The Humanist State of Kravania declares a state of total war against the Democratic Soviet Republic of Kahanistan (DSRK).

This act of self defence and national self preservation is the will of Father and Father did not make such a wise decision without having exhausted all other options.

Since the birth of the Great Humanist Revolution and the path of everlasting progress and human evolution decreed by Father upon the blessed peoples of our great society and nation, Kahanistan has sought to destroy us and to destroy the path of our Great Humanist Revolution.

Kahanistan has sponsered terrorism within Kravania, made threats of war and attack upon us, has at every single opportunity, sought to destroy everything we have built and achieved under Father's wise guidance.

This declaration of war is our last resort, for Father is a man of peace, sanity and rational thinking in a world gone mad with emotion and other forms of sickness.

From now on, no mercy or compassion shall be shown upon Kahanistan or it's people, whom we shall exterminate until not one Kahanistani is left standing alive.

As of now, the Democratic Soviet Republic of Kahanistan is dissolved by decree of Father and is herby annexed as an integral part of the Humanist State of Kravania.

The Government of Kahanistan promotes the freedom of people to express themselves, emotionally, sexually, intellectually. We are not opposed to humanism, in fact, millions of humanists who were persecuted in other countries are now Kahanistanian citizens.

It goes without saying that the DSRK does not recognize the Kravanian statement of dissolution or annexation.

Najaster, Capital of Kahanistan

Presidential Palace

President Marcellus Valens was speaking to the commander of the Presidential Guard. "Major Fulton, what is your assessment of the security of the Presidential Palace?" the tall, balding old general asked, showing her a copy of the Kravanian threat.

The slim brunette in military uniform looked it over, then at a map of Kahanistan. "Well, from where I'm sitting, and I'm not a general or anything, but the Kravanians would have to land, fight through the entire city of Al-Bahr, which is full of armed citizens, take out three Republic Guard bases, and that's just getting to the Valens Line."

The Valens Line was a defensive belt about a hundred kilometers across, surrounding Najaster. It was named for President Marcellus Valens, who had been the Defense Minister during the war with MassPwnage and designed the defensive line. It was thick with SAM batteries, protected by the Arrow II ABM system, and had deep trenches with dug-in armor and infantry. Nuclear charges were buried within it, to detonate on advancing armies that managed to breach it. The belt also contained an air base, which provided air support to the ground troops and capital security. Over half a million soldiers were permanently assigned to the Line. The capital itself had enough stored water to withstand a siege of five years.

The security commander continued. "If they survive just breaching the Line, and the nuclear charges left... by the time they make it here, I'd say they'd be pretty much toast."

Valens smiled down at the woman, about a foot and a half shorter than his enormous frame. "Still," said the President, "I would feel more comfortable if all military forces moved to DEFCON-ORANGE." He placed a call to the Defense Ministry, which complied.

The Kahanistanian Navy began laying large numbers of naval mines in the sea and warning other ships to stay away. The Kahanistanian fleet defending the coast, commanded by Admiral Carl Jenkins, a veteran of the Kraven War, consisted of two Isselmere-Nielander built Union-class carriers, one with 200 F-22 Raptors and one with 200 F-35 Lightning II fighters, fifteen CVN-21 carriers each with fifty F-35's, twenty F-1 Masada fighters, seven MiG-39's, and one E-3 Sentry AWACS.

Protecting the carriers were twenty RSIN-made Wallace-class DDG's, fifty Zumwalt-class destroyers, 100 Virginia-class attack submarines, and 100 Saar-5 class missile boats.

An advance fleet of 30 Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, 50 Virginia-class submarines, 20 RSIN-made Breakwater coastal defense platforms, and 25 Super Yamato-class battleships moved out to intercept advancing enemy forces. It would hold position about 100 kilometers from the beach, to stop the enemy advance before it arrived.

Kravania

By the time the declaration of war was made public to the international community, the leadership of Kravania had already made their plans.

The Supreme Leader, Adam Susan, along with the 12 members of the High Council of Eternal Wisdom, and representatives of the Kravanian Armed Forces, the security services and the intelligence services had all gathered in a huge underground bunker, deep underground, over a mile beneath the capital city, Platonika. From here the war with Kahanistan would be waged, via a State War Council (SWC), led by and under the supreme authority of Adam Susan.

Before making plans for Kravania's first strike, Susan wished to consult with Mother, the supercomputer that ran most affairs within Kravania and managed every asset that was electronically based, including satellite data and military intelligence.

Mother highlighted the so-called 'Valens Line' and it's strategic importance as the main line of defence for Kahanistan, upon the arrival of Kravanian troops landing there.

