Military
Legion Grigio- The Grey Legion:
So named for the coloring of their uniforms…
A dark grey jacket, black cuffs/lapels/collar (all accented by silver embroidery), light grey breeches/waist coat, black boots, and short dark grey cap. --one can differentiate between services (ie. Infantry, cavalry, ect.) by the patch on their right breast: Crossed Muskets for Light Infantry.
Crossed Swords for Heavey Infantry.
Horse Head facing right for Light Cavalry. Two Horse heads facing each other for Heavy Cavalry. Cannon facing left for cannon. Rank is shown with the number and color of the stars on the collar (or lack there of).

These men are Italy’s army. They where formed under King Giuseppe’s father, King Ferdinand I of Naples. King Ferdinand originally formed the Grey Legion as a core of his most dedicated followers, but as time progressed and more young men flocked to his banner, the entire army became known as the Grey Legion. With this force Fernando I united Italy and with this same force Giuseppe II intends to defend Italy against all aggressors.

Light infantry regiments known as Lucci (Pikes) make up the bulk of the force. They are armed with:
Muskets and Bayonets (and yes the occasional pike).

Heavy infantry regiments known as Spade (Swords) make up the armies shock troops. The are often used to exploit weak points in the enemy line and to reinforce weak spots in the Lucci lines.
They are armed with: Rifles, Bayonets, and short-swords.

Light cavalry regiments known as Lances are the bulk of the Italian cavalry. They are armed with: Lances (of course) and sabers.

Heavy cavalry known as Draghi (Dragons) make holes in the enemy line that the Spade can exploit for the Lucci, and they are the scout force for the army. They are armed with: Pistols and Sabers.

Canon are divided into batteries called Fuochi (Fires), made of medium 6 pound guns. They are mainly used to support the infantry and smash the enemy.

Legion Reale- The Royal Legion:
These are young nobles and officers assigned to guard the royal palaces and form the royal bodyguard. Don’t be fooled by their social position, these men are anything but spoiled rich brats. They are well trained and educated to utterly destroy anyone that threatens their King.
They are armed with: Pistols and Sabers.
