Senator Milan Srecko sat in his office, back from his trip to Germany. He had big plans. Real big plans for a real big problem.

The problem? The population of Serbia and Romania is small. Too small. As a youth, he always heard the Serbian proverb "Нас без Руса - два камиjoна" ("There are just two truck's load of us without Russians").

But after thinking of that very proverb, he had an idea... Russia! There is currently no government in Russia. And what better nation was there to rule Russia than the only surviving USFR-to-the-end nation?

He immediately called General Ljubiša Jokić and ordered an attack force on its way out of Romania into southwestern Russia.

The attack force left after a short briefing, and was to arrive near Russia in a couple of hours.

With the transport ships off the coast of the resort city of Sochi, Russia, the assault began.

100 BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles and 100 BTR-60 advanced out the ships toward the beaches. 10 MiG 29 fighters and 15 G-4M Super Galeb fighter-bombers provided air cover, supported by 2 Ilyushin Il-78 Midas tankers and a Tu-22P EW aircraft.

With no addition problems, the city should be taken in under an hour, and our heavier tanks will be able to arrive at the Adler-Sochi International Airport. Following this, the light force will advance to secure Novorossiysk and then Krasnodar, Kislovodsk, Vladikavkaz, Gorznyy, Astrakhan, and Rostov-na-Donu, while the heavier force will advance to secure Maykop and Volgograd.

The resort city was taken without incident. Everybody bought our "we are the new government" message, and nobody bothered to resist. A report to Senator Srecko suggested that most of the active population that would have normally put up a fight was drunk, since it was late at night during the time of the invasion. (OOC: Sochi is currently GMT/UTC + 4:00)

With the M-84 and T-80U tanks on their way to the airport in an assortment of civilian cargo planes (an Air Tomisko Ilyushin Il-76, a Kosmas Air Ilyushin Il-76, a Tarom Cargo Boeing 737-200, a Tarom Cargo Boeing 737-200, and two Tarom Cargo Boeing 707 aircraft), the light assault force went on their way to "persuade" Novorossiysk to join our nation.

The consolidation of Russia was meant to follow the doctrine of Blitzkrieg. General Ljubiša Jokić was concerned that the operation may become conventional like the German invasion of Poland rather than Blitzkrieg, with the heavy tanks subordinated to the infantry.

Thus, he made sure the tanks all arrived and were ready at the airport before the next phase of the operation began. Moreover, he double-checked with Senator Srecko that the Serbian police forces would police the streets of the conquered territories (OOC: Look at my Law & Order budget).

Following all this, he ordered the next operational phase to be commenced immediately. The armor, this time, would lead the assault and take the cities by storm with the aid of propaganda through free vodka and bread, which were donated by Srecko himself.

The light assault force arrived in Novorossiysk in the early hours of the day. As a major port city, the dwellers did not mind coming under the control of a solid nation, particularly as bottles of vodka were handed out! ;)

Consequently, the assault force left the quiet (or at least before vodka) city to head towards their next target.

Maykop was a bit different, however. Six militiamen founds themselves in a firefight with our T-80U tanks when they were entering the city. The armor reflected the AK-47 shots, and the militiamen were eliminated by fire from the T-80U tanks.

The rest of the populace, however, were happy to meet our forces handing out vodka and bread. Consequently, the forces continued on.

The Serbian light assault forces rapidly took Krasnodar, Kislovodsk, Vladikavkaz, Gorznyy, and Astrakhan without incident; the vodka distribution was the only delay, but it ensured the nonviolence of the local populace. Next up was Rostov-na-Donu.

Meanwhile, the heavier assault force was getting ready to take Volgograd.
Great Romeo
23-08-2006, 03:08
General Ljubiša Jokić decided on his plan of attack just as his forces were arriving at that large riverside city of Volgograd. It was amazingly simple: it would be taken from the south and slowly advance northward. The forces began the assault immediately.
Great Romeo
23-08-2006, 05:07
Volgograd was captured as planned! Another great victory for the Serbs! Praise god!

The tanks broke through the weak militia defense on the exterior of city with ease. The few militiamen stationed there quickly surrendered when the faced with the onslaught of tanks. After a brief pause to give out the vodka to the populace, the force continued towards the city center.

Then the real fighting broke out. Serbian scouts noticed each street leading to the city center was protected by a hastly built barracade of one T-90 tank with ten militiamen rmed with AK-47s. Relaying this information to the tank commanders, the Serbs responded in a unique way...

If the Serbs were to send their own tanks, a large number of causalties would surely result as the enemy tanks would always have the first shot. But if they were to launch special soldiers onto rooftops...