Mother suggested a strike with nuclear tipped ICBMs, to wipe out the forces guarding the Valens Line and to disable all of it's defence networks, thus leaving the Kahanistan mainland open to attack by the invasion fleet.

After a few hours of discussion, Adam Susan gave the orders for 100 nuclear tipped ICBMs to be fired at the Valens Line, with the aim of vapourizing the entire defence network of Kahanistan.

President Valens had decided wisely. The Israeli-made Arrow II (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arrow_missile) defense systems, capable of intercepting missiles in the stratosphere, and carrying explosive payloads enabling them to miss targets by fifty meters and still disable them, fired almost instantly. The Patriot missiles of the Valens Line itself also fired on the Kravanian nuclear missiles that made it through. As the powerful ABM system had only a country roughly the size of Belgium to defend, the missile defenses proved devastatingly effective against the brute-force strike.

Kravania would not win so easily. However, two missiles did impact; one was deflected and landed in a barren patch of the Negev Desert, and another struck an isolated outpost near the Valens Line, devastating a Republic Guard base and killing 130,000 soldiers and wounding 96,000. The military alerts, needless to say, went to DEFCON-RED.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued another statement.

Najaster

As soon as the ABM missile bases detected the launches, the government took cover in the deep nuclear shelter. Civilian shelters were also crowded, but there were millions of them. It would take hours for them to all go down far enough that they would be safe.

The People's Republic of H-Town Tejas is mortified at the Humanist State of Kravania's actions, and declares its support for the Democratic Soviet Republic of Kahanistan. Any war refugees from Kahanistan would be welcome in Tejas.

Less than thirty minutes after the nuclear bombardment in Kahanistan, the following message was sent to the Kahanistani government.

"My Kahanistani brothers, pardon the abruptness of this message, but I feel that this is not a time for subtlety. The People of Ontariumare horrified, disgusted and outraged at the Kravanian bombing of Najaster. Although the People's Republic of Ontarium would like to intervene militarily, the fact is that our military is already pre-occupied with the defense of Bushijatagi... but, it fills me with a sense f pride to tell you that wheras Ontarium cannot directly intervene, her citizens have taken it upon themselves to form a volunteer militia numbering around 12,000 brave men and women willing to fight under your command. All they require is your permission to be admitted into your military as a temporary fighting force.

Of course, should you decline them, Ontarium would still be more than willing to continuously ship arms and supplies to you, as well as house any refugees fleeing from the war.

These attacks on the nation of Kahanistan are unprecedented and intolerable, and a literal slap in the face to the sane, free world. We hereby pledge our support to the Kahanistanis, offering both monetary and military aid in their effort to defend their homeland and to possibly drive into the wretched stinkhole of Kravania. It is high time action was taken against this so-called 'humanist' state, and we feel the need to assist in wiping this threat to humanity from the face of our green Earth.

Upon confirmation by the Kahanistani government, troop deployments will initiate to assist in reinforcing positions around their nation, and Imperial forces will begin an active campaign to hold the Kravanian forces off and push them back, assuming they even manage to get into Kahanistan in the first place. A naval group will be prepared to transport forces to the region and join with the Kahanistani navy in defense of their territorial waters. Again, this is all pending approval from the Kahanistani government, but as stated we will assist in any way possible.

The Drow Imperium does not believe that the support for Kahanistan is precedented. While the use of tactical nuclear weapons is a sensitive move, it is still a legitimate tactic of war and perfectly acceptable. Other nations need not become involved on Kahanistan's behalf, or Kravania, for that matter. Kravania has its reasons for a war declaration, and if they are willing and determined to win this war enough to use nuclear weapons, then Kravania's reason must be just. The Drow Imperium supports the settlement of these issues, through whatever means necessary. One side is lying, and the only way to uncover the truth is through forcing one's foes to admit it, and only the truth will satitate the Spider Goddess's wrath and whatever dieties that inhabit our realm.

"MY GOD" Katherine shouted as Raymond Franks told her the news. "Are you joking?"

"No ma'am. I am not joking. Kravania has declared war Kahanistan." The balding fellow replied solemnly. "Intelligence indicates nuclear weapons are being prepared and Kahanistanian defences are on alert."

Katherine was pale as a ghost. She didn't know if Saint Fedski was prepared for total war, let alone a nuclear one.

"Madam if I may remind you, the Commonwealth has three divisions, some naval aircraft and a few bomber squadrons in the Negev Desert."

"Thank you Ray. I will call an emergency teleconference immediately. Stay here."

