In the far north-west corner of Europe lays a small island. Most people refers to this small, cold and unwelcoming place in the outskirts of the civilized world as Iceland. The inhabitants on the island has no weapons or technology and cares little about the outside world. Well that was about to change.

occ: sorry if i offended someone who actually lives on Iceland ;) If it helps you feeling better I'm allowing you to refer to Norway as a land populated by dumb Vikings :)

A cold and raining November day the citizens of the small village of Hofn (East Iceland) could watch the pride of Kamashas navy drive by. The flag ship "Kamasha Dream" followed by five frigates, one destroyer, one cruiser and the supply ship "Jasmin". The Commanding officer had decided not to bring the whole fleet at once but await until he had seen the opposition. About half a kilometer south of Hofn he anchored up and started unloading supplies and material for the inland base. It would take days to bring all the tanks, jeeps and building material inland. As there were no port on the island he had to bring all the material to land carried by small ferries. The ferries looked very alike the type used during the allied landing in Normandy, and judging by there condition they could actually have been in use during the Normandy invasion. The captain was not very surprised that a third of the ferries already had started malfunctioning. A few of the local people sat on a small hill watching the unloading. The Captain was freezing and fearing that he was getting the cold he went inside and went to bed hoping he didn't have to wake up before the colonisation of this whole stupid island was done.

The powerful fleet of 2 Crusiers, 3 Submarines, 5 Frigates, 1 Repair Ship, and the amazingly strong "Jaster's Legacy" Flag Ship put up a formidable sight for the people in the village of Grindavik. The ferries were all set to begin the landing and bring the soldiers, vehicles, and building supplies ashore. The fleet had to stop and make repairs on the almost frozen ships every couple minutes. The admiral was pleased to find that there was no one else trying to make claims to the island in that area. The ferries were busy moving from ships to shores dropping off and picking up supplies to start constructing a small firebase.

Admiral Knossos read the message on his commscreen and began to bark orders. " Commander, we have orders from the Prince. Seems there's an island 170 miles from our present location that the Emperor wants a base established on." He pulled out a map. " Iceland. Sounds like a lovely place."
He pointed at the southern coast. " Here.....a town named Vik. There's an island just southwest of it called Vestmannaeyjar. Initial landing will be on the island, subsequent deployment to the coast from that site. I want the 10th Legion to land and secure a beach head. AI-engineers to begin construction of dual FireBases, northeastern and southwestern island coast. Code name: Fire-Vest."

" Air cover, sir?"

" Hmmm, yes. Have a squadron constantly in the air, 24/7. The King Cobras off the Vampire Class Carrier."

When will we hit the main island, sir?"

" Well, Commander, there doesn't seem to be a hell of a lot of people in and around the town of Vik. Certainly no military force. Have a preliminary Recon force land in town and apprise the situation, informing the residents that we are not going to harm them." He looked at the report coming up on the screen. " Several other naval units are also in the area. We'll need to keep an eye on them."

" Yessir."

"Admiral, we seem to be at Dalvik."

"WTF?!?! we're supposed to be at Grindavik. O well. Get everything off the ships. We'll secure Dalvik. Also, tell the enginners to set up a fire base around Dalvik."

"Sir, yes,sir."

Hundreads of landing ships poured out of the vessels with materials, tanks and soldiers to land and secure Dalvik.

The Xeraphian fleet was one of the WarHammer battle Groups. These were normally berthed in ports of allied nations, but this one was on special manuvers. They were testing the capabilities of the new Vampire Class Heavy Nuclear Battle/Missle Carrier. There were only two of them in the entire Imperial fleet.

Fully 1578 feet in length, it was powered by four nuclear reactors. It carried 200 torpedoes, 120 VLS-SAMS, 20 BlackHawk HCGSs, and 125 King Cobra fighter-bombers. Over 1,700 naval personnel manned the ship.

Accompanying the huge carrier were four Battle Carriers with 74 fighters each, four standard Carriers with 58 fighters each, five Battleships, five Destroyers, ten Missile Destroyers, five Heavy battle Cruisers, five Attack Cruisers, and four-dozen Zubr Class LCs. Normally, there would also be two light carriers in the WHBG, but these were kept back on this trip. The Poseidon Class Troop Transports were in on this trip. They held over 4,500 Royal Marines from the Imperial nations of Black Shadows and The Black Katanas.

