ATTENTION COMMONWEALTH MEMBERS

His Majesty's Secretary of State and Foreign Minister, request and require in the name of His Imperial Questarric Majesty King Richard V, that all members of the Questarian Commonwealth mobilise to assist the member state of Saint Fedski in its hour of need.

Following immediate mobilisation of fast reaction forces and stepping up of Defence Condition to DCON TWO the United Kingdom and the Rising Sun follows its pledges to Saint Fedski. If a foreign nation sees it fit to declare war on Saint Fedski, violate its borders or exclusion zones, then the UKRSQ will act upon its promises and assist Saint Fedski in all ways possible including a declaration of war on the offending nations if necessary.

Furthermore, His Majesty’s Trade and Economic Office hereforth declares that any nation with hostilities against Saint Fedski is banned from exporting to the UKSRQ and its colonies, dominions, and protectorates.

His Majesty’s Diplomatic Assembly and His Majesty’s Foreign Office give Shazbot diplomatic personnel 48 hours to destroy their documents and leave Questers or be arrested and interned for the duration of hostilities. Any Shazbot nationals currently residing in the United Kingdom and Rising Sun should, if they are tourists, seek immediate exit from the nation or be interned within 72 hours. Shazbot nationals living and working in the UKSRQ will be interned for the duration of hostilities.

Furthermore, in the name of His Majesty, the United Kingdom and Rising Sun of Questers hereby promises that if Saint Fedski is danger then the UKSRQ, by the Grace of God, shall assist by all means necessary and to any end to ensure that its gallant ally remains its sovereignty. We shall not step down until the last enemy is defeated and the sovereignty of Saint Fedski assured.

God Save the King!

TO: Questers Qommonweath
FROM: Mr. Larry William, Miniser of Foreign Relations

While it is known that we are "hostile" towards the Nation of Saint Fedski, it is not known to the rest of the world why. Let me make myself clear on the reasons that the Dark Empire is Hostile to the Nation of Saint Fedski. They assaulted military personell of West Corinthia while IN their nation as a peacekeeping force. Now, these military personell were attempting to take back control of a city in a peaceful manner when they were assualted and murdered.

The Nation of Saint Fedski was given a chance to pay compensation to the families of those killed, but they declined. They were given a chance to appologise to the families of those killed, but they declined. They were given a timetable for when to leave, and they basically said that they will take as much time as they want. All these items were in a message that was sent to them by the legitimate government of the Nation of West Corinthia.

Now if you ask me, what The Nation of Saint Fedski did in this situation would NOT be considered really 'Peacekeeper' like. If they would have just bowed to the requests of the Nation of West Corinthia, none of this would have happened. To those involved in the conflict, it was Saint Fedski's fault that it escilated to the point that it has.

Until such a time as Saint Fedski publically appologises to the people of West Corinthia and repay the families of those soldiers killed, they will remain on the 'Enemy of the Empire' list for the Dark Empire of Shazbotom.

Also, as we have no records of having an Embasy or Diplomatic staff in the Nation of Questers, we have no people to recall.

Foreign & Commonwealth Office Statement

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v387/Praetonia/Praeflag-Smalll.png

His Majesty's Government stands united with the Questerian Commonwealth in opposing bolshevik Imperialism on the part of the Empire of Shazbotdom whilst attempting to prevent noble peacekeepers from protecting the innocent populace of an oppressive state. His Majesty's Government is resolved to oppose tyranny and injustice wherever it may be found, to uphold liberty and the rule of law and to protect those to whom these two basic tenets of civilised society are denied by force of arms. To this end, His Majesty calls upon the members of the Sovereign League as well as those whose allegiance has been pledged to the Questerian Commonwealth to make good on their promises and ride to the aid and rescue of a free country under threat for pursuing noble goals.

For our own part, His Majesty's armed forces stand ready to oppose any inadvisable military action that may or may not take place against Saint Fedski. The Imperial Navy, the Imperial Flying Corps and various elements of the army have been activated and are awaiting deployment to the conflict zone should the need arise. His Majesty's Government does not wish for conflict, but nor shall this nation shirk from its duty to protect states like Saint Fedski who find themselves unjustly under threat from foreign aggression. If war is necessary, the Crown Commonwealth stands armed and ready to defeat any foe arrayed against it or Saint Fedski.

Once more the Crown Commonwealth calls on all those who have resolved to defend free society everywhere from the agents of tyranny, and oppose the ranks of Czarists, bolsheviks and other assorted tyrants that have the temerity to claim righteousness in their cause as they stand arrayed against Saint Fedski, arrayed against His Majesty's Government and arrayed against the entire civilised world. We implore those who would see themselves our enemies to retract their wild threats and demands and withdraw from a conflict it is certain they cannot win, but should they refuse, we shall spare no quarter in dealing with their aggression.
West Corinthia

Official Czarist Republic of West Corinthia Communique

Let it be known that Saint Fedski is the aggressor in any conflict which may arise in the near future. Under false pretenses, they entered West Corinthia as a peacekeeping force. We foolishly accepted their help, being in the desperate straits we were. However, they quickly proved to be a self-righteous, imperialist nation bent on destroying the legitimate bloodline of our most noble Czar.

The first time they betrayed the title of "peacekeeper" occurred soon after they arrived. After recieving the coordinates of one Field Marshal Pyotr Chenko, the highest-ranking West Corinthian military official at the time, they quickly moblized a force to assassinate him. They failed in the end, but Saint Fedski did manage to kill several soldiers of Londim, who were evacuating the Field Marshal from the city.

The second time occurred outside Buddenovsk, and this was where we drew the line. Buddenovsk had been captured by anarchists from the nation of Atopiana. They were murdering, raping, and brainwashing the citizens of the city, and made no attempt to pass themselves off as peacekeepers. Saint Fedski managed to convince us accept a timeline in which Atopiana would either leave the city or be destroyed. The deadline passed, and West Corinthian forces stormed the city in order to rescue our citizens from the anarchists. But the invasion never happened, because Saint Fedski attacked the division and killed it's ranking officer.

Because of Saint Fedski, the people of Buddenovsk were allowed to be murdered and raped, while a dozen West Corinthian vehicles burned on the open plain outside the city. Retaliatory action was taken, and many Saint Fedskian aircraft were shot down, but the civilians continued to suffer all the longer.

Buddenovsk was taken and returned to us. We recovered from our small losses, and demanded a paltry sum of 75,000,000 to be paid directly to the families of those killed. We seeked no profit from these reparations. Instead, Saint Fedski refused to pay.

Therefore, the occupation of Saint Fedski in several cities along the western shores of West Corinthia has been declared illegal and will be considered hostile if they are not gone in one weeks' time. Further, no invasion will be carried to Saint Fedski's homeland should they comply with our demands.

We have been more than reasonable despite Saint Fedski's continually hostile actions towards us. We no longer require them as peacekeepers, and their presence will not be tolerated. By order of the divine Czar Aleksei Kotov, these are the demands we have made. War can be averted as long as they are heeded, but we shall not alter them to make things easier for Saint Fedski. In the end, they will have brought this upon themselves.

..::Official Statement Of The Imperium::..

While the Imperium lacks the interest to involve itself in this seemingly minor affair, we note the common causes that is shared with Questers and its commonwealth, specifically freedom from oppression and the desire to work towards the betterment of all. The Imperium also notes that while the Questerian Commonwealth has a steller reputation with the free nations of the world, the two nations that oppose them have virtually no reputation at all, although this could very well change for the worse with what appears to be rather foolish warmongering. The government and people of the Imperium can only pray that cooler heads prevail in the nations of Shazbotdom and West Corinthia before their governments drag these young nations towards their final destruction.

On that note, while the Imperium shall declare itself a neutral upon the outset of any hostilities, we lend our moral support to the Commonwealth and its people. Further, the Imperium informs the nations of West Corinthia and Shazbotdom that commercial flights and shipping shall continue from the Imperium to the Commonwealth as normal, even in the event of war, and that the former two nations would do well to not attack Imperial commercial assets in the Commonwealth lest they wish to have another war on their hands. Furthermore, entry by the citizens, commercial aircraft and shipping, or government assets of the nations of West Corinthia and Shazbotdom will be denied in the event that they declare war against the Commonwealth and will continued to be denied for the duration of any such war and backed up by force if neccessary.

OFFICIAL ENCRYPTED REPLY TO SCANDINAVIAN STATES

The Dark Empire of Shazbotdom is not pushing to war. They are. We only wish that the Nation of Saint Fedski appologise and repay the Nation of West Corinthia for the damage that they caused the people of West Corinthia. This is all we ask for and they deny it and spit on the lives of those who died protecting West Corinthia.

We have also halted construction on West Corinthia's Duke of Saris-class fleet monitors due to their allied nature with Shazbotdom, and are also holding all received funds until the situation ceases.

Official Statement from the Allied Union of Velkya

http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/7646/velkyanflagnewrc0.png

As a founding member of the Questerian Commonwealth, we hereby answer the call to arms given by our Questerian brothers-in-arms, and pledge the unwavering support of the mighty Allied Union Defense Forces to the embattled nation of Saint Fedski in it's time of need. To further this, we hereby condemn the Shazbot government's blatant lying and imperialism in this matter. Combat soldiers in a war zone are not "murdered", nor is Saint Fedski, a fully sovereign nation, required by international law (nor is it required to obey it, for that matter) to pay reparations to a party for defeating it's professional, trained soldiers on the field of battle.

Furthermore, we laugh at Shazbotdom's cries that the nation of Saint Fedski is somehow escalating the conflict, when it itself, along with it's gang of allies, has mobilized to attack Saint Fedski itself, a clear and direct escalation of until what was now a local brushfire conflict, as well as a startling revelation of the evil and hypocritical nature of the Dark Empire itself. It is with this reasoning that we stand firm alongside our allies and compatriots in this dark hour. Should Shazbotdom or its thug-allies attempt any military or political invasion of Saint Fedski and its territory, such a move will be dealt with swiftly and lethally by the overwhelming military might of the Commonwealth and its member states.

We shall stand firm before our allies and enemies alike, the defenders of freedom and justice!

The Golden Throne truly found itself in a precarious position. Since August she had been at war with Praetonia and Questers, however, remained either allies or neutral in regards to several newly appearing allies. Furthermore, there was no interest in creating more enemies when the plate was already full at home. The fighting in Ruska was just beginning to turn around, especially after the successful counterstroke at Mosnoi Bor, and there was no interest in recreating a situation in which the Empire found itself on the receiving end again - especially after first news arrived of the moving Questerian fleets. Consequently, it was decided to play the cards correctly and hold any decisions until the situation cleared a bit. In the end it would serve the Empire nothing to fight in a war that it could barely afford to send troops to anyways and where it would stain its name by fighting alongside nations that were tainted by Communism and by lack of fame itself.

http://www.nationstates.net/images/flags/uploads/the_macabees.jpg

The Empire of the Golden Throne finds itself in an interesting situation. Despite the fact that we are already in a state of war with the The United Kingdom and Rising Sun of Questers [re: War of Golden Succession] there are allies of ours who are currently allied to the UK&RS in this ... conflict. Consequently, we officially declare our neutrality with the allied states of the UK&RS, and we declare non-belligerents to our allies in the Commonwealth of Independent States. Nonetheless, any foreign ships travelling in Questerian convoys will be targetted without warning by submarines if caught in patrolled shipping lanes due to our unrestricted war against Questers and SafeHaven2. However, we don't expect that our war should be carried out this far. Our intentions are wholly to continue our war against Questers and respect the rights of others - we give an official administrative warning to those travelling alongside Questers in or near Greater Dienstad waters.

