The Republic of United Nations

Background:

The United Netherlands was founded, when the nations of The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg entered into the Benelux Defense Union. An union designed to unite the people of the Benelux countries into one nation to provived for the common defense under one Army, Navy, and Air Force and to promote the free movement of workers, capital, services, and goods in the region. The countries of Sri Lanka and Venezuela were incorpated into the United Netherlands as Dominions.

In recent years the power and influence of the United Netherlands has grown. First with the incorporation of the Islands of Aruba, the Netherlands Antilles and Trinidad and Tobago into the Kingdom. Second, was the forming of the EATO Alliance with the Kingdom as a founding member. The future does indeed look bright for the citizens of the United Netherlands and her dominions.

In a recent development, a new nation had been born with the incorpulation of the Iberian Peninsula into the United Netherlands. This new nation was to be named after the most populous of both countries, the Kingdom of the Iberian Netherlands or the Iberian Netherlands for short. However, for most people that live within the kingdom simplely calling it the Netherlands is standard pratice. While from the outside the Iberian Netherlands may look like one kingdom, it is in fact composed of two different kindgoms. The Kingdom of Iberia and the Kingdom of the Netherlands (or United Netherlands for short). Though both kingdoms are highly woven into the other, each kindgom handles its own affiars with each country that makes of the two kindgoms further handling their own local affiars. Through this highly complex system of webs has the Iberian Netherlands brought prosperity and freedom to the world.

With the dismantlement of the Kingdom, a new United Nations was born. This one would not fail. The Capital Headquarters were to be placed in the most populous country in the Republic, that location turned out to be Madrid Spain.

Message to Ben Bot, The Kingdom of United Netherlands

Dear Mr. Bot,
We have seen your actions taken at the South American continent, and we hope that the Brazilian Empire and you comes to and end with the disturbances over there. We support you in the claim of the three islands outside Venezuela's coast.

We're interested in exchanging embassies with you, and we offer you a nice location for your embassy in our capital Tel-Aviv, Israel. If you want to, you're also welcome to open consulates in Algeria and Nigeria. We would like to have an embassy in Amsterdam, and maybe a consulate somewhere in Venezuela.

With respect,
Åke Stålhandske, Secretary of Foreign Affairs

Dear, Sir
Our government thanks you for your support in recognize our claim to those Islands. We are working hard to resolve this issue peaceful, but if war should come we are more then ready and willing to defend our nation. Hopefully, though cooler heads will prevail.

The embassy in your capital of Tel-Aviv sounds great. Will send an ambassador to your nation at our earliest convenience. You may use any vacant building in our Capital for your embassy or if none of those are to your liking you may build your own on a vacant lot. You may establish a consulate in Venezuela if you like, however be aware that our government is run from Europe, our homeland. If you like, you can set up a consulate in one of our Provincial Capitals which is where part of our nation is run from. This way you won't have to go through all the channels to make contact with us as Venezuela is just a Dominion and government administration is run from Amsterdam

Sincerely, Ben Bot

We certainly understand your stand about the islands, and we hope that there will be a peaceful solution to this.

We'll send over a delegation of five men to look closer at Amsterdam, and to decide where to locate the embassy.

The consulate in Venezuela is ought to be a service to your inhabitants and our tourists, who may need to contact the authorities of Kopparbergs for some reason.

We're looking forward to continue these good relations between United Netherlands and the Kingdom of Kopparbergs.

We can arrange a tour of Amsterdam for your delegation if you so require and also an interrupter.

Were glad your citizens would like to visit our Dominion of Venezuela, however we can't guarantee their safety at this moment should war break out between us and the Brazilian Empire. However, we are making every effort to secure our rightful claims and maintain peace. If need be, you may build more then one consulate in Venezuela as its a big country and has lots of sites.

Sincerely, Ben Pot

We too look forward to good relations between our two nations.

The Republic if India would be interested in opening a trade lane with our neighbor nation, Sri Lanka. Our proximity can bring benefit to both our lands.

The Republic of India would also be interested in establishing an embassy within the Netherlands, so that we may be closer to your focal point of government. We feel the need to do so, in your support of India reclaiming the lost land of Pakistan, of which we greatly appreciate.

[ooc: I presume this means no more friendly contacts, then?]

OCC: Nope, they can still happen. I removed my offical contacts but lefted my unoffical contacts and I'm still maintaining offical contact with my allies. So, I still have means to contact the world and the world to contact me. I just made it harder as my government has offically enter a Isolation period for a certain amount of time. You know, mistakes have bad consequences and to correct the mistakes of the past, my nation turned in on it self to reexamine who it was and what its principals are.

Confused yet? :D

The Emirate wishes to ask the new Republic of United Nations to restore their once lucrative diplomatic relations with the Emirate, seeing as our previous histories have not proven to be detrimental to either party, and furthermore citing that if the RUN does not recognize formal diplomatic relations with the Emirate, we will have to return the RUN Ambassador to his home - safely and in a convenient manner, of course. Regardless, we hope that the new government will recognize the extensive years cooperation between our two peoples and hopes that they will permit diplomatic relations to resume after the brief hiatus. If this is not possible, we pray Allah's blessings that your judgments will not lead you into foul weather.

OCC: Well for one, I plan on reestablishing ties with you. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Though, I did get to Kopps, so see it just takes time. I also plan on creating a new fact book. Haven't got to that yet either.

Also, RUN or the Republic of United Nations is a completely new entity, it hasn’t been around that long to. It has no officially relations with anyway at this time. The Kingdom did, but I killed it. Also, I pulled all my Ambassadors out and returned them home a long time again back when their was a Kingdom. I left Embassies with only a few select countries. Namely, my allies. Don't worry, I get a good post up soon setting up new contacts with your government.
