Reclamation(EV)

It had started with the lost dream of the Prime Minister of India, one Graj Anubark. India was in the midst of a great change. The economy was growing ever stronger. Funds were drastically increasing in every department, and the Indian people were once again united under a common goal.

But things were not yet complete. Territories that had lost there way were not unified under the Indian flag. The ‘nations’ known as Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh were lost, and still not willing to unite. The India-Pakistani war of 1971 made much headway in the reclamation of Pakistan, with India retaking half of Pakistan, but once again things took to a screeching halt. But things were finally perfect to retake everything, all at once.

Forces had already begun to mobilize on the border with Pakistan. Air strikes and long range missile strikes were due to begin any day now on Pakistani installations and commerce centers. Strike craft based out of Amritsar, and Sea Harriers from the INS Viraat would begin striking multiple targets in a single volley, in an attempt to strike fear and demoralize the enemy before the first soldier even set foot into Pakistan.

Mechanized infantry, armored divisions of T-72’s and T-90’s would be ordered to move directly into the cities of Sukkur, Multan and Lahore. Constant air strikes, and artillery barrages would cover them. While the mechanized rushed in to take key cities, infantry would spearhead the enemy forces directly, with reserved armored divisions for heavy support.

Meanwhile, marines from the Viraat strike group would make landings at the coastal city of Karachi, with constant battery from the destroyers off the shore.

Finally, the last part to the phase one assault, multiple rail road lines would be hit. Quetta-Jacobabad rail line, the Hyderabad-Sukkur line would be nailed, Quetta-Zhob line and finally the Multan-Kasur line would be destroyed.

It was to be a glorious first assault, analysts, and Generals were assured the invasion would only take a month at the most, even less. But only time would tell.

OOC: Not going to be a gigantic post because I basically outlined my IC plans in the previous post.

The air strikes began at 3 AM local time, in the dead of night. Pakistan knew the jets were coming, but they couldn’t alert the targets quick enough, for they had no idea that the railroads were being targeted. All of the targeted lines were taken without a single loss, however there were a few close calls with AA fire, but nothing unmanageable.

At 5 AM local time, the first sections of mechanized infantry, and armored divisions began to move in. The Indian infantry, who would engage any opposing force, while the mechanized steamed ahead to take the targeted towns, supported them.

They were indeed met with heavy resistance. There was intense, and extreme fighting outside the cities of Sukkur and Multan. But the plan was stuck out, the infantry with armored, and artillery back up fought, while the mechanized moved in, and captured the lightly defended towns. After taking the towns, the armored divisions swung back around, and aided the fighting infantry, while the mechanized remained in the towns, keeping their positions.

Things were not heading to plan however in the marine front. The 2000 marines were unable to take the coastal town of Karachi, even with constant bombardment from the destroyers, and the air wings from the Viraat.

All in all, the first morning of the fighting went well, besides a few snags. Changes would have to be made however. The coastal town would have to wait their town from the land forces. The naval would simply pound other targets elsewhere.

For now, the commands plotted their next moves.

It didn’t take long for the province of Sundh to fall to the Indian forces. So far, it was the easiest portions of the war. Besides the two large battles the impeded the initial invasion force, the province was entirely void of military forces.

After the failure of capturing the coastal town of Karachi, the Indian navy abandoned the movement, and they set out further west to start assaulting the coastal town of Pasni.

All it took was the forces in Sukkur to move south, fight a pitiful battle with forces at Hyberabad, then swinging south west and taking the town of Karachi by land. The assault was deemed “easy” as well, due to the forces in town having most of their big gains aimed out at sea, with them being too slow in maneuvering the guns around.

The word ‘easy’ couldn’t very well be said in the province of Punjab. After the initial fighting in Lahore and Multan, it only got harder. It had seemed the Pakistani military had concentrated most of their defensive forces in the areas outside of Islamabad, and in the city. It was some of the heaviest fighting in the conflict.

Forces out of Lahore were only moving at a snails pace towards Gujranwala. The forces out of Multan were attempting to follow the rail lines to Sargodha, however they to were being met with heavy resistance. About 150 miles outside of Sargodha, the assault came to a complete stop. The Pakistani military was indeed formidable.

It was finally agreed that the infantry and armored divisions being held in reserve were to be called to the front. The plan was to send them in a straight march to the river town of Dera Ghazi Khan. Resistance was said to be light the entire way to the town. From there, they would follow the river north, taking Dera Ismaj Khan, then move inland and taking Tank, Bannu, Thal, and Kohat. From there, they would move in directly on Islambad. This would create a very deadly three-pronged attack. It would take weeks, possibly months to execute, but it would be done eventually.

