ZAFT forces transports went roaring ashore the gates came down and soldier began moving onto the beach "Come on get a move on!" a soldier said to get his men moving quicker. The first wave assembled and lined up "Alright listen up all sides get 10 hours to take positions we will set up defences in the mountains and then push inland we are here to prove are power now move out" he said "YES SIR!" they gave out in a coordinated cheer before moving out as larger transports with the armor began moving in.

Air cushioned landig crafts pulled up to the beach, soldiers from the 32nd Highlander Regiment disembarking. This wasn't a live fire exercise, but they would give 100 per cent and then some.
Splitting up into fire teams of five soldiers they advanced towards the tree line to secure the landing zone. Move, cover, move, cover.
Off coast lay the RN Jove, providing fire support. Her 27'' guns could open fire on any enemy entrenchments, should such be encountered. They weren't expecting any resistance at this stage though, as air reconaissance had showed no enemy forces in the area.
Move, cover, move, cover. Zick-zacking behind dunes and large rocks, one fire team covering the other's advance, the soldiers finally made it to the tree line. The CV90s and the tanks had begun disembarking from heavier landing crafts, fanning out to provide direct fire support for the infantry. Overhead the attack choppers roared forward, spear headed by Kiowas and Little Birds. Flying just a few feet above the tree tops, they searched the woods for enemy bunkers and foxholes.
As the 32nd secured the beach perimeter, the special forces were already landing. Three regiments form the Light Infantry Corps, consisiting of light infantry, jungle warriors and mountaineers. They would assist the 32nd and provide specialist support in difficult terrain. Commanded by Colonel First Class Jean Anderson, Colonel Arthur Johnson and Colonel Arthur Jackson, they were subordinate Colonel First Class Jonathan Robertson and would perform in supportive roles in their specific terrain, allowing the 32nd to progress unhindered.

''Colonel Jackson, the 32nd have secured the area and the Light Infantry's deploying as we speak,'' Anderson reported. She was tall for a woman, almost as tall as Jackson, and younger than him too. Her long brown hair had been cut short in preparation for the exercise. She'd given no reason as to why, as the rules allowed her to have long hair, but she had always insisted on keeping everything uniform. She was dressed in the standard MARPAT BDU, her rank insignia showing her to be a Colonel of the First Class, same as him.
Jackson was different. Older, with his hair beginning to whiten on the sides of his head. He hadn't shaved for a while, and Anderson could barely help but frown when she noticed it. He had a thin scar running down his left cheek, ending just underneath his chin, and another one cutting through his right eyebrow. He was just as well dressed as she was, but gave an easier, more comfortable impression and still perhaps had some rebellious youth in him. That, and he spoke Scottish.
''Excellent, Colonel. If you will take a look at this map, please? We are here,'' he said, pointing at a section in the south-west corner of the island.
''The plan is to have our forces strike west here, towards the city there, and then arc north to cut off and capture the naval base here. Your forces will spearhead the assault on hte city, supported by my 32nd. Once the city is captured, the light infantry will arc up towards the naval base while the 32nd garrison the city. After that we will take some time to regroup and consolidate our gainings.''
''Yes, sir. I shall inform Colonel Johnson and Colonel Jackson at once, sir.''
''Good. Dismissed, Colonel.''

The 3rd Light Infantry Regiment began to move out, followed closely by the Light Infantry Corps' 19th Jungle Regiment and the 32nd Highlander Regiment. Last came the mountaineers, the LIC's 9th Regiment. Following small roads and trailes, they rolled towards the city in their CV90s and Leopard 2s. Scout helicopters had already been dispatched to acertain the location of enemy forces, if any, in the city. Black Hawk choppers were standing by to ferry groups of the 3rd wherever they were needed, and Apache Longbows were refueled to provide fire support. The Jove couldn't fire upon a population centre without intolerable collateral damage, so that, and their towed and slef propelled artillery pieces, were all the artillery support they would get. Jackson would have liked to bring some M110s and M107s, but High Command really didn't want to send those on this kind of exercise, not even involving divisional numbers. They would be far too clumsy and unmanouverable in this kind of terrain, they said.

"No, No, Move it over there with the other Artilery" A soldier said to the driver of a linear artilery vehicle. Artilery and Tanks were begining to arrive in on the beach. The weather was good at the moment but weather reports indicated that Rain was on the way so they had to get as much of the armor on the island ASAP. Advanced parties were being assembles to make way to the nearest supply base is the mountains.

