After invading the Mines of Moria and taking them from the dwarves, a large population of goblins and other creatures now inhabit the mines. They do, however, live in fear of the powerful Balrog that also inhabits the mines. Their leader, Gorkil, is the most powerful of all the goblins, and won the throne through his might. He is an imposing figure, and because of his strength, he will remain the king until death. The goblins have a military based on umbers. Rather than have organized forces, they swarm over their foes in hordes of thousands. However, they do have a number of creatures on their side, inlcuding powerful Cave Trolls, venomous spiders which goblins ride on, and even more elusive beasts. Although the goblin are, for know, content with Moria, they may eventually attack others. The only thing that will prevent this is sunlight, and an army large enough to survive their vicious assault. Their over all opulation is not known at this time, as goblins do not take censuses. Although they do not have advanced weaponry, they still wield vicious blades, powerful spears, and bows that fire cruel and painful arrows at their foes.
