Sparks showered the bridge as the ship was hit again.

"Hull breached in Chamber 12! Doors failed to close! We're venting! Oxygen at 39%!"
"Foreward lasers offline! Torpedo Bays 3-5 self-discarged!"

The captain looked at his dying ship. The enemy had taken them by surprise, and there was nothing they could do about it. Except...

"Engines full power! Directly towords the enemy vessel!"

"But captain!"

"Do what I said! Then get to the shuttle!"

The crippled ship moved towords the enemy, accelerating as it closed. As the enemy vessel grew in the foreward viewscreen, the captain simply muttered, "See you in hell you bastards" then there was impact.

A blinding flash lit up the sky across the planet below. As debris fell to the surface, it looked like there were thousands of shooting stars falling to earth.

Onboard Emergency Shuttle
"We've been hit by debris! Stabalising thrusters are gone! We're going to crash!" The surface rushed up at them at a dizzying speed. Larger and larger it grew, until it blotted out all else.

...then, impact. Blackness...

"Sir, unknown target on scopes. Making reentry, projected course pins it over Sapin."

The colonel on duty that night, a gruff old man who would rather spend his nights at home, bent over the young technician's shoulder and looked at the radar screen intentively. He scratched his head quizzically, and traced his finger along its course.

"That'll put it about fifty miles outside Marcalla on its current course... Assuming it follows through in a line. Contact Marcalla AFB and have them lob a squadron into the air to investigate. And keep a close eye on it."
"Yes, sir."

The young technician grabbed a phone next to his station, and quickly dialed a three digit code.

"Marcalla AFB, this is CADDC ordering a squadron sent on immediate intercept on unknown target bearing down on heading alpha-zero-niner-two-five. Repeat, ordering immediate squadron scramble to intercept object on heading alpha-zero-niner-two-five. Copy?"
"We copy that, CADDC. Marcalla out.", came through the reciever.

Somewhere over Sapin, Cravan
Espada Squadron

"Lead, Macarena. I'm picking it up on my scopes."
"Copy that, two. Espada squadron, on my wing. Finger four. Flights one and two assume formation."

The eight Ravens of Espada ripped through the night sky at blinding speed, their afterburners glimmering in the distance. They cut through the clouds like a blade, zeroing in on their target and watching as the flaming object soared past them towards the ground.

"Whoah!"
"What the fuck?"
"Espada, form up and follow that thing down! Watch out for any suspicious activity from it!"
"Copy that, Lead. Trailing it."

They spun around and followed the object down, watching as it hit the Earth with enough force to create a fair-sized crater. Smoke rose from the wreckage, the surface of it glowing since it had made entry. Of course the pilots could not see this, they could only see the smoke billowing.

"Call command. Tell them to dispatch a ground unit. We'll keep watch until further notice."
"Copy that, Lead. Assuming hold position over the target area."

They roared through the night sky, awaiting the arrival of the Imperial Army to find out just what had landed in Sapin that night...

Aboard the U.T.S. Lexington ... the ship rocked hard as all five of the enemy photon torpedo's hit the drive section of the ship. Throwing some members of the bridge crew off there feet.

Bridge to engineering," Commander Shultz what is our condition? " asked Captain Brian Worthington.

" Captain! ... we are receiving damage reports from alll over the drive section of the ship sir, those last five enemy torpedo's damaged our warp nacelles and took out all but our forward shields ... we have fifteen minutes until the warp core go's critical! " answers Commander Shultz.

" Eject the core now! " ordered the Captain.

" Sorry sir the core ejection controls are offline! " answered Nicolle Shultz.

" Ok Thanks Chief ... I have started the countdown to saucer separation. Get your people out of there and into the saucer section
on the double! You have five minutes until saucer separation! " said the Captain.

" Aye Sir " answered Commander Shultz.

" McNaughten open a intercom channel ... ordered the Captain.

"Aye Sir, channel open, answered Stephanie McNaughten after scrambling to her feet and back to the communications console.

"' This is the Captain ... this is not a drill ... abandon the drive section ...five minutes until saucer separation. "announces the Captain.

( After hearing the Captains announcement the crew starts moving quickly but orderly towards the saucer section )

" Lt. Vincent ready my Yacht, we will follow the saucer section down just in case. " ordered the Captain.

" Aye Sir " answered Lt. Carla Vincent as she picked herself up off of the forward bridge deck.

" Number one you have the con," orders the Captain as he starts his decent to his Yacht waiting in it's docking bay below the bridge.

" Aye Sir " answers Commander Vana Gerard.

( Five minute's later the Captains Yacht manuevers away from the saucer section which has just separated from the doomed drive section )

Aboard the saucer section ...

" Commander! ... the enemy ship is moving towards us, accelerating as it closes! " warns Lt. Commander Ali Johnston.

" Hard to starboard, full impulse now! " orders Commander Vana Gerard.

( As the saucer section streaks away under full impulse in a desparate attempt to evade the enemy ship bearing down on the drive section the Captain assists in their escape. )

Aboard the Captains Yacht ...

the Captain sees the swiftly accelerating enemy ship closing on the drive section with the saucer section attempting to evade the enemy ships
kamikazi run. 'Damn they aren't going to make it without some help' reasons Captain Worthington. Immmediately he activates the Yacht's tractor beams and targets the saucer section, then engages full impulse causing the two ships to streak away from the coming destruction.

( As a result the enemy ship passes underneath the saucer section and collides headon with the drive section about the same time as the warp core go's critical and explodes with the force of a antimatter explosion which rocks both the saucer section and the Yacht but leaves them a little shinged, but still alive and functional. Unforunately the wreakage from the collision quickly starts falling into the planets atmosphere. Capt. Worthington then scans for and picks up the enemy shuttle falling into the planets atmosphere. Unforunately they are to far into the atmosphere for him to attempt a rescue of the shuttle itself, the Yacht would burn up in the atmosphere before he could reach them. Beyond that he also sees that alien military air units are converging on the shuttles cooridates.)