+++On bridge of the Arcanus, the namesake of it's class, Rear-Admiral Upper Half Edward Sparte looked over what little he could see of his task force. It was hours before the excersize would start, so he was trying to get his group ready in these vital moments. The task force itself was made up of some 26 vessels, six of those almost entirely unarmed. Off to his port and starboard was one missile cruiser, his carrier's personal guards, sitting out at a half mile. In the distance he could see two of attack carriers, forward and diagonal of his own flagship, and each of those had their own escort of one frigate. Spread out over the sea, the hundred mile bubble of protection were other frigates and destroyers, with one cruiser in their midst, all no further out than 60 miles, most between twenty and fourty miles away. Seventy-five miles out, to the bow of the carrier, port, starboard, and stern were the four Brock attack submarines, acting as scouts and submarine killers. Nuclear powered, and running at thirteen knots as was the task force, they were almost completely silent, as was most of the task force. The group itself was two-hundred miles east-south-east. "Commander," he addressed the original CO of the Arcanus before he stepped aboard, "Make sure that the crews keep drilling. We don't want to work them sore, just work them until two hours prior. The only people I want on continous work until the games start are the aviation crews. They can take it; always have, always will. However, keep the Hawkeyes down until thirty minutes before everything hits. The subs need to start their silenced operations now." The group continued forth, mile by mile.
+++"Aye, aye, sir." And such things were delegated. Fire crews drilled, weapons operators fought against things that weren't even there, without actually firing any weapons. The 4696 Western Marisan Marines didn't do anything apart from smirk at the crews of the ships they were stationed on as they frantically moved about in mock situations. Most were stationed on whatever transport they'd be landing on, and amoungst them were Navy Corpsman, trained like Marines, but as Medics. Each of the Marines had full suits that regulated temperature and even covered their face. Western Maris had dabbled in Nano-technology, and it showed. The nanites in the suits made an effort to resemble the surroundings of their environment, so the normally black suits showed as a dark grey, as not everything could be mimicked, since the suits were still in their early phases. Instead of being armored like normal suits, these were equipped with electronic sensors, so when the enemy's laser designators hit them, they would go off, telling the soldier they were hit. However, if they were hit in a non-vital spot, a medic could apply a patch that would tell the mini-computer that the man was mostly healed. If that didn't happen, the computer might, at a later time, give the soldier a death-signal from death by virtual blood-loss. Their normal weaponry had small black boxes on heatshield the barrels, which would send out the IR that told the enemy they were "dead." It also would recognize a friendly and reduce friendly fire.

Captain Scott Finch stood in the door of the C-17 transport plane as it approached the DZ. Finch was the commander of the company of Sheridan tanks assigned to the 1st/1st Airmobile BCT. This was the last major use the Ocic Army would get out of the trusty old Sheridans as they already being replaced with brand new Hellcat light tanks.

As the light turned green Finch led his men out the door and towards the DZ were they would assemble and prepare their tanks for action.

Finch hit the ground with a thud moments after jumping. Within 15 minutes he had assembled his company and they moved through the thick underbrush to the equipment DZ.

Half an hour later the Sheridans were rumbling off the DZ and towards the link up point with 1st Battalion.

Two hours after the first troops jumped the bulk of the 1/1 BCT was on the ground. All 3 infantry battalions had linked up with their desiginated attachments and were advanced on their objectives.

1st and 2nd Battalion were moving to take the city and naval base on the island's southeastern corner. 3rd Battalion was moving north to take and hold the eastern supply base so that the brigade's artillery and helicopters could be flown in via C-17.

And thus, the Marisan forces sprung into a war-time state. Two Angel Squadrons and two Wraith Squadrons took off from the Arcanus, accompanied by their E-2C Hawkeye AWACs aircraft and a pair of EA-6B Intruders. The latter three let the entire fleet know what was going on all over the island unless trees got in the way, with their uplinking via satellite. The same three were the only ones that stayed above 30,000 feet, while the other fourty-eight fighters hit the deck, going down to fourty-feet AGL so that they'd be mixed up in the RADAR, unless the opposing forces used DOPPLAR Downlooking RADAR. The landing craft and attack carriers, with the addition of a few frigates moved within fifteen miles of the land. They'd still be impossible to see from the land. The fleet, operating south of the island, collected data about the area around them.

TF Hammer, built around the 1st Battalion, was advancing in standard formation along the roads and jungle approaching the supply base. Already the battalion's scout platoon had reached the base and established observation posts overwatching the airfield. The first unit to reach the objective would be Bravo Company along with 2nd Platoon, A Co/1-37th, an engineer platoon, and a couple of Stinger missle teams.

The advanced scout party started rolling through the jungle the bugs were bad so the soldiers hated that they were walking but the rest of the forces would have to put up with the same thing. the tree line started to thin out in the distance it was the supply base it (and all the others) have the forest pushed back 2km from the base.

The lead elements of Bravo Company linked up with the battalion scouts a few minutes before midnight. Once the rest of the battalion was in position they would move to secure the airfield and begin bringing in the brigade's heavy equipment.