That's it! General Ljubiša Jokić thought! He ordered the attack immediately.

The specially selected soldiers were each armed with one RPG-22, hand grenades, and molotov cocktails. All of them quickly split up into groups of three soldiers each, according to their target. Having grouped up, the soldiers climbed the fire stairs of nearby buildings up to the rooftops where they exited surreptitiously. Very slowly the soldiers moved in the prone position past the barricade locations that they all memorized beforehand.

When they arrived, it was bye-bye time for the tanks and soldiers. Each soldier had an assigned target for each barricade: One would target the weaker rear armor of the tank, while the other two would aim at the other two sides of the tank. After giving the group a hand signal, they would all fire their RPG-22 and drop all their grenades and molotov cocktails.

And it worked. Nevertheless, the tank was not always destroyed by the RPG-22 fire, but was always was destroyed after the barrage of grenades and moltov cocktails.

The rest of the city was easy to capture, with the populace falling for the free vodka and bread.

Rostov-na-Donu was even easier to capture: General Ljubiša Jokić heard that the city leaders greeted the advancing Serbian army, asking for free vodka!

The light assault force set out to take Kamyshin, followed by Saratov, Penza, and Nizhniy Novgorod. They would then consolidate any uprising city anywhere in Russia after the plan was in plan.

The heavy assault force set out straight for Moskva, as it was assumed that the rest of Russia would fall to our rule when Moskva was captured. After Senator Srecko made a televised and radio-broadcast message to the people of Russia announcing the new government, the rest of Russia would officially be ours, and any city who thought otherwise would say hello to our light assault force!

General Ljubiša Jokić was currently planning the attack on Moscow. When his forces arrived outside Moscow in a few hours, they would launch the attack following his orders.

Meanwhile, plans were underway in Serbia about Senator Srecko's security on his trip to Moscow. His Tupolev Tu-114 was to be protected by thirty MiG Fulcrum fighters fully-loaded with Vympel R-73 air-to-air missiles and thirty G-4M Super Galeb fighter-bombers each armed with one TV-guided Grom-B air to surface missile and one Molniya R-60 air-to-air missile, with support from a Tu-22P EW aircraft and 3 Ilyushin Il-78 Midas tankers.

Moscow was taken as planned, and Senator Srecko was on his way to make his speech. His aircraft was to land at Domodedovo International Airport RWY 14L shortly.

The battle was fierce, but not as fierce as suspected. The smaller cities just south of Moscow (Obninsk, Serpukhov, and Kolomna), which could have put a perimeter defense, surrendered for vodka. General Ljubiša Jokić joined the Mayor of Serpukhov for a short drink, where the mayor explained that the three cities were all unstable, and had not had enough wealth for vodka for a long, long time. However, he explained that Moscow was running some sort of protection racket, and that there were some forces in Moscow.

After some more drinks, the mayor was willing to give the positions of the forces, through a map he drew up in case there ever was a chance to get revenge on those supercilious Moscow fools.

At his command tent, the General called up the Air Force and asked them to send G-4M Super Galeb fighter-bombers to launch attacks on all fifteen road blocks consisting of some T-90 tanks and infantry protecting the interior city. That was it for the ground defense; even the capital of Russia was running low on money.

However, he knew there were SAM sites, thanks to the map. Consequently, he sent his ground forces to destroy all the SAM sites, which were all stationed outside of the city, in camouflage, with no armor support.

One hour later, he received a report from the T-80U tank attacking the last target:

"Command, we smoked the last target. Over and out."

The attack took slightly longer than expected, since the targets were hard to find. However, the G-4M fighter-bombers were still out-of-range when the last SAM site was destroyed.

Fifteen minutes later, the figher-bombers struck their targets. All the tanks were reportedly destroyed by the TV-guided air-to-ground missiles, but pilots reported some infantrymen surviving.

Following this news, the heavy assault force advanced into the city. Surely enough, the roadblocks did have some infantrymen remaining, but not after they said hello to the 125 mm 2A46 smoothbore gun on the advancing T-80U tanks.

The rest of the large city was captured with ease. The only delay in conquering the city was, once again, the distribution of free vodka and bread.

Senator Srecko arrived in Moscow, and traveled to the Red Square to make his speech to the largely drunk on his purchased vodka crowd of Moscowites. His speech would also be broadcast on radio and television throughout Russia.

"Comrades, Moscowites, Russians, men of Russia, I address you valiant men!