The 71st AirWing was assigned to the Vampire, and it began it's routine patrolling of the skies over southern Iceland at 0100 hours. Two squadrons of King Cobras were in the air at all times and the BlackHawks were on their way to Vest for the initial Recon/Landing procedures.

The other carriers held various fighter designations: Copperheads, Mambas, Rattlesnakes, Cottonmouths, and Vipers. The Python and Constrictor bombers would arrive after the AirBase was constructed on Vest.

The main island of Iceland would see the construction of a small combo-base. But small by Xeraphian standards was still big.

The naval base would berth a full CBG, and the Ground/Armor base would house 50,000 Royal Marines and 250 MBTs. The entire operation would be protected by 55 VLS-SAM installations, each installation comprised of 10 batteries of 120 missiles per battery. In the event of an attack, the skies above Vik would be filled with thousands of the deadly SAMS within 2 minutes of the sounding of the alarms.

And all of this would be accomplished in less than 1 week, due to the speed and accuracy of the AI engineering teams.

The installations on the smaller island of Vest would be similar, but containing less individual units.

Admiral Knossos looked at the plans once again, then asked, " Commander, anything on the other national naval forces in the area?"

" Yessir. The countries of Isa, Maldoria, and Kamasha are within 200 miles of Iceland. The total combined number of their units are less than ours, but there seems to be no hostile intent at this point."

"Hmmmm, yes. At this point." He paused for a second. " Maldoria. Isn't that the nation that the Prince just contacted for purposes of alliance to the Empire?"

" Aye, sir. Xeraph is officially allied to Maldoria."

" Good. When appropriate, open channels and remind the commander of the Maldorian fleet of our alliance."

"Aye sir."

The captain was in a grumpy mode during his meting with the rest of the officers. At present was the captains from all of the ships at the moment counting nine middle-age men. Another seven were on there way and planed to Arrive in a few hours. At present was also the general in charge of all inland fighting, the man in charge of all logistics and a stunningly beautiful woman in her mid thirties. She was called Lisa and was an expert on icelandic people, geography and history. With a master degree in "the way of life on Iceland" she might come in handy the captain thought.

"all right men, and women (nodding toward Lisa) what is the situation?"
a captain from one of the smaller ships started talking "well we have proof that hostile ships have approached the island and started unloading war machinery. I suggest that we ask Kamasha for more ships and soldiers".
The captain answer slowly that more ships and men would not be any problem.
"how is the inland base going?" the captain asked
The inland General answered short "according to plan, sir the base can be filled with solders, supplies and war machines in one week"

The captain ended the meeting promising to ask the government in kamasha for more soldiers.

Three days into the occupation of the southern coast of Iceland all was well. Construction of the bases on Vest and the main island were going according to schedule. In another 4-5 days, it would be complete.

The air patrols had reported no contact with aircraft of the other nations in the area. Both Isa and Maldoria were busy with their own affairs on the island and posed no current threat.

Admiral Knossos had sent Commander Scott Mickley to the town of Vik as representative of the Empire. There he had met with the Mayor of the town and his advisors. They were not happy to see the Xeraphians initially, but with the Commander assuring them of Xeraph's peaceful intentions, the Icelanders gradually warmed to the Xeraphians. The Admiral noted wryly that the "contribution" of 1,000,000 Xeraphian Topaz Rings, equivalent to 2.5 million USD, had gone a long way to smoothing the way for the Xeraphians.

Iceland was apparently a land of fishermen and sheepherders. Their standing army numbered less than 5,000 men, and their navy consisted of a half-dozen aging battleships and destroyers. The Royal Icelandic Airforce contained 19 old MiG-22s and two WWII b-52s. It's northern boundary being on the Artic Circle made the island-nation one hell of a cold place, especially for the Xeraphians whose Empire lay mostly in the semi-tropic and tropic latitudes far south of here.

