Rivendell
Early Morning

The most beautiful of the elves, Arwen Evenstar, sat beneath a tree in the garden of Rivendell. She was reading a book of ancient elven that she had found lying around in her father's study. But now, she had finished. The book wasn't terribly interesting - it was a historical read - but she did enjoy to read.

Elrond, lord of Rivendell, had been walking through the very same gardens when his keen ears heard a book closing. "And where are you off to, daughter of mine?" he asked curiously as he approached her.

"I was thinking of going for a ride through the country side. It is so beautiful this time of year..." she responded delicately as she passed by him, handing him the book in the process.

He seemed to pause for a moment. "Be caref-"

"I know, I know... be careful and ride safe," she interrupted.

"I just have this feeling in my heart... like something evil is stirring."

"Father... you have been saying that for twenty years," Arwen reminded him. "It is nothing..." And with that she hopped onto her horse and rode off through the gates of Rivendell.

Meanwhile near Erebor...

Gimli, son of Glóin, was quietly edging closer and closer to his prey. Crouching low in the tall grass he silently parted the thin stalks of undergrowth to gaze upon his chosen foe.

"Arrr... finally. There'll be good eating under the mountain tonight!"

A wild boar, twice his hunter's size, looked up at the sound of the dwarf's low uttered gloat, but it was far too late. With an almighty roar Gimli leapt from his hiding position and bore down on the beast with his axe, striking a fell blow to the creatures back and thus breaking it.

"Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu!"

Its back half now limp the wild animal thrashed about in terror, trying to gore its attacker with its heavy set tusks. Gimli would have none of that however. Dodging the desperate boar's attacks by showing amazing agility (for a dwarf), Gimli moved himself forward at the right opportunity and slit the creatures throat, ensuring a quick and painless end to the poor creature.

"Yarr!!"

The wild boar took one final lunge before collasping in a gasping heap before a bloodied and sweat covered Gimli.

"Ya-har! So be the end of that! Ha! You put up a fine struggle my friend, but I'm afraid this dwarf is much more tougher than you. Heh, Heh, Heh, Heh."

The sails snapped taught as they caught the wind and the small raiding fleet lurched forward. The 20 ships looked majestic as they sailed northward toward the gondorian coast.

In the rising sun the tribes began their immigration towards the west. Searching for new farming lands. The chief raised from his bed, and looked out over the lands towards the river with a divided city. He was ready to take the new lands by force. To the north he knew he would have an ally, a creature from the darkest pits of hell. All of a sudden the Oliphuant lurched forward and the chief struggled to regain balance. He hated the giant beast he was riding on, but they would serve him well.

As he gazed into the distance he crossed, the other 99 oliphaunts were following closely with about 10,000 soldiers and their families coming out of the desert, heading towards the greens lands of the humans they swore to defeat. A city on the river could greatly aid in such a war.

In Iceforge at the Northern most point of the Ered Luin mountains Fasin Stoneskin, the known descendent of both the Firebeard and Broadbeam clans, was finishing trading with the Lossoth of a village just on the other side of the bay.
"Well, here are yer spears and wood." Fasin said.
"Thank you, and here is your payment." the Lossoth leader spoke.

Several people brought forth meat that the tribe had caught. They handed it to some Dwarves that were with Fasin.
"Well, if ye need anymore spears or wood come back and we can arrange something." Fasin said.
"Ah, best wishes." the Lossoth leader said.

For several years after the arrival of the Dwarves, this seasonal trading had occurred. Every few seasons the Lossoth would provide the Dwarves with meat they had caught, and in return the Dwarves supplied the spears and wood for their tribe.

Fasin and the other Dwarves returned to Iceforge with their newly traded meats. They brought it inside and stowed it under the ice til they were ready to eat. Fasin was organizing a party to go south with him to the Dwarven Halls to resupply their own wood numbers. The winter was a harsh one. They used much on themselves, but also on the Lossoth tribe.