A great day has dawned! Anarchy, the tyranny of the brutes, has fallen! Fellow Slavs have kindly given my personal finest vodka as gifts to your people!

A large roar of support burst out after that last sentence

Your country has been liberated from the exploitation of the common man! The brutal dominance of rogue protection rings! But most of importantly of all, the insecurity of anarchy!

As of today, Russia is under a new government! A government for the people and of the people! A government who brings the people vodka!

A large roar of support burst out again after that last sentence

Your fellow honorable Slavs have come to wake powerful Russia out of its long sleep, and bring Russia glory!"

While being escorted back to his hotel, Srecko knew that something was wrong. This was too easy. Something must be missing... but what? he thought.

Then it hit him. Russia is a huge nation. An absolutely huge nation! Back in the good 'ole USFR days, a secret police force had to maintain constant watch throughout the country. Although we are the same nation, the same people, that wouldn't matter to some of those treacherous fools.

When we recently liberated Russia, we only conducted a quick sweep of the cities before most of the resistance fighters even realized we were. For a country without any organized news media anymore, it wouldn't be that strange for people not to hear that their fellow brethren were coming to liberate them. Particularly when they appeared as a bunch people handing out vodka. So was the doctrine of Blitzkrieg for unorganized nations... he thought.

Srecko was on his secure telephone immediately with the Serbian police and intelligence commander E. Coli.

"Director Coli, certain you realize that the Countryman Act of 2006 will not effectively put down the resistance of some of the more treacherous partisan fighters? Particularly since are army clearly left some remaining in the cities?"
"Senator Srecko, of course, my comrade," E. Coli replied with a complete lack of any emotion.
"Then... what has your agency planned to compensate for this, my comrade?"
"My comrade, we intend to set up an operation center in Saint Petersburg. We would include a... "security force" and significant OSINT and HUMINT resources in this facility, my comrade."
"How much, when, and where, my comrade?"
"Thirty million, tomorrow, and under the Hermitage Museum, my comrade."
"I'm appropriating the funds now, my comrade."

Maksimilian Evgeney Kaplan (Максимилиан Евгенеy Каплан) was a Russian Jew who launched a pirate satellite television broadcast days ago for a revolution to oust the "Serb swine." Through satellite telephone, he organized for all 50,000 Russian "freedom fighters" to travel to Chechnya. General Jovanović and his forces were now in Omsk. Unlike the other cities in the initial liberation strikes, these were unusually quiet, almost as if the rebels left beforehand.

Meanwhile, General Jokić and his heavy assault force was on an escort mission for Serb Intelligence workers heading to set up shop in St. Petersburg. They would essentially run a reign of terror throughout northwest Russia. After this, Jokić's force would return to Moscow.

The following is a map of the manned presence in Russia:
http://www3.filehost.to/files/2006-08-26_03/223857_Russiaoccupied.JPG

General Jovanović and his Light Assault Force's path is marked in light green. All territory he passes through will be policed by Serbian, Romanian, or Costa Rican police forces transported to the area (those areas marked in red). As the number of police back home will significantly decrease due to this, loyal Russians are currently being recruited to replace most of these forces by three years from now.

In Moscow, General Jokić's forces were responsible for security. They are currently training loyal citizens to become police and replace the need for Jokić's forces. This program should be done in a few months time.

Serb Intelligence will be responsible for all of nothern Russia minus Moscow (marked in purple in the northwest and blue in the northeast). They will set up a operations center in Saint Petersburg, and threaten and intimidate the local police forces in their responsible area to keep them loyal to us. Moreover, they will set up and run a prison system in Siberia.

OOC: Remember that Tene (last ruler of Russia) said that the Russians wouldn't care that much (due to their messed up history on Earth V), so the 70,000 rebels throughout Russia on their way to Chechnya are all the rebels in the country.

Our operations center in Russia reports that numerous rebels, numbering around 100,000 will be staging in Chechnya in the near future.

Secret IC:

That same operations center was up and running. Numerous Serbian agents with the help of bribed Russian civilians were now "ensuring" that the police enforced the area well, and all suspected rebels were "taken care of."

Meanwhile, the prison system in Siberia was nearing completion. In a few more days, it would be ready for operations, along with the numerous Romanian and Costa Rican spies placed throughout the territory to ensure proper protection.

Meanwhile, the largest Romanian oil company, Petrom, was ordered to maintain the Russian pipeline network with government subsidies. They would also start drilling operations in the Urals and Caspian Sea to fuel a limited portion of the Druzhba pipeline.

