The War of Retribution.
The Revenge for Empirici III.
This war would take on many names within the Corporate Empire, but it all meant the same thing. Every Empiricalite in the Empire was united in this, the desire to get bloody revenge for their clansmen and comrades. The cowardly attack upon Empirici III and Shub-Niggurath IV would be avenged, and a massive battlefleet was being formed for the momentous occasion. Narrowly avoiding the destruction of the Empirici Drive Yards, the Serenity, a dreadnought naming the class, was hastily launched some days prior to prosecute the war. Millions of Empiricalite Marine Corps personnel were being called into service, for the first space-to-ground landing planned for the last thousand years. The space around the 3 most populated systems was chaotic, escort frigates and fighters being pumped out daily, crewed with fresh volunteers, and fired off with barely so much as basic training.
Thousands of assault transports were loaded with marines, tanks, supplies, vehicles, and all the necessities for an army on-the-go for the first two-pronged attack of the counteroffensive. The information given to the Naval Authority from Dominic, the Ixian defector, had panned out. Scout cruisers were sent to Ix, Tlelax, and Arrakis, and everything the Ixian had told them so far was true. The defense fleet was smaller in terms of sheer ships than the Empiricalites had assembled so far, and with the once-rebel 3rd Independent Fleet rejoining the Naval Authority for these purposes. The total fleet raised so far had been 3,051 ships, and more ships were being produced almost daily. The fleet had been divided into two separate ones - defense of territories and the counteroffensive. 2,001 ships, commanded by Grand Admiral Richard Nixon, and 1,050 ships, spread out into local commands. 1,501 ships and 200,000 marines for the offensive against Arrakis, and 500 ships and 110,000 marines for the Tlelaxu Offensive.
EGNS Serenity, Empirici
The 1st Assault Fleet formed up, Grand Admiral Richard Nixon in his latest command, the Serenity. Spanning hundreds of kilometres wide, fighters and assault transports boarding their ships in a frenzied rush, traffic jams being created instantly, slowing down the preparations. Serenity herself carried thousands of troops, along with the three Union battleships, and dozens of other capital ships. After nearly a week of preparations, the fleet departed, with Arrakis being a nearly weeklong FTL at maximum burn. Nixon would have plenty of time to debate his tactics, as he usually did, and he expected the resistance to be minimal based on the scouting operations. There were very few ships based there, and Tlelax seemed to have less.
Cthulhu IV
The 2nd Assault Fleet was preparing itself just as hard. 500 ships, led by the Union herself. 110,000 marines in 52 ships made up the ground troops. Intelligence gained from the Ixian defector indicated that the Tlelaxu were an unwilling conquest of the Ixian Confederation, and it was entirely possible that they would join with the Empiricalite assault if landing was successful. Of course, they could declare the Empiricalites as evil intruders as well and fight against them, as well as the Ixians. Such were the perils of intergalactical war. They were having traffic problems with the loading of the troops and supplies, and would leave four days after the 1st Assault Fleet..