" Captain to saucer section ... activate your cloaking device and set landing coordinates for the hidden mountain valley, you can hide the ship in the lake. This planet is similiar to earth in the early 2000's time period, so we must at least try to avoid detection as much as possible." orders the Captain as activates the Yacht's cloaking device and steers the Yacht to follow the Saucer down.

" Aye Sir " answers Commander Vana Gerard aboard the saucer section.

" Sir, I have one small unknown target entering the atmosphere from space, it's projected course will bring it down over Sapin, Cravan. As well as four other unknown targets, three larger and another smaller one in space directly above us." announces Sargent Matthew Houston.

The duty officer, a middle aged man who had made it clear in the past that he didn't believe in UFO's even though there was quite a few people who claimed to have seen them rushed over to look at the radar screen unbelieveingly. But quickly recovers and moves quickly to the red emergency phone on the bulkhead. Picking up the reciever he speaks clearly into the mic...

" Captain Horton to Colonel Maxwell ... sir ... I never would have believed this if I hadn't seen them with my own eyes but, it is confirmed ... we are tracking four unknown targets in orbit, and one that has entered our atmosphere. I request permission to launch interceptors to the area. " said John Horton to his commanding officer.

" Permission granted Captain, has Cravan responded yet? asked Colonel Maxwell.

"Yes Sir ... Marcalla AFB has just launched a squadron which is going to investigate as we speak." answered Captain Horton.

" Good Job Captain ... I'm on my way ... Maxwell Out! " replied the Colonel just before hanging up the receiver on his end.

" Rickenbacher AFB ... this is the KADOC Command Duty Officer ... we are tracking a number of bogeys on radar, you are to launch interceptors to investigate ... Copy? " ordered Captain Horton.

"We copy that, KADOC . Rickenbacher Out. "

Somewhere high over Qwankaster, Koramerica a huge fireball lights up the sky as
KAHOD Squadron nears the Bogeys coordinates at a lower altitude.

I don't believe this thought Lt. Commander Larry Aiken, squadron leader of KAHOD Squadron. " One second there are four bogeys on my screens, then two explode and the other two just disappear from thin air!

" Squadron Leader to all pilots it seems that our bogeys have given us the slip. Set up standard search patterns and excute. Squadron Leader Out! "

Meanwhile at the bottom of the Giant Lake in the Hidden Valley ... aboard the U.T.S. Lexington's Saucer Section

" Touch down Commander " states the Helm Officer

" Touchdown Cooridates confirmed " replys the Ships Navigator

" Thank You Gentle Beings " replies Commander Vana Gerard

" Ms. McNaughten please open a channel to the Captains Yacht" orders Commander Gerard.

The Communications Officers fingers lightly dance over her consule then she says " Aye Maam ... Channel Open ".

"' Captain we are down at the coordinates we agreed upon. What is your situation?"' asks Vana Gerard.

Aboard the Captain's Yacht over the shuttle crash site near Sapin, Cravan

"' Very Good Number One ... we are still cloaked and approaching the cooridates of the shuttles crash site. I want to see if they are still alive and if so what there status is. I will check in periodically to update you as I learn new things ... Worthington Out!

Shuttle Crash Site
"Life Support, Offline, Life Support, Offline, Life Support, Offline..."
"SHUTUP ALREADY!!"
Sergeant Kevin Sester continued hacking at the emergency foam that had hardened itself around him before the impact. Most likley, the foam that saved his life. "GET OFFA ME!! GODDAMNIT!"

Kevin finally broke free from the foam, and stumbled around the wrecked cabin. He quickly checked the command board.

too many red lights, ill never get it off the ground...

Kevin took one final look at the cabin. Nothing was even salvagable. If not for the sheilds, even the foam wouldn't have saved him. Nodding to himself, Kevin grabbed what he could from the cabin.

Rifle, food, ammo, emergency pack, distress beacon. Got it all... just one thing left to do...

Kevin quickly went to the cabin and lifted a small, red, plastic cover.
oops, need the key. He found the pilots key and inserted it into the keyhole under the cover. He twisted it, then ran out of the shuttle, into the surrounding wilderness. He ran too fast to hear...

"Emergency Charge Failure... Cannot Detonate..."

Howards sighed. "Repeat that again, please."

The aide wiped his forehead as the sweat beaded along his brow. "Well, sir, we lost contact with the N.M.S.S. Slipstream over a planet some, three hours ago. The planet is well documented to have a Pre-Migration technology level. We do not know if anyone survived to destroy the evidence, and we haven't received a distress beacon yet."

"Pre-Migration Tech?"

"Yes sir."

Howards sighed. "Send out a recovery team. I want 20 Black Corps Soldiers onboard, and I want the ship to be the stealthiest one we have. I don't want the locals to detect them!"

In orbit above Cravan
The ship entered the system undetected, invisible to almost every kind of detection, including the naked eye. It settled into orbit above the crash site.

Twenty pods slipped from the ship, and entered the atmosphere. streaks of flame breifly lit the sky up, until the pods slowed enough to reduce the friction. The pods finally landed in a small clearing less then a mile from the crash site.

The smooth surface of the pod broke, revealing a hatch. From 20 eggs, emerged 20 Black Corps soldiers. Soldiers whose training was each more expensive then the ship that brought them here.

Their mission? Search for the Evidence, Destroy the Evidence, Leave the Planet.

They silently moved through a small patch of trees, and stopped at the enge. Bright spotlights lit up the clearing in front of them. Someone had found the crash site before them.

Over the TacNet, one word explained how much more complicated the mission had become.

"Shit..."