Another message to Vineyard:

The oil companies of your nation our invited to construct drilling operations in any of our territories, in recognition of your nation's need for oil in the midst of military operations. All the companies need to do is file a brief site description with the Oil Ministry of Great Romeo.

Moreover, we recommend that a Vineyardian corporation makes plans with our pipeline control company, Petrom, to have a new pipeline built that would extend from the Romanian coast to Croatia. This would allow easy transfer of oil from the Russian pipelines to Black Sea oil tankers to this new pipeline that would bring Russian oil to Croatia.

Senator Srecko,

Televisions with satellite receivers in Poland, Kalingrad Oblast, and Latvia recently picked Russian rebellion propaganda, calling for all "true patriots" to meet and organize in Chechnya.

We have reason to believe that the leader of this rebellion is connected to the recent attempts to drag Great Romeo, Vineyard, and our nation into war with the Red Sea Alliance to drain our military resources and kick Great Romeo out of Russia. Therefore, we ask that we be allowed to have custody over him after he is captured and interrogated by your forces and the Vineyardians for useful information. This is crucial to ensure that the recent assassination attempt in Belgrade, important to both Great Romeo and Vineyard, is solved. In return, we will ensure that Great Romeo gets all its purchased Eurofighters in less than a month.

Hrvatska International Oil wasn't really an international company, It just drilled oil in forign locations and imported it for domestic usage and stored the rest inside hollowed-out mountains and underground storage facilities. The company had gone down-hill in recent years, since the seperation of Saudi Arabia from the State. But, now, it was about to be revitilized.

"Its fucking cold up here."

"PULL!" A clay disk flew into the air, and Oil Minister Dragomir shot at it with his pistol until it shattered, indicating a direct hit.

"Seriously, how the hell are we going to get people up here to work?"

"Pull!" Another hapless clay disk flew into the air, only this time, Dragomir missed. The Clay disk landed on ice a few hundred meters away and skidded to a halt. Dragomir frowned.

"Im not sure auctually. I was planning on initial labor from the Local populace..." Dragomir said while glancing about the barren landscape. "But apparently, there isn't one."

"So what now?"

Dragomir looked down the snowy hill and to the Oil Facility being built by the 32ed Combat Engineers.

"I hear GR is building Gulags nearby..."

"Sir, you can't be serious!"

"Im not above slave labor. Besides. Its better than them sitting out here in the blistering cold." Dragomir said shrugging.

"...Alright, if you insist. Do you want to contact GR about this?"

"Naw, I plan to launch an offencive to capture their prisioners and herd them to the Oil Facilities... YES I want to contact them!" Dragomir said in a sarcastic tone. The officer behind him bowed his head.

"It shall be done!" The officer scurried towards the Snow-truck.

"What the devil are you doing!? I have 5 clips left and plenty of Clay Disks. Come back here. PULL!"

-North of the Armenian/Georgian border-

The 2ed Battlegroup Idled in the mountain passes. They had goten there days before, and had set up tents along both sides of the roads heading south to accomodate the troops. Up above in the cliff faces and the mountain sides Anti Aircraft emplacements were being completed by drafted Labor from the Russian populace and Engineers from the Logistics crew. The pieces were set. Only now the Battlegroup was waiting for was a war on Granate, one expected to come from Sistan.

Meanwhile Provisional airfeilds had been build along the Northern borders of the mountains, facing an east/west basis. Again the mountains were riddled with Anti-air emplacements, providing the planes on the ground excellent cover should a nation make the folly of attacking neutural territory. 2000 Dassult Neurons and 3000 Eurofighters sat idle in the airfeilds, both civilian and provisional.

Also, a base had been set up by the Combat Engineers and more porters from the Russian populace, emptying one of the bigger mountains just north of Sochi and building a 30 level-base. 3 levels towards the top were indended to serve as the Control and Command post for the Entire battlegroup, 5 middle base levels were ment for archiving, copy-making, paperwork, clerical staff, and Oil Company Buisness. The next 10 levels were intended to serve as the command centers for the individual Dassult Neurons, which were unmanned, so their 'pilots' could work in a safe enviornment. The levels also included the Dassult's Coordination centers, taking up the center of the large, multi-floored room. The next 7 levels were living quarters, with the last 5 levels serving as living quarters for over-night staff and as a logistics/kitchen/messhall center at the very bottom.

On top of all these developments, the pipeline was build. it included double-reinforced exterior along with a fence enclosing it. Inside the fence there were small outposts every 10 miles, with larger coordination outposts every 100 miles. There were to be manned by Great Romeo's Security forces, who were to patrol between the outposts daily.
