Official Announcement of Liberty Networks, Incorporated

Dear friends!

We are pleased to announce to our shareholders that Liberty Networks has achieved the benchmark amount of ten million cellphone users and ten million Internet users inside the United States of Allanea. As such, we are now ready to offer our special WiMax networks to the world.

What are they, you ask?

In essence, our system is WiFi on steroids. Providing broadband wireless communication with ranges up to 50 kilometers between antennae (though usually less then that), it reduces the cost of communications, pollution (since there's now less broadcasting antennae, and the WiMax waves are less damaging then those off regular cellular antennae?

What can you do with it?

regular cell phone communications – albeit for a monthly fee, not a per-minute fee, which is cheaper - (of course if you dial outside our company phones, you need to also pay the company you're dialing to.

replacement of regular home phones – a WiMax cell phone would be as cheap or cheaper.

broadband Internet, which you can use for VOIP programs like Skype, web-based TV, whatever. This would actually end up cheaper then regular broadband due to the fact you no longer need to install most of the cablework involved.

We also accept special orders, government contracts, etc. All you need to do is call!

Questers: 90,000,000

Internet Customers:

Allanea: 5,000,000
Questers: 78,000,000

OOC:

This is the method that I use for these networks, which is WiMax (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WiMax), but of course slightly improved for Nationstates, as in slightly longer ranges (closer to the 50km mark then the 5-7 km mark in many cases)

As such, I can provide the services I described above, and more. Please post here if you want your nation to have this service, and the amount of internet and cellphone users you think I'll have in your nation. I would vastly prefer if you RPed this, but if it's just a 'My nation's people need 1000 cellphones!', that okay too.

I was employed for a brief period for an Israeli company marketing this abroad, thus my knowledge of the advantages.

[THE OCTAGON, NEW SARIS]

The Archon kicked the damn CPU. These days, with more and more people (there are more users than there are legal adults now!?) accessing the datanets, things were surely getting really bloody slow concerning bandwidth. The Archon picked up a handset and called the technicians downstairs asking politely to see what exactly the hell was going on down there. Alas! Bandwidth problems were all over the nation, with some people having two, even three different wires from three different DSP (datanet service providers), adding to their problems instead of relieving them.

After about ten minutes struggling what was apparently 56k on a cable modem and kicking it several times to teach it who's boss, he found an advertisement from the Allanean firm of Liberty Networks, incorporated.

"Perfect!"

He datamailed the company directly, requesting for this service to be put into the nation, a trial run so to speak, in Northern Aralonia.

TO: Whoever it may concern
FR: Archon Doned Hopkins of Aralonia

The datanets in Aralonia have, to put it bluntly, crapped out. We need more service. Quickly.

If accepted, a trial run of both phone service and computer service will be established in Northern Aralonia, with the total amount of users for the phone service as 3 million users and the datanet service as 20 million users. Afterwards, we hope to allow the company to expand to a total of 200 million users of both kinds.

The Aralonian Telecommunciations Advisor will be meeting with a delegate from your company shortly, if all goes well.

"Your Highness, I think you should take a look at this. You know our internet services and mobile phone services are outdated compared to the modern world, right? Well take a look at this company in Allanea. It would greatly improve things around here." Safu Chima, the Emperors top advisor said.

The Emperor took a look. "You're quite right. I like the sound of this, contact them immediately."

"Yes sir."

Greetings,

I'm an official from the Secular Empire of Maraque and I'd like to ask you about your internet and phone services. Currently we're running very behind when it comes to the latest and greatest in communication and the like, and feel that your services would be beneficial to us and our nation, and hence would like to develope a contract.

Currently we have just about 2.8 billion internet users, and 3.1 billion cellular users. The vast majority of these are recieving free internet and phone services by our government so we'd like to replace what we're offering with your service, and of course we'd pay so it will remain free for our citizens.

We are wondering what the costs would be to provide service to about 1.7 billion internet users and 2.6 billion cellular phone users.

Thank you for your time,
Safu Chima, Secular Empire of Maraque

“We have news, Mr. Culprin. Good news, better news, and even better news.”

“Speak.”

“First of all, President Kazansky just bought 10% of our company stock. Which means we have money to expand all over the place.”

“Cool. You said we have better news?”

“Oh, sure. We have been asked to build facilities for almost thirty million people in Aralonia, and three billion varied accounts in Maraque, paid for by the respective governments. I think we should give them some ultra-immense bulk idscount. Marque, by the way, was the Even Better News.”

“Jesus Christ. This means we are rich?”

