DuResist, LifeWyze Corporation Durable Resistance Body Armour in full, is the revolution in body-armour. It was developed and tested nearly 20 months ago, however was never released outside of LifeWyze. Currently only the black ops group PSYCorps make use of the DuResist body armour, though now LifeWyze Executive Officer and majority shareholder, Sir James Irvine, has announced a plan to release it for general sale.
Comprising of layer similar to a HAZMAT suit, the DuResist suit has a base jump-suit to prevent the armour fusing to skin during extreme temperatures. The secondary layer consist of an armour under-plated Tyvek layer. Tyvek, a non-LifeWyze produced product, is comprised of high-density polyethelene fibres that will resist any biological or chemical agent currently employed in the field. Armour beneathe the Tyvek layer is 25mm thick steel plate, below which is a high-density steel mesh. Upon the hands are simple Tyvek gloves with a heat-resistant layer similar to the jump suit, whilst on the feet are similar boots, comprising of heat-resistant fibre, Tyvek layer, steel base and cover with leather.
To complement the DuResist suit, the YuResist Gas Mask, produced by LifeWyze and also previously unavailable for purchase, is also being released for sale. The original design was altered so that it would form an air-tight seal about the head, which would than be affixed to the DuResist suit through the vaccum seal. The YuResist mask covers the entire head, primarily a heat-resistant fibre about the head, followed by a Tyvek layer. The YuResist mask itself uses standard technology, with a more powerful filter, to prevent the inhalation of harmful agents. An additionally layer of armour can be purchased to affix about the head of the wearer and onto the mask, offering replacement for a helmet.
Whilst nothing has been mentioned about a release date, nor a price, it is no doubt only a matter of time.