"The fuck is this thing?", a soldier asked, his M2 slung over his shoulder. A light snow fell around the area, this part of Cravan entering the winter season as the flakes gently floated to Earth, the ground still too warm for them to cover it like a blanket of white and instead melting on contact.
"No clue, private.", the man's sergeant said while lighting a cigarette to keep warm. "All I do know is it's big, bad, and it definitely ain't from around here."
"Perhaps it's a '798 or whatever the fuck the flyboys call that thing?"
"Could be... I've never seen one, as with almost every other person in the God damned world. I've only seen that one photo released, and even that isn't high quality."

As the snow began to pick up slightly, a convoy of black SUV's rolled down a nearby country road, stopping at the nearest point where the road came to the wreckage. Several men dressed in trench coats moved towards the wreckage, walking across the fields quickly.

"Investigator Holdan, IDI.", the lead man said holding his ID badge out for the military officer to see. "What do we have here?", he asked, motioning at the wreckage.
"Uknown aircraft crashed here about twenty miniutes ago or so. Appears to have literally dropped from space."

After a few moments of silence, the intelligence officer turned to the officer.

"Survivors?"
"We found fresh tracks headed in that direction.", the soldier said while pointing towards the treeline. "Mostly due to the wet snow, whoever it was left some heavy imprints in the mud. It's getting glazed over with this weather, but we can still track him down."
"Whatever you do don't harm him. That's the last thing we need out here. Injuring a foreign national. Or worse..."
"Gotcha.", he said. He waved his men to follow him, unslinging their rifles and moving almost completely soundlessly towards the tree line, their boots slightly sinking into the muddy fields.

Around the wreckage, recovery teams began to appear. The intelligence agents gathered around, surveying the wreckage. Two of them stood side by side in the windy and frigid morning air, weak sunlight peeking ever so slightly over the horizon as the clock approached four-thirty, only to be blocked out by the gray clouds carrying snow.

"Any idea when this weather will clear up so we can get a heavy-lifter chopper in?"
"My friend, you're in Sapin. The forcasters are saying midday. So expect three or four days of a blizzard. You know better.", the intelligence agent responded with a chuckle.
"Well I'm sorry, sir... It's my first week outside Cravna."
"Don't you boys have INN Weather up there?"
"Locally...."
"Eh... Whatever you say, rookie. Just feel lucky that we're dealing with something like this. The most we usually get to handle down south are drug runners bringing shit in through Oured and sending it to us in Marcalla. This, at least, actually has some incredible significance."

After a few awkward moments of silence, the younger man spoke up.

"I'm already tingling with a special feeling."
"No... I think that's the cold getting to you."

IC: Aboard the Captains Yacht near the crash site

While Lt. Vincent piloted the cloaked Yacht, Captain Worthington sat in the co-pilots seat observing the crash site as the survivor exited the wreakage that was once a shuttle. " Lt. launch a cloaked tracking drone to follow the pilot. I want to know where he is at all times. " ordered the Captain. Carla Vincent's fingers danced over the control consule for a couple of seconds and said " Aye Sir, Drone launching. " About twenty minutes later the crash site was discovered by natives of the planet. Because of the bad weather, they arrived by ground units that were filled with people. After watching the natives sift through the wreakage for a couple of hours the Yacht internal alarms suddenly went off! " Captain I have multiple bogey's entering the atmosphere " stated Lt. Vincent. " Track them to their landing site Lt. ... but use passive mode only. "ordered the Captain. " Aye Sir, passive mode only, " repeated Carla. A couple of minutes passed as Carla Vincent tracked the bogey's then she said, " Sir the bogey's have landed less then a mile from here. And I am tracking a group of contacts moving through a patch of trees near here." "How many is there in the group Lt?" asked Capt. Worthington. " Twenty Sir " answered the Lt. "Ok Lt. launch another cloaked drone to monitor and back us out to the drones maximum range. Unless I miss my guess those contacts are some form of special forces unit sent to clean up the crash site. And I don't want to find out the hard way what kind of weapons they may be carrying. " said the Captain. " Aye Sir " said the Lt. as she launched the drone and started moving away from the crash site.

Meanwhile aboard the U.T.S. Lexington's Saucer Section, deep in the Hidden Valley Lake ...

Log Entry: This is Commander Vana Gerard, 1st Officer of the U.T.S. Lexington commanding the Saucer section. After being engaged in a space battle with the alien starship that we destroyed, we have landed on the planets surface by separating the saucer from the doomed drive section. The planet house's a pre-warp civilization who's technology is roughly equal to Earth in the early 21st century. Captain Worthington is using the Captains Yacht to keep an eye on any alien survivors until we can set up a better mode for reliable surveillance while avoiding unnecessary contact with the planets native population. End Log

After finishing her log entry Vana taps the consule key on the command chair that opens communication on the ships intercom system and speaks ...

"Bridge to engineering ... Commander Shultz how is the placement of the satillite in orbit going?asked Commander Gerard.

"Ah yes Commander I was just about to call you myself ... it is now in orbit, cloaked and fully operational maam," answered the Chief Engineer.

" Good work Chief! Please get started on the observation blinds then Commander so we can find a suitable spots to place them ... Gerard Out, ordered the First Officer.

"Aye Maam, I'll get my crew right on it, " replied the Chief.

Following the crewman
Sergeant Kevin continued through the forest as quickly as he could... which really wasn't fast at all. He had gone fewer then 100 feet when he realized he had several broken ribs and probable a sprained ankle. He had used the pain reducers in his suit, but even a man with no pain could only move so fast on an ankle that could buckle with every step.

He knew he was being followed. There was no doubt about it. Even if he couldn't see or hear them, he knew they fould be following his footprints.

After about 3 miles, Kevin finally collapsed. I can't go any further...