Mickley's affable personality put the Icelanders at ease, and they had invited the Commander and the Admiral and his staff to a feast in honor of the Xeraphians. It was to take place tomorrow in the Great Hall in downtown Vik.
Being the cautious person he was, Admral Knossos had ordered the deployment of 200 of the MEK-ARAKNO AI Units to the town as guards. The AI units, commonly known as "Spiders", were a sight to behold. Eight and a half feet tall, six "legs" for propulsion and two for defense, they were capable of attack speeds in the range of 45 mph. Their armament consisted of either dual .35mm gatling Guns, or pulse cannons and lasers. Their titanium chassis made them virtually indestructable, and so their use as sentinels was doubly impressive to the townspeople. The Spiders completely surrounded the town of 4,766 villagers. Nothing and no one would get in or out of the town without the Spiders being aware of it.

The Admiral and his staff would be further accompanied by a squad of Vhammpyrian Warriors from the Imperial nation of Vhammpyr. The Warriors stood almost 10 feet tall, clad in black Kevlar and leather, and were armed to the teeth with automatic rifles, dual side-arms, battle knives, swords, and a few carried battle-axes. These warriors were barbarians in every sense of the word.

All was set for the feast. Tomorrow the Admiral would meet the good townsfolk of Vik, Iceland.

North-Western Shore of Iceland, 3rd OPARR fleet, On Long-Range Patrol
The Pudite 3rd OPARR fleet was on normal patrols, this one operating above the Arctic Circle, near a pair of landmasses, named, quite unoriginally, Greenland and Iceland, respectively. The fleet had been at sea for roughly three weeks, and was now on their way for home, for re-supply and redeployment. It was uneventful, as the only ships operating up here were foreign bulk transports and fisherman, and neither held interest.

The 3rd OPARR was only about three hours away from the smaller of the two landmasses, Iceland, when patrol aircraft and satellite images began reporting images of extensive foreign presence on the southern and eastern portions of the island. Admiral Kraslaw, who was commanding this fleet, knew of the current state of affairs of the Dominion abroad, and was under orders to avoid conflict with those not already at war with the Emperor, but this was a critical area. This small island had apparent access to extensive oil reserves, many deep ports for large warships, and a very defensible position. This was not someplace that the Emperor would enjoy losing to the enemy, in fact, it may have been colonized already were it not for the war taking focus of the Council elsewhere.

Well, now was the time for colonization. Kraslaw quickly issued fleet-wide orders to adjust course for a north-westerly peninsula seemingly hanging by a thread off of the main island of Iceland. There, there were a number of small villages, none of which anyone in the Dominion knew, and for lack of any immigrants from anywhere ever, they could not learn in any way. This was no matter, as they simply made for the largest obvious concentration of people discernable from the air, which happened to be the village known to the locals as Bolungarvik, but known to the Pudites as FC-0032.

Here the fleet would dispatch it’s sixty ST-37K1 Mekhev main battle tanks, forty GMA-5 Puma self-propelled 155mm howitzers, and four-hundred and sixty LV-08 light infantry vehicles, not to mention the four-thousand seven hundred and twenty elite Orthae infantrymen. They would move quickly through the city, beaching one of the two Executor combat logistics ships to offload troops and vehicles better from the front assault ramp. While the first of the four battalions set up a perimeter around the town, and the second of the four moved immediately, escorted by twenty HVC-01 helicopter gunships, toward the nearby village being referred to as FC-0033. The remaining two battalions would remain in FC-0032 and begin the evacuation of the population there onto the Executor class vessel in front of their town. Any of the populace who resisted the transfer would be shot without question. It was expected to continue without error.

Once loaded, this vessel would back off of the beach and move, escorted by a single of the Adari destroyers, to the second village, where the same procedure would be undergone. Once complete this ship would move back off shore and re-join the rest of the fleet, which was anchored about five miles off shore.

Here is where the Athios class fleet carrier, Inscrutable, would begin operations. The twenty F-78KB Strakhen Sokol air superiority fighters sitting there would take off as soon as the eight LCACs began pulling out of the two Executors. They would begin patrols across the entire northern peninsula as soon as the town was subdued, traveling in pairs. They were under orders to deny the landmass to these enemies, but would not fire immediately as long as the ground forces were not yet ready. They would, by radio, demand that whatever the offending craft leave the area around the north-western peninsula, and then, if they refused, they would be destroyed. The Strakhen Sokol is a well equipped, battle hardened aircraft, and has never let the Dominion down, nor would it now.