We hope that this situation can be resolved through the pen, as opposed to the sword, but we make no comment on who is correct and who is wrong. Furthermore, the Empire of the Golden Throne officially requests its independence from any written ties to the CIN, although we are still willing to supply old allies with any military arms that are needed. We expect that our armed convoys will be considered non-belligerent, and therefore will not be attacked - except, of couse, by our already existant enemies.

At least, may this war be a gentleman's war.

Official Response From the Illiorian National Governing Council

It has come to our attention that there are tensions rising between several nations that Illior has good, or neutral relations with, and some members of an alliance that Illior belongs to. Seemingly to us, the Nation of Saint Fedski was nicely asked to pay reparations for the killings of West Corinthian citizens, and to leave promptly. Again seemingly, the Nation of Saint Fedski spit on the reasonable demands of the West Corinthians. The West Corinthian Government then decided to ask the Fedskian forces kindly to leave, and that request again was ignored, and as such, the Corinthians asked for assistance from several GASN nations to have some seemingly necessary force to move out unwanted Fedskian soldiers that seemingly caused the deaths of Corinthian citizens.

Now, the nations that responded did so rightfully, and possibly with too much force. They set reasonable deadlines for the Fedskian soldiers to begin their withdrawl, and gave them safe passage out of West Corinthia, to which the Fedskians complied. Now the Fedskians seemingly overreacted to the threats, and imposed illogical restrictions on the Nation of Jaredcohenia for making a bit of a sarcastic joke. As with any reasonable nation, they would question the 1000 Kilometer restrictions, as 1000 Kms is a humungous distance, specially for a commercial vessel or airliner, not to mention a Jaredcohenian Military vessel that might need to move quickly to the scene of an accident. The Fedskians responded by asking the Jaredcohenians to recind their joke (Possibly showing a lack of humor?), and do all manner of things that weren't necessary, as the threats would be dropped as soon as the Fedskians were out of West Corinthian territorial waters.

Now in light of these facts, I must ask the Questerian government and the rest of the Commonwealth how they feel about getting all up in a tiz over a silly joke, and an untimatum that will go away as soon as the Fedskian soldiers leave Corinthian territory, which they are doing right now, if our information is correct?

If anything Questers and the Commonwealth is jumping the gun on this matter. I also think that SF should just say sorry for the deaths in which happen. Subject: Prevention

This will only become a war if West Corinthia attacks Saint Fedski after the original demand of seven days has expired. In order to prevent this The Republic of Zeoch is prepared to send in ground troops to stand with Saint Fedski as the final military forces are withdrawn. I personally will stand with my troops in this and put my own life on the line. If West Corinthia attacks our forces we will seek action within the GASN. Zeoch troops would also not be armed nor would they fight in any way should an attack begin. This is how committed the people of Zeoch are to preventing a world war. We hope and pray that cool heads will prevail in the next few days so that no nation may be forced into a war that was so pointless as the one before us right now.

We believe that West Corinthia will not attack but we have to show how far some of the nations involved are willing to go to achieve peace.

Quite a powerful statement there, little one. It brings a smile to my face to listen to the ramblings of those who think themselves strong enough to speak in the adult voice.

While the Empire remains disgusted at the very existance of Questers, we can see where they are coming from. However, we have no quarrel with the nation of Shazbotdom....to my knowledge. But let it be known that the wanton use of nuclear threats by the Leocardian government disturb me. Such cowards are not worthy to grace this planet with their presence, and as a result the Excessively Armed Empire will have its collective eyes open.

The mighty legions of Automagfreek will remain vigilant, but still within the shadows....watching and waiting.

The Allied Union, sharing the sentiments of the Excessively Armed Empire, is thoroughly unimpressed with the empty and pointless threats of Leocardia and it's ilk. As allies with the aggressor, they are in no position to make any demands of the Commonwealth, much less threaten it with nuclear warfare, a proposition that can only result the transformation of the bases and populations of the CIN into great oceans of glass and fire.

(If I could get away with that I'd have knocked Zanx off Chitzeland a long time ago, maybe even Wanderjar at times because I wanted to differentiate my forces from his)

Can we just wave off this whole war thing if the survivors of the WC/SF debacle to simply set this on a bet between some soccer match or horse race?

And again, SF's entry was rather, annanounced, from the looks of it. That sort of thing dragged me into 3 wars already.

A bit late, I've got 13 envoys in SF trying to work out a peace deal before the bullets start flying.

So far they are both being stubburn, and I'm tempted just to hospitalize one of their leaders to solve it.

The question is, which one?

*flips coin*

*lands on edge*

Looks like I'll have to separate both of themselves using myself as that famous UN "Human shield", and woe goes to whoever shoots me first...

That includes members of GASN. I'll have no qualms with fighting with someone who thinks it is best to suckerpunch without permission.

(another first: A peacekeeping operation is required to restrain the peacekeepers and the nation they protect)

I don't like being used as a 'buffer zone', no matter what is at stake.

Now lets get this over with before I change my mind and decide to let this go.

..::Official State Of The Imperium::..

The Imperium is most alarmed by the threats of the use of nuclear arms before a single shot has even been fired. Frankly, the Imperium feels that a nation that can't even defend itself in a conventional military manner has no business possessing any WMD. Therefor, the Imperium warns that should Leocardia, or any nation associated with the CIN, use nuclear weapons in a manner that can be characterized as a first strike, the Imperium will wipe them from the face of the Earth.

Quite in fact, the Empress extrapolated in detail what will happen should nuclear weapons be used and has expressed her desire that those thoughts be conveyed to the nations of the CIN. First, those nations responsible will see their conventional and nuclear forces systematically destroyed. Second, once your pitiful populations can do nothing more than passively await their deaths, our bombers and missiles will ensure that every 100 square kilometers recieves a high-yield warhead. Third, our soldiers will land on the radioactive wasteland that was once a nation and sow the land with salt so that nothing may ever grow again.

If the nations of the CIN doubt that the Imperium has the will or desire to carry through with our promise, then they should launch their nuclear weapons. The deaths that await the foolish nations, and their populations, that do so will be terrible indeed.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y110/heat3000/pic2_02.jpg

Before the tensions increase any further, we would like to express a few points as to the direction this conflict is heading.

We are extremely distressed by our fellow CIN member, Leocardia, and their threat of nuclear force. Nuclear weapons should only be used as a measure of last resort, and even then, a nation should carefully analyze the effects of a nuclear blast in the region.

Furthermore, the Federation wishes for the parties involved to undergo more diplomacy before this conflict gets out of hand.

While the Federation allies itself with the Empire of Shazbotdom at the current; it should be noted that, should Shazbotdam become the aggressor in this conflict, we shall pull back all support. The same can be said if there is use of nuclear weaponry in this conflict; should nuclear weapons be used, the Federation will ally herself against the side that first used them, regardless of wheather the other side has nuclear retaliated.

Signed,
Alicia Daniels

Parliament House, Dowland City

It seemed like a long time since Alexander I, King of the Grand Monarchy of Skinny87, had just taken time out to relax and unwind. Taking occasional power naps on a bed or couch just didn't recharge his batteries, as they had done in his earlier years. Even though he was barely thirty years old, he felt about fifty; the strains of leadership were putting bags under his eyes and having who knew what other physical detriments on his body.

It wasn't just his body, either, he mused as he walked towards the Conference Room that was joined to his office by a small, private, corridor. He was becoming far more cynical than he had ever been, even in the trenches during the Civil War. It worried him, as he wondered what else might occur. A good rest would do him him a world of good; unfortunately, at the moment that rest seemed further away than it ever had been, thanks to this latest crisis.

He opened the door into the conference room silently and closed it behind him, footsteps silent on the carpeted floor. Sunlight filtered into the room through several large bay windows set into the wall, casting dark shadows onto the table and the men and women gathered around it. They all stood up at Alexander's entrance, but he waved a hand impatiently and they sat down again. Taking his place at the head of the table, directly opposite several large computer screens showing the flag of the Grand Monarchy, Alexander sipped quickly at a cup of water. Finishing off the water, he then nodded once. This was the signal for the conference to begin.

The light dimmed as the windows turned from opaque to deep black, using electronic impulses to control the light, and electric lights sprung on overhead. On the computer screens, the three-dimensional flag was replaced by several different images. On one screen was a three-dimensional globe of the planet, zoomed out to show the surrounding space, and on another was a camera feed from a ship or room of some kind.

Secretary of Defense Paul Hunter turned to Alexander, face grim even through the dimmed light. "We're sorry to call you at such short notice, Your Majesty, but this is something extremely important." Alexander nodded, and Hunter continued. The globe on the screen slowly rotated and then zoomed in, focusing in on the borders of a small nation, whose geography was unfamiliar to Alexander. A moment later the map flickered - updating the real-time footage being taken by one of the MILSTAR Satellites that orbited above the planet - and then text began appearing on the screen, black letters contrasting with the subdued green and brown hues the map consisted of.

The phrase 'Saint Fedski' appeared at the top centre of the image, and to the far left vital statistics began to scroll slowly down, highlighting the military, economic and political situation in the country. For a moment Alexander was silent, reading the information and analysing it. The nation was a relatively large and populous nation, apparently within a few months of reaching a population of two billion people. Other information scrolled downwards, much of it superfluous. However, when it came to the section entitled 'International Relations', Alexander sighed as he read the short but detailed paragraph that was under the vague title. He turned to Hunter, who was sitting in his customary position to the right of Alexander.

"So this...Saint Fedski... is under the threat of invasion by at least one global alliance, if not more. Normally such a conflict wouldn't be bothered with, especially given the Golden Throne crisis...but it would appear that Saint Fedski is a member of the Questarian Commonwealth?"

Hunter nodded, face grim. He pressed a button on the computer screen that was et flush into his section of the table, and sat silently as another of the computer screens changed from a cross-section of Saint Fedski to display a diplomatic communique. The message bore the new flag of Questers, and the message that sat beneath the two large flags was terse and to the point. Hunter gave the King a moment to read the communique, then nodded to the man sitting opposite him. Clearing his throat, the Foreign Secretary, Terrence Bakerson picked up a slim manilla folder and slid it across the desk to where Alexander sat and began speaking; his voice was reedy and high-pitched, sounding somewhat like a pre-pubescent teenager.

"I'm afraid we have little choice in this, Your Majesty. Saint Fedski is in imminent danger of being invaded by a military force several times her size, and as a founding member of the Commonwealth we cannot be seen to be anything but supportive in this matter. We must deploy military forces in aid of this country, or we should face severe political consequences. I'm afraid my opposite number in Questers was quite adamant in this."

Alexander glared at Bakerson for a moment; he thoroughly disliked the man. He was a relic from the days of Xavier Martin and his Presidency, and by rights should not have been anywhere in the present government. The Act of the People that had given Alexander his title and position as leader of the Grand Monarchy had stated clearly that no serving member of Martin's administration should remain in office. Most had either been killed in the fighting in Dowland City during the last days of the Civil War, or had taken early retirement when Alexander took power. Bakerson however, had managed to worm and blackmail his way into retaining his position.

Alexander would have had him thrown out years ago, but unfortunately there were two factors in the thin mans favour. Firstly - and Alexander was loathed to admit this - Bakerson was good at his job and experienced, something a new government needed. Secondly, Bakerson was rumoured to have files on many members of Alexander's government which contained documents many wanted to see burnt to a crisp. Any move against him would mean having the files exposed; thus, Bakerson had the power to keep his position and the power it commanded. And from the way he smiled as he waited for Alexander to respond, he knew it.

Grimacing mentally, Alexander nodded to Bakerson; he was damned if he was going to thank the man for doing his job. Turning to his own computer screen, which was larger than the ones the other Cabinet Members posessed, he tapped at the onscreden controls and watched as the screen that held the map of Saint Fedski zoomed out again until it had both Saint Fedski and the Grand Monarchy on screen. Tapping a few more controls, Alexander bought up a cluster of symbols on the map, many of them slowly moving; on the screens around the main one, details of various military formations of the Grand Monarchy were displayed, unit numbers and statistics scrolling down at various speeds. This done, Alexander turned to Paul Hunter.