It didn't take long for the gathered Sistani armies to cross the border and link up with Pakistan's XXI corps and reserve forces. Together, they moved towards the capital, linking up with other Pakistani units as well. In the Arabian Sea, the deployed Sistani carriers acted as waypoints for land-based naval jets to launch strikes on the Indian forces. In the air over Pakistan, Sistani jets moved to aid the Pakistani forces against the Indian aggressors.

If the Indians thought they could assault the Islamic Republic and get away with it, they were in for a rude surprise.

OOC: Two armies (Twelfth and Thirteenth), with a total of 720 Zulfiqar MBTs and 360 Tosan light tanks. Plenty of artillery, especially rocket based, and constant sorties from the Sistani air force and navy aviation corps. They're linking up with and fighting along side the Pakistani forces.

Your incursion will be ignored under # reasons.
1. Write something longer than two paragraphs.
2. Rping some sort of force build up, or atleast saying it.
3. Not automatically assuming the Pakistani would connect with another foreigner, without any sort of diplomatic RP.
4. How can land aircraft land on carriers? They aren't built for it.
5. And aren't you fighting numerous other people/NPC's at the moment? I want to see some sort of deployment chart, before you think you can just start flinging troops around, without me noticing.

I can help with some of those reasons-

1. I agree
2. Again, I agree but then again it doesn't have to a massive page. A paragraph or two would do, IMO.
3. Those Pakistani are stuck between a rock in a hard place. If Sistan would agree to leave their nation intact and in peace, they may very well let his troops cross their borders to help support their war against you. On, the other land- just launching troops across the border is as I said going to put them in between a rock and hard place. They would probably retreat to the mountains and let you two just fight it out.
4. Um, same way they land on runways. That’s what a carrier is, a floating runway. The only difference between carrier aircraft and normal aircraft is that carrier aircraft have a few modifications. One- they have stronger landing gear to withstand the rougher landings. Two- they have hooks to both attached to the steam catapults to launch them and catch the arresting wires to slow them to a stop. Those are the main ones, other then that it’s the same aircraft. This link explains it better then I ever could http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/ship/cv-design.htm
5. Ask and you shall receive- here is Sistan’s order of battle and who he is attacking with what armies. http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11607101&postcount=27

Well, you just pointed out yourself why land craft and land on a carrier. Not equipped for it, no catching rig, or catapult mount. Not to mention, land based pilots aren't trained to land on the constantly moving, tilting, and short runway of a carrier.

Be as it may. Sistan is still ignored from an MSN convo with him.

Greetings bretheren.

It appears that you have entered into a conflict with our dire enemy Sistan. His forces are currently fighting on all sides of his borders against Vineyardian battlegroups, ALM, Kopparsberg, Arabica, and granate, so know this: You have no shortage of allies in this conflict.

As such, we currently have the Battle-hardened 1st battlegroup on standby. Although they are our strategic reserve, we are more than willing to send the Croatian Battlegroup to your front to aid you in your noble endevor.

The incursion was noticed immediately, from prevailing recon flights, and strike missions taking place from the INS Viraat. It had seemed that the Iranians were not kidding, and had launched a seemingly impossible strike. It was indeed unexpected from command, knowing full well that many of their other forces were fighting other conflicts. There was a thin line between tenacity, and a death sentence.

Right off the bat, strike missions from the INS Viraat were immediately redirected to start downing Iranian fighter planes. The three advanced missile destroyers in the strike fleet began launching their own arsenal at enemy ground troops. All the while, they began to make their retreat to a reasonable position, from where the fighters from the Viraat, and the fighters from ground based operations in India, would be more closely knit, allowing greater bombing and interception squadrons to be made.

All the while, the 5th Corp that had recently taken command of the town Surab, began to dig into the town, readying themselves for an assault. They had a large bulk of stationary artillery already, as did all Indian infantry divisions, and they began to set them up inside the town, readying for the assault. It was about 420 pieces being set up.

They would be able to hold out against the invading army until the reinforcements arrived. The meager Pakistani forces they picked up would be of little help.

