The Joint Advanced Individual Combat Assault Weapon – Designed by the best minds in MierTech and at Hotdogs2’s Military Research Department, it is capable of taking any terrain, and allowing the soldier to rule the battlefield. Fitted with a modular 2-10x optical zoom or IR night sight, laser marker, High powered flashlight, and a MMBRI sight it can detect almost any enemy at any range that would be useful. Its intuitive design lets the soldier get the best out of the rifle and makes a real difference in combat situations, as well as being very powerful.

Modular Design
The modular design is designed to allow the addition or removal of the ML-21 30mm Grenade Launcher. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11614562&postcount=2) The grenade launcher is attached underneath the MTW-07 and fires a wide selection of ammunition. It eliminates the need for extra mortars or even shotguns within a squad, leading to higher survival chances as there are more rifles available in the squad. And when the ML-21 costs adds only $400 onto the price, its well worth purchasing.

Not only does the MTW-07 allow the addition of the ML-21 but it also is extremely easy to clean in any condition, and can have its barrel changed within two minutes by a soldier in the field under combat situations should this be necessary. This leads to a smaller chance of misfires, and the average rifle is 20% better than the XM-8 when it comes to jams or misfires.

The modular design also allows for the adaption of different nations sighting equipment and makes it possible to attach different sized grenade launchers etc if a nation so finds it necessary. It also means that if several rifles were damaged, by taking the working components from each a new, working rifle could be fielded if necessary. It also makes the replacement of parts extremely quick and easy on the field.

Advanced Rifle Systems and Ammunition
The MTW-07 was primarily designed for the user, by the user. Therefore, having received requests for improvements to standard ammunition and rounds it was decided to produce a 5.52mm round, of varying weights according to the round type. The type of round was to be caseless to reduce weight, and the propellant charge would be formed into a cuboid which would reduce wasted space and also allow for an increase in propellant. This resulted in an increased muzzle velocity over conventional Cased Ammunition and also weighs less, allowing more rounds to be carried by an infantry man, and more rounds to be loaded into a regular magazine.

There is also the option on the weapon to turn on an automatic Magazine ejector, which once the bolt is held back(after all rounds have been fired, or there is a very funny jam) the magazine falls to the ground. However this is not always practical and to prevent it being easily and mistakenly changed it requires using a small cleaning tool to change it.

BR-73 Ball round
The BR-73 round is named after its weight of 73 Grains. The actual round is a high pressure, high velocity, long range round designed for general purpose use. Due to the caliber of the weapon the usual 77grain round which was thought to be the best round weight for the slightly larger NATO caliber(5.56mm) ball rounds was found to be slightly too large for the caliber size and reduced range slightly. Therefore it was decided that the new round would weight slightly less, and be slightly more likely to yaw when hitting a target, meaning it tumbles causing large internal damage and also fragmenting, leaving several pieces of the rounds tip inside that soldier, meaning if they survive it would take a costly operation to extract the shards.

BR-220 Armour Piercing round
This round is a simple but effective AP round. It has a DU tipped tungsten penetrator covered with a cupro-nickel jacket which is destroyed upon impact. The DU tip is self sharpening and is pyrophoric (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrophoric) upon impact, increasing the heat and energy focused upon that one small part of the armour, which gives it an incredible penetration range.

BR-221 Advanced Exploding Armour Piercing round
(illegal in RL under UN law and possibly for NS UN nations)
The BR-221 is an unconventional AP round which was designed for the new rifle and also to penetrate the best body armour currently available. The core of the round is made of a Depleted Uranium Tip with hollow tungsten forming the rest of the round. Due to the DU tip the round weighs the same as a normal armour Piercing round, however, in the hollow of the round the same explosive used to propel the round is stored, which, when the DU penetrator contacts the armour, becomes heated and therefore explodes, which occurs soon after the round enters the body. It therefore causes huge damage to the soldier and leads to internal bleeding or destruction of internal organs.

BR-114 Improved Tracer round
The BR-112 is quite simply a round without a steel penetrator and a hollow base, which is filled with pyrotechnic flare material, in this case a mixture of strontium salts and magnesium perchlorate (as used by NATO) giving off a bright red light. It is innovative in the way it has a rear grill on the bullet, cutting the observable angle so only the firer and its allied troops can see it. The grill then burns up at around 60m leaving a trail of a few feet behind the bullet like a normal Tracer round which makes it visible to all troops. This way it does not overwhelm night vision equipment and hides the firer’s position.