"What forces do we have in the region, Paul? If we have to show the flag, I'd rather have something solid in there."

Hunter studied his own screen for a moment, leaning over it manipulating controls and tapping at buttons, then straightened up and pointed at the main screen. One of the cluster of symbols blinked several times, and details of the symbol were displayed on one of the adjacent screens. A three-dimensional image of a Super-Dreadnought appeared, slowly rotating.

"The Tripoli Battlegroup is currently enroute to Nerotika for a peace-keeping mission - show the flag and make sure the locals don't do anything stupid. She's only a few hundred miles away from Saint Fedski at the moment with Rear-Admiral Higgins in command, Your Majesty; Higgins is a good man in this kind of situation, and the Tripoli should give us more than enough of a presence there."

Alexander nodded thoughtfully. An entire Battlegroup headed by a Superdreadnought would certainly impress the Saint Fedski government and show them that the Grand Monarchy was not slacking in its duties to the Commonwealth. He frowned for a moment; would the Tripoli be enough?

"Paul, I'd feel safer if we had some troops on the ground as well. Someone who can dig in if there is an invasion. Do we have anythign ready that fits the criteria?"

Hunter tapped a button and another screen came online, showing the details of another military unit - this one a Rapid Reaction Force.

"We have the Third RRF on station in New Kaylee. The Third is a Mechanised RRF consisting of five thousand troops, one hundred Lion MBTs and around one hundred-fifty APCs. They can be in Saint Fedski within twelve hours, and the Eighth RRF can be there within twenty-four if neccessary."

Alexander nodded his approval.

"Excellent. Send the neccessary orders and have the units begin deployment. Meanwhile, I'll draft a communique to be sent out to all the neccessary channels. Hopefully none of this will be neccessary, but we'll have to go through the motions anyway."

He tapped at his computer screen and began typing as the rest of the Cabinet nodded and filed out. Alexander glared again at Bakerson as the man left the room. Once this crisis was over, he would have to find a way to deal with the oily little swine.

From: His Royal Majesty, King Alexander I

To: Members of the Questarian Commonwealth and Other Involved Nations

It has come to the notice of the government of the Grand Monarchy that the nationstate of Saint Fedski is under threat of invasion by outside forces. As a founding member of the Questarian Commonwealth, it is felt that appropriate actions must be taken to protect Saint Fedski from any inappropriate actions that might be taken by hostile powers.

As such, a Superdreadnought Battlegroup and a Rapid Reaction Force have been ordered to deploy to Saint Fedski, and will arrive shortly. The Grand Monarchy hopes that no unfortunate actions will take place and that this matter will be resolved amicably via diplomacy. However, the Grand Monarchy is more than willing to protect a member of the Commonwealth from invasion. As cuh, any military action taken against Saint Fesdski or any of its armed forces will be treated as a de facto declaration of war against the Grand Monarchy.

Once again, it is the fervent hope of this government that this matter may be solved through non-violent means. May peace reign once again.

IC:

Hotdogs2 has at long last decided upon what stance to take to this war: One of Neutrality. Being an ally of Questers we will however come to their aid should they be attacked, or if our aid is requested.

However we do not want to declare war upon other nations which we see as friendly or not a problem. We also are appaled by the threats of nuclear attack. Should a nuclear attack occur Hotdogs2 will have no qualms with attacking whichever nation used them. We will, excuse the motto, "Strike first, Strike Hard", that is particulary directed towards Leocardia and their threat of nuclear attack. For that reason Nuclear submarines are currently heading towards strategic possitions within range of Leocardia and also attack submarines will attempt to track Leocardia's missile submarines.

Official Announcement from the Republic of Blackwood

The Republic has always wanted peace to reign, and this time is no exception as we vow to do our utmost to prevent a war and to preserve our neutrality if said war should erupt despite our actions to the contrary.
We are however is most upset that Leocardia has threatened to use nuclear weapons, even before said nation has come to any harm. We are equally displeased with Scandavian States' threat of genocide, and we beg the leaders of both nations to strongly reconsider, lest they want to have the deaths of billions on their conscience.

Seeing that the armed conflict that might erupt as a result of this situation will claim hundres of thousands of lives, billions if the reckless threats of the Scandavian States and Leocardia are carried out, President Stewern is more than willing to mediate in this conflict.
In addition, a peacekeeping force will be deployed in the nations of Saint Fedski and West Corinthia, should any of those nations want it. Blackwood is not allied or associated with any of the involved factions, and they can rely on us to be impartial.

"So we put ourselves between them and the Commonwealth? With the threat of nuclear weapons on the line?" Asked Dom.

"No," Said Keene "We try to keep this from coming to war in the first place."

"What are you talking about?"

"We offer to host talks. Get all the parties sitting down. See if we can find a solution that doesn't involve a generation dying."

In an attempt to prevent this situation from escalating into armed, and possibly nuclear conflict, the Holy Confederacy of New Aeson will make a unilateral offer to host talks. We do this in a hope that this situation can be resolved with words before it becomes necessary to resolve it with actions. The Holy Confederacy will also take full responsibility for security procedures inside the conference hall. St. Harriet Air Defense Force Base, 45 miles outside Oured, AUV

Jesus H. Christ, it's cold.

The trooper, dressed in a forest-pattern BDU and shouldering his carbine, half-marched, half strolled down the damp runway, his unsecured helmet bobbing up and down on top of his shaven head, the cold air nipping at him. As far as he could see, the air base was abuzz with activity as soldiers, pilots, and ground crew scurried forth between buildings, as small trolleys carrying ordinance went from the myriad of aircraft parked on the runways, delivering a plethora of bombs, missiles, and shells to the waiting maintenance crews. Turning a corner, he walked on to a taxiway, where a seemingly endless row of ISF-9 Hawk air superiority fighters were parked, the blue-white emblem of the Allied Union Air Defense Force emblazoned on each fighter's vertical stabilizer contrasting with the dark grays and whites of the fighters' camouflage schemes. He continued to stare at the sight of so many war birds in one place, and if he hadn't grown accustomed to such a sight, he would've been awestruck.

Shrugging, he turned back, headed for his barracks. If he didn't grab something warm to wear, he'd probably freeze and become a permanent fixture on the ground. He spun on his heel, and ran to catch a tractor that was towing a microwave emitter behind it to dry the airstrip (there had been a rainstorm the night before), jumping onto one of its side sponsons, much to chagrin of its operator. Alexei looked up. Witnessing the shenanigans of a base security soldier and a ground crewman, he smirked slightly before casting his gaze back upon the control panel he was working on. His flight suit was slightly ruffled, and his flight helmet sat right next to the cannon port of his ISF-9, not a very good proposition, considering the artwork on it was highly stylized and done by Alexei himself. He continued to check the electronic readouts of the aircraft until a slight roar caused him to rise a bit out of the opened cockpit. His well-honed eyes scanned the horizon, and spotted it, an ISF-4 Xeon rising into the crisp morning air, its twin PD-turbofan hybrid engines pulsating with raw power, as the graceful aircraft lifted higher and higher into the wild blue.

Alexei was interrupted from his reverie by his aircraft’s flight computer, which procured a beep that was only slightly audible over the general din of the air base. He looked downwards at the man ordinance screen of the Hawk.

System Check Complete. All Systems Operational.

He lifted himself out of the aircraft, jumping the meter or two from the edge of the canopy to the hard concrete of the taxiway. He spent another few minutes looking over his plane, checking for any malfunctions or damage that could give him a headache later on. The flight to Saint Fedski would be a long, tedious affair, and he didn’t want something to go wrong on top of everything else. Pushing himself out from under the aircraft, he decided the state of his aircraft was satisfactory, and climbed into the cockpit, signaling the crew chief that he was ready to launch. The crew chief nodded, and gave him the thumbs up. Unfortunately for him, his was his squadron’s number three, and, to preserve order in what could easily become a Charlie Foxtrot of aircraft and equipment, he had to wait for the rest of his squadron to achieve readiness, and, as the bloke two in the number five plane was having an number two engine malfunction, that could be quite a while away. He grabbed his helmet and fiddled with it, relaxing himself in the canopy and resting his head against the ejection seat’s upper section. He figured he might get a little rest, as he wouldn’t have that opportunity for the rest of the day, should things iron out. He pulled a pair of sunglasses from his flight suit’s chest pocket, lifted them over his eyes, and closed them.

“Hey, shit face, wake up!”

Alexei jolted up in his seat, his glasses falling into his lap. Struggling to find the source of this sudden burst of sound, his eyes scanned to his left. A ground crewman, Sgt. Jenkins, signaled for him to close his canopy and prepare to launch. He obliged, press his canopy control, sealing him off from the world around him as he donned his helmet and connected it to the aircraft, watching its displays light up. He secured himself into his ejection seat, feeling his suit slightly pressurize.

Fuck, my sunglasses.

He searched frantically for his beloved eyewear, spotting them resting against his foot. Struggling against his harness, he picked him up, tucking him into his pocket before leaning back into his seat, slightly annoyed. Pivoting his head to the side, he watched and his number one and number two aircraft taxied out onto the runway, lifting into the sky. Now, it was his turn. The voice of an air controller echoed through his headset clear as a bell, giving him taxiing permission. Accepting the permission, he increased his throttle by only a smidgeon, causing the aircraft to heave forward. Applying his rudder, he turned the aircraft left in the direction of the taxiway, starting down the small concrete strip at only a few kilometers per hour. Executing another turn, he came on to the tarmac runway itself. Carefully aligning himself with the runway, he dropped his throttle to bare minimum, if but only to keep his engines warm. He then proceeded to run a final check of his maneuvering systems, flexing his thrust-vectoring systems and canard fins, giving the impression to those not familiar with modern combat aircraft that the fighter was ‘flexing’.

“Triad Three, cleared for take off, over.”

Alexei smiled. Finally… He gunned the engines, disabling the air-brake, causing the aircraft to began to roll down the runway, gaining speed until he pulled gently back on the stick, causing his craft’s incessant buckling to stop as he climbed into the overcast sky, leaving his airfield behind him.

I have received reports that Velkyan armed forces have been deployed in Saint Fedski. I must say that I am most displeased that you have deployed armed forces, and I hope you will reconsider and withdraw said forces.

Thís situation can all too easily escalate into a war, a war where Leocardia has threatened to use nuclear weaponry and several nations have stated that they intend to commit genocide upon the nation of Leocardia should such an attack occur. The lives of billions hangs in the balance, and I hope you agree with me in my desire to avoid this.

Therefore I implore you to withdraw your forces. I do not ask that you don't take any interest in the well being of your allies, nor do I presume to dictate Velkyan foreign policy in any other way, but I must insist that there will be no deployments of military forces.

We have in no way threatened invasion of Saint Fedski. I don't know what lies that they have been spreading but all we said is taht they are being put on the 'Enemies of the Empire' list, which intails that Corporations within the Dark Empire are not allowed to import or export merchandise to nations on this list. They are spreading false lies about our threats of invasion and are thus escilating this situation further than it has to be.

Official Statement From The Allied Union Of Velkya

The Allied Union, sharing the sentiments of the Excessively Armed Empire, is thoroughly unimpressed with the empty and pointless threats of Leocardia and it's ilk. As allies with the aggressor, they are in no position to make any demands of the Commonwealth, much less threaten it with nuclear warfare, a proposition that can only result the transformation of the bases and populations of the CIN into great oceans of glass and fire.

