I have spoken to a few other NSers about the idea of having a roleplay based on the Cold War and they have shown interest, prompting me to ask all of you.

What I think would be most interesting about this is that it would not be solely based on war, but instead have a healthy balance of politics as well. Diplomatic arm-twisting and economic battles would hopefully be very common. Add in some international CIA/KGB/other intelligence activities for good measure, and I think we've got a pretty good RP.

This is not say, of course, that war would be out of the question. It would definitely be part of this RP, but most likely on a smaller scale, with huge battles being less common but still present.

It would not have to follow history, minus the traditional Soviet VS American sides. But this can also be changed, hell...imagine one of the east bloc nations being enticed by western capital? What about a NATO member falling to a leftist revolution? The possibilities are up to all of YOU, so let's make this happen.

Well, there have been quite a few Cold War Rp's, most of them have failed. If it's a good organized RP, I'll join it.

Just for giggles, can I throw in a third side? A reborn British Empire.

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure. Hopefully, soon. I will have to discuss this with my "associate" and get more people interested. Advertise this to all of your friends, preferably good RPers. :)

I'm in such a damn good mood...tomorrow is my 1 year anniversary with my gf :)

So I'm wondering, how exactly would we kick this off? Would it be just straight starting in a particular year, or would it be kinda like the E2015 RP where we create a short history from between the end of the RL timeline and the beginning of the fictional timeline?

I'm thinking we should start in 1953...perhaps right after Stalin dies.

Me too. I was a bit disappointed with the Irans Defiance-thread, but I hope this will be good!

Due to RL issues, this RP will not be organized for about two weeks. Please bear with us and in the meantime perhaps begin planning. The (short) wait will be well worth it, this is looking to be a very promising roleplay.

My associate and I (haha) have planned to get this ready this weekend and even though I'm busy as a mofo, we will be working on it. Do not fret, young ones, your beloved Cold War will come soon.