“Correct. Our shareholders, on the other hand, are now richer.”

Networking the Nation™

ReloriCom isn't just a business. It's a gateway. Family members can communicate across thousands of miles without needing to move an inch. Businesses can keep in touch with their clients and network their branches together for seamless and professional operations. Relorian people everywhere can access the rest of the world through our reliable and fast broadband Internet service. People on the move need never worry about being out of contact, if they carry a ReloriCom-enabled mobile telephone. Our services include land-line telephones, mobile telephones, Internet access, networking solutions and even a range of satellite services for those people in rural areas.

And we do it rather well. Although only founded in 2004, we presently have 975 million satisfied customers across Reloria, ranging from old Ms Jones at number 42, to Jealia-based multinational conglomerate Heelo Enterprises. And most of them are so satisfied with our services, they buy additional packages within months of signing up! Our far-reaching coaxial and optical fibre cable networks, when combined with our microwave radio relay stations and satellite communications systems, provide coverage to nearly 65% of Reloria. This is the largest coverage of any telecommunications company in the country.

But there is always room for improvement, and WiMax technology looks to be one possible avenue for that improvement. We propose an alliance of sorts. Marketed under the locally trusted and established brand of ReloriCom Ltd, Liberty Networks' WiMax telecommunications technology could help expand our network in Reloria, draw new customers away from our competition, as well as offer a new and sophisticated service to our existing customers. In exchange for the use of WiMax technology, 30% of all WiMax-derived profits would be paid directly to Liberty Networks accounts. All setup fees and marketing costs would be covered by ReloriCom. We have already conducted the market research to determine if there is a market for WiMax here. And if approved, our customer services teams can even be trained in dealing with WiMax support enquiries. What is there to lose?

If you are interested in establishing your revolutionary WiMax technology in a brand new market with minimal risk to yourselves, please respond most promptly. This offer is of course open to some negotiation. We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Response from Liberty Networks, Inc.

We at Liberty Networks will gladly consider the cooperation you suggest, however, we would like to know what the prices for ReloriCom stock are. As you understand, we would prefer to buy at least some stock in your company if such a transfer would take place. If stock is not available, we would be happy to simply jump in, feet first, and compete with you in a free market.

You know... we're an Allanean company.
We're crazy like that.

“My God. If this goes on, we're going to have like a few billion people sign up by the end of the months. Tell them we need time to set up all the users, but Jesus Christ, this is cool, dude! We rock around the clock, man! We rock so much!”

“Yes, now pass me the damn beer!”

iPhone Low-Cost Integrated Computer/Cellphone

As years go by, cellphones become more and more like Pocket PC's, and eventually, someone, somewhere would merge the two. This someone is Allanean Arms Research and development, working for the Liberty Networks company. The Allaneans have excelled at this job – as Allaneans excel at all they do.

And so was bord the iPhone. It looks just like regular pocket computer with a short antenna – until you notice that it has a digit dialing interface to ease use as a phone. On it's other side (the one looking away from you when you look at the screen), a four megapixel camera is installed. Because this, ladies and gentlemen, is not just a pocket PC. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the iPhone.

The iPhone is compatible with regular cellphone lines, WiMax and WiFi, which means you can even use it on our competitors' networks – and no, we don't care. We are thankful to you for even buying this. It will switch from WiFi to cellphone use and backwards if this is available through your provider (LibertyNetworks uses WiMax).

This device also doubles up as an .ogg/MP3/MP4/movie player – and you can choose any of the songs you download to it to become your ringtone – no mater how annoying.

You can play games on your iPhone – and if you sign up with Liberty Networks, you will even have access to the company's own, gaming servers for half a year! - have you ever heard anything as cool?

And you know what's really cool? Get an iPhone today, and you will have a 50% discount – that's right, a 50% discount – on signing up for a Liberty Networks account, Internet or cellphone, as you choose!

Greetings,

We're happy and pleased to tell you that an additional 1,178,480,000 citizens have contacted our government to sign up for your internet services and 474,740,000 more for your cellular services. This is a record breakthrough in Maraque as this means 94% and 88% of our entire populations will be using your two separate services respectively.

Corporate Maraque went on a frenzy in the past week as hundreds of millions switched from private-services to government-paid services through your company. The largest telecommunications company in Maraque, MaraTech saw it's customer base nose dive from 8,000,000 customers to 300 as they switched to your services through our government-paid plan.

We thank you for offering a superior plan to what companies here have offered and look forward to the future.