Kevin retraced his steps as closley as he could, placing his boots in the prints he made on his way foreward. Finally, he covered himself as much as he could with leaves and underbrush, propped his rifle up pointing in the direction of the crash, and waited. If any of those bastards who had wrecked the ship were coming after him, at least he'd go out fighting.

Woods near the crash site
The team moved back from the edge of the impact site before they were spotted by the locals. After quickly debating what they should do next, they chose their course of action.

Four men moved back to the edge of the crash site, and watched for major activity, while the other 16 slowly began circling around the site, carefull to avoid detection. of the 16 circling, 4 more followed the almost faded boot prints, searching for the missing crewman.

When all 16 men were in place, one of the soldiers raised his rifle. Switching it to single shot mode, he fired one shot.

The shot was dead silent. untraceble. all it left was the crack as it ricoshed(sp?) off a rock past the ship, about 50 feet from the wreck.

Now to see if the locals took the bait...

What the fuck?, was the first thought through the agent's head as the bullet hit the rock. Within a moment his defense instincts kicked in and he removed his semi-automatic 9mm sidearm from his coat while diving behind a rock.

"SNIPER!", he heard a man shout. All at once the men around the site dove for cover, most of them unarmed logistics personnel.

Investigator Holdan removed his cell phone from his chest pocket, flipping the slim device open quickly and opening it up to the secure network.

"Papa Bear, this is Holdan. We have a code forty-nine, repeat code forty-nine. Requesting immediate support, over."
"Copy that, Holdan. We have a unit being deployed right now, they should be arriving in a few miniutes. Meanwhile Espada will run a few thermal sweeps overhead to find his position. We're currently alerting all units in the area to possible hostile fire. Be careful."
"Copy that."

The men hunkered down, waiting for support to arrive. They knew one thing, though: They wouldn't be the ones initiating a war here.

*************************

"Charlie team, we have word that the crash site has come under fire. Be wary of any activity in the area, and watch out for the pilot. Over."
"Copy that, Papa Bear.", the squad leader said into his headset. "We'll watch out."

They walked through the forest, taking care to make as little noise as possible. Their dark camo blended well with the Sapinian foliage, and the snow squall made them even harder to pick out in the early morning light. As they walked, however, they began to call out.

"Hey! Whereever you are, we aren't here to hurt you. We're here to help. Your plane went down, and by the looks of that wreckage you're probably injured badly. If you are hurt, please show yourself so we can get you medical attenton. Please, I swear to you that we have no hostile intent!", the squad leader shouted over the wind. His cigarette flared while he took a drag, smoke pouring from his nostrils in the snow squall.
"Say, boss, what if the guy doesn't speak English?"
"Well... Ricardo, you speak Castilian, right?"
"Sí, señor. Hablo lo viendo como es la lengua nativa."

After a few moments of silence, the sergeant just shook his head.

"Ricardo, you damn well know I was born and raised in Hastings. I have no idea what you just said."
"I told you yeah, and it's my native language, sir."
"Good... So you wanna start calling out or should you just confuse me more?"

They continued through the snow squall, calling out for the pilot to reveal himself and receive much needed medical attention. The last thing they needed was resistance...

Somewhere over the North Shore of Hidden Lake approaching the North Shore Mountain Range KAHOD Squadron decides to land …

Lt. Commander Larry Aiken, squadron leader of KAHOD Squadron has noticed something different about the Lake.

" Squadron Leader to all pilots … does the lake look like the water level has risen to any of you?

"Squadron Leader wingman to Squadron Leader …now that you mention it you might have something there boss.

"Ok Guys we are going to act like we are leaving the area. Then we will double back on the deck and land at an old military installation that I used to be stationed at before it closed.

"We can hide our aircraft in the hanger bay and monitor the Lake for possible alien activity from the underground base there.

Minutes later after pretending to leave ... they land at the hidden base.

From the depths of space, a small escape pod from the Macross-class Megadeth plunged towards the surface of the planet within Cravan. The trajectory would cause it to crash some thirty miles north-west of Oured.

Within the pod, six individuals had been cryogenically frozen, although five of them had died. The five that had died ranged in species. One was Tau, one was Sangheili, one was a fourteen-foot-tall anthro red dragon, one was Eldar, and the last was Protoss. The surviving individual was a human/cat hybrid, having a tail equivalent to his size and a pair of ears also equivalent to his size.

The hull started burning as the pod soared through the atmosphere, moving at a thirty five degree angle, until it finally smashed into the planet, sliding for a good two hundred yards before it came to a rest.

At the hidden base in the North Shore Mountain Range ...

Lt. Commander Larry Aiken's fingers quickly dance across a keyboard accessing an orbiting satillite. Causing the recorder to replay the last twenty four hours of footage taken of Koramerica.

Ah Yes, just as I suspected ... the lakewater level was somewhat lower just a few hours ago. And although I can't identify what caused the water level to rise, I can verify that the appox. time it rose coincides with the time of the UFO sightings. Logically speaking something caused the water level to raise. Something that displaces enough water to cause the water level to raise to the present levels. Kevin was about 10 seconds from being discovered, and he knew it. It looked like he had no hope, until his IFF showed 4 Black Corps soldiers less then 20 feet behind the locals.

Support! I might survive after all!

The Black Corps saw his prediciment, their HUD showing kevin as if he had no cover at all. They had only one course of action.

The 4 soldiers stepped behind the locals, raised their massive, .75cal rifles, two Black Corp-ers per local.

The Cravanians spun around, weapons ready as they moved to meet those who challenged them. They stood their ground, carbines aimed at these mysterious men.

"Who are you, and what are you doing here?!", the squad leader demanded, not moving an inch. "I say again, who the fuck are you?"
"Boss, what if they don't speak English?"
"Well tough nuts. Stand your ground, boys."

Without even moving his hands, the squad leader clicked a small button on the inside of his glove, opening his radio to the general channel. He decided against calling in support, instead allowing what was going on be heard by the local garrison nearby. He didn't know if these men understood English, but he wasn't going to take the chance.

