The Eternal Moon Child

Xendelia and her brother Xandore ran through the night as fast as thier feet could carry them, thier wings tucked in and thier focus on thier task at hand. They were not the only ones that were on the path that night, horse hooves were heard not far behind them. Both would have taken to the skies but the chance of being shot down was too great. Xandore took his sister by the hand, know she was tiring and may have to be carried if they did not reach the safety of the city, Lunar Heights. Thier pursuers were demons, day warriors and they used high magic of the sun.
As they ran, Xendelia fell hard to the ground and now the horses were in sight. She through up her hands and focused her energy and as her brother turned to try and stop her, the energy left his sister's body and a magic barrier was now in place around her. Xandore ran to his sister, taking her in his arms and expanded his wings, there was no choice now but to take to the air. As they flew, arrows and bullets flew. Xandore did all he could to avoid the flying objects that came flying at him by all sides. Unfortunately, an arrow or a bullet (at the time he could not tell which one) hit his wing and he crashed to the ground, his sister sliding a few feet away. Xandore slid himself towards his sister and dragged her deeper into a wooded area. Not sure what to do, he sent a distress signal.

The Day Warriors of the Sun searched the woods, hunting the two injured Moon Children, hungry for thier flesh. The Day Warriors knew approximately where the Moon Children were hiding and started trekking towards them.

Meanwhile, Xandore was trying to mend his wounded wing and awaken his sister and nothing seemed to be going well at all. What were Day Warriors doing out at this time of night, when they are most vulnerable? Looking around for a better hiding spot would be the best idea but unfortunately that would mean leaving his sister. Not knowing what to do, he pulled his knees to his chest and hoped that his distress signal reached some one close by.