Also taking off were the helicopters of the 3rd Fleet. Thirty two HVC-03 transport helicopters would begin ferrying troops off of the decks of the Executors and onto the shores of the village. Accompanying them were fifty six HVC-01 helicopter gunships, some of which would be escorting the 2nd Battalion to the second village, while those remaining would begin patrolling the areas around the two villages, scaring off, picking up, or killing any natives they found, and issuing the same warning as their more aerodynamic counterparts should the foreigners have avoided them, and then dealing with them in the same manner. These helicopters were a favorite of Dominion generals and admirals, including Kraslaw himself. This would not be their only use in the coming campaign.

As soon as a small base had been established three things would happen. The first would be a message sent to the High Council notifying them, and the Emperor, of their actions, and also requesting an amount of reinforcements, as enemy presence was expected to be large. In response to this message, the High Council would approve the deployment of the 1st and 2nd APARI air fleets, who would each take off from the Dominion’s mainland, and make short hops along allied air bases until they could reach the island, where they would deploy their own troops, and make a quick re-supply at the airstrip being constructed at FC-0032, and then make for Greenland, for reasons explained in the next action.

This would include the Executor class ship which had loaded onboard all the natives of FC-0032 and FC-0033 and sail, under escort from a Helina class battlecruiser, an Adari class destroyer, and three Lionfish class frigates, for the larger landmass of Greenland, where the captured natives would be put to work establishing a small airbase, complete with hangar and paved strip. It would handle most of the Dominions air traffic above Iceland during this campaign, including strategic bombers and large transports that would aid in the strategy here.

The final action would be the seeming departure of a single Triara class light cruiser out along the northern coast, and indeed, anyone watching would detect only the light cruiser, and not the cruise missile submarine below it. While still in unclaimed waters the submarine would operate near the cruiser on the surface, hiding beneath the blip enhancers of the escorting ship, and the smokescreen of the same should a foreign aircraft be detected. Once leaving the northern peninsula the submarine and light cruiser, known as and [I]Torchlighter, respectively, would stop and hover there, waiting for orders to begin the bombardment. As everyone would believe the Torchlighter was firing the missiles, attacks would be sent against it, while the submarine escaped and would continue fighting elsewhere, but this was not important now. All that mattered was that a single Triara class light cruiser was seen leaving the 3rd OPARR fleet after it had anchored off the northern shore of Iceland.

The Dominion had landed, and now they were there to stay…

"Tell them that we don no t wish to engage."

Meanwhile, on the island the firebase was finished with its constructions and the army was ready to begin moving. Before the army began, a small Mandalorian Recon Team moved south towards the mountains to get a better view of the island and the colonization process.

The inland base was now officially operational. For once the men could See the General go around smiling. Not only had he completed his mission within a week but he had also been granted all the support he would need for his ongoing campaign. The Emperor in Kamasha that presents of 4 other nations the general would need all the help that he could get. Airsupport new naval ships and more troops had already been sent from kamasha. The new built Nimitz class multirole aircraft carrier and 2 Ballistic Missile Submarines and a bunch of smaller ships. This is a war the Empire can not afford to loose. All the officers knew the consequences of failure. Public beheading of senior officers was never a pretty sight. But the General had not become the second highest rated officer in whole army of kamasha only to be beheaded in downtown Kamasha City.

The admiral leading the aircraft carrier had already taken control of all Kamashas Navy in the aria. He had already separated the two submarines called Chica 1 & 2 form the rest of the fleet and ordered chica 1 to patroling the southern parts of Iceland around vik while Chica 2 would proceed further north. With strict orders to stay submerged they were only doing reconnaissance and reporting back at the admiral.

Admiral Cnossos paced impatiently as the message came across the commscreen. It was from the Emperor. He wanted to know the extent of the foreign presence on Iceland. No doubt as to decide whether to send additional forces there.

Cnossos read the message. His response: " M'lord Alaric. There are three foreign nations here asidr from Xeraph. Pudu, Kamasha, and Maldoria. The only quasi-aggressive stance has been from Pudu, but they have not aattempted anything with Xeraph.

Our forces here are presently adequate to fulfill your orders. However, it is unknown at this time as to whether the other nations will be reinforcing their positions.

Perhaps I might suggest the deploying of two more CBGs and another 75,000 Armored Troopers. Three-dozen Apaches/Comanches/BlackHawks would go a long way towards a better patrol pattern to points north of here.