Maraque International News

[former] Telecommunications giant MaraTech saw it's customer base plummet to just 300 cellular customers and 120 internet customers as the government switches it's free services to Allanean company Liberty Networks' services which have proven quite popular within the Secular Empire with as much as 88% of the population switching to Liberty Networks' internet services and 94% of the entire population switching to their cellular services.

This comes as a surprise to CEO of MaraTech who literally saw the collapse of his company in a single week. CEO Oluchi Yaw today announced his plan to ask the government for permission to cut as much as 75% of the workforce his company employs or cut benefits by as much as 80%. The House of Imperialists will vote on whether to allow it or not in the coming month.

If the House of Imperialists refuses to let him do this, they will have to come up with a counter offer or negotiate with Mr. Yaw if he doesn't accept. This is Adisa Ayodele for Maraquean International News thank you for watching.

“Wow. This stuff is, like, glorious. We have, like, twelve billion accounts – even as in Allanea, the market is still dominated by other companies. We need to do something about it, Boss.”

“We sure will. Hit them with an advertising campaign. Also, about this guy who's forced to fold in Maraque?”

“Yeah?”

“See if you can buy him out. We'll merge the company into ours, and use the infrastructue and employees. They'll certainly prefer this to losing their job.”

“Yes, Sir.”

Although the entire nation has access to optic fibre internet, our wireless network is, sadly, lagging. In fact, the few towers we do have are near-obsolete, and the demand for mobile networks far outstrips the supply.

As such, we are requesting that Liberty Networks begins construction of a massive network within the League, to be completed ASAP. We have almost 4.4 billion mobile-phone users, however, the current infrastructure only supports a mere tenth of them. We are willing to subsidise construction of towers for your networks, so long as you can get the network up and running ASAP.

Hello, we are a middleman organization so to speak in the divided lands of Leafanistan, and we can arrange a deal that will skip the long and needy process of filing the paperwork and getting the permits for you to set up your network here. Thanks to old socialist policies it can take upwards of 3 years to set up even a small shop in a tiny town. Sure it might be a bit 'unethical' but with the country divided as it is, I'm sure no one will notice another foreign telecom moving in.

We have but one condition, you can bring in whatever equipment you want, but you can't directly market your goods. We only sell the modems, the phones, the equipment, sort of subcontracting, you will recieve the majority of the profits.

If you wish to know more, promise us you'll never speak of this transmission to anybody else under any conditions.

Leafanistan has more than 3 billion citizens, all looking for a reliable wireless network in a divided country, that is an immense market.

Official Announcement of Liberty Networks, Incorporated

We have experienced a rise in the amount of our clients in Allanea, and in general are feeling the need to expand our lines. We believe this is the time not merely for profiteering, but for charity, for corporate responsibility, for quality governments. Happily, one of our shareholders, Alexander Kirillovich Kazansky [THE Alexander Kirillovich Kazansky] has recently come up with 600 billion dollars (or even more) in gold, and is looking to spend them on good deeds.

Considering the Fieldmarshal of Allanea holds around 10% of our stock, he decided to make our corporation the vehicle of his charity work. As of now, he has donate to us sufficient money - 2 billion dollars - to distribute 10 million OLPC XO-1 computers in Kahanistan to anybody who wishes to purchase Liberty Networks WiMax access. Further, he has donated an additional eight billion dollars to developement of WiMax communication antenna networks to cover all of urban Kahanistan within the year and large parts of the rural areas as well. This will also enable us to allow discount access to the network (at 50% the normal rate) to any users situated in the area of coverage of these antennas.

We have yet to receive a response from the Kahanistani government.

President Nadia Sklenova read the offer. She did not like the Allaneans - they were viciously anti-communist and had left Kahanistan to rot when the Doomani invaded. On the other hand, she did not want to alienate those people who would still take Allanean assistance.

"Tell the Allaneans to get stuffed," she said coldly to her Foreign Minister, Dr. Dragomir Karovic. "I don't want anything to do with them. They're bloody treacherous bastards."

"Ms. President, wouldn't it be wiser if you didn't respond? The people need internet service and communication, and they don't care where they came from. It isn't like we have an embargo against Allanea or anything," said the Foreign Minister.

"We should. Do what you want... I don't want to know." Sklenova crossed her legs and folded her arms over her chest. She looked positively unapproachable.

Karovic nodded and left her office. For him, the fact that Liberty Networks didn't represent the Allanean government, and 90% of its stock was NOT held by the man who had pulled troops out of the path of the Doomani, were enough.