OOC; as the shire I get the rangers, right? I do fancy the idea of roleplaying Halbarad.

The sun rose over the horizon as hobbits began throwing their windows wide open, letting the refreshing breeze into their hobbit holes. Early risers began going about with their daily chores, setting out the laundry and tending to their gardens. The landscape was riddled with small hills, each containing a door and numerous windows, hobbit holes. The air was a mix of pipeweed and fresh tea, a scent that would cheer the grumpiest of men (or hobbit). Then the smell of breakfast cooking added to the already fragant air, giving the shire a peaceful atmosphere. Various hobbits walked down the street, waving cheerily or engaging another hobbit in conversation. It was just another day in the Shire.

OOC: So what's the dat exactly? I want to do Bilbos birthday.

In Dunland the sun just rised above the hills and smoke starts coming from the huts and homes. In Dunland you can always hear hammers clanging against metal because there is always a weapon being made. Snal slowly gets up from his straw bed. Immediately he starts putting on a suit of armor. When hes finished he goes out side and gets on his warg. He starts riding through the village.

Half way in between his right hand man, Aben starts riding beside him. Then four more people join in then five. Until the count of people is fifty. The fifty continue north.

Snal's messenger just arrives at Iceforge and knocks on one of their gates. Waiting for entry he leans up against it.

In Edoras the Rohirrim were mustering their forces for a new campaign against the dark men of Dunland in which they hoped to gain more land for themselves and to destroy their military strength in one fell swoop against their enemies in the west over the Asen. To that 6,000 riders had been mustered for quick raids over the river into the Dundenling territories,

As well, a messenger was sent to Gondor to ask if they needed any aide with tales coming out the east and south about a mustering of peoples loyal to the Dark Lord and weather or not they needed military support while it was still able to come in time.

Looking to their own defenses the Rohirrim began to fortify Edoras better and also reinforced the garrison and walls of Helm’s Deep.

As the Gondorian coast grew the men on the ships readied themselves. Arrows were strung, shields and armor given a once over. Swords were brought to their owners. All throughout the 20 ships a murmur of strength and power could be heard, 2,000 men prepared to fight, to live, to return home. No cowards could be found in this group. These men were solders. These men were Men.

The Tribe immigration from Khand and Harad is planning to build a city on the coast near the river leading into the Bay of Befalas. It will include armouries, barracks, stables (for oliphaunts and horses) and have a large wall surrounding it. There will be a port built to help support the economy of Khand and Harad, there will be 25,000 people in the city, 12,500 soldiers with their wives and children.

The Army marching from Rhun is moving into Northern Rohan to steal the crops of the "Good Men". They are planning to steal woman and children as slaves.

The Great Eye was ever watching, unblinking. Using the palantír captured from Minas Morgul, he watched the forces pour in for the men of the south, he had, then he shiftd his gaze to Minas Tirith. The Dark Lord of Barad-dûr watched as 200 of the foolish horse masters were at the gates of Minas Tirith. He then looked to Isenguard. Soon he brought his gaze home. By the year 3030 of the third age, the world of men will be gone.

Snal's messenger just arrives at Iceforge and knocks on one of their gates. Waiting for entry he leans up against it.

A Dwarf walks up to the gate. He opens the sliding panel and gets a great gust of cold air in the face. After he recovers from the intial gust he sticks his face out into the cold.

"What brings ye to Iceforge?"

The rides of Rohan came to the west fold and began to prepare for their campaign. As well, they began to gather numbers of their militia to defend against the invading Dundenlings.

OOC: By the way, how the heck are soldiers from Harad and Khand invading my lands on the way to Gondor when they are based to the south of Mordor?

Well, I own Rhun as well which, if you look at the map leads a clear way into Rohan. I'm setting up camp on your borders. So my suggestion is we can cut a deal involving crops and possibly slaves or we can fight. If you want me to 'destroy' the army and limit my campaigns to the south i can do so as well.
