause' on their side.
I will RP as Andrew Kurtz and will control the NOD, control of the Old Guard is open.
Both sides need:
- Generals and officers
- You can also RP from the perspective of a foot soldier or hired merc if you like
NOD specifically needs:
- a propaganda artist
- Kurtz's number two man/woman
The Republic needs:
- A president: (not necessarily Eric Finch, as mentioned above- he could be voted out)
- Politicians, a vice president, senators, media people ect.
Also available
- Mercs can be hired by both sides, you can offer your services as an individual character or a PMC
- Perhaps a crime syndicate or two?
- Foriegn countries looking to aid one side or the other.
Suggestions, especially to types of weapons allowed- since I'm mostly clueless- or to the plot are welcome. Remember- I want a well written, character driven storyline...