We shall stand vigilant in our pledge to keep the imperialistic scum off the shores of Saint Fedski, as we stand unwavering in our mission.

*ENCRYPTED DIPLOMATIC TRANSMISSION*

I cannot speak for the nation of Leocardia, but the Dark Empire only wishes for Saint Fedski to appologize to the Nation of West Corinthia for damagers rendered in an illegal assault. We never threatened war, and we never threatened nuclear strikes.

..::Official State Of The Imperium::..

The Dark Empire cannot speak for for it's allies, but we have never threatened the use of any Weapons of Mass Destruction. All we ask for is that Saint Fedski appologize to the people and government of West Corinthia for the unlawful killings of military officers trying to retake a town from an invading nation. To reitterate, we have never threatened war and we have never threatened the use of WMD's.

We understand the concerns of the nations allied with West Corinthia, however, they are as irelevent as the price of socks in DontPissUsOff. The fact remains that an ally of the United Kingdom; a nation that has vowed to defend the UK and her Empire should the need arise, is in danger, and we are ready to stand by it and defend it to the last should it be attacked for whatever reason. We know that Saint Fedski has not followed all the rules, so to speak, but we will tell you this now.

We also thank the nations of the the Questarian Commonwealth and Scandavian States for their support of Questarian and Fedski actions. This proves that liberty and freedom, once at threat, and once called to be defended will always be upheld, no matter the cost.

To the use of nuclear weapons in the conflict, we repeat the Scandavian message: use them, and we will destroy you utterly so that you remains exist only in books.

Regarding the stance of Automagfreek, a tyrannical nation which spreads evil and destruction where it stamps its vile jackboot, we remind Automagfreek that freedom always prevails, no matter the cost. HMS Tripoli, 25 Miles Off Saint Fedski

The sea churned beneath the bow of the Tripoli, dirty-blue waves sending hundreds of gallons of seawater crashing against the gray hull of the mighty vessel. In a few months these actions, repeated a million times, would cause the paint to scar and peel, revealing the ugly, riveted metal beneath the paint. For now, however, the fury of nature itself could do nothing to the majestic ship but inconvenience the sailors and ratings that scuttled across the open decks on the lower areas of the vessel, soaking their waterproofs through and occasionally slamming a foolish sailor into a bulkhead or railing. Dozens of sailors a year would be lost to the waves, plucked from the decks and tossed into the furious maelstrom that churned beneath them; today, however, there were no such unlucky souls.

High above the waves, safe inside the heavily-armoured command centre of the Tripoli, Rear-Admiral Jonas Higgins watched impassively as his crew went about their work; tens of thousands of sailors were required to crew the Superdreadnought, and below him on the main deck Higgins caould see hundreds of those men and women go about their duties. He rubbed absent-mindedly at his chin, feeling the stubble rasp beneath his fingers, and observed a gun-crew climb around one of the massive turrets that housed one of the many large-calibre guns that made the Tripoli the fearsome naval power that she was. A dozen crewmen, clad in the same featureless grey overalls that all guncrews wore, ran into the massive turret whilst perhaps another ten crewmen used the ladders and handholds welded onto one side of the turret to gain access to the barrel of the mighty weapon.

With an almost deafening roar the turret suddenly began rotating clockwise, gears grinding to bring the weapon to bear on some target far beyond normal eyerange. Higgins waited, but there came no crescendo as the barrel fired and hurled its shell towards an enemy target; indeed, he would have been surprised and not a little worried if it had; the Battlegroup had registered no enemy or even neutral contacts on its Radar and Sonar screens for the five hours it had come onto station by the Saint Fedski coast. Instead, the barrel lowered until it was flush with the deck, and the exterior crewmen began climbing onto and around the barrel, using huge brushes and buckets to wash the barrel down and remove some of the excess saltwater from where the turret had been soaked by waves. The interior crewmen rushed out and too began climbing up to the others, bringing with them the cases of grease that would be unpacked and slathered onto the massive barrel to reduce friction and ensure the weapon remained in perfect working order.

"Sir?"

The word, spoken quietly and in a respectful tone, bought Higgins out of his reverie and back to reality. Turning, he faced a man wearing a Royal Navy uniform, waterproof galoshes partially covering his peaked cap and dark-blue uniform. The sailor - a young Ensign not long out of the Naval Academy at Dowland Naval Academy - gave the Rear-Admiral a nervous smile and offered Higgins the steaming cup that he held in both hands. Higgins took the mug and murmured a word of thanks, nodding at the Ensign. Ripping off a salute that would have bought tears to the eye of even the harshest of naval instructors, the man scurried off back into the bowels of the ship and back to whichever duties he was concerned with.

Raising the cup to his mouth, steam fogging the crescent-shaped glasses that he wore, Higgins took a sip of the hot brown liquid that the vessel contained and gave a contented sigh. Hot Chocolate always calmed his nerves; even in the mid of baattle or some nerve-wracking task, Higgins could always be seen with a mug of the liquid either in his hand or nearby; this had caused the crew to give him the affectionate nickname of 'Choccy', although none would ever utter it to his face. Walking back into the warmth of the Operations Centre that housed the 'brain' of the Tripoli, Higgins placed the mug down on a velcro pad, mug adhering to it due to its own patch on its bottom. Satisfied that the mug would not fall and douse someone in boiling liquid, Higgins then walked over to the centre of the Ops Centre, the massive, double-sided computer screen that acted as an old-fashioned Markings Chart had. Here, updated every second by telemetry recieved from MILSTAR satellites in geo-synchronous orbit, were displayed the position of every vessel in the Battlegroup and any other vessels that the satellites could detect.

Higgins watched as the ratings clustered around the massive screens imputted data and manipulated controls, absorbing the information recieved from above them and forming it into cogent and tactically-useful data. Higgins grunted as he saw a three-dimensional version of the Tripoli flicker and move a centimetre across the screen as the screen updated the SDs position in the ocean. The Tripoli was in the middle of the screen, and arrayed around it in a concentric ring were the smaller Battleships and Aircraft Carriers that formed the core of the Battlegroups firepower.

Then several miles out came the Cruisers and Destroyers, staggered in formation and moving faster than the other, larger, vessels. Then came the tiny Frigates and Submarines at the very edge of the screen, nipping about with their powerful little engines; they would be the first naval line of defense against any potential attack. Then across the board were the other markers; the hundreds of aircraft - fighters, interceptors and transporters - that circled and criss-crossed the fleets airspace, ferrying vital crago or serving as the eyes for the Battlegroup. Finally, clustered near the SD and her escorts were the smaller transport ships that held inside their thin hulls the ten-thousand men and women of the 28th Naval Infantry Division; the Battlegroups very own ground force, for discretionary use by the Battlegroup Commander himself.

Higgins gave a short nod of satisfaction as he watched the display and the men and women that moved around it; everything seemed to be in perfect order. He watched for a moment longer than moved away, towards the Wheelhouse and the Communications Centre. However, before he could make it there an aide, this time wearing the pips of a Lieutenant-Commander, walked up to Higgins, saluted, and presented him with a message flimsy. Dismising the man with a curt wave, Higgins tore open the flimsy and read the short message it contained. He grunted, placed the piece of paper into a pile of others that would be burnt within the hour, and moved back to the computer screens. He watched as the telemtry changed and a new series of contacts were spotted, processed and finally plotted onto the board. The new symbols, different to the others, were moving rapidly compared to the vessels and aircraft of the Battlegroup. Within a few minutes they would be over Saint Fedski and one of its major airports.

The Third Rapid Reaction Force was officially deployed in Saint Fedski. To Higgins this was nothing but good news; now there would be no need to deploy the 28th into Saint Fedski as he had planned to do. The Ground-pounders could deal with that whilst the tens of thousands of men and women under his command watched the ocean for any sign of enemy activity...

The Armed Superpower Empire of Leocardia has indeed threatend the use of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons against the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski. All threats, however seriously intended, are considered extremely hostile and as such a threat to the peace and security of the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski.

Given the heightened alarm and flaring tensions, the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski has pushed a resolution through, adding the The Armed Superpower Empire of Leocardia to the 'National Enemy Act'.

In light of the hostility that The Armed Superpower Empire of Leocardia wished to bring to the table, the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski has no choice but to immediately enact the National Enemy Act.

In order to prevent hostilities from breaking out, The Armed Superpower Empire of Leocardia must follow the steps enclosed.

1) Immediately retract all threats of nuclear, biological and/or chemical warfare.
2) Immediately issue a formal, public apology to the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski
3) Immediately recognize the five hundred kilometer barrier surrounding any military or political deployment of the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski, as the minimum limit of a peaceful distance for the passage of military equipment of The Armed Superpower Empire of Leocardia.
4) Immediately recognize the formation of a one thousand kilometer exclusion zone within which no military vessel, aircraft or vehicle from The Supreme Tyranny of Jaredcohenia may enter.
5) Immediately recognize a five hundred kilometer exclusion zone from Kahanistan in which military equipment from The Armed Superpower Empire of Leocardia is strictly prohibited from entering.
6) Immediately stand down all offensive weapons including but not limited to nuclear, biological and chemical devices.
7) Immediately stand down all potential forces for use against the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski and her allies.
8) Immediately agree to cease threats, both indirect and direct against the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski and
9) Immediately issue a public acceptance of these terms.

The Armed Superpower Empire of Leocardia has left the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski with no other alternative. After all avenues of discussion, and numerous warnings issued, The Armed Superpower Empire of Leocardia still persisted in threatening and provoking the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski.

OFFICAL STATEMENT
Sir Edward Teach, Secretary General

The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski sincerely appreciates the support, both politically and militarily, that has come so quickly from our allies in the Questarian Commonwealth.

The support from His Majesty’s United Kingdom and Rising Sun has been both a reassurance and an additional boost for morale.

The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski will assure her allies that no blood from the Questarian Commonwealth is spilt unnecessarily should nations included under the ‘National Enemy Act’ violate the policies and procedures of the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski. Violations include but are not limited to entry into an exclusion zone as declared in official announcements by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defence.

The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski considers those included under the ‘National Enemy Act’ to be of the greatest threat to the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski and recommends that the Socialist Republic of Jaredcohenia and the Armed Holy Democratic Empire of Asgarnieu be considered high among threats to the peace of the Questarian Commonwealth.

The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski holds the support of the Questarian Commonwealth close to heart and does not wish for violence, arising from false statements, to begin. It is for that reason that the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski shall do the honourable and honestly correct inaccurate statements and facts that have been thrown around by her allies and those on the opposition alike.

FACT
The Dark Empire of Shazbotdom declared war on the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski after a twenty-four hour grace period.

FACT
Mobilization has begun in the Dark Empire of Shazbotdom.

FACT
The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski did indeed launch a highly successful strike on the West Corinthian positions, reducing its threat to peace in the process.

FACT
The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski apologized for the casualties but refused to pay reparations.

FACT
The Socialist Republic of Jaredcohenia and the Holy Armed Democratic Empire of Asgarnieu threatened overtly hostile actions, including but not limited to nuclear, biological and chemical warfare.

FACT
The Socialist Republic of Jaredcohenia, the Holy Armed Democratic Empire of Asgarnieu and the Armed Superpower of Leocardia have been included under the ‘National Enemy Act’, prohibiting the respective militaries from entering a one thousand kilometer exclusion zone around the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski and its protectorates. Exclusion zones also include five hundred kilometers away from all Saint Fedskian deployments and allies of the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski, namely Kahanistan.

FACT
The Socialist Republic of Jaredcohenia and the Holy Armed Democratic Empire of Asgarnieu, should they choose to violate the exclusion zones, will immediately be declared an imminent threat to the peace of the Commonwealth and will be subject to military force from the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski.

FACT
No threats have been made to the actual invasion of the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski.

