To the UIR:
Japan confirms it's good relations with it's fellow Asian state and hopes that it's decision not to join ATO will not affect future relations.

To Indochina:
Japan looks forward to further cooperation with Indochina but unfortuantly isn't planning on purchasing more aircraft (I'm focusing on my economy right now).

To ASA:
Unless unforeseen circumstances arise, we are currently planning to send 87.75 points in 1971 and more than that in 1972. We would like an idea approximately how much annual contribution is expected from Japan now that China has recovered and the other Asian nations are back on their feet from the depression (in other words, there's no use in everyone sending a ton of points a year if we only need a certain amount).

OOC: Ato-Sara, you got my 338.5 points sent during the Depression, right? I figured Haneastic had already told you before I switched.

OOC: I got the that funding to the ASA, its the reason the head quarters, mission control and Space shuttles are all based in Japan.

IC:
The ASA relplies that around 40-60 points a year should suffice, though more fundsing means quicker research, more Moon missions and probes to other planets.

THe Philippines wishes to convey it's continued friendship with Japan, and that despite it not belonging to the ATO, it hopes that the Pacific Rim which Japan is a member of will be friendly because of Japan's friendship.

Also wondering if Japan wouldn't mind having an optional trade agreement.

Japan also hopes that good Japanese-Philipino relations will continue. We're afraid we have limited power in the PRTO meaning we alone cannot influence the alliance's opinions although we would approve your membership if you applied.

Also, due to China's increasing militarism, we were already hoping to begin trading more with other Pacific nations. (that way, if China gets slapped with sanctions or whatever, Japan's commerce won't be as injured).

Well, we wish so as well. Currently it seems that Malaysia and Indonesia have resentment or something against the Philippines. We think the connection to China has frightened them, and that it's a simple misunderstanding. We hope to have it blow over, and that new shipping lanes can be made with new merchant marines. However, if it's not just a simple misunderstanding, does Japan wish at least some help. We are afraid the world sees us an non-consequential. So therefore we're rather not much help.

Japan would be more than willing to commit peacekeeping forces to ease the situation in Central Asia. Unfortuantly, the UN cannot do so and independent cooperation with the UIR could be harmful to Japan's foreign relations (aka, we don't want to piss off China). We will first pursue creating a UN peacekeeping force but if that fails, we can then begin talks for independent Japanese intervention.

We hope any possible conflict can be avoided and if the Philippines could influence Malaysia or Indonesia in any way (although I think Australasia has more influence) that would be appreciated by the entire alliance.

There is hopefully no risk of conflict. Certaintly not from the UIP. And we are already discussing with Australasia. Any help from any number of nations would be appreciated.

Japan also wishes for friendly relations with Korea but is worried about Korea's actions against China. Although the Japanese people are shocked at the Chinese actions, we realize that China is far too dangerous to challenge without international support.

OOC: TG coming in a few minutes.

SIC:

Korea wishes to inform the Japanese that should it require aircraft, it can find a very capable fighter from its neighbor, the J10, at bargain basement prices. On that note, we were wondering if some kind of trade or defensive pact would be possible.

Japan declines the aircraft offer, as when we update our airforce we prefer a smaller, expensive air force over a large, cheap one. (OOC: Maybe I can get Columbia to sell me some F15C's). We are willing to sign an independent defensive pact (We already have an economic one through ATO) although we recommend that Korea look into joining the Pacific Alliance, which includes Japan, Australasia, Columbia, and the FNS (and potentially the Phillipines, Indonesia, and Malaysia). It can offer you protection and doesn't try to compete with other alliances (so we don't have to deal with LTA-Pact/ OA-SCT type of crap).

Korea accepts the independent defensive pact, but must deliberate on joining the PA first.

OOC: As for the aircraft, I really wish GB didn't give me a gimpy airplane...

OOC: At least you're actually producing aircraft. Mitsubishi doesn't come out with it's next fighter until the 90's and by that time there are fighters twice as good.