With the alert of hostile forces incoming, the assault on the towns of Gujran, Sargodha, and Tank were stopped, and only defensive forces were left to make sure no land was lost. Quickly, the 12th, 6th, and 10th Corp was scrambled to reinforce the town of Bela. They were made up of mechanized infantry, and armored divisions, so they could be made to move in as quickly as possible to reinforce.

Meanwhile, in New Delhi, word had also reached them of the incursion. Immediately, three more Corp was sent to help out, but it would be a while to reach them. They weren’t meant to be reserve forces, and weren’t even ready to move out, for the most part.

Inside the offices of New Delhi, calm, leisurely calls were being made to their new allies to the north. They politely asked for military assistance in the region of Pakistan. They even asked if they could open a new front in the war with the Iranians, in order to take the heat off.

Lastly, a reply was sent to the kind new “ally”.

To: Regent Windsor

We would gladly accept your offer of a naval battle group to intervene on our side. We could certainly use the aid. Our forces are mighty, but at the time, ill prepared to fight off such a belligerent enemy. We will await further word.

-Imperial Palace, Zagreb-

Regent Windsor sat in his desk's dark leather chair. The scene around him was one in which the Lords of the line of Vineyard typically conducted buisness. Behind the desk was an open, roaring fire, and the walls were made of red-oak. On either side of the Regent were two massive bookcases, enshrined into which was they Imperial Book Collection. At either corner behind windsor there were 2 white-gloved bodyguards, who stood motionless, and completly silent.

The two massive oaken doors enclosing the room swung open. General Orso Nazario Ilario, the Commanding general of all Ground forces in the Empire stormed in. He slammed down a piece of parchment.

'And how exactly am I to get them to INDIA! Did you know that the seas are INEXCESSABLE!? Sistan has that entire area under the scrutiny of his navy!"

"Oh, I forgot to mention that to you didn't I..." Regent Windsor said, picking up the piece of parchment, his eyes darting over it quickly. It was the reply from Azaha, only it said it was accepting a naval battlegroup.

"Do you know whom I had to find out about this from?" The general sneered "My DAUGHTER! She is 9! A 9 year old knew my orders before I did!"

"Well then perhaps you should keep her from your mail."

"My Mai..." The general stopped. "You sent me top-secret orders through the conventional mail system!?"

'Ya-huh."

"...Ok. Anyhow, Azaha seems to think we are sending the navy. When, in fact, we are sending the 1st battlegroup, which comprises of the 1st, 2ed, and 3ed Infantry along with the 4th Armored..."

Regent Windsor looked up, clearly irked. "Do you take me for a fool!?"

"No sir..."

"Good. Now, this is our plan to getting them over there...."

Azaha,

Remember Warta Endor's message, "Pakistan has nukes!."

India invading Pakistan isn't going to be easy. Pakistan (RL and on Earth V, since Pakistan was not marked in red) has a huge population, a large military, nuclear weapons, and a hatred of India. Combine them together, and India gets a nearly impossible war to win, especially due to Pakistan's trigger-happy status (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/cms.dll/articleshow?art_id=10387267) with nuclear weapons.

You are going to need to either change posts to reflect this (particularly the nuclear weapons), or add the effects immediately to your next posts. Or simply end it.

They had done it. It was what the Indian command had feared, well, almost. The proverbial, hell, probably the literal hand was hovering over the big red button. The message had come early one morning. It was simple, but extremely powerful. It was even impersonal.

Leave Pakistan completely, withdraw all forces, and remove your navy from our shores. If you refuse to comply, you and me both know whom you’re telling it to. Who ever wins, we both lose.

It didn’t take long for the signals of retreat to be flown. It was to be an all forces retreat, a full withdrawal straight back into India.

The INS Viraat and her strike group began to move away from the shore before all her planes could even land, although they landed later, with a much-depleted fuel tank. Forces that were meant to hold Bela quickly evacuated. Infantry divisions were airlifted out by the transport-chopper full, the rest hitching rides with the mechanized and armor. They were the farthest out, and they needed the quickest route home.

Gujran, Sargodha, and Tank also immediately withdrew. They left without resistance from the Pakistani military, them fearing a reprisal, and a subsequent renewal of the Indian assault. However, that did not stop civilian freedom fighters from making their own raids on the Indian forces, as they retreated through the other towns. Several truck loads of soldiers were lost to roadside bombs alongside predictable escape routes. Even some tank commanders were shot from their positions on their tanks by rogue shooters. Some Indian companies took time to defend themselves, purge a block, and then move on. But as a whole, the Indian forces did not bother.

