The firm of Lycan and Broncks is proud to announce the construction of three Duke of Saris-class vessels for the country of West Corinthia, with construction to be finished within the next two years [OOC: 2 days RL time].

The greatest boon, however, may be the authorisation of 10 vessels for the nation of 1010102, for a total of 560 million universal standard dollars.

The firm of Lycan and Broncks is sorry that we did not notice Tree Hugging Lesbians' order, therefore we will sell you the vessels at 53 billion standard apiece. Oops on our part!

Also, the firm is proud to announce that with this sale we have broken 1 trillion universal standard in sales! Let this become the first of many trillions! Unfortunately, not for the next couple days - we're kinda drunk now.

Also, an additional 10 units have been ordered by the Aralonian government [OOC: great need to name 10 more -_-]

From the representatives of Rising Sun Industrial in Aralonia to the Lycan and Broncks Shipyards.

Sirs,
It has come to our attention that your firm is having difficulty in meeting the sudden high demand for the Duke of Saris class Fleet Monitor. We would like to be of service, if we may, in alleviating this problem.

RSI is a nationalised company operating mainly from the Star Point shipyard in DPUO's Star Group. We pride ourselves, first and foremost, on the production of high-quality products; to RSI, it is always better to reduce profits if it means a rise in the quality of the end product. We specialise in the production of finished ans semi-finished metals, ceramics and similar; the manufacture of all types of steam engines, both reciprocating and turbine, and assosciated drivetrains; the production of all types of electrical goods, both commercial and military; and the making of large electrical generating and rectifying equipment. We also enjoy good relations with private and nationalised firms specialising in other fields, such as the making of oil and gas engines, high-speed computers, ventilation equipment and many other disciplines.

RSI is confident that, if Lycan and Broncks were to subcontract the current excess workload to it and subsidiary firms, Lycan and Broncks would receive, for a reasonable price, products of the highest quality, fit to take their palce in Navies worldwide. Moreover, should any product fail to reach the standards set by the Aralonian Navy or Lycan and Broncks, or any customer thereof, we will gladly replace the inadequate assembly free of charge. In exchange for our assistance, we would ask only two things: that our firm and those we might subcontract to receive contractual freedom to use their own methods and practices where these will not compromise the quality of the end product, and that the origin of such parts and materials supplied by those firms be recognised by using of builder's plates or stampings.

We look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes,

The Aralonian Office of Rising Sun Industrial.

Re: Outsourcing

Yes, that would be quite splendid indeed. If it would not be much of a burden on your company, we graciously accept the help and oh dear my computer is suddenly leaking champagne. Err, give us a bit – but that would be very great.

[OOC: Erm Toc, I don't think that's cost-efficient to maintain one hundred Super Dreadnaughts, even the Organization of Maritime Powers member-states, the most of them at least, don't have that many. Most of them just have somewhere between ten and twenty.]

The Czar of West Corinthia is very pleased with his ships and would like to order another 11, so we have an even number overall.
Questers
28-08-2006, 17:51
Um... I operate something like 36 ships this size with about the same number branching from anything larger...

So no, unless Tocrowkia wants to challenge my One Power Standard, which I suggest she doesn't... if I was to replace my entire 'SD' fleet for these, I would have about 150. Again, morvonia's and mer des ennuis '50' isn't exactly realistic either.
Morvonia
28-08-2006, 17:56
OOC:actually i kinda is, most of my navy is real life russian equipment(thus very cheap, but expensive to maintain do to there age), this is only the second type of NS created ship i have ever bought.

so mearly in maintanince costs i will save in the long run.
Questers
28-08-2006, 18:01
Um, no. 50 x 634,800 = 3,170,000. Your Navy that currently uses ex Russian equip will have no knowledge of how to mantain, handle, and use big guns and heavy ships. You don't have good SD fleets by buying good SDs - you have good SD fleets by knowing how to use SDs ICly. Seriously, you can't just inject large numbers of SDs into your fleet, and yes, the number is unrealistic for a nation your size.

Questers
28-08-2006, 19:14
I assumed you would use them to, you know, attack people with, rather than gamble on them?
Mer des Ennuis
28-08-2006, 19:23
OOC: Hadn't thought about turning them into gambling ships, but that might not be a bad idea. I was thinking more of using them as test beds for munitions, experimental nuclear reactors, etc. I doubt more than four or five will make it to the end of the year.
Morvonia

or turn some into training ships to train new crews.
The Silver Sky
28-08-2006, 22:18
OOC: Matt, why is 100 of these ships too much, I operate 192 671m long BBs, and 384 421m long BBs. And yes, I've done the math, I can afford to maintain them.

[OOC: Erm Toc, I don't think that's cost-efficient to maintain one hundred Super Dreadnaughts, even the Organization of Maritime Powers member-states, the most of them at least, don't have that many. Most of them just have somewhere between ten and twenty.]
These aren't SDs, these are if anything medium battleships (only 594m in length).

West Corinthia, order confirmed, estimated time to completion 2 years.

We are proud to be working with QAE in constructing Duke of Saris-class fleet monitors to offload some of the production in Aralonian yards.

The Aralonian government has also seized most of the hulls being built for Morvonia, Tocrowkia, and Mer des Ennuis, making a radial statement today that "NO OTHER COUNTRY CAN HAVE MORE THAN US DAMN IT -_-" unquote. We are reimbursing Morvonia, Tocrowkia, and Mer des Ennuis for the appropriate sums and are only building each of you 25.

[OOC: It's also because even 30 is a stretch and that's after I don't have subs, a few destroyers, a few carriers etc]
