From the Office of the Secretary of State, Count Vincent Alexander X

Greetings nations of the world. It is with great pleasure that I come to any and all of you with a proposal. Previous contact with us is not necessary for this deal I am about to propose, nor is better than an apathetic attitude towards our nation. Simply put, we are in need of an island. While we have recently acquired several new colonies across the globe, none of them met the necessary requirements to end our search. So I propose to you, world, a deal in which the Dominion of DMG will buy or rent and island from you for a negotiable price.

On to the important details of this venture. Where our newest colonies have failed, you must succeed.

Terrain
Many of them failed because of the terrain, which often contained thick forests and large hills that made movement and construction uncomfortable. What we are looking for is a mainly flat land with little to no growth, meaning that there are no (or very small) forests or similar natural copses. An occasional tree or bush is fine, but nothing much larger. The terrain cannot be desert (sand), forest, scrubland, arctic, or have a significant change in elevation for the most part (i.e. no rolling hills or mountains). The ideal terrain is a flat grassland or steppe.

Climate:
While we are an Antarctic nation with consistent coldness and freezing water, we are in fact looking for quite the opposite. The climate is not as big a deal as the terrain, but there is a better chance of reaching a deal if the climate fits also. The island is to be no colder than ten degrees centigrade at its coldest (most likely in the winter) and no hotter than thirty-five degrees centigrade at its hottest. The ideal temperature would be about twenty-four degrees with a low end of eighteen degrees and a high end of twenty-nine degrees. As our required temperatures have a minimum of ten degrees and a preferred minimum of eighteen degrees, there is no need to worry about ice or snow, but we do wish for their to be little rainfall. This does not mean no rainfall or rare flashfloods like a desert, but rather a light and occasional rainfall. The ideal climate is slightly warmer than temperate, more consistent (meaning it changes less in temperature and rainfall), and less than normal rainfall. However, one of the most important characteristics of this island is its likelihood of being hit by a natural disaster; the risk should be less than zero. It can not be on a fault line, a volcano, in the way of hurricanes, or tsunamis.

Natural Life
Natural animal life is okay as long as it isn't over abundant and menacing. The nation selling the island should know that any natural life on the island is prone to dying out after we move in. However, the main concern is human life. No human life shall be permitted on the island if it is to be sold to the Dominion. Any people living on the island must be deported of their own free will and understand that returning to the island will not be an option. Any human constructions or liable to be destroyed, though they do not need to be removed before being sold. We prefer the island to be uninhabited.

Formation and Location
We are not looking for a massive island or one rich in resources (in fact, little to no resources would be just as acceptable (and actually preferred) over many resources). All we need is a small island that is capable of sustaining multiple hundred thousand people. The depth of the water needs to be enough so that docks can be built for large ships and beaches are not necessary. A chain of very small islands is acceptable in place of one larger one as long as they are close together, but have enough room between them for heavy shipping.

As our nation is situated in the Southern Hemisphere, we are preferably looking for an island that is in the Northern Hemisphere (not necessary as long as it is substantially north of our current location) and quite far away. In regards to its relation to your own nation, it would be best if they were not that close as we plan on having a large military presence and do not want any incidents.

Thank you and we look forward to doing business with you.

Sincerely,
Count Vincent Alexander X,
Secretary of State,
The Dominion of DMG,
On Behalf of the Supreme Ruler

[ooc: Basically I need a small island with a hospitable climate and flat, easily maneuverable terrain. It is to be far away from my nation and not right on the border of your own. I am going to be sending a large military force to the island. Also, I would wish that you have a map of the island. Thank you.]

We have an island that may fit your needs. Known as Kinan, this is an island that was deserted several years ago. The island is about 50 to 70km wide and about 250km long.It is a constant 26 degrees C, and is completely grassland. The island has an abondonded port city, next to a canal deep enough to allow any ship through. The island has an average rainfall of 7cm a year, so it is very dry, though it is suspectable to tropical storms. We will sell this island to you for 2 billion.

Re: Island Offer

We will certainly take your offer into consideration, though we do have a couple of slight problems with it; notably, the fact that it is susceptible to tropical storms. Also, it is slightly larger than what we are looking for and you never told us where it is located in relation to us and yourselves.

Again though, we will take it into consideration after hearing other offers.

LOCATION:Located 720 mi. SW of NYC, the islands of San Juan and San Jose are a total of 90 square kilometers.
CLIMATE:They have a year-round average temperature of 21 degrees C with little fluctuation throughout the year. Brisk winds are a common weather feature, but cause minute if any problems, and allow for easy power generation through windmills.
TERRAIN:Both islands are mostly flat prarie, but the northwestern coast of San Juan does have some low rolling hills.
RESOURCES:Water supplies are quite ample, and the islands are surrounded by rich fishing grounds.
FACILITIES:The only settlement is Puerto Azul, an important naval stopover that has lost 90% of its population since the end of a recent war. The city has an excellent deepwater port facing the San Jose Channel and can be evacuated very quickly.
COST: To be negotiated

Re: Island Offer

We thank you for submitting an island and we will take your offer under consideration. However, before deciding we are going to view more offers first.

Also, our one concern with your proposal is that there is still a populated town on the island. This must not be allowed. The people will have to leave under their own free will and not through forceful measures. As for the price, we will negotiate that if we choose your proposal, as money is the least of our concerns.

Thank you and we will get back to you on this.

-snip-
Your concerns are unnecessary. N Y c would never force people to leave against their will. However, the population is very small and will almost certainly be convinced.

Response

We will keep that in mind after we receive and analyze more proposals.