BR-115 Dim Tracer round
This round has a much dimmer light from the burning of the pyrotechnic flare material, which is clearly visible from Night-Vision equipment. Again the round leaves a trail after the bullet from a distance of at least 60meters and becomes slightly brighter so that it can be clearly seen from night vision at extended ranges.

BRX-141 Night vision Overwhelming round
The BRX-141 is the first round of its type, and is put simply a tracer round. However its purpose is to defeat enemy troops wearing night vision equipment, and it does so by only igniting at 200m. It is possible to have the round ignite at various distances but this range must be pre-determined at manufacture, depending on the predicted range of engagement. It is advised to be used at longer ranges and flares for 100m.

Variants
The MTW-07 comes in several variants, these being Short Carbine, Marksman and Light Support Weapon (LSW) and its variant, the Short LSW. Due to the modular design of the rifle it is normally easily possible to rapidly change from one version to another, although this of course requires the necessary parts to be readily available. The fact that all these weapons use many of the same components shortens supply chains and puts much less demand on logistics meaning your troops can be supplied much easier.

The Short Carbine Version has a shorter Barrel and an extending butt, which reduces its size and weight to just 47cm and 2.1kg, but with a short 20cm barrel. The short ML-21 Grenade launcher was designed for this version and comfortably fits under slung of the carbine, although it has a shorter range is accurate enough for MOUT operations. The carbine is less accurate but most dangerous in close quarters combat and also easily carried by medics or tankers and is designed to replace sub-machine guns therefore decreasing logistics demands. The weapon does not have an optical sight at all and relies on an iron sight and Laser marker for aiming, although all other sights can be added.

The Marksman Version has an extended 53cm barrel, increasing accuracy to longer ranges, and is designed to give accurate ranged fire at squad based level. However it is slightly heavier and its primary sight is slightly more complicated, which allows for wind direction and gives a trained marksman much greater accuracy. Although not a replacement for a dedicated Sniper it is a valuable weapon on the battlefield and allows for sharpshooting of the enemy at greater distances than otherwise possible. Its weight is 4.4kg and has a length of 102cm with an increased muzzle velocity giving it a longer effective range.

The Light Support Weapon again has a barrel length of 53cm, but is reinforced to take the higher rate of fire. It is designed to take a 135 round box or the normal 40round magazine, although a 250 round box with chain ammunition is also available. It has the same cyclic rate of fire but with an increased Sustained RoF of 100 and an increased muzzle velocity. It is supposed to give supporting fire to protect a squad whilst not being too large and also enables troops to be quickly trained on the weapon allowing all squad members to use it when necessary with very little extra training, which can be done in the field. Weight is again slightly higher at 5.7kg with its bipod and tools. Maximum effective range for an area target is 1200m. The Variant of the LSW is the Short LSW, which is only 77cm long but has a Maximum effective range for an area target of 1000m with a weight of only 5kg and is designed for increased maneuverability for MOUT and Air assaults.

ML-21 Advanced Light Weight Grenade Launcher

The ML-21 Grenade Launcher is designed to weigh as little possible and when attached to the MTW-07 it can be fired using the single trigger of the rifle. The Grenade launcher has several uses, and with its different munitions can be used as a Shotgun, anti-personnel weapon or light vehicle/bunker destroyer. It it a single shot weapon loaded from the right hand side, where the cartridge is rejected once fired.

The ML-21 also introduces the new SH-34 advanced incendiary grenade. Its purpose is to fulfill the roles of Flame Throwers and therefore provide a viable alternative to room clearance, Bunker destruction(firing straight into a bunker through an aperture will cause massive damage to the crew but no damage to the structure). The grenade is a standard 30mm cartridge filled napalm, but is slightly longer than the other Cartridges. Once fired it bursts into flame upon impact and have a safe minimum distance of 15meters. The Airburst version Detonates 1-1.5meters above the ground and has a minimum distance of 35meters as it detonates with a flame ranging from 5meters to 10meters, which is variable by the operator.

Variants
The ML-21 has only 1 variant, this being the ML-21B, which is a shortened version designed for use in Close Quarters combat primarily from the MTW-07 Short Carbine. Its range is reduced to 70meters for a point target but is still highly capable and fires all ammunition types as well as being lighter.

OOC: TY, i noticed it yesterday but jolt forums can be a real pain and be super slow(used to happen on the old NS servers, now on here :( )

BUMP and anyone have any comments?

BTW- added something about only selling to allies, and if we get lots of interest im thinking maybe an export version? Thats if it gets interest though, seeing as if it doesn't its not worth it :P

OOC: Yeah, well I've set this as S9 only in MierTech, so maybe a cutdown, carbine only version for export or something. Oh well, lets hope there is some interest soon. Hint hint.