"Merely a formality. Hands behind your back for transport. Nothing personal.", he said dryly.

Over the course of the next few miniutes the pod was loaded onto a flatbed truck, and carted off. The area was examined further until finally the glass on the beach was covered with sand, the entire area being covered to make it appear as if nothing happened. Nobody would know of this... The Cravanian government would make sure of this.

Facility One-Zero-Eight-Bravo

Facility One-Zero-Eight-Bravo, known officially as Kalson Air Force Base, is a facility of which the public holds no (or little) knowledge of. It is the Cravanian government's most secret establishment, having tighter security than the Imperial Palace itself. And it was just where this pod and the bodies which accompanied it would go.

Facilities had been set up the second news of the crash reached the military, with enough personnel on alert to fill a stadium and then some. The base was abuzz as rumors spread as to what exactly this was all about.

The pod was rolled into a hangar on the far side of the runway, and lowered down into the main part of the facilities located deep underground. It made its way on a journey to the labs on the interior tram system, finally reaching its destination. A crack team of scientists began the task of examining the craft.

Taylor almost laughed as they placed the handcuffs on him. He could easily snap them with the Armor-Embedded-Servos that enhanced his strength. He let them place the cuffs on his wrists, then climbed into hte vehicle.

"You know, you people remind me of my government. Everything is a threat unless proved otherwise..."

"I'm glad we remind you of home.", Holdan said with a smirk from the front passenger seat. He pointed to the driver, who pulled from the side of the road with the two other SUV's in tow. Within a few miniutes they would be in the Marcalla, Sapin branch of the Imperial Department of Intelligence.

A few miniutes later...

The convoy of SUV's pulled into an underground parking garage after a short drive through the streets of the city, parking near the entrance on that floor. Holdan got out, and motioned for the agents in the back to allow the man to his feet.

"Follow me, if you will. You'll only need the cuffs for a short time while we take you in and find out who the fuck you are and who sent you. I'm sorry if we didn't ask sooner, but it's just easier in the office."

He walked up to the doors, swiping his card through the keycard reader. With a soft hiss they opened. He motioned for Taylor to move ahead of him into the building.

By the time the pod had reached the base, the last living Copen had been unfrozen and was waiting inside, his full dress uniform on, which slightly resembled that of a U.S. Marine's outfit. The rank on his uniform showed that he was a Captain in the Navy, which was third highest rank in the Copen military.

The pod door had reopened, and the Captain hopped out of the pod and down to the concrete floor of the building. He looked human, but his tail and ears were quite noticeably alien.

He took a sip out of his coffee cup, knowing full well this interrogation could prove to be a long one...

Five armed guards looked to the pod startled as the alien jumped down from the pod, unslinging their weapons and standing their ground.

"Captain... We have a situation in loading dock C."

Taylor smiled in a condecending sort of way. "We got here, didn't we? How often do you make it out to visit us? But if you really want proof,"

Talyor reached into a pocket and pulled out a small, smooth oval, shaped like a skipping rock. He pressed it with his thumb, and tossed it onto the table in front of the agent. A perfectly colored hologram appeared, showing a man waving. The man was obviously wealthy, gold chains hung around his neck, and rings shone on his fingers. He was smiling, and you could almost feel the aura of friendliness eminatiung from teh hologram.

"Our Emporer. Empore Kai Henrickson the Third. Greatest Emporer of our nation since his great great grandfather. Every soldier carries one with them." He pointed at the hologram. "Go ahead, turn it, run your hand through it, do whatever you want. Its real."

"Holographic technology...", Agent Holdan said astonished. "Our own holograms are still only in the early stages... And primitive at that."

He swiped his hand through the image, passing cleanly through it.

"This one also doesn't give off any heat. Doesn't feel like anything, really. Just... air."

Agent Jones raised an eyebrow, still skeptical of the man's story. He also examined the object, looking at it carefully and swiping his hand through the image.

"Impressive.", he said with a blank look. "Very impressive." He motioned for Holdan to take it down to the lab for further testing.

Jones took another sip from his styrofoam cup, crumpling it up as he drank the last of his coffee. He tossed it into a waste bin, and turned his attention back to this soldier before him.

"Slowly and slowly I'm becoming less skeptical. So now we'll start the real questions. What exactly was your man doing here? Why was he here, and do you know what caused him to crash? And how the hell did you get in as well?"

"I am only telling you this because your nation is no threat to ours, as you can't even reach us. A few decades, maybe, but not now. Anyway, that wreck you found was one of our surveilance ships. We monitor nations that we consider advanced enough that they may someday reach us, at which time we approach them with trade offers and alliances. We don't beleive in wiping out a perfectly good civilization just to get their resources. We've been around almost five thousand years, we can wait few hundred."

Taylor got up and paced the room, stretching his legs. "Anyway, the ship reported it was under attack from an unkown source. Contact was lost, and the government sent us in to find out what happened and recover any survivors. There were 20 of us, but they left, and I remained behind to talk to the loc-- you. If your fast, you might find some pod-like capsuls near the crash site, but I doubt it. They were organicly made, and will have decomposed by now, to destroy traces of our entry." Talyor sighed. "Did you people pick up Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on some radio waves or something?", he said with a chuckle. He then put a serious look back on his face. "However, that isn't my place to ask. I'm simply here to question you on why you're here. Some tech nerds should be in soon to dissect your equipment and ask some questions. In the meantime, I'm curious.", he said while leaning back on the table. "What sort of sports do you have? Or your culture?"

Second is much like your football. Try to get the ball into the endzone. Otherwise, no rules. At least once a game someone gets his neck broken, whish is bad, but you get used to it in our society...

