Space is big, infinitely so. When one imagines the universe, for the most part a Planet, a Star, a Sector, even a Galaxy is completely insignificant. That is on a Universal scale however. Only the Beyonders work at the universal scale. Most Sapients work on either the Galactic or Inter-Galactic level. Yet even at the Galactic Scale, a planet is fairly insignificant, one could be completely destroyed, utterly obliterated and only those that had a vested interest would care.
Which is why most stories don’t focus on the Galactic Level, they focus on the personal. People still write from the galactic scale, but that’s boring, we don’t care if the Galaxy has this technology, or that, the reader wants to hear about something they can relate to, someone they can understand. Which begs me to ask, would any human really wish to read from here on? I don’t tell a story on a human, I tell a story of a Valsharii, of the God Empress Anisarian Xhal’Nii’Ethi,
But then, I suppose she is still a character, not human, but defiantly not something you cannot find a nugget of Familiarity within. She can still hate, she can still fear, she can still Love. I tell you now though, those without wanting to know the habits of Valsharii Courting, never read my works, as I may have it done, from time to time.
But now we go on, to this stories beginning, actually that is a lie, we go to the beginning of a new chapter in the sprawling story that is the Life of our subject. Enough Babbling let us begin.

What I present to you is words for you to imagine, you can take as long as you want, this is written after all, and unless your connection fails, it’s not going anywhere.
Picture this, you’re in space, and before you there is the sun. Between the sun and you are three major bodies, two planets and a Pua’n’dani. The planet furthest from you, closest to the sun, has a green-blue atmosphere, and one small moon, no longer then a Click across (Not exact, but close enough). You can’t actually see the moon, because it’s so small, but it is there. Next planet is a habitable world, by stunning chance life has evolved on the planet in the form of Sapient Insect, one of those hive minds that, given the time might evolve into individual Sapients.
The third is a Pua’n’dani, from here, you’re closest to this one, but still fairly far away. It’s a giant bracelet in space, its inner surface populated and its outer surface a myriad of bays, structural supports, Rail Systems, and weapons. To you, it looks beautiful. Serene, quite, then a flash, like that would find on a Camera, another, then another. This is a battle in space. Those flashes are Conversion bombs going off. What you are witnessing is a battle, the last major battle this galaxy will ever see. Why? You will see soon, but now we got this battle to zoom to.
The Pua’n’dani is named Final Hope, (That’s incorrect, it is actually called P’Narg K’Spor, but English is much easier to type). The Reason being it is the last Pua’n’dani in the Imperia Di’or Valsharii (Empire of Valshare). It’s rigged with a generator, which is still being tweaked. So let’s get moving shall we?
=-=-=Location: Pua’n’dani Final Hope, C’Trina Imperia=-=-=
Anisarian floated above the panel, below her the great panel flared with life. Below her, Tentacles and arms moved, flicking switches, turning knobs, pushing buttons. Two of her arms secured her, so she wouldn’t float away from the panel, so vital to her people’s survival.
“Lady,” the AI’s voice came, the walls coming alive with colour as it spoke to her. “The Landers Come.” The colour, the sound, the feeling, it gave apology. “There are no more, we ran out of bodies.” Anisarian considered the screen, which switched to remote probes. The Fleetmind’s probes showed the devastation, ship after ship was rent asunder, lifeless bodies floated before the probe, willingly given away for this last chance.
“Do we have anything else?” She replied, sending back, She knew the answer, there was no doubt in her mind that anything else would dip into the precious little fleet they had on this very vessel. She flicked one switch in a semi-causal fashion, her mind went into Tac-Space, the 3d world that commanders had used for so long. She viewed she situation, the Pua’n’dani was visible, a precious thin Yellow Bracelet, while the approaching enemies where shown in Blue dots.
~So many…~ she thought to herself, looking at the approaching fleet. She took the helm of the Great Pua’n’dani, the hope relinquishing its grasp of the parts she wanted. She began throwing bombs out of her main bays, Missile/Torpedoes that threw themselves into the enemy formation, tearing apart entire formations, ships where torn apart, torn to shreds and atoms, but it wasn’t enough.
She needed more strength, her bays threw The Bombs in thousands, moving at hyper velocities (Many simply Displaced into the targets) they smashed upon the enemy, or exploded inside clustered enemy formations. But she knew she was wasting time, the Pua’n’dani was spending its energy to her project, the bombs where good, but main cannons where all offline.
“Let me take the slack” came the message, the AI of the Battle Plate Murder is the Crime.
“Your not going to do better,” she sent back, flinging another set of Bombs.
“Not in the Pua’n’dani no,” Came the smug reply. “Disengage the safeties and let me have some fun”
“Not a hope,” Came the response, sharp and harsh. “If I need to leave before you get back…”
“Then we all die,” the ship said matter of factly. “Me and my crew are obliterated, but if we are we know at least we managed to save you all, that it is us that saved the Valsharii, what more could soldiers ask for?”
“But your not Soldiers!” Anisarian said, sadness in her speech.
“That’s a lie,” the ship sent. “My crew are the definition of soldiers, I make sure of it. We would all happily die to save the rest, we would die for the greater good, but if you would give me at least 5 seconds of time to get to you before you leave? With coordinets for me to Displace myself, and I won’t get killed. Ok?”
“If you die…I will kill you” Anisarian said. “Safeties have been disengaged, go!” Instantly she withdrew herself from Tac-space and got back to the panel beneath her. She considered the screen she pictured in her mind, before moving…
=-=-=Location: Pua’n’dani Final Hope, Space Battle=-=-=
The ships floated in the void, propelling themselves towards the Giant Ring in space. They where slowing down, opening themselves into formations which wouldn’t be open to the Cluster Bombs sent out by the Pua’n’Dani. On the Bridge of the Flagship, Suffering Eternal, the members of several Races gathered.
“We are hunting them Generals,” one of them said. “We have them cornered, they have no where to run, no where else to hide.”
“Can they fight?” a General asked, a stern human, considering.
“Projections show they would have the resources to put up a fight, but so far only Bombs are being thrown in our direction.”
“Bombs…yet no Beams?” the Inlithi said. “Their planning something, the power their pumping should mean either their pumping energy into beam cannons or Field Matrix, and neither has been activated. What are they doing?”
“Sorry to disrupt,” one of them said. “Battle Plate just came into the formation, we are dropping like flies…”

The BP Murder is the Crime flashed into the middle of the Allied fleet. Microseconds later, the ship sent out a pulse, its shields momentarily ceased to exist as they extended out, ripping through the enemy ships like a knife through butter. The return salvo came only against the shields, and in perfect timing, the shields pulsed again when the enemy fire was at its slowest. More ships fell. In moments, Displacers began to snap, ships exploding in fireballs as the Torpedoes went off inside. Beam weapons swept outwards next, slicing through shields and armour, gutting entire vessels.
The Shields pulsed again, more ships failed. As the fleet focused on this new threat, the Final Hope suddenly had a power flare…

“It’s working!” Anisarian roared, across the entire Pua’n’dani. It was sent everywhere, including to the Murder is the Crime. The Murder took that as reasoning, jumping back into its position as quickly as it arrived. The entire Pua’n’dani seemed to pulse, in a moment it was spread across the universe, then it was gone, there was no trace, except a now Faster then Light Fireball expanding outwards.
A Last present to the universe, in the end the thing would destroy the universe, but for now…for now would simply begin absorbing the local cluster. The Hive mind lasted a total of 5 seconds, the attacking fleet less.
The Pua’n’dani however arrived at a location, not a clue where mind, but that’s not for me to say.
Naggeroth, the Ball is in your court.