The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski stood alone against the shadow of the GASN for long enough. The time has come to draw the line.

The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski, with two days remaining of the original eight, requests that all nations, opposed to the temporary placement of force in the Czarist Republic of West Corinthia, in the interest of peace, withdraw all threats in light of recent development. It can be assured that the removal of the temporary placement of force will continue as planned, after the withdrawal of threats.

Also in light of recent events, the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski still regards the Socialist Republic of Jaredcohenia and the Holy Armed Democratic Empire of Asgarnieu as primary threats and the Dark Empire of Shazbotdom a secondary threat. All attempts to ensure peace will be made, however, should The Socialist Republic of Jaredcohenia, the Holy Armed Democratic Empire of Asgarnieu or the Armed Superpower Empire of Leocardia violate the policies as set down by the ‘National Enemy Act’, the choice to escalate the conflict will have been made.

The official position of the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski stands as “don’t cross the line and peace will remain.”

The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski thanks the Questarian Commonwealth for their support against the tyrannical alliance that is the GASN.

You are neither threatening nuclear weapons nor are you mobilising any sort of force. The nations that are being responded to have directly threatend the use of force in an offensive action. Shaz has, to my knowledge only threatened defensive action and not even nuclear at that. So replies to lesser threats are lower on the totem pole.

Good job ending a possibly good RP. When people bring in gigantic alliances of 4 billion+ nations into a small conflict, it ruins everything. This wasn't going to be a gigantic war, it was going to be a small conflict to force Fedski out of West Corinthia, where he didn't need to be.

I say we just act like this thread never existed so we can actually RP for once. I don't want to be threatened with rape by Questers and his merry band of gigantic nations just because of ONE SMALL CONFLICT. Settle down and let a nice little fight go through.

There would not have been any nuclear attacks, it's a threat and anyone who takes a nuclear threat worded the way that one was seriously is a moron. No offense, Fedski, but your people apparantly don't have common sense.

Fight. End. Nothing else happens.

That is all I have to say. :|

Flaming and calling people "morons" OOC because of your dislike of their IC actions is simply not on.

I do wish that people would seperate themselves and their IC nations. Questers and the Questerian Commonwealth may be very large, but we have a right to RP as well, and frankly if you didn't know that Saint Fedski wasn't in the Questerian Commonwealth before you decided to attack his peacekeepers then it's your own fault for not finding out.

This could still be a good RP. It's not as if there are going to be massive invasions of peoples' mainlands because of a brushfire war over some peacekeepers in a foreign nation. Sadly I think it shaln't be. It has been marred by OOC comment from the start and now much of the anti-SF side seems to be leaving in a huff because they no longer outnumber SF 5:1 with nuclear weapons at the ready.

Just like every other RP in this damned game, either nothing happens or it gets ignored. Nationstates isn't some sort of damned Nobel Peace Prize competition. Can't we for once just have a bit of fun, and not go off crying because our made-up nations might lose face in front of other made-up nations?]

Another West Corinthian Communique

As we have previously stated, never did we intend on invading the mainland of Saint Fedski. If necessary, we were willing to reclaim our own territory by force, but Saint Fedski has thus far been complying with our demands to withdraw peacefully.

It is unfortunate that this situation was allowed to spiral out of control as it did. Threats of nuclear weapons should have never been made, and they are not sanctioned by the government of West Corinthia.

It is our hope that Saint Fedski continues to withdraw peacefully, and that our relations can someday be amended. We have issued a warrant for the arrest of General Lynds, a warrant which we expect you will ignore. However, we shall never be anything more than 'neutral' as long as General Lynds goes without a fair and impartial trial within the West Corinthian court system. It is your choice whether to extradite your General, and I would consider it carefully.

We are continually shocked by your blatant attempts to cover up the truth of the incident at Buddenovsk. Your attack was extremely dishonorable, as it came with no signs of hostility, and your remaining occupation was imperialistic to say the least. We speak of a gentleman's war, though no war has yet been made. Nonetheless, a gentleman would not resort to sneak attacks and then hide behind a large alliance in an attempt to avoid taking responsibility.

Again, $75,000,000 was all we asked. The damages we suffered were not as severe as Saint Fedski has made them sound, but they were inflicted illegally nonetheless.

War can be avoided, and we feel it has been avoided. The only thing that can disrupt the peace process at this point is the involvement of uninformed allies. The involved GASN members are generally well-informed of the situation but we question the knowledge of some of Saint Fedski's allies regarding this ordeal.

The deadline to SF and the plea to GASN were made to encourage Saint Fedski's troop withdrawal to be quick and without incident. Instead, the opposite effect has occurred. In closing, we want all involved nations to think the situation through before acting too rashly.

[OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE FROM THE DESK OF DONED HOPKINS]
[THE NONAGON, NEW SARIS, ARALONIA]

How can a trial be impartial in your nation if your nation has such hate against your leader? I see a fallacy in that.

Remove this warrant immediately. Remember that we have halted production and are scrapping the Duke of Saris hulls you have purchased from Lycan and Broncks shipyards, and that we will bomb and destroy your current Duke of Saris-class vessels if you do not remove terms within the next four [OOC: RL] days.

Official Statement from the Dept. of Foreign Affairs

"Armis Exposcere Bellum"

The Militaristic Federation of Tyrandis finds much common cause with the Questarian and Saint Fedskian position. As our state conducts fairly significant business and trade with the vast majority of the SF faction, Tyrandis hereby declares an e'tat de belligerance with the Dark Empire of Shazbotdom and associated powers. Although our countries have had friction in past affairs [OOC: ViZion], we shall answer the call to arms with all due diligence. Our military stands ready to support our valued partners in the international community in this most unfortunate dispute.

However, the Federation would not desire to see armed conflict erupt, as such an event would lead almost inevitably to destruction on a scale never before seen on this Earth. As such, Tyrandis backs the proposal of the Empire of the Golden Throne, and would like to recommend mediation by a neutral party. If this incident is to explode into open war, however, we will deploy our forces to support the Questarian cause by any means necessary.

Statement made earlier today by Blaglugian President Johnny Smooth:

"There is no need for [intervention]. West Corinthia has stated many times its concerns in the situation and the RoB believes that Saint Fedeski is encroaching on West Corinthia's soveriegn rights. A peace force was needed, but no longer is and Saint Fedski's continued defiance to withdrawl by the perfectly resonable deadline set by West Corinthia and further supported by it's allies. Saint Fedski has the cabability to withdraw by the deadline and it's defiance to comply is only aggrovating this already tense situation. Furthermore, West Corinthia's request are completly trivial in "inconvenience" to SF. The Republic stands by its ally and if the troops are not withdrawn by the deadline, they will be forcefully removed."

Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Democratic Soviet Republic of Kahanistan has fought alongside Questarian Commonwealth nations in the past against common enemies such as the CAD powers, but never wished to join them.

While we support our ally St. Fedski to the fullest, we must take issue with the racist Questarian policy of interning Shazbotdomese nationals. Many of our own citizens hold ethnic affiliations with one or more enemy nations, due to our policies with regard to refugees and immigrants.

Were we to adopt a policy of interning those with ethnic affiliations with hostile nations, a sizable portion of our own civilian population and many of our highest-ranking military commanders would be unproductively interned.

It seems that Leocardia has done all in it’s power to avoid officially withdrawing threats of nuclear weapons. Despite the fact that Shazbotdom is an ally of the Empire, we can and will stand alongside Scandavian States in declaring that any nuclear, biological, or chemical attack launched by Leocardia will result in Leocardia being wiped from the face of the earth.

Now moving on to the real issue of this debacle,
The Empire finds herself in a web of enemies, hostile nations, threats, and a single ally in this affair. Shazbotdom is the only nation currently residing on our allied list, and so naturally would immediately receive our support. This is strengthened by the fact that nations such as Praetonia, Kahanistan, and others who have allegedly brought war upon CAD stand against Shazbotdom. However, the opposing side is no less lacking cordial relations with the Empire. GASN has attempted to stick their noses into the affairs of the Empire, where it did not belong, and was not wanted. Therefore we find it hard to declare support for their side.

As such all we can declare is that we would not like to see harm come to Shazbotdom. We shall communicate on private channels with them to try and resolve this and ask that other nations who have issued threats against Shazbotdom retract them until after our diplomacy has failed, or permanently if we succeed.

North Mack is preparing to deploy its soldiers to key areas in Shazb otdom should it be required! Shazbotdom will not stand alone in its hour of need! To the aggressors I say, you have 48 hours to stand down.

The Imperium once again reiterates its previous policy statement that any launch of nuclear weapons by Leocardia for any reason against any Commonwealth nation will result in the immediate destruction of Leocardia. Further, given the recent disgusting warmongering by the nation of Leocardia that has been discovered by the Foreign Services, the Imperium is even less inclined towards mercy than it was previously.

The Imperium warns the nation of Leocradia that the least sign of aggressive behavior towards the Commonwealth will incite our wrath and much the same can now be said for Leocardia's allies. The Imperium will not tolerate this level of foolishness by alliances of upstarts, even if it means breaking a few eggs to make an omelette.

The warning has been issued for the first and last time, the line that none should cross has been drawn. Should the GASN ellect to step over the line, they will not find the consequences the least bit pleasant.

Statement Regarding Continued Nuclear Blackmail From Leocardia
Omzian Foreign Ministry

The Omzian Democratic Republic has long been a standing member of the Commonwealth, and holds close ties with several of its members. Though we are satisfied that Leocardia has ceased their threats of offensive nuclear attacks against Commonwealth nations, we must emphasize our own position:

Under absolutely no circumstances will the Government of Leocardia use nuclear, radiological, and other similar weapons against Commonwealth nations, regardless of any possible conventional military attacks against Leocardia and its allies undertaken by the Commonwealth. If Leocardia chooses to disregard the warning, the ODR in support of its allies will carry out the complete neutralization of Leocardia through the most appropriate means possible.

We hope that Leocardia will reconsider its position in the name of its own interests.

Having looked over the recent withdrawl of Leocardia's threats we must still keep to our old possition, and as other Commonwealth nations have stated(despite the fact that we are not in the Commonwealth) we shall not stand for any attacks using WMD's by nations against the Commonwealth.

Further more we see very little difference between the old statement and the new one, simply the fact that Leocardia will use nuclear weapons if it is attacked instead, which if Shazbotdom is attacked and they are defending it it is very likely to happen, as so our nuclear submarines and attack submarines will continue to patrol the seas around Leocardia and commonwealth nations tracking Leocardian submarines.

We insist most strongly that you retract your threat of nuclear arms fully. Nuclear weaponry is a threat not only to the nation against which it is used, but against the whole world.

We are more than willing to send peacekeeping forces to gurantee your sovereignty, but again we insist that you do not threaten to use weapons of mass destruction in any way.
We will not assist a country that uses weapons of mass destruction, nor will we have any interest in helping to rebuild said nation after the massive retaliation that surely follows. Indeed, Blackwood itself would react most strongly agianst any attempt to use nuclear weapons.