Culture... culture... um much less celebrity infatuation then with nations on this planet... more military oriented, cammo this, cammo that, many more guns on the street, but law enforcment always has the best stuff. He has supreme command of the entire Armed forces and I'm absolutely sure he'd do something if anything happened to me. Of course, the likelyhood of that happening is slim to none as well."

Fironen took a deep breath. "As for contacting my people, it'd be difficult. We use a complex communications system that we call a direct laser communication link. It basically allows our planets and starships to communicate to each other without having our transmissions being intercepted by younger civilizations such as your own. However, with the pod's own extra-galactic laser communications array out of commission, there's no way I could get a transmission out to them, unless you could provide me with a list of components, chemicals, and a large staff of scientists to assist me in that."

The handcuffs were laughable, and he could remove them in an instant, but he took Holdans advice and went along silently. He checked the time using his nero-link and found how long before his time was up.

"Welcome Captain.", one of the men said politely. "Please, take a seat."

They cut right to the chase, sparing no time in their questions.

"Please, explain where you come from.", one of them said. "I'm curious as to how you came here and the details on why."

*********************

Taylor was taken to the helicopter, and put in the back between two guards.

"You should probably enjoy the landscape. It may be the last time you see it for a while.", one of them said jokingly. Taylor would have to decide for himself how much of a joke that was as the rotors started up.

"What the hell do you think you're doing, Holdan?! Bringing an alien being in here unarmed and unrestrained!"
"He had cuffs on..."
"Had."
"I apologize, sir. It was reckless for me to do so."
"You're damn right it was reckless. You risked all of Cravan... No, the world with that move, you fucking twat..."
"I'm sorry sir. It won't happen again."
"You're damn right it won't happen again. I'll have your balls if you even dare step in this office again. You're being reassigned to Cravna where the guys at the top can keep an eye on you. You were promising, but you just threw any chances of Directorship out the window."
"I understand, sir."
"Get your things in your office. Now. I want you out of this building by noon tomorrow."

As Holdan left the office, he headed straight for his own hoping they hadn't cut computer access yet. He was relieved when he found he still had time, and brought up the file of where Taylor was being taken. He read it quickly, and then accessed the system commands remotely. He set to work.

Taylor would not spend more than two hours in that facility. Holdan would be sure of that.

"I am from a galaxy that we call the Copen Galaxy. It is located approximately 2.5593 trillion light years from your planet in the direction of the galactic North. To find galactic North in your galaxy, look straight at the sun when it is 'high noon.'

"As for why I am here, my Super Dimension Fortress was attacked by a hive-fleet of Tyranids, a bio-organism that relies not on metal or silicon based technology. They are completely biological, and can survive in the harshest of environments, including space itself.

"We were horribly outnumbered, and according to protocol five seven eight, we were to abandon ship after setting the self-destruct sequence."

Fironen took a deep breath, closing his eyes and rubbing the bridge of his nose with two fingers.

"At the current rate that the Tyranid hive fleet is moving, they should reach this system in approximately two hundred and fourty seven years. However, when they do, this planet will be the first they set their assimilating goals on.

"These creatures thrive on slaughtering entire populations and assimilating anything that's left. They'll literally strip all the bio-mass off this planet, leaving it as a dead world. You'd do best to build up your military so that it can withstand biological and chemical warfare, because that's what the Tyranids use.

"However, you might end up fighting a splinter fleet of them earlier, because that's what we encountered."

"Well that's... Interesting to know.", one of the officials remarked. "I'll be sure to write that down..."

Another official looked to Fironen.

"What type of government do your people have? Military structure? Etcetera?"
Copenhaghenkoffenlaugh
12-10-2006, 01:32
"Our government structure differs between planets, but we're generally democratic socialists," he continued. "We give the people what they want in return for their labors. They are allowed a maximum of one hundred thousand cee bills (c-bills) worth of luxury items, plus free health care, free food, free furniture, etc. Basically, they get what they need, and their housing is adjusted according to their family size, although families with more than five people are quite rare.

"As for military...lemme show you an example of one of our weapons," he said, pulling out his massive pistol. Fironen made sure the safety was on, and pulled out the eight round magazine.

"This is a basic officer's pistol," he continued. "It utilizes a thirteen milimeter silver-jacketed high-explosive armor-piercing round, eight rounds per clip, and can literally blow a hole in the side of your main battle tank like a point blank one hundred twenty milimeter cannon shot would." Fironen slid the clip into the massive gun, and placed it back in its holster with the safety on. "And I wouldn't suggest trying to take it from me, not like it would matter. The gun itself is seventeen of your kilos, and would require two men who could bench-press at least two hundred fifty of your pounds to carry the gun. Besides, I'm not even sure I can trust anyone on this planet.

"Anything else you would like to know?"

After about twenty miniutes in flight, the helicopter finally landed. A bustling military base could be seen outside, with air patrols taking off and returning regularly. It was a storm of activity.

"Come on.", one of the guards said as he yanked Taylor from the helicopter. He dragged him onto the tarmac with his associate where they stopped.

"We'll wait here for the next ride.", he said. "The Humvee should be here any miniute."

A light flurry fell on the airbase, the wind rustling the branches of nearby trees. Cloudy skies blocked the sun, and the cold air stung many of the men and women on the tarmac.

"Is it as cold from where you come from as it is here?", one of the guards asked Taylor while shivering.

**************************

Holdan typed frantically, knowing any second now his access could be cut to the system. His jump drive placed in the USB port of his computer, he downloaded all the information he could possibly use to get Taylor out. Destinations, arrival and depart times, guard complements, blueprints and layouts of facilities, access codes and channels... Everything. He then promptly removed the jump drive, and hastily shoved it into his pocked. He opened up notepad, and began typing wildly again. There was no room for mistakes, but there was also no time for checking for mistakes as he wrote line after line of code. He had been trained well in the art of electronic warfare, and he planned on using this knowledge and his knowledge of the Marcalla IDI mainframe to his advantage. Within a half-hour he still had access to the network, and he had finished his project. He saved it as an executable, and ran it with a system scan on the mainframe of the network. He wouldn't stay to find out if it worked or not, and he promptly stood up and took any belongings he would need with him.