We are aware that there may be subs in the area, but as yet have not been in contact with any. Our own subs are patrolling the seas south of Vik and Vest.

North-Western Shore of Iceland, 3rd OPARR fleet landing zone, increase of troops
The Pudite position in the area has not as of yet been compromised, and the recent landing of twenty-four thousand additional troops and supporting vehicles by the 1st and 2nd APARI air fleets in the areas surrounding FC-0032 and FC-0033 would go far to reinforcing this position. These new troops included the entire 9th Orthae light infantry division, and portions of the 10th Orthae. Now, while the four battalions deployed by the OPARR fleet and the four battalions of the 10th Orthae went about securing the two bases and engaging in new ground patrols on the peninsula, the entirety of the 9th Orthae would move south, bringing with it it's entire compliment of vehicles and aircraft, which totaled well over two thousand GT-6 main battle tanks, fifteen hundred Peregrine attack helicopters, and many thousands of artillery pieces, either towed via Ural truck or self-propelled. This force would take up and entrench positions at the very neck of the peninsula, at the smallest point of access. They would deploy a series of pre-fabricated bunker fortifications and begin excavation of a trench network to link the small firebases together. A large interconnected web of artillery coverage was being worked out, and within hours of arriving there were already patrols of three LV-08 light infantry vehicles, the workhorse of the Pudite army, moving up and down the entire length of the neck.

As their position was being fortified on land, so was it overseas, in Greenland. There, a recent air-deployment of a series of GSA-2 340mm coastal defense guns and the air deployment of two full battalions of normal Guardian infantrymen as guards, as well as the stage of near completion the preliminary paved runway was enjoying, all added to this security. Currently stationed there were one-hundred and fifty MV-87K-Coba light transport aircraft and their crews, two hundred F-41A/B STOVL fighter aircraft, and one hundred A-89A Molotok close support aircraft. While the F-41A/Bs engaged in numerous patrols over the base itself and the sea surrounding it, the Coba aircraft constantly ferried supplies and 'workers' between the two landmasses. These aircraft were supplemented by four hundred HVC-02 anti-submarine warfare helicopters, who would also engage in sea-side patrols all along the northern sea and as far away as the coast of Iceland, there were also six-hundred HVC-01 gunship helicopters, who were based here as a reserve and reactionary force for the men on the island.

On the island, there were also rising levels in equipment. Now stationed in the new airbase being built at FC-0032 there were two hundred Strakhen Sokol air superiority fighters, who would aid those already operating in patrols above the peninsula, and seventy-five F/B-177A Barsuk Strike Bombers. These bombers had no immediate target, but their crews were kept ready at all times, as these other nations here could still not be trusted. Also arriving at the new airbase were eight hundred Peregrine attack helicopters, four hundred HVC-02 anti-submarine warfare helicopters, and five hundred HVC-01 helicopter gunships. The attack helicopters and gunships would be either in a state of ready reserve, or on low altitude patrol all along the peninsula, while the ASW helicopters patrolled the waters in north and west of Iceland for enemy activity. Submarines would be detected via sonar, while the ships themselves could be seen either visually, with the Pudite genetic enhancements to their vision, or via the advanced radar technologies this patrol helicopter came equipped with. Nothing would get by them.

At sea, the arrival of a single light fleet, consisting of two more Helina class battlecruisers, eight Portlandia class missile cruisers, four Carthage class cruisers, a single Tye Verna class fleet carrier, and her sixty-five F-41A/B fighters, twelve Swiftsure class destroyers, and two Wixted class stealth frigates. All would pull in off FC-0032 and remain there, while the four Haenulf class patrol submarines they came with would begin long-range patrols around the island on nearly all sides, avoiding the south-eastern areas, for they were too far away to worry about now.

The Dominion is very short-sighted beast, and it had its sights set...

Cnossos was a bit relieved now that he had put in a request for reinforcements. He wasn't worried about Maldoria, Kamasha, or Isa. The Pudites were another story.

' This fuckin' island isn't big enough for all the troops that are landing here,' he thought. " Commander! I want foot and armored patrols headed to points north, northeast, and northwest towards the glacier. Have the Firebase Team construct an LZ and a MASH Unit. The Emperor is sending more troops, half of which are the new Clone Airborne units. I want them bivouacked and at high alert in 48 hours. They'll be airdropped at 2130 hours day after tomorrow. Got it?"

