How about a Neo-Nazi/KKK uprising, which results in a civil war.

They've been planning it for years, and I'd like to see those assholes try it, and be smashed for good by the US Army/National Guard.

Cities voting soft-left, rurals voting moderate right, that has to hold potential in the information age. The internet could be the key, perhaps?

Once people are made to know who does and does not agree with them, well, they'll get a bit of confidence! There could easily be a split between educated urbanites and traditionalist ruralites... stretching it to an actual war would require the fantasy of NationStates, I suppose. But the internet might still be a tool. Have someone seceed from the Union, and advertise it on the net so that others support the idea. Maybe. Hell, all the rebellious kids could start it, and just a few articulate mouthpieces could represent it nicely on the 'net.

It's going to almost a combined Global Effort to force America to it's knees and fall into Anarchy. Disease might do it, but I don't see that happening. Nukes wouldn't do it because America could glass almost every country on the planet to kingdom come. With most of the options gone, the only thing left is an internal conflict. Like say the dividing line between Democrat and Republic gets to become to big that they begin to see each other as seperate people. Instead of being Americans they are Republicans and Democrats. It just dissolves from there.

Thats what I was saying! (About the Neo/KKK Coup). That is the only reasonable scenario for civil war in the US at the moment, and even then, its not likely.

Here's this a massive earthquake devistaes the midwest. ST.Louis, Memphis, nashville, Cinci, Indianapolis, Chiaago, etc are in ruins. The Oil pipelines are burning so little food and oil get the the east coast. AT the same time a Volcanic collapse in Hawaii cause tsunamis to hit the west coast deivsating San Fransico, Long Beach, San Diego, LA, Saettle, Portland, Vancover, etc

The Texan and Louisana ports are still recovering form Katrina/Rita.

How does that sound?

In ten years, after the rest of American Civil liberties have been destroyed (i.e The Patriot Act, and the follow up acts which are going to happen), the people wake up, and openly revolt. Some people RP as loyalist United States Soldiers, others as rebelling groups, either Militias, Terror Cells, etc.

Two weeks later Severe Rationing has begun of the East Coast. The resident has declared Martial law everywhere east of the Mississippi.

A volcano collpase in the Pacific in Hawaii. A massive tsunami stirkes the American west coast ports.

The only functioning ports are in hurricane battered Texas and Louisana.

rioting breaks out in the midwest and east coast. National Guard Tanks surroound D.C.

I was in the last one made by Kulikovo, and the one before that made by my last nation, Spooty, and in the one before that made by Philanchez who I now RP with regularly, so yeah I'll go along with this one, I can't say I haven't got any experience.

personally, I think the natural disaster combo is a good one, but include a Canary Island eruption, causing a massive Super-Tsunami, and a minor eruption of Yellowstone even, coating the Northwest in a thin layer of Ash. But include the KKK/Neo-Nazi/Christian Identity/Neo-Confederate Uprising, I would love to RP a group of people (WWII enthusiasts equipped with era gear) fighting the freaks.

And as for all those slams on Midwesterners.

1. We are not all violent Pro-Lifers, most of us wouldn't attack abortion places, though many of them would be closed as we passed laws banning their presence.

2. Catholics would not be very likely to attack and persecute Protestants. In fact, it would probably be the other way around. Seeing as the Know-Nothing American Preservative Association (Anti-Papist organisation) did more to Catholics than the other way around. In fact, up till about the 1900's, Catholics where on the receiveing of a lot of discrimination.
