The night air was dry tonight. It was always dry in this far corner of the nation, which was so far from the capital, from the government and culture of the Rachkldites that the old ways of the tribal men still lived. Men with long beards and flowing robes who spoke not a word of German still rode out on their camels into the seemingly boundless deserts. It was only when the columns of light men with heavy boots and steel weapons came through that order ensued, that the locals payed any attention to their single identity. But they would leave as quickly as they had come, and the ways of the desert would resume.

However, some remained.

The pilots rushed from the hangar in the rock to their jets, which had been towed out only minutes before. They did their last prayers to Jesus or Allah or Zoroaster or whoever the hell they wished and readied their takeoff.

There would be no delays tonight.

Their clearence was given as soon as they were strapped in, and the seven brave fighters lifted off quickly, flying low and spread out through the mountainous terrain. They had their mission, one of grave importance. To destroy the New Islamabad nuclear development facility, deep in enemy territory.

The Sultan did not think that the Potentate of Rachkldom would have the audacity to directly assault his facility at this point, or he would have brought up much better defenses. At this point, the large concrete complex had 19 guards on duty, each carrying an AK-47 and patrolling the outer walls. They had no air defenses, and the limited northern radar network could not see the low flying Rachkldite fighters. It was as if they were invisible.

As the clock struck 0100, the fighters sighted their target.

"Alpha 03, target is in sight. Begin assault, over."

"Roger that, Alpha 01, over."

The seven jets swiftly dropped, leveling their missles at the central hub of the facilities. They then pulled out of the dive, spiraling upwards and unloading the remainder of their payload backwards onto the buildings before heading up into the clouds.

As the clock struck 0100, the fighters sighted their target.

"Alpha 03, target is in sight. Begin assault, over."

The seven jets swiftly dropped, leveling their missles at the central hub of the facilities. They then pulled out of the dive, spiraling upwards and unloading the remainder of their payload backwards onto the buildings before heading up into the clouds.

We will help to defend New Islamabadsville against further attacks, but will not get involved in a war unless provoked. The land of Albu-querque will restore peace in Mucro!

The jets flew high above the cloudline and sped towards home. It didn't matter if they were detected now. The air force of New Islamabadsville could not catch them before they were back in Rachkldite territory.

The Sultan had been awoken immediately when the news of the attack had reached the capital. He called for his top advisors as he entered his opulent main chambers.

"How did this happen?" he demanded, but there was no immediate answer. Few wanted to be the one to talk to the sultan when he was in this mood.

"My lord," his top military advisor, General Abdul Azeem stepped forward, "We were expecting no attack. You yourself said that the Imperialist cowards would not dare ..."

"Are you saying that this is my fault, General?"

"Of course not, my lord," he quickly answered, going to his knees and bowing deeply, "I was just saying that the blow was a truely cowardly one, one that ..."

"Deserves responce," Sultan Dara Juwairuyah al-Jasim interrupted again, "General, shift one million men to our northern frontier, and scramble a large air attack on their southern facilities. Let us see how the infidels like it when we strike at their lands."

The military of New Islamabadsville had not been expecting any attack, and were taken completely by surprise. This was not the case with the Rachkldites.

Nearly all of the heavy bombers, not including the damaged one, went down before the figher bombers were able to organize their counter attack. Even then, the superior numbers of purely fighters and the element of surprise allowed the enemy to destroy every single fighter bomber in the dogfight. Most of the heavy bombers escaped, however, and headed straight for friendly airspace. Rachkldite casualties are unknown.

As such we are santioning this battle. Once the battle is over Raven corps will invade and seize the nation and make it the next garrison. While we certainly do not want to have negative relations, we cannot allow you to take the course of action that you plan. Please do not force us to drag our alliance into a war, as our allies (being nearly everyone in Mucro, including Jaredcohenia, with a population of over 3 billion and Higera, with a population of over 7 billion and also including many notably sized nations from outside of Mucro) would rather not have to go around fighting wars all over the place.

We hope that you reconsider and that we can develop a positive relationship.

Now that actions from Raven Corps are no longer a problem, we would like to state that any interference from Albu-querque will not be tolerated. This is a perfectly legal action taken by the Dominion of Rachkldom against a nation which is clearly psychotic and harboring nuclear weapons is not to be interfered with. If it is, Zukariaa will take action in not only taking down the psychotic dictatorship running New Islamabadsville, but driving any forces you deploy out. We advise that you cease any preparations for war and forget about this conflict, as it does not look to be a good idea for you to become involved.

The fighters burst in, fifteen falling before the enemy but the rest succeeding, chasing down what remained.

Back on the ground, 1.5 million troops were actively being shifted to the south eastern frontier. There was no way that they were going to be caught off guard by an Islamabadsvilleian attack.

The air attack had failed, leading to the decimation of much of the Sultan's royal air force, but the northern frontier was not vunerable. The norhern garrisons were reinforced not only with men but also with plenty of AA equipment while the factories churned out Talon figher/bombers (a design sold to them by Errikland) to be sent north. They would be ready for any areal assault.

On top of the 1 million men actively being sent to the north, the Sultan ordered the deployment of another 2 million.

He also had the ability to send it to dozens of major newspapers and other media in the west. That would certainly bring this to their attention. However, it would mean sacrificing the knowledge that they could break the current codes.

"Dammit!" the Emperor thought aloud upon finishing reading the page, "They are going to screw up the entire situation! This could have gone very well, with the Rachkldites destroying the nuclear capabilities of the Islamabadis and situations being very tense between them for a while, but winding down before complete escilation to war. But now this," he paced for a moment, "The Jaredcohenians are going to drag this into a war . . . that could destabilize the entire area. Why does this have to happen now? That area is the stable oil supply in Mucro, and it happens to be threatened just as Kraven's CP revolt threatens Arterus. This cannot be good."

"There are some stable supplies of oil in southern Doomland (OOC: Area controlled by Retarded Doomyness, Thunderous Doom, etc.)," one advisor offered, "And the supplies in northern Rachkldom should be safe from the war . . ."

"Not if Jaredcohenia completely supports New Islamabadsville."

After much thought, the Sultan has declared that he and his closest aides shall attend this peace talk.

The Potentate had recieved word that the highest leaders of New Islamabadsville, including the Sultan himself, were going to attend the conference. Now he prepared to leave his own grand capital to journey to Errikland, the realm of his overlord, and sort out this mess. There was a chance that this conference would yield solutions and peace for the region.

He wouldn't bet on it.

General (actually Field Marshal, but goes by General) Viktor Borov, the Potentate's most trusted aide, was given full command of the Rachkldite armed forces for so long as he was away. General Borov was known for being a very smart commander who was nearly as ruthless as the Potentate himself. He could be trusted to pursue the war properly if fighting breaks out while the Potentate was absent. And, more importantly, he was almost unique in the Potentate could trust him not to sieze power for himself.

The Sultan and his closest advisors had made all of the preperations they needed, and now loaded onto the royal jet and went to Errikland. They crossed over international waters when possible, and only crossed over certain nations that were friendly.

Potentate Tepes exited the vehicle, followed by his loyal guard unit. As always, he ignored any media that attempted to speak with him as he walked into the palace.
