Eraclea's Homeworld: Lotus
The planet is a lush and beautiful world. Its almostly entirely tropical on the land and it is too hot for most humans and life. Lotus orbits a large yellow sun, it has no natural ice at the poles and the temperature globally is a warm 85 degrees. Though temperatures have been recorded at -30 to 140 degrees F.
The life on this planet endures almost constant rain and unbelievable durations of storms, that are similar to Asia's rainy season on earth. Typhoons/Hurricanes (called: Melosas) are known to last for months and be as strong as 250 mph. The brutal storms feed on the warm water of the planet and can in somecases circle the planet several times before dying out.
It is a wonderful paradise for its people (Eraclean's) and just recently they have developed 'Future-tech' technologies.
Over the past 500 years of Eraclea:
Gas and Oil supplys have dwindled to nothing, but are being created via Bacteria from genetic engineering labs, feeding off the CO2 in the atmosphere.
Medicine has been booming, the vast amounts of plants and life allow for many medicinal products to almost every disease in their history.
Only .5% of the world is 'paved', but under the ground a vast network of tunnels and homes span the planet, the majority of Eracleans prefer hot, damp conditions, most of which would be intolerable for people.
Eraclea the MXI rules with a compassionate, iron fist. She's comparable to St. Nick crossed with Mao. The leader recently celebrated her 10th Birthday with her husband Dor on the island Giothos; the recreational island of the royal family. She's recently started ordering a sweet alcholic drink for dinner called, Libris. Made of fermented rice and grain.
Aside from the main political power, a number of large businesses control Eraclea's people. These large businesses are the ones using space for economic growth and power.
