1909 in Review:
Things have been very quiet on the Swedish stage and there was a little revolt at a textile mill near Gothenburg that turned into a very ugly situation where the Women left the mill and locked the gates of the mill and when the management tried to force them back to work. A riot eventually developed at the mill and was only stopped by police intervention after a couple of hours. The Labour Ministry was absolutely insenced(sp) by the actions of the factory owners and at the Royal Union of Women's Texile Workers for the mistakes of the strike.

The Final Parliamentary Session of 1911 ended in violence as one of the Lower House members was murdered by a member of an Imperialist faction that was Pro-German... The Parliament member was given a state funeral and the assassin was sent to the main National Reform House near Stockholm to await trial for Treason, Murder and Conspiracy among other charges. Every national flag in Sweden is now at half-staff yet again. The year to forget for Sweden is about to end with the Beginning of the Great War and the end to the innocent past...

1912 was a relative quiet year on the Swedish homefront excluding the Great War to the East of us and the predicted independence of Finland from the Russian Empire. The assassin behind the 1911 murder was sentenced to life without release. (Sweden has no death sentence at this time.)

The Kingdom is at Tech Level 5, but is not in the Airship business (Germany, USA, Britain are the main ones at this point to do airships...). We are more interested in planes as a possible tool, but then again Swedes have not yet seen too many aircraft yet...

We are clearly in the throws of one of the coldest Winters on Record especially in the Northern regions and Stockholm had reached its all-time lowest daytime and overnight temperatures on the Winter Solstice of 1915... The Kingdom of Sweden has joined the list of countries that now have universal sufferage for both men and women. The next national election in 1917 will be the first test of this new amendment to the Royal Constitution of 1906.

Prime Minister Rickard Sandler was elected over Niels Eden in a 1923 Landslide victory that changed both houses to a Social Democratic leadership yet most of Eden's cabinet was retained by Sandler's new administration. The Prime Minister promises to return Sweden to its rightful place as a power in Europe and not only in Scandinavia by retrofitting the military and making social reforms.