Gray Room, Blackwood:
Short, friendly and a few pounds overweight, with her glasses sliding down to the tip of her nose, her fuzzy red hair always in a state of organized chaos and her voice a masculine pitch of professionality. Jean Robertson, Minister of Intelligence and Foreign Affairs.
Masculine wasn't the right word though. She wasn't masculine. Androgyn, or unisex, would be more correct. Her slim body had all the desired proportions of a well-shaped woman, though her suit and short hair cut gave her a more manly impression. Her chin wasn't square, nor was it as rounded as most womens', and she wore no kind of jewelry or earrings.
''It seems they're finally backing down, mister President.''
President Tom Stewern, Liberal Party. Middle-aged, his grey hair beginning to whiten on the sides. Normal length, thinner than most people but not underweight. His steady blue eyes piercing flesh and bone, looking into ones very soul. Though not really, now he was reading through the latest statement by the government of Leocardia, bought before him by Robertson.
''What do you suggest we do?'' he asked calmly, trusting her skill and delicacy in this matter.
''Send peacekeeping forces. Make it clear that we are not supporting any side in this conflict, but merely want to guarantee peace and prevent further bloodshed.''
''We tread a fine path her, Jean.''
''The only path worth treading'', she smiled. He responded, faintly.
''Jack, I trust we have forces to send.''
Jack Crawford, Minister of National Armed Forces, amongst other things. Sturdy, bold and military. Always dressed in an admiral's uniform, his hair never growing longer than a millimetre and fond of poiting with his whole hand. Always favouring the navy, ever since his own days aboard one of the Royal, now Republican, Navy's ships.
''You know we have, Tom'', he replied, a faint hint of sleepiness finding its way into his usually alert speech. It was nearly two PM. or 0200h as he would have put it.
''We've got the Sagittarius, the Taurus and the Centaurus...''
''What about the Jove?''
''Participating in an international exercise, sir. The Pisces is undergoing repairs.''
''And ground troops?''
''As many as you'd like.''
''Sir, if I may interrupt'', Jane said.
''Always,'' Tom replied. She blushed somewhat. A bit shy she was, despite her confident impression.
''I would suggest not sending too many soldiers. We're only establishinga presence, not going to war. Just send enough to make sure people know we'll be mad if they're hurt.''
''How many would you suggest?''
''Not more than 20 000...?'', she began, turning to Jack for help.
''A division'', he smiled approvingly. She sighed, relieved that she had passed the test.
''Great. Jack, we have any divisions lying around?'' Tom asked.
''I do think we can find one'', he assured.
''Good. And send the Taurus[i] and the [i]Sagittarius. And... send the.. no wait, have the Indomitable stand by but don't send her there just yet. Conducting field manouvers in the general area should be enough for now.''
''Yes, sir.''

Open Communique to the nation of Leocardia:
President Stewern has authorized me to assure you that peacekeeping forces are on their way, and will arrive shortly. Do not that we are only interested in maintaining peace in the province, not to aid you in any political agenda.
That said, you can expect the 4th Division under Major general Abraham Jacobsen shortly, as well as its aerial and specialist support; along with Main Battle Ships Taurus and Sagittarius, and escorts. Please prepare a suitable harbour, or a designated ladning zone for our ground troops if no dock can be found.

The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski respects and appluds the Centrist Demonarchy of Illior's effort for humanitarian aid. However, given the heightened tensions and the Asgarian violation of the exclusion zone, it is requested that the airlift adhere to some small restraints.

The airlift from the Centrist Demonarchy of Illior will not be permitted to fly within ten kilometers of the ground forces belonging to the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski or the standard twenty-five kilometers from the naval deployments. Futhermore, no aircraft are to attempt a landing within the area still protected by the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski.

Re: Support

On behalf of the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski I would like to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation for your support of the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski before its time of need.

While small players on the international scene and small potatoes in the Questarian Commonwealth, the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski does not wish for it to be overlooked when it comes to military action. As a primary player in this dispute, The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski wishes to remain at the forefront of the conflict simply to serve the feelings national pride.

The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski has some small requests regarding deployments.

Topping the list are issues regarding deployments to the Black Sea, which borders West Corinthia and is home to many fleets at the present time. The Principality of Wilhelmsborough has effectively closed off the Bosporus and Dardenelles straits from foreign navies. As The Principality of Wilhelmsborough is completely neutral in the matter, the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski asks that the Questarian Commonwealth respects it’s wishes and refrain from attempting to deploy in the Black Sea, unless first being granted permission to enter.

The Democratic Soviet Republic of Kahanistan is located near the region and is temporarily serving as the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski’s center of operations in the region until the issue in the Czarist Republic of West Corinthia can be settled. The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski has established an exclusion zone of five hundred kilometers around The Democratic Soviet Republic of Kahanistan in order to prevent nations included in the ‘National Enemy Act’ maintain a safer distance. Enforcement of this zone is vital to both the ‘National Enemy Act’ and the unchallenged supply lines to the Saint Fedskian deployments in the Czarist Republic of West Corinthia. It is asked that you request permission from Kahanistan before entering their air space or maritime territory.

At the moment, The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski can monitor traffic through its national exclusion zone but can only enforce a small portion of it. It is requested that naval forces deploying to the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski be assigned tasks in order to assist the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski in maintaining the exclusion zone.

Conflict can some from only two ways; a violation of the exclusion zones by a nation covered under the ‘National Enemy Act’ or an attack on forces belonging to the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski or any other peacekeeping nation currently in the Czarist Republic West Corinthia.

The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski wishes for a peaceful resolution to the present situation. Any ideas, suggestions or general comments would be most welcome in determining the many views within the Questarian Commonwealth.

Bridge of RN Taurus, off coast of Leocardia:
Vice Admiral Mark Armstrong looked out of the window. It gave him a sense of pride, confidence. Over there was the Main Battle Ship Sagittarius, steaming faithfully through the steel grey water. Five hundred metres long she was, and well armed. A majestic sight, truly an embodiment of the maritime might of Blackwood. Beside her were the cruisers Maxwell Arlington, named after a famous 18th century admiral, and the Viscount of Paddington; mighty ships in their own right, though dwarfed by the enormous juggernaught. Beside the Taurus were the amphibious assault ships Courageous and Daring, two of the many assault ships in the newly formed Task Force 17. Further to his right he could see the aircraft carrier Ardent, providing basic air cover and deep strike capabilities until Air Force units could be brought up.
''Vice Admiral Armstrong?''
Armstrong turned, catching one final glimpse of his Task Force. Facing him was a man in his mid-forties, wearing an Army uniform. His right eye was covered by an eye patch, a long scar running down his eyebrow towards his cheek. His face was further mutilated by a bullet wound on the side of his jawbone, giving his head a kind of tilted look.
''General Jacobsen'', Armstrong repsonded with a salute. ''I thought you would like to know that we're approaching the coast of Leocardia. We'll be landing shortly.''
''Indeed. Have we received any intel yet. I was told that High Command would send a satellite.''
''Aye, this came recently'', Armstrong said, handing over a peice of paper.
''This is it?''
''This is no high priority operation. We're supposed to prevent a war, not conducting large scale offensive manouvers. What intel you need to set up a basic defesive perimeter can be gathered on the spot. Another thing, we haven't received any designated landing zone yet, so you will land in the southwest once we've made contact with local officials.''
''Yes, sir. I shall see to it that my forces are prepared.''

To the Government of Leocardia:
''We have not received the location of any port suitable for our purposes, and will instead make our landing in the southwestern corner of your nation at 1600 hours. Please remove any and all civilians and other personell that might interfere with this stage of our operation. Thank you for your cooperation.
We require that you send a suitable representant to co-ordinate our efferts and aid us in our peace-keeping mission. Once again, thank you for your co-operation.

Signed
Commander Task Force 17, Vice Admiral Mark Armstrong
Commander 4th Division, Abraham Jacobson

LPH RN Courageous, a few hours later:
''Irene, I repeat, Irene. Commence Operation Tender Vigilance'', the speaker announced. Having informed the Leocardian government of the landing, Admiral Armstrong gave the order to initiate Operation Tender Vigilance, the codename of the landing of peacekeeping forces in Leocardia. Chaos ensued. Fighter pilots scrambled to man the jet planes, while the soldiers of the 4th Division prepared for the amphibious landing. Sea Knights and Ospreys would land troops beyond the shoreline to establish a perimeter beyond the landing zone, while LCUs would ferry most of the troops to the shore.

On the shore 1602 hours:
The LCU pulled up, the ramp first slowly, then more suddenly, lowering to allow the cramped soldier of the 9th Naval Infantry Regiment to charge up the beach and secure the beach head. Being elite soldiers, having trained for these kind of operations ever since they enrolled, they completed the task with perfect efficiency. Efficiency was also what charactherized the rest of the operation; already over a thousand troops had already landed or were in the process of doing so. Blackwood-modified Leopard 2s rolled of the larger landing crafts, along with similarily modified CV90s and, later, G6 howitzers.
The perimeter was set up a few hundred metres from the shoreline, with the commander's quarters located roughly in the middle of the large semi-circular line, with the artillery support not far from there. The perimeter would expand gradually as more troops and equipment arrived, until the entire divison had landed and set up local bases and forward command positions. Task Force 17 however, would mostly stay anchored off shore until Leocardia could provide a suitable port.

To the northeast 1558 hours:
''We have go, I repeat we have go!''
The two sections fast-roped down unto the scree. The men spread out to cover the other helicopters, taking up positions behind large rocks and other debris. They belonged to the 67th Mountainous Regiment, Charlie Brigade, of the 4th Division. The 67th Regiment had been dropped a few kilometres northeast of the others in its Brigade, along with the 22nd Mountainous Regiment from Bravo Brigade, to clear the mountains and scout for possible locations of a permanent headquarters. It had been decided previous to the landing that the strategy would be to take up positions in the mountian range. It offered good protection against a hostile force and the terrain allowed large forces to strike inlands without premature detection, should the need arise.

I will also add more detail to the post some time later.

In any threat toward Leocardia, we reserve the right to attack any enemy forces no matter what treaty or agreement is agreed on. Any attack on Leocardian military vessels and/or will result in a immediate destruction of forces, by the full force of Leocardia. Any spying or going into Leocardian International Water Zone, will be immediately fired upon. Any suspicious activity detected by either space radar, SONAR, ground radar, or any such will result to be fired on. We are serious about this situation and will not let anything such as these issues bypass us.

***OFFICIAL IMPERIAL PROCLIMATION***
TO: All Nations Involved
FROM: Mr. George A. Loak, Supreme Emperor of the Dark Empire of Shazbotdom

This is a message of great importance to those involved. The Dark Empire of Shazbotdom, after much long debate by myself and my Joint Chefs of Staff, have decided that we will drop the Nation of Saint Fedski off of our 'Enemies of the Empire' list and put them onto the 'Watch' list. This is done in the good faith that at the end of this period of time, the nation of Saint Fedki will return all control of their occupied region to the Nation of West Corinthia. We will though dispatch roughly 10 fire teams of the Shazbotodm "BlackOps" Special Operations to help the West Corinthians in the long and tedius process of making sure their nation is ready for what is to come in the near future. We appologise for what we have said in the past and we officially retract any statment that offended the Nation of Saint Fedski and her allies.

Blackwood is extremely upset that Leocardia has once again threatened the use of force. Your government would do well to remember that we have already deployed peace-keeping forces. They have only one goal, namely to preserve peace, and we see no reason for the government of Leocardia to think that we will tolerate their continued aggression.
We have been perfectly clear in stating our single purpose and goal in this crisis, and that is to prevent a war and escalation of the conflict. Our deployment of troops should not be seen as support for aggression from the side of Leocardia or associated countries. In fact, the only reason peace-keeping forces were deployed was to ensure the government of Leocardia that their people and national soverignty would not be violated if they kept a less aggressive profile.

We most strongly and forcefully demand that the nation of Leocardia retract all threats against Saint Fedski and all associated nation. We aks them to heed the wisdom of Shazbotdom, who, in an admirable attempt to reduce tension has reversed the escalation of hostilities.