They reached the city in less time than expected and, meeting no resistance, continued according to plan. The 32nd Highlander Regiment began fortifying the city; mapping the sewers, setting up barricades and kill zones, hidden MG emplacements and anti tank mines. Areas were cleared to make room for helicopters and the artillery support were based in an underground parking lot. Civilians were told to stay in their homes and seek shelter in basements if they heard artillery fire.

The other forces circumvented the city and proceeded down small forest roads towards the naval base. There the 3rd Light Infantry Regiments quickly seized the area, and began preparing defensive positions in a similar fashion to the 32nd. Radioing the RN Orion, they informed the captain of the ship that a port had been secured, though it was not large enough to accomodate the Main Battle Ship. Still, the task force steamed north towards the harbour, where supply ships would replenish the regiments' supplies.
Leaving behind 1000 soldiers from the 3rd Light Infantry to defend the naval base, the remaining forces split up. The 9th Mountainous Regiment marched eastwards to secure the large road and establish a forward centre of obseravtion around the large bend. The 800 soldiers left of the 3rd Light, and the 19th Jungle Regiment continued northwest towards the supply base.

Down, barely above the waves, four Wraith fighters popped up into the sky, high and mighty like the Legendary Falcons of Maris. On each of their wings was a painted falcon, it's wings and talons outstretched, ready to make it's kill. And that's what these Wraiths planned to do. They grouped into loose pairings while the remaining airborne squadrons went into a low-AGL holding pattern. Those four listed moved towards the island, first posing as visual reconnaissance, then as hawks ready to strike. In the former, they identified most of the island's opposing military ground forces, and many of the ships usedto land them. They also identified several further off cargo aircraft, either delivering supplies or paratroopers. Either way, they'd need to be killed, and quickly. It was so incredible how vulnerable such aircraft could be. The four fighters saw all of the enemy masses of thousands of soldiers by infrared, each identified nationaly by MILES gear.
This information of their formations and movements were sent to CBG's CIC. Moving towards the southern side of the island, the Wraiths soon found and directed the landing groups, along with two destroyers, a frigate, and an attack submarine as escorts, to the eastern side. It would take a while for them to get there, though. They remained over the horizon, out of sight of the island, only updated by their own CICs.
And now for the hawk-like part. The Wraiths gunned their engines, directly themselves towards the stubby peninsula along the south-western edge.

Hurtian Task Force 5 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11601294&postcount=55)
250 miles from Southwest shore
Auxillary cruiser HTS Marne

"General quarters, general, All men on deck, man your battle stations."

The Admiral had to pause, and then remember it was an exercise, then added:

"Make sure you have your exercise rounds loaded and not live ammo"

He then walked to back into the conning room and told the boatswain to have the radioman inform the locals that they have arrived, and that the flares that the FMX-6Bs drop are going to have to simulate EMP...

On the deck of the HTS Valley Forge (LC-10), the marines prepared to organize the first wave, directing the two hovercraft (AC-42 and AC-92) to take on supplies from LC-18 an LC-92, a full battalion of men and supplies could be dropped off by these two hovercraft in as little as three waves, another two battalions would be airdropped by plane and resupplied by the fleet's 5 helicopters.

Nearby loomed a lone Hiragi class, and 5 Terror class monitors, the other 5 Terrors stayed back in New Ronaonke Island to guard the shores for real.

Back on the Valley Forge, men whinched UL-2000 Minions to the sea, manned a little heavy by 16 pilots and 16 FBIA 'pathfinders' armed with CCZ-75 assault pistols. Their job was simple, fly as far inland as possable, and set up rudementry airbases behind enemy lines undetected. The FBIA, even though instructed not to carry live ammo, each had a 40 round clip of blanks, a 20 round clip of blanks, and 20 live 9 mm FMJ bullets, they were not equiped with any laser weapon simulation equipment.

Upon reaching the 200 mile mark, the attack would commence.

ETA: 2 hours.

The first shots 'fired' in this wargames would be from that of the Western Marisan Navy. Two of the four Wraiths picked their targets: Aircraft coming in on supply runs. Bay doors opened, and targeting RADARs flashed for a second on them, and as their fingers pulled on the triggers of the joysticks, lights went off on their missile-selection panel, signalling that the missiles had 'left the bays'. This signal was sent to the monitering aircraft, who would then send the death-or-mercy signal to those supply craft on the ground, currently unloading. The widespread destruction of the missiles would be certain, or, a message saying "you are dead," and anyone within a certain radius of the craft would have to leave the battlezone. The two wraiths fired a total of twenty-electronic 'missiles' upon the aircraft at the supply base, and two guided 'bombs' at the artillery units, then headed back towards the Arcanus.