" Got it, sir. Uh, sir, no disrespect intended. But why are you in charge of non-naval operations?"

" Because, Commander, Gen. Strickland, now known as Prince John the First of the Isles of Xeraph, is busy playing at being a noble. He;s getting those new islands whipped into shape for some kind of royal shindig."

" Kinda hard to think of the General that way, sir."

" Yeah, but I've known him for many years, Commander. He's a fighting man, not a limp-wristed nobleman. He'll be here sooner or later. He was never one for missing the fun once it started."

" That's good to hear, sir."

The general was speeding toward Bolungarvik where he had intelligence reports confirming the presents of Emporer Pudu. It had started raining again. The car had big problems driving on the slippery rodes on the island. Most roads had been built by the locals and they were not in a specially good shape. The general had decided to drive rather then fly he wold not risk violating Pudus airspace at this stage. Among all these hostile people he did not want to be the one everyone started shooting at. He reached Bolungarvik and Emporer Pudus mighty fortification appeared before him.

He was stopped by one of the guards, if they decided to start shooting now his life would not be worth much. For a second he regretted that he had left Hofn without more protection then the driver and one body guard and his old colt that he always brought with him in his pocket. But then he remembered that there were no hostility between Kamasha and the Emperor Pudu. He had nothing to fear. He came only to offer the People of Empire Pudo an non aggressive pact. If they declined he would simply return back to Hofn. He also knew that the Emperor of Kamasha would not accept the murder of one of his generals. The Honor system in Kamasha told that if that was to happen, the Emperor was to Obliterate the enemy or be beheaded. Even if the only way was deploying nuclear and biological weapons.

This was not what the general wished for but if he was slayed there would be no other option. The only way he could be killed without retaliation would be if he shot first or if he was killed in the war field.

Letter from the Emperor of Kamasha to the highest ranked officer in the Emperor of Pudus army on Iceland

Dire Sir
we do not wish any bad blood between the to empires of Kamasha and Pudu. Your interest in this island do not concern me. I believe that you only had the best interest of your people in mind when you landed on this island. I serve my nation and the empire of kamasha need expansions. Therefore it was my choice to start the colonisation of Iceland. I wish you no harm and See no reason why the to empires should not sign a Non aggressive pact concerning our common interest in Iceland. The Island can easily be devided between two such great empires as our own. I be live that you want this island because of its natural big deposits of oil. We the people of kamasha have more than enough oil at home we wishes only to use the island as some sort of far away prison. If you agree to this pact I can assure you thousands of prisoners willing to work for free or absolutely minimum wages. As a sign of my gratitude for you willing to hear my proposal I'm willing to allow you to open an embassy in Kamasha

Best regards
the Emperor of Kamasha

Also take a look at the island again. Its not that big is it? the whole island is 103 000 km² (including 2,7 % water). Its not possible for all nation to store 1 000 000 men there. there is not enough space.

North-Western Shore of Iceland, 3rd OPARR fleet landing zone, arrival of foreign officer
Pudite operations across Iceland and their Greenland base continued as usual, with the fortifications gaining strength with every passing minute. The only change had been the arrival of some sort of foreign man of importance. It was decided to take him before a Lieutenant of the 2nd Orthae battalion, a member of the 4th Division who had landed in the first wave in the OPARR fleet. His name was Hussak, and he would me masquerading, at least today, as a General.

The foreign leader was allowed through the barricades at the peninsula neck, but was from there on escorted by a pair of LV-08 light vehicles, both armed with a 12.7mm machine gun, which remained trained on the car in front of, and behind, respectively.

When the small convoy reached FC-0032, where the meeting would take place, a squad of ten Guardian infantrymen (http://img47.imageshack.us/img47/5/orthaehl7.jpg) intercepted them at the gate to the compound and ordered the foreign officer to leave the car and come with them.

They would lead the man, and his bodyguard, through a network of concrete, chain-link, and sandbag buildings and fortifications, and eventually underground, to a converted basement of a civilian home. The basement itself was small, with a dirt floor and concrete walls. Lining the walls were tables, each covered either with computers, radios, a single large television, and various charts and maps that appeared to be of Iceland and the surrounding waters, but most were not compete or warped in some way.