Official Statement by the Prime Minister of the United Sovereign Nations of Southeast Asia, Yao Yang Nelson Neo
http://www.geonames.de/flag-asean.gif

Greetings Esteemed Delegations of All Parties Concerned,

The Saint Fedskian Commonwealth, a long-time old friend of the United Sovereign Nations of Southeast Asia (but we do not hold an alliance with one another), has gotten into yet another peacekeeping trip and has yet again been accused of imperialism thanks to a deadline set by the Government of the Czarist Republic of West Corinthia.
However, we feel that the Saint Fedskian Government has been falsely accused of imperialism all thanks to the fact that people have misinterpreted intentions in public statements regarding the Saint Fedskian Government. Peacekeeping, especially in states with internal crisis and turmoil, and in general, is never an easy task.

We know this thanks to communiqués from our long-time friends in the Saharistan War Coalition, especially with regards to the Democratic Imperium of Halberdgardia. Nobody is perfect, and ideas and proposals and time-schemes are only perfect on paper. In practice, it often turns out different. The Commonwealth Armed Forces have a rather large deployment in the Czarist Republic, and with regards to a lack of foresight, withdrawal of Commonwealth Armed Forces from the Czarist Republic have taken longer than expected.

As a result, the Czarist Republic has gotten angered at Saint Fedskian actions, and has summoned its allies in the Global Alliance of Sovereign Nations to make the Commonwealth comply with its withdrawal period of time faster. Unfortunately, it seems that yet another misinterpretation of intent has occurred and the Commonwealth seems to have taken it as threatening an Act of War, returning the favor by summoning its allies in the Questerian Commonwealth.

In many cases, such as this one, often nobody has the single blame but various parties do. One cannot blame the Commonwealth Armed Forces for not withdrawing within the time period originally anticipated thanks to various unforeseen circumstances. One cannot blame the Czarist Republic and its allies for being suspicious of Saint Fedskian intent. One cannot blame Saint Fedski for being cautious of hostile forces.

But this vicious cycle must be stopped. This series of events in West Corinthia must not be allowed to degenerate into violence.

As the Prime Minister of the Union, I am speaking on the behalf of my people of the United Sovereign Nations of Southeast Asia: we only desire a peaceful resolution to all this saber-rattling going on and about, and hope that diplomacy prevails and unnecessary bloodshed can be stopped.

Should the Armed Forces of Saint Fedski or any other allies of the Commonwealth within the area be attacked by belligerent parties within the area, then Southeast Asia shall have no choice but to side with the Saint Fedskian Commonwealth and its allies.

I only wish for the best, but I am prepared for the worst should unfortunately occur.

Yours Sincerely,
His Right Honorable Prime-Executive Leadership

**DEFENCE UPDATE**
Transmitted to the Questarian Commonwealth
The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski has shot down thirty Asgarnian F-15s and a electronic surveillence aircraft.

The Dark Empire of Shazbotom has begun to deploy marines to the frontlines.

The United Democratic Empire of Asgarnieu has once again violated the exclusion zone and has also moved previously hidden ground forces to within fifty kilometers of the Saint Fedskian occupation zone. The Commonwealth Armed Forces have responded by doubling air patrols and striking at the airfield from which the Asgarnian aircraft have taken off.

The Commonwealth Armed Forces have begun to remobilize for a strong defence and possible counter-attack on West Corinthian soil. An attack by the Czarist Republic of West Corinthia is now expected shortly thus plunging the region into war.

The folowing submarines are being sent to the vacinity of West Corinthia, but will stay to the clear International Waters and for now will be a purely ovservational Force. Forces in the area soon to arrive are:

40x Haenulf (Stortbek 'B')-class SSK
10x Stortbek-class SSK
16x Chamberlain-class SSBN
12x Palace-class SSBN
20x Nowotny-class SSN
10x Tichy-class SSN

(SSK=Patrol, SSN=Attack, SSBN=Ballistic Missile).

The forces shall stay out of the way of other fleets, but be warned that they are within the area and if fired upon, in particular by GASN/Anti-Commonwealth nations action, possibly including war, will occur.

''Fuckin' nuts!''
''Tom, you might want to skip that in the press conference.''
''Now's not the time for your jokes, Jack. This is gettin' nasty.''
''Tom, we need to take this easy and'', Jean started, but was cut off short by President Stewern.
''Fuck easy! They're makin' it hard for themselves, the nutcases!''
''Take it easy now, Tom'', Jack sternly advised him. Stewern breathed heavily a couple of times before he spoke again, this time more calmly.
''What do we know about the situation at this time? I mean, things can get ugly if the Leocardians feel they can't trust us.''
''We only know that none of our ships have seen any ships being sunk. we've made numerous contacts with Hotdogian subs, and we have monitored them colsely to satisfy the Leocardian government; but, as I said, no sinkings.''
''And Task Force 17 monitores the entire coastal region of Leocardia?''
''Yes, they even have orders to escort Leocardian ships in sub-infested areas. Besides, if there had been an attack, our forces would have picked up the distress signal. And even if they didn't, the Leocardian navy would have contacted us the moment they heard it.''
''Ergo, they're lying.''
''It would seem that way, Jack.''
''So, Jean, this is your area of expertise. What can we do?''
''We must immediately make clear that there is no way any Leocardian ship would come under attack without our knowledge, thus preventing the undermining of our reputation as peacekeepers. Furthermore, we should seriously warn the Leocardian government that their behaviour will not be tolerated.''
''Good, you go out to the jackals ther eand tell them.''
''Me, sir?''
''You are minister of intelligence and foreign affairs, Jean. Meanwhile, Jack, is there any way we could properly motivate the Leocardians...''
''We could have the Centaur fire its guns close to their coast, though it would be hard to come up with a legitimate reason for doing so. What we could do is to send a couple of bomber wings along with the air force detachments already on their way.''
''You have anything specific in mind?''
''No, not really. The 48th Strategic and the 20th Tactical Bombing Wings are closest however, and there really isn't anything more intimidating than a strategic bomber. Well, short of a battleship that is.''
''Indeed. When can they arrive in Leocardia?''
''In a few days really. I'll have the ground forces seize some large enough air bases to support them.''
''Splendid.''

Official Statement
The Government of Blackwood is shocked and stunned by the latest development. Blackwood forces monitor the coasts of Lecoardia twenty-four hours a day, and closely observes all submarines in the region. We see no possible way that a ship could be attacked without our direct knowledge and, even if it somehow was, our forces in the area would have picked up the distress signal. Further, even if we somehow failed to intercept the signal, I can see no reason that the Leocardianofficials would fail to give us this information.
Until proven correct, we will consider these reports to be nothing but lies and and an attempt to stir up war in this unfortunate crisis. The Leocardian government would do well to remember that we have no qualms about forcefully stopping the Leocardian government if we think it would be for the better of all involved. Warmongering will not be tolerated, not by any side and not unde rany circumstances.''

Threaten us with your Hood Class SD? I laugh. Leocardia's Juki SD, released during the same time when the Hood SD was released, is designed to overwhelm the Hood SD's power with it's power hypersonic "rage" stragety, which will result in significiant damages. We have tested that as a fact when it took on with the Pythogrian Navy, which had 3 Hood SDs. If the Juki SD isn't enough, then our newly released King SD, featuring a 115 knots maximum powerplant, and capabilities of overwhelming the Hood SD in everyway.

Enough said.

By the way, good luck with 115 knots. Your powerplant will stretch the length of the ship and you won't have any guns or missiles, or wait, armour. It's quite clear you, like Hataria, know the bare minimum for ship design and as such like to challenge me, who does know about 1000x more than you do. Again, refrain from doing this in future. It really does make you look bad.

As for Shazbotdom, it is the fact that Leocardia believes in the use of nuclear weapons that we are worried about, having a nuclear capable force within range will act as a powerful detterent and may also provide some rapid protection against any missiles fired. However we also meant that the navy as a whole would be improved and increased in size and strength.

Put bluntly- We shall do as we please.

Reguards, President Roberts.

IC: On the high seas nearing Leocardia Admiral Nirwitz paced up and down the poop deck of HNS Oceans Might, the mighty Hood class heavily armoured battleship, and pondered upon his life in the Navy. He had just been flown back onto Oceans Might after the short stunt aimed at the aggressors in the CA attacking New Ausha and had enjoyed his leave with his family, as he was prepared not to have one for some time if things did not get any brighter in Leocardia.

He had the same ships in the fleet as when they had neared Leocardia, but he hoped they would be slightly beefed up in the near future, a couple more Heavy escort Groups would make him sleep better, although it was comforting to have a Submarine flottila already in possition who knew the area. They had been using a continuous circular system with around 30 submarines in the area at all times and stayed for a month or two before returning to H2 for leave and a few minor repairs before doing the same duties. Now however they would be boosted to 50Subs there at all times and would be reinforced by another Submarine Flottila.

OOC: Listing of the Oceans Might Fleet:

4x Heavy Escort Groups-

Hornby-class CVLN
Princess-class CBGN
Castle-class CAGN
6 × Wallace-class DDG (GP)
2 × Nowotny-class SSN
8 × Bullfinch-class FFH
1x Smith-class multirole replenishment ship (AOE)

And then the main component of the HNS Oceans Might Escort Flottila...

2x King Henry V-class BBGN
2x Union-class heavy aircraft carrier (CVBN)
2x Castle-class CAGN
1x Princess-class CBGN
2x Morrigan-class CGN
12x Nowotny-class SSN
4x Haenulf-class SSK
8x Wallace-class DDG (GP)
8x County-class DDG (AD)
8x City-class DDG (AS)
3x Guinness-class multirole replenishment ship (AOEN)
32x Bullfinch-class FFH
4x Aylesburgh-class submarine tender (AS)
3x Smith-class multirole replenishment ship (AOE)

Relative Liberty would be foolish to defend such a pitiful nation such as Leocardia, if they are going to threaten to destroy our ships, which is very much what we feel they are trying to say, in much the same way as they have done previously, using nuclear weapons, we will not hesitate to destroy any who are in our way to defend our nations sovereignity and to defend our citizens to keep them safe and secure, as well as securing the world to be a better and safer place for all nations to work together in.

We highly doubt through that any force will be necessary as we do not expect any trouble from any party.Private message to the government of Hotdogs2:
We do not intend to sink any of your ships, but we will try and stop them from violating Leocardian territorial waters. We are trying to preserve peace and through diplomatic means reduce the chance of nuclear deployment, and we feel that Leocardia might be less favourable to a proposition of nuclear disarmament if they felt threatened by a large fleet of foreign warships.
That is why we require you to send a diplomat for negotiations on the RN Jove.

Private communique to the government of Leocardia:
We do not appreciate your threats of nuclear or conventional weaponry, and neither Questers nor Hotdogs2 are impressed with your naval capabilities. We are trying to establish possibilities fro a peaceful resolution of this conflict, and we feel it might be easier to reach a negotiated settlement if Leocardia withdrew all their threats.
We also ask you to send a diplomat to the RN Jove for peace talks. If necessary, we can provide a suitable helicopter an aerial escorts.

Private Military Statement to Relative Liberty

We have withdrawn all our threats. What threat are we posing? We have recently begun our nuclear disarm project and is currently recycling our nuclear weapons into usable nuclear energy for civilian use. Our ships cannot be docked, with a threat of foreign warships from entering our waters. We cannot retract our airforce with such a large amount of foreign warships aiming for Leocardia. We cannot retract our military forces in the shores of Leocardia, if we are seemingly going to be attacked by foreigners. If you understand, we are in a tight position and our military presence cannot withdraw until these threats are gone. We have issued a 'Civilian Safety' Project, and under the policies, we cannot retract.

Private reply to Relative Liberty:

Hotdogs2 will be glad to send a delegate to such a meeting on your ship, RN Jove. We require futher intelligence on the said ship, what type is it? We ask because we could either fly a delegate in from Hotdogs2 or have a more local military delegate make an apperance if flying is not the best option (we do not like having to fly a transport aircraft carrying a VIP Helicopter to fly to destroyers etc).