"Yes ma'am"


Ten minutes later...

"Is everybody okay?" The Chairwoman asked the members of the Security Council, some of whom were represented on television screens. "As you know by now, Kravania has delcared war on Kahanistan, one of our closest allies. Chief Franks informs me that nuclear weapons are on the table. If it was up to me, I'd immediately declare war on Kravania, but this is a decision for the Security Council."

"Madam" The moving picture of Admiral Ken Murphy spoke. The admiral was in Copacabana, on the phone with Captain Clancy, the military liasion officer attached to the Saint Fedskian embassy in Kahanistan. "My vote is for war. The situation in West Corinthia is nearly over, Communist Revolution and Wilhelmsborough can finish the mission while our fleets and forces are transferred to Kahanistan."

"Madam," Vice Chairman Gary Girardi spoke from beside Madam Schleicher. "I agree with Admiral Murphy. In fact I believe we should take it one step further. We should immediately deploy any available forces for a strike into Kravanian territory. We must show them our allies are not to be fucked with. Pardon my language."

"Thank you Mister Girardi." Katherine Schleicher responded. "Does anyone have any objections to a declaration of war on Kravania?"

The meeting went silent.

"Last chance" The Chairwoman warned. "Going...Going...Gone. To war..."

The Chairwoman was interrupted by Admiral Murphy. "Dear god! Captain Clancy informs me that two nuclear explosions have taken place in Kahanistan. The Thirty-first division reports losses of as many as four thousand men."

"...we go" She mumbled the rest of her sentence. "Admiral, what do we have in the area?"

"We have ten divisions, two marine divisions, two airborne divisions, four fleets and fifteen hundred fighters from the air force. A complete list will be faxed to each office immediately following the meeting"

"Thank you Admiral. General Pentz?"

"Yes ma'am" He replied.

"You are to leave for Najaster immediately. Admiral Bradley will be your number two, and General Fedora your number three. You get the picture.

"Yes ma'am."

"Is there anything else that needs to be said? Ah yes, Mister Keane?"

"Ma'am may I call up a number of reserves?"

"Admiral Murphy?" She passed the question to the Chief of the Defence staff.

"Go ahead Sean."

"Thank you sir." Keane said.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, that it is all. We are now at war with Kravania. The declaration will be made momentarily"

With the simple touch of a button, the conference ended. Chairwoman Katherine Schleicher, Vice Chairmand Gary Girardi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Robbyne Hay and Minister of Defence Louis Riel returned to the main conference hall to write up the declaration.

DECLARATION OF WAR

The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski, sworn to the aid of its ally in Kahanistan has issued a DECLARATION OF WAR against The Humanist State of Kravania.

All trade with The Humanist State of Kravania shall immediately be suspended and all Kravanian citizens shall be deported to a neutral third party for the duration of the conflict.

Citizens of the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski in foreign nations are urged to register with the authorities of the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski, the Democratic Soviet Republic of Kahanistan or The Eternal Republic of Xirnium. It is recommended that all citizens remain vigilant and never travel alone.

The declaration brings with it activation orders for the following reserve units:

OOC: Hate to break it to you Kahanistan, but Arrow IIs and PATRIOTs are in no way capable of intercepting ICBMs. If you look at the wiki article you so graciously posted, it is meant to intercept short and medium ranged ballistic missiles, which it does well. Against Intermediate and Intercontental Ballistic Missiles it has no chance what-so-ever.

Official Message of the President of the United States to the soldiers of the Strategic Deterrent Forces

I have grievous news to bear.

Today, at 4:48 AM, our ally, the Democratic Soviet Republic of Kahanistan, was subject to nuclear attack by Kravanian forces.

130,000 Kahanistanis were killed, thousands injured. It is within the expectations of the United States Government that this foul enemy would strike agai. I hereby using my authority to activate the Strategic Defense Force. I am President Alexander Kirillovich Kazansky, and the Strategic Defense Force is now Delta, Zeta, Four clear, I repeat, Delta, Zeta, Four clear.

Across Allanea, soldiers got themselves ready for the engagement – and calm, steely-voiced announcement speakers repeated the announcement.

This is not a drill. This base is Delta, Zeta, Four Clear. All troops to battlestations. This is not a drill. This base is...

At the Roanoke Heavy Launch pad, ultraheavy trucks began to cart the parts of the Elenaran Mephet'ran H-ICBM-s out of storage, with two rockets scheduled for possible launch.

[i]SSBN's are ordered to resume active patrol. Arm your warheads and be alert. All nuclear forces are Delta Zeta Four clear.