He hastily walked from his office, cautiously looking around as he made his way to his car in the parking garage. He walked all throughout the building, finally arriving at his car.

Director James Mencia walked into Holdan's office unannounced, and was surprised to find him not there. He walked over to the computer, glancing at the monitor to see why it was making so much noise. As he did so, it crashed, along with every other computer in the building. All the memory was dumped, and it would take weeks for the Marcalla office to boot up the backup drives. Right now, though, this was the least of their worries.

Holdan rounded the corner to ascend to the upper levels of the underground parking garage, driving calmly as he did so.

Mencia walked with four other agents, sidearms drawn as they moved to intercept Holdan in the parking garage. They made their way onto the ground level of the garage, and motioned to the guard to draw his weapon and keep the barricade down.

Holdan rounded the final corner before the exit and saw the blockade which awaited him. Mencia moved in front of the car to stop him. Holdan accelerated, his engine screeching with a roar.

Mencia and his men jumped out of the way, firing at Holdan's car as it crashed through the barricade into the snowy streets of Marcalla. Mencia quickly ran to his car which was a few yards away, and called in the local police and other IDI agents who could assist. He hopped in, shoved the key into the ignition, and with a screech accelerated out of the garage after Holdan.

Holdan sped through the streets of Marcalla, deftly avoiding the oncoming traffic as he did so. Soon enough two police cruisers were on his tail, the blue and red flashes visible in his rear view mirror. Sirens could be heard throughout the city as he sped off towards his destination.

The docks.

"I was interested", one of the officials said, "in what your species is called. This is our first contact with a non-human species, and therefore we are quite curious. What other species or races make up your Protectorate, as well?"
Copenhaghenkoffenlaugh

"I myself am a mixture of human and Neko, which is a common occurence," replied Fironen. "As for other species...well, I'll just name off the major ones.

"The first we have are humans that are not unlike yourselves. My father's a human, just to let you know.

"Second are the Orks, who are the most numerous of all. It's estimated that there are fifty Orks to every human in our galaxy. They are also quite possibly the stupidest race to exist, and thrive only on war. They range in size between two feet and twelve feet in height, always have green skin, and only consist of males. It's assumed that they are part fungus, because after on dies, it expels a foul gaseous substance that fertilizes the ground and produces more Orks.

"The third are the Anthropomorphs, which consist of many numerous sub-species, such as Nekos, which my mother is. Anthropomorphs are the only species that are capable of mating with any species and producing a child, and how that works is still being studied to this day.

"The fourth numerous are Zentradi, which are a species of fifty-foot tall humaniods. Their females constitute as a separate species, called the Meltrandi, which are usually more dominant than their Zentradi males. Zentradi society mostly consists of war, but we've started the process of culturalizing them, which we hope will weed out their violent tendencies.

"As for all the other species, they're not numerous enough to really note them. Any more questions?"

"It depends, actually. Since we control a number of planets, 12 at last count i think, some will be cold, others not. I was born on the home planet, which is much like this one. Cold at times, hot at others. You'd be suprised how many planets like this one exist out there, and how many other species want them to themselves..."

Holdan finally lost his pursuers, the city in an uproar as all law enforcement units concentrated on finding him. He slowly drove into the city's docks, knowing exactly where to go. His Buick screeched to a halt outside a chain link fence, and he walked up to the gate, pressing the intercom.

"I have some business for you.", he whispered. The gate opened, and he drove inside.

After a few miniutes of tense deliberation, he was taken to see Padrino Enrique Palocina, head of the Sapinian Multitud, the leading organized crime syndcate in Cravan. He entered the large oak doors located at the top floor of the warehouse, and walked into the Padrino's office.

"Hello, Mr. Palocina. I have a business proposition for you.", he said with a fear like no other.
"And you are?", the elder man in a large, leather chair asked. They were in an ornately decorated office, with dark wood being the main feature.
"I'm Agent Holdan of the IDI. And my country has abandoned me.", he said, not entirely telling the truth. "I need help in getting a friend back, and you'll be rewarded greatly."
"And what exactly is this reward?"
"The entire Marcalla IDI database on organized crime. Things they know, things they don't know, and things that you should know."

The Padrino's eyes widened some, knowing full well this was quite a prize.

"And how do I know you will keep your word?"
"You don't. But that's what faith is for. I can tell you I will keep my honor, but that means as much as me telling you I'll give it to you. I do want to assure you I will give it to you upon the job's completion. But it requires faith on both sides."
"And what exactly is this job?"

Holdan threw some papers onto the desk.

"The military has a friend of mine. And I want him back. I have arrival and departure times for all his stops on the way to the detention facility, and all you need to do is pick a stop and send in some boys. I suggest this particular fuel depot. It is the lightest defended one, and just outside a small population center."
"And what is this man's crime?"
"Existing.", Holdan replied.

After a few moments of deliberation, the Padrino finally looked Holdan in the eyes.

"You have a deal. I'll have a cell locate him immediately and get him out of there. I have connections in that area."
"Thank you, Padrino. Thank you."
"Eh, it's what I do.", he said with a chuckle. "Now go. I have some connections to make. Leave your cell number and pager and whatnot with Paco on your way out so we can call you."

After doing so, Holdan climbed into his Buick and drove off, looking for a good warehouse to lay low in until the time arose for him to return.

The Humvee arrived for Taylor and his guards, the guards putting Taylor between them again.

"Our next stop is a fuel depot not too far away. Should be about a half-hour's drive."

