"Queen Emily?" A middle-aged woman in a baby-blue suit peeked into the Queen's Study. A teenage girl with blonde hair looked up.
"Yes?" Emily replied.
"Your aunt and father would like to discuss something with you," said the queen's advisor, Alissa Morris. "It's very important."
"Okay then," Emily said hesitantly- whenever both wanted to speak to her, they wound up arguing about something Emily did or should have done. But now it was too late to turn back- King Jonathan Jove and his sister-in-law, Princess Geneva, had just entered. Ms. Morris turned to leave, knowing what would happen, but Geneva said "Stay, please, Ms. Morris."
Ms. Morris looked at Emily, who shrugged. Seating herself near the door several feet away from Princess Geneva and King Jonathan, she awaited the nuclear disaster that would soon start.
"Emily, I've just been thinking," Princess Geneva began. "You're sixteen now, and-"
"It's her choice, Geneva," said King Jonathan angrily. "She is sixteen, after all."
"What?” Queen Emily asked.
"I think it would be best if you got married," said Princess Geneva. Queen Emily stared.
"What?!"
"This will be a wise move for you, Emily," said Princess Geneva curtly. "You're becoming a woman and you will need a husband before long. I think it is best that you find a good man who will gladly carry the Jove family name, as well as the title of King of Darknovae."
"I'm not getting married at sixteen!" Queen Emily said angrily.
"I told you she wouldn't be up to it, Geneva!" King Jonathan exclaimed. "It is her future and it is not mandatory that the queen get married!"
"I agree with Queen Emily and King Jonathan, Princess," said Ms. Morris. "She does not want to be married so soon and it isn't required for her to do it. Besides, it is the 21st century, and it is highly unlikely for teenagers to get married, especially before leaving school."
"But it will still be best for her," said Princess Geneva. "Every owman should have a good husband! IT is the will of God that it be so!"
"I still don't want to be married off when I'm sixteen," said Queen Emily. Princess Geneva stood up suddenly.
"Fine then," she said dramatically. "But you will see that it is ultimately His Will that you be married and continue the Jove line."
She left, leaving Queen Emily staring.