The USS Compensator slid out of its armored pen in the Greater Prussian bay, and proceeded towards Kahanistan, a large, pink-patterned, cigar-shaped object. Aboard it, the sailors were all reading for job they may have to do.

In Kahanistan itself, the soldiers that remained stationed there since the first Kraven-Kahanistan War took up positions on the defensive line with their Kahanistani allies. True, 60,000 troops could do little, but they could at least help.

But the main strike was still being prepared, the fist was still being clenched – the Elenaran was not fully assembled yet. So in case the Kravanians hit first, the Allanean government was evacuated to shelter, and the orbital missile sattelites were armed and ready.

And from Haven, a full Air Armada and 100 Ank'riat bombers took off towards Kravania.

Attention all personnel. You are now Delta Zeta Four Clear. I repeat Delta Zeta Four Clear, on the president's orders. This is not a drill.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF THE SUPREME COMMONWEALTH OF ROSDIVAN

The Supreme Commonwealth firmly condemns both the attack on Kahanistan and the so-called Humanist State of Kravania. It offers its full diplomatic, economic, and military support to the Democratic Soviet Republic of Kahanistan. Furthermore, it declares that, effective immediately, any ship or aircraft known to be trading with Kravania will be subject to destruction.

The 4th Carrier Battle Group, consisting of two fleet carriers, a quartet of light carriers, and three dozens of nuclear cruisers and destroyers left their patrol station, and began steaming towards Kravania at a steady 32 knots. With over a hundred A3U-7 Corsair IIs aboard, this raiding party would be doing quite a bit of damage.

The Kahanistanian fleets engaged to homeland defense spread their warships out in order to minimize the effect one nuclear blast would have on the fleets.

The scientists at the ABM command centers were ordered to investigate the possibility of firing a nuclear-tipped ABM to destroy large numbers of incoming ICBM's. Two of one hundred missiles penetrating Kahanistan's missile shield were too many, especially with cities holding hundreds of millions of civilians.

Civil Defense advised all civilians to don gas masks and hazmat suits if they were to go outside.

Occasionally it becomes necessary to quickly move people long distances rather quickly. Thus the VF-127D Peregrine. The Republic Navy had mobilized for a new offensive against Kravania. One hundred Sa'ar 5 - class missile corvettes, 40 Zumwalt-class destroyers, 20 Kirov-class cruisers, 5 Super Yamato-class battleships, 10 Nimitz-class carriers, 40 Seawolf-class attack submarines, 5 Ohio-class SSBN's, 10 Mercy-class hospital ships, 60 Wasp-class amphibious assault ships, and 10 AOE-6 supply vessels had assembled.

Hundreds of warships and transport vessels combined together now sailed towards the Kahanistani navy, trying to make radio contact to permit the coordination of efforts to destroy the Kravanian ability to fight. Hundreds of planes on the Parthian carriers were all prepared, waiting for the order to take to the skies and initiate a first wave of strikes on the Kravanians.

Lord Admiral Ardeshir Golpaygan sat in the bridge of the superdreadnought Shah Yazdegird, looking out at the seas ahead. Oh, he's quite the character. Too late for me to partake in taking some religious slaves.

The bombardment had never ceased and eventually return fire tapered off, bombing runs and missile barrages hit the interior of the nation aiming for power plants and other critical structures, while damage from AA fire was high.

In the end the nation was blind, the powerful wall put up by the "Father" was in shambles, and any defensive position within a mile from shore was wiped off the map. All without a peep from Kravania. The nation's government for all purposes, appeared to be destroyed.

As a ally of Kraven, I don't see why I could not join in on the Kraven invasion, we could turn the war into a HUGE one, not seen on NS in a long time, as Kravania could with ease committ about 50 million troops to military operations outside of the Humanist State, out of a total size of 95 million for the Kravanian Armed Forces.

Is that 50 million troops before or after I sink the transport fleet?

We have seen the war, and it is going in your favor. Also, if your nation was
to burn in a fire plume there would go our main supplier. We would like to be
allowed to commit 1 Million troops, but fear we do not have enough ships to
spare. Therefore we must ask that you ferry our troops, from our nation, to
yours. We will understand if your decline our offer, and we will work towards
getting a massive transport fleet ready.

We also have one weakness. Our homelands house thousands of AMBs and
we can not move one single of these in fear of a nuclear attack by a barbaric
nation, so therefore if our troops were to be allowed to be ferried into your
nation, via your transport, we would have to closely intergrate them with
your AMB Missle Systems.

Hell, it might make things more interesting, Kraven is only sending a few million so far.