There was no mass media coverage, no international message. The Indian command, and politicians were silent. It was not a crushing defeat, or a defeat at all. Simply India fearing an attack on their own civilians, or that was the tiny bits of stories leaked to small time press.

Meanwhile in the Pakistan Ministry of Defence...

The Joint Chiefs of Staff were positively enraged. Many of them with wounds dating back to the 1971 war, they never thought India could hit so hard, so fast, with such accuracy.

It had been a strike of luck that there had been a nuclear silo drill that day, the opened doors had apparently scared the Indian command shitless, resulting in the rapid withdrawal of their troops.

"Tens of thousands dead, maybe hundreds of thousands. Many civilians. All for some jacko on a power trip's greed. This disgusts me... we should send a counter-attack as soon as possible!"

"No... we can't. If we attack them, they'll attack us, and we'll threaten nuclear action once more, and then so shall they. And then we'll all be radiation.''

''But we can't just sit here! They have insulted us and embarrased us, the might of the Pakistani forces has been ground to nothing. We might not be defeated in physical form, but our pride has been truly overcome."

''Quite. We should make sure we are at risk first though, yes? On behalf of the Air Force I request permission to send a recon survey over Indian territo-

The Air Force Lieutenant-General saw the muzzle flash just barely, the 7.62mm round exited the barrel of the Dragunov at a speed of just short of 850 metres a second, which meant a travelling time of two seconds from the window of the jeep parked at the driveway to the Chief of Staff (Naval Fleet)'s mansion. It made a particular mess as it entered his head just below his right nostril, penetrating the skin and bone quite easily and going 'crazy', a few centimetres inside the head, thanks to recent updates to the round to allow it quicker tissue destruction patterns.

He was dead within 4 seconds, just enough to see the windows in the room shatter as two flashbang grenades were thrown into it, almost instantly going off as the door was kicked in, followed by eight dark-skinned men in khaki with foldaway spetznaz-issue Kalashnikov's pouring through it and three-tapping the other three Chief's, along with the unlucky tea boy who went as pale as the moon when three bullets pierced his body, one in his kidney area, the next straight under his heart and the third through his neck. By the time he fell, and caused a sizeable 'thud', it was silence.

---

Around Pakistan at the Minister for Home Affairs residence, the primary political military advisors flat, and even the entire cabinets homes, similar situations were happening. Several units of khaki-uniformed troops with top-of-the-line Kalashnikov's, SVD's and Beretta .45's were in operation tonight, getting around by pretty old and yet well maintained ex-US Army jeeps, some of the ones that had been thrown out with all the hummer's entering service over the past decade or so.

By 2AM all of Pakistan's leadership had died or were dying from bullet wounds, all the same untraceable 7.62x54mm rounds, from any of the millions of shipments to any of the tens of countries over the past few decades.

Despite their best efforts however, some people had managed to get reports out, and were slowly creeping to the low-level regional press office's, and being sent up to the daily papers.

---

In Islamabad, the country was at a stand-still this morning. The finance offices didn't have any finance to deal with, the shops didnt have any customers to sell products to, the emergency services had no accidents to attend to... everyone, and by everyone I mean over three quarters of the cities population, were on the streets around the Prime-General's (as he was affectionately known) 'workplace.'

They were waiting for news that everyone could've guessed. Their leader, the General, had been murdered late last night.

The current highest ranking political or military officer had been away with his wife at a hotel in Kabul on diplomatic relations when the news reached him. Sadly, by mid-afternoon a bullet had also reached him, and not soon enough for Captain Amir Hussain, leader of the SSG teams that had lead the assault last night.

A short while later he had made his way into the two primary TV and Radio stations broadcasting rooms, ready to issue a statement. I'll save you the political mumbo-jumbo; during the current chaos in the country following the rapid invasion and even rapider retreat by the Indian military, the Special Service Group had learned of a plot by the now deceased leadership to launch a nuclear strike on India, which would end only in TND, Total Nuclear Destruction, of Pakistan and the surrounding areas. To prevent this the the SSG 'intervened', and now Captain Amir Hussain had assumed leadership of the country, shortly to be sworn in as prime political minister, and appropriately promoted to Lieutenant General, Chief of the Armed Forces. He also made clear his intention to 'merge' Afghanistan and Pakistan under a new flag and new name, intending to take the rogue nation under his wing to prove the new Pakistani leadership were capable of any political feat, aswell as military.