However as you will know the HNS Oceans Might will soon be in the region and the Commanding Officer of said ship will quite possibly be in attendance, or at least put imput through the delegate.

Private communique to Leocardia:
We want an assurance that threats of retaliation, like that those was made about Leocardia's naval resources, will cease.
We have aerial assets in the area which can protect Leocardian airspace against intrusions, and we can send reinforcements should they be needed. Your own aerial activity can be kept to a symbolic minimum.
Furthermore, we do require that you send a diplomat to the RN Jove to participate in negotiations with Hotdogs2.

We feel that if you comply to these demands, your nation will have far greater chances of survinving this conflict unharmed.

Private communique to Hotdogs2:
We are happy to note that Hotdogs2 is willing to ease tensions in the region by enganging in negotiations.
The RN Jove is what is commonly known as a superdreadnought, a Main Battle Ship in the Republican Navy, and is well equipped to receive helicopters. It is currently stationed south-west of Leocardia, on international waters.

With reguards to sending a delegate Captain Richards will be in attendance with small escort, which of course shall hand over their weapons(they will be checked before and afterwards to ensure they were not tampered with). In total that is only 7 Personell. They shall come on board via a powered inflatable until a further time when the HNS Oceans might and escorts arrive, wence we shall see about adding another delegate, or possibly flying a civillian in through our aircraft carriers.

We thankyou for your kind offer, we hope we shan't disappoint.

We will cease all threats if your navy will patrol our waters, then we will dock our navy in their bases. We will keep our Leocardian National Guard to maintain inspections on the shores of Leocardia's beaches. Our airforce will be at their minimum. Though, it is required, by Leocardian Military Defence Pledge, to have a aerial patrol daily at each region of Leocardia. There are 4 regions, and we must patrol the perimeters with a maximum of 2 fighter jets per region. The patrol will last only 2 hours, from 3 AM to 5 AM. It's our lowest military act we can sustain.

Does this meet the needs that you request?

It was eight o'clock PM. The sun set, its rays of burning gold colouring the sky crimson and turning the calm gray water into a sea of molten brass. Overhead, far from the shore, flew a lonesome seagull. The Jove, the majestic avatar of Blackwood, clad in armour worthy of the ancient heroes of Achilles and Ajax, and weapons as legendary as if they were forged of the gods themselves; lay silent, rolling easily upon the waves. Only the occasional sound of a seaman hurrying from one place to another on the super dreadnought that disturbed the peace, before the shroud of tranquility once again fell over the mighty vessel. And then A turret began to stir. With a mighty roar of gears and the howling of metal, the turret swiveled to portside, it three guns pointed at the sun as it sank below the horizon. BOOOM! The ear shattering sound of a twenty-seven inch round being fired from one of the barrels was repeated once, BOOOM!, and twice, BOOOM!, until finally the guest had been greeted. For there was a guest, a Captain Richards from Hotdogs2, formerly of that nation's marine corps. Jove's own marines had been assembled and where now standing at attention to greet the Captain, together with most of the ship's crew.

Vice Admiral Mark Armstrong was clad in a immaculate white admiral's uniform, as could be expected, with the two golden stripes and the silver star that pertained to his rank. He had recently shaved and showered, and he hoped his aftershave didn't smell to badly. It would hardly affect the outcome of the meeting, but it would be best if he made a good first impression. In a moment of weakness he brought his right hadn up and began rubbing his temple, something he often did when he was nervous. Angrily, he brought his hand down again. He had tried to quit doing that, he considered it rather bad form, but to no avail.
To his left, slightly behind him, was a diplomat, flown in by a long range jet from Blackwood. He was an inch or two shorter than Armstrong and a few years older, but they did use the same brand of spectacles. That had been one of the reasons Mark had chosen to use contact lenses today, a fact his subordinates couldn't help but make fun of. The diplomat, his name was Kelly Johnson, though Mark almost had made a point about never remembering it, had caused trouble ever since he came aboard. After Kelly's plane had landed, Corporal Anderson had ordered four marines to escort him ot hte civilian quarters. The civilian quarters as they were called, were far more luxurious than anything the crew ever lived in, execpt perhaps Mark's private quarters, but Kelly had, as he told Armstorng later, found Anderson's stress of the word civilian to be condescending. He had informed Anderson that, as a man of honour, he could not stand being insulted in such a way. Anderson was dumbfounded, which only seemed to fuel Kelly's anger. Kelly apparently warned Anderson that he had been school champion in boxing while studying civil law in Oxford, and, upon finding that Anderson was still too shocked to come up with any response other than staring at him, had attempted to hit him with what Kelly described as an ''uppahcat''. The result had been that Anderson, acting on instinct and training, had knocked him unconscious with a single blow. As Kelly was a dipomat and Anderson a mere soldier, Anderson was now incarcerated and Kelly was standing on deck, prepared to mmet with Captain Richards.

Just as Mark had finished cursing Kelly in four different languages, with some Russian thrown in for good measure, Captain Richards set foot aboard. A section of marines, of which Anderson was supposed to be a member, fired the appropriate number of shots, and Mark saluted his foreign colleague, stepping forward to shake hands once the salute was returned.
''Welcome aboard the Republican Navy's Main Battle Ship Jove, Captain. I hope you will enjoy your stay. This,'' he motioned to Kelly, ''is Kelly Johnson of the Department of Foreign Affairs. He will assist in the peace talks. But you must be tired, let me show you the way to the civilian quarters!''

Captain Richards looked around him. He was standing onboard a rather large and menacing Capital Ship and was rather impressed by it. Having left the Marine Corp for the Submarine Corp he had never been on anything bigger than submarines as he had operated from them as a member of the Marines Special Offence Force (MSOF). He smiled as a salute was fired by some of the ships company, who he quickly realised were well trained marines wearing immaculate uniform. Or immaculate he thought, until he saw Vice Admiral Armstrong. He stood tall and proud. He threw up a salute in true Hotdogs Fashion with a quick twist of the hand as he brought it back down.

"Good evening Sir! I'm glad i could make it so quickly. Unfortunatly our luggage will be brought along shortly, we didn't want to impede on our speed. My accompaning marines will hand over their weapons shortly, feel free to have them checked for any concealed weapons, and if they have any i'll personnaly smack them, firstly for disobeing orders, and secondly for being stupid enough to have them discovered!" The capatain laughed briefly at his own joke as the Admiral led the way towards the Civillian Cabins. Luxury was not something he was likely to turn down!

He noticed also the blue and green bruise on Johnson's face. He was sure he wasn't anything special other than a politician, anyone with a brain would have run before picking a fight with someone capable of such a blow. All in all it seemed he would be living in comfort for as long as possible, hopefully get a good deal and a promotion to top it off, and possibly even a promotion or job in the foreign affairs department. It would be nice to stop submarining some time soon, it got ever so boring sometimes!

Mark smiled at the Captain's remark, and lead the way to the civilian quarters. They weren't far from there, as the cheif designer of the vessel had though it rude to force visiting dignitaries to walk all the way across the ship. On the other hand, they were probably more exposed to enemy gun fire than those of other navies' ships; not that that would be a problem, but mahogany tables were expensive to repair.
''I'll have Lieutenant Masterson see to it that your luggage is taken to your quarters once that is has arrived, captian,'' he assured Richards as they left. Masterson was currently busy commanding the receivement the weapons of Richards' accompanying marines and the search for hidden weapons, but that surely wouldn't take too long.
Five marines of the same detachment that had fired the salute when Richards came aboard, accompanied them to the civilian quarters. They would guard the captain until and his now disarmed marines during their stay here. They were Lieutenant Carl Goldstein, Chief Petty Officer Arnold Danielsen and Able Seamen Clarkson, Fitzgerald and O'Hanlan, a good example of the ethnical diveristy of the Jove, though that was not the reason they had been selected. No, they were all very good sailors, and Mark had often heard his subordinates talk most favourably about them. Not that he knew every man of the thousand strong crew, but he had a good sense of whom to trust with important missions, and Mark used his ability to the fullest when it came to selecting bodyguards for visitors.
''Here it is, captain!'' he said when they reached their destination. The door looked like all the others onboard, perhaps a bit larger though it was difficult to judge precisely. Though when Mark opened it, the room looked like it was taken straight from Royal Palace Hotel in Blackwood and not one of the navy's steel grey vessels of war. The first room was a large living room, with a pool table in polished mahogny, a small sculpture of ebony in the corner and a large flatscreen telly hanging on the farthest wall. There were four doors, each one leading to a smaller bedroom.
''The rooms on the right belong to you and your companions, captain; those on the left are for the Leocardian delegate, whenever he arrives. Lieutenant Goldstein and his men will stay here and act as your bodyguards for the duration of your stay here,'' Mark said.

OOC @ Leo: Please RP the arrival of Hardwood.

OOC: 7 people will be in attendance from H2, :P, 2 rooms isn't much lol. For now i'll say there are only four people although with the luguage 3more will join them if thats ok? Two will be political delegates, 1 another marine. I'll RP more once Leocardia posts and can i take it the delegates shall be having dinner with the captain or something?

"Let's hope they aren't needed Admiral! Haha, although with the leocardians there you never know, i've never meet any." With that he said goodbye although they would meet later he was sure and he entered his room.

He quickly scanned the room for any obvious hazards or spying equipment. He noticed also the plud sockets and the mirrors around where spying equipment could be located. He would have to get it checked out later once Marine Ferguen had arrived from the short weapons check that would take place. He smiled to himself, he hadn't been searched and in his uniform he had several items hidden away which he could use to communicate securely with his superiors to equipment designed to scan for spying equipment and the like.

The captain soon moved to his bed and sat down, it was certainly more comfortable than on the submarines he had served on! He was looking foward to his stay, that was for sure...

IC:
''Negotiations will commence the day after tomorrow, captain,'' said Mark, ''although I would appreciate if you would dine with me tomorrow.''
It had been a while since had talked to a foreign officer, and Blackwood news and intelligence agencies were ofte heavily biased, as he had found out during an international field maneuver. If nothing else, it would provide an excellent opportunity to get to know the captain better before negotiations started.

OOC: Thats fine by me, i was planning on that anyway, a marine in with each delegate

IC:

"Thats excellent Admiral, but please, call me Richards, unfortunatly im still on duty so can't be too informal though, im sure you understand! Will it be fine if i ask our security on board about eating times and so on? I suppose you have a 24/7 mess on board, although of course i'll only use it if im allowed."

The remaining Marines now came round the corner. Marine Ferguen was the first around the corner and he smartly saulted the admiral and his captain. With a quick repply he addressed the captain quickly stating that they had been checked and that the lugage was expected within the next twenty minutes. The marines then made themselves at home, splitting up into their seperate rooms and looking with awe and amazement at the luxurious surroundings. They had never had such expensive quarters in their lives, all having joined the marines at the lowest possibly rank and not having been brought up in a rich family. Just like Captain Richards, this would be a great stay, except for them there would be even less work to do!

''I dine at eight thirty PM. I'll have Lieutenant Masterson escort you to my quarters.''
With that, Mark left the room, leaving behind the five marines.

The Leocardian Delegate finally arrived, later than it was planned. Delegate Hardwood came late to the RN Jove. Though he was late, he looked pleased and appreciated with the new bonding between the two aggressive nations. Hardwood was a peace activist, who had been trying to become Leocardia's delegate for years, and he finally achieved his goal.

A radio message was sent to RN Jove:

Leocardian Apaches heading toward RN Jove. Please be prepared. Leocardia.

Minutes later, 3 Apache Helicopters arrived, awaiting a transport helicopter to arrive seconds later, the transporter landed on the decks of the RN Jove and a bulky man, standing tall at 6 feet, jogged out from the door. It was the delegate.