In orbit aboard the U.T.S. Devastator as she and her sister ships round the curve of the planet cloaked …

“ Well how about it Lt. Wyatt what are the sensors showing? “ asks Captain Dearborn.

“ Using the new EES sensors I see a mass of free floating ship parts, some alien, the rest are Koraelian. Also I am picking up the warp signature of a Koraelian Captains Yacht … it’s cloaked and shadowing a number of small uncloaked craft similar to are own fighters but not as advanced. They are most likely native to this planet sir, No capital ships in sight but I am picking up a energy trail which could be the exhaust of a orbiting ship. answers Lt. Wyatt.

“ Open a scrambled channel Lt. Schend to the Lexington’s Yacht. “orders Captain Dearborn.

“ Aye Sir “ answers Lt. Schend

“ This is Captain Joseph Dearborn of the U.T.S. Devastator lead ship of the Koraelian Strike Force calling Capt Worthington. Captain we have your Yacht on our scanners. We are here provide you assistance, you are cleared to land at docking bay 89.

Aboard the U.T.S. Lexington’s Captains Yacht ...

“ Captain I am picking up three Koraelian Super Star Destroyers on sensors and they are calling for you Sir. states Lt. Vincent.

“ On screen Lt. says Lt. Vincent.

“ It’s good to hear your voice Joe, we are vectoring our approach to your location now. Be advised I believe there are enemy relief forces ship/s hiding in orbit, but I couldn’t verify it with my Yacht’s instruments. I recommend you keep a continuous watch for hostile ships … Worthington Out. “.

“ Captain Dearborn to docking bay 38, launch two drop ships now. ”

The two drop ships leave the Devastator together & cloaked, soon after though they separate and start there individual descent vectors. Minutes later one lands in Northeastern Koramerica; at Lakeland Air Force Base where the native operatives from the Lexingtons saucer section comes aboard for debriefing and future assignments.
The second lands near the alien shuttle crash site to scout the area, releasing numerous cloaked vehicles and mecha. Within sight of Lakeland Air Force Base & near the alien shuttle crash site , hundreds of sleek, black mecha float silently out of the drop ships holds, cloaking as they move out in different directions to simply observe and collect data. These mecha are a deadly scout class often employed by the Koraelian Starfleet. These particular mecha has been fitted with a number of noticeable modifications, such as extra missile pods, shields, a cloaking device and differently shaped engines. The mecha head officer collects data in the observation room and sents it back to the orbiting strike force.

The Humvee pulled to a stop at the fuel depot, the guards getting out to stretch their legs.

"Come on. Get some fresh air.", one said to Taylor.

The Humvee drove to one of the fuel tanks, and began to fill its tank for the next leg of the journey. The guards kept Taylor under close watch, making sure he didn't try to run...

...Sadly they weren't paying enough attention to shrubs on a nearby hilltop as both of the men went down, their heads exploding in fountains of brain matter as two rounds penetrated their skulls. Fourteen men rose from bushes nearby, AKM's in hand as they moved in on the fuel depot. All military personnel left weren't harmed, but instead cuffed and blindfolded, and left for the next convoy to find sitting there in the snow.

"Come with us.", one hissed at Taylor as he took the keys to the handcuffs from one of the dead guards, and uncuffed Taylor. "There is no time to waste. The next patrol is due in less than twenty miniutes."

He was led to a nearby clearing, where a group of black civilian Humvees sat parked in the snow.

"We'll take you to our base where you can be reunited with your buddies. Now come."

Sgt. Blake Williams hated weekend duty! He had bought tickets to the Lakers ballgame for today so of course today is when they would decide they needed extra security here. Sure there was some really strange crap happening in some of their neighboring nations but why did that have to cause him to miss the final game of the season! As Blake resigned himself to his fate he noticed that a group of blips in the northwest sector that he would have sworn hadn't been there a second ago. Quickly he activated the bases scramble alarms and his long distance camera's in the NW sector, what he saw ... he couldn't believe! Some looked like huge metal men,
others huge metal insects, and some could fly short distances! Kinda like the Incredible Hulk ... kinda like sky hopping. There seemed to be hundreds of them ... but where had they come from!? They surely weren't of this world!
Could they be invaders from the group that was seen landing near the crash site in their neighboring country? What did they want? As he watched there continuing advance he knew they would probly get the answers to these questions soon enough.
" RING ... RING " Within seconds the Major Generals phone was ringing so Blake ran to answer it!

"We have confirmation, the enemy is on the ground. Repeat, the enemy has landed on the planet"

The Admiral looked around the bridge. "Well, you all know what that means. The rules under Section 34 no longer apply. Decloak and prepare for troop deployment."

On the Surface
Instantly, all around the world, TV's radios, everything, stopped transmitting what it was supposed to, and started transmitting the image of a single man.

The man was dressed in some kind of military uniform, althought not one that like any planetside army. The uniform was black, with red trim, and the medals and insignia on the chest and collar were strange and foreign. All that became moot when the man spoke.

"Greetings to all people on planet X3.21a. I am Senior Admiral Josef Leavens, and I bring you a warning.

A few days ago, one of our scout ships was shot down over your planet. Your governments no doubt know about this, but may not have deemed it important to tell you. Today, however, is important, because earlier today your planet was invaded by the same forces that shot down our ship.

Under section 34, of the Terran Empire of North Mack, once contact has been established with another space-going race, whether hostile or friendy, we may make contact also. This invasion counts as contact.

In a few minutes, we will be dropping our soldiers into the combat zone. They will all have this flag *The Man shows a red, four pointed starburst on a black field, with a black sun in the center* somewhere on their armor, or in the case of tanks, draped across the side. Please, do not fire upon these soldiers. They are here to help you."

In Space
Space ripples as the 45 ships previously cloaked became visible. They immediatly launched fighters from bays, and small, bright streaks of light shot from the undersides, and streaked down towords the planet.

The counter-attack had begun.
