Return of a Giant

Hallad
20-08-2006, 04:02
The Halladi Workers' Republic. A hub of socialism and Arab nationalism. Yet for years the giant -- with over five billion -- had not shown its face on the international stage. Despite being one of the largest oil exporters -- if not the largest -- in the region of Haven, Hallad had remained quite. It'd been years since its economic downfall after the Allanean war, and through the money spending bureaucracy, the nation was stabalized. Eventually, it returned to its place as a socialist superpower. The days of the emergency acts and economic plans were over, for Hallad had re-instated democratic rule in the nation (to which Hasan Muhammad, the long time Premier, won). The economy was re-organized to return to the origonal ideals of Halladi Socialism.

Hallad has seen its time in the spot light. Countless wars, internal strife and foreign wars. Economic collapse, and booms. It'd been one of the founders of the First Communist Interntional, had hosted the first World Socialist Conferance, and set up the short lived Second Communist International. Hallad had been a member of the Union of Socialist Republics with Edolia and Hattia. It had seen its allies rise and fall, and sink into isolation. Hallad would once again be vocal, and dangerous, once more.

Premier Muhammad had worked long and hard on preparing his statement. Finally, though, he had completed it, and delivered it to the world. It was short, but to the point.

"Comrades...

The Halladi Workers' Republic is a sleeping hawk. It is a symbol of so much, and yet in recent years has pushed her ideals away. We must not let this trend continue. The Hawk must fly high and proud once more. We are the Halladis. We are the uniters of the Arab people. We are comrades of the workers. We are socialists.

And as socialists, we must not remain silent. We must speak out, and we must fight. We must follow our ideals to the end -- the path of Halladi Socialism must not be forgotten. Arab nationalism cannot be forsaken. So today, I say to the world: your exploitation will be at an end soon. For we are here to unite the human race!

Wahda, hurriya, ishtirakiya! (Unity, Freedom, Socialism!)"