In the center sat 'General' Hussak, who was dressed now in the uniform of that rank. He sat, waiting, behind a wooden table in the center of the room when the officer entered. There was another chair opposite him,

"Welcome," he spoke in a think accent, most similar to that of a Mongolian, "to our compound here at FC-0032, what, may I ask, is your business with the Dominion?" He waited a few seconds, but before the officer could respond, he started again, "Ah, I have forgotten to introduce myself, I am General Hussak, commander of Pudite operations in this area." He then gestured to the chair across from him, "Come, sit."

The General sat down. He felt no fear. He remembered the words that had been flowing him through his whole military life. Everyone in the Kamasha army, from the highest ranking officer to the struggling infantry man knew what was only referred to as rule number one: "anyone who dies for the empire, Dies for the greater good".

General Hussak was a man you would show respect. With a face full of the scars of battle and eyes shining with the wisdom of the world. A man that had seen what the world had to show.

"I am The General" he replied. This was no lie, when people referred to him they spoke of only off "The General". The comment had the impact he was hoping for. This General Hussak was probably used with people crawling before him. Well even if the General all ready had established a deep respect for this man he would not crawl before him, not now, not ever.

"The purpose of my visit is this letter of which the content surly will interest you." He had a break talking. getting the letter from his inner pocket.
giving the letter to General Hussak in a small throw he started talking again.
" I would advice you not to open that envelope before later at your office, when you are alone. Still if you do not follow my advice, but decides to read your letter now I wish nothing from you, other that you respect my request of not revealing your reply before in the morning. Still, the journey have been tiering for me and my bodyguard and now we wish to rest. I would be grateful if you would lead us to our quarter for the night." The general stood up admiring General Hussak ability to keep his face emotionless. This was probably the most embarrassing talk he had ever had. But it was surly not the point to make the Foreign General utterly discomfortable. But in the coming talks it could be wise to have the upper hand already from the start.
Still he would have to apologise for his behavior to night.

'General' Hussak lightly picked the letter up off the table and tucked it into an inner pocket of his jacket.

"I shall be sure to reveiw it, in the meantime," Hussak stood, "My men can show you to a room where you, and your men, can rest."

With that the Guardian infantrymen who had led the foreign officer in, led him out again. They brought him and hus guard about half a mile to the west and left them inside a small cottage. There were two floors and as many bedrooms, it was a comfortable little house.

When they arrived food had already been provided, there was now enough to last for three days. The guards explained that should any more be required they would have to file a requesition with the division command center.

Meanwhile, out on the front, the Orthae had just about completed the first phase of construction on the trench network. Each battalion had a pair of forward observation posts and a single command center in the rear. There were eight parallel rows of trench, inhgabited by soldiers in the front and artillery peices in the rear. Although armored support was limited, it did exists, and was kept in reserve. They were not going anywhere fast.

North-Western Shore of Iceland, 3rd OPARR fleet landing zone, arrival of foreign officer

'General' Hussak, as soon as the foreigner left, left the small room himself and made for the real command center in FC-0032, a converted motel on the outskirts of town.

He would there turn over the foreign officer's letter to his divisional commander, who may, or may not, depending on the content of the document, turn it further up the chain of command.

In any case, the foreign General would be gathered from his quarters at precisely 13:00 PST, which would equate to roughly noontime on this island. Once aroused the man would be led back into the small command center, where he would again meet with Hussak.

OOC: Now I need to know what the letter said.

OOC: Ah, missed it...

North-Western Shore of Iceland, 3rd OPARR fleet landing zone, arrival of foreign officer
Beginning the conversation, Hussak spoke in his usual level and emotionless, yet accented, tone, "Well, General, it appears that," with that Hussak let the letter slip from his hands and fall to the table, followed by his hands. After a short pause he continued, "Well, you're letter appeals to myself and my superiors in the homeland. You shall have my formal promise that there shall be peace between the Dominion of Emperor Pudu and the Empire of Kamasha."

Hussak then leaned back in his chair and brought his collar up to his mouth and spoke a quick series of words in a soft voice in a foreign language. Seconds later, the foreign general and bodyguard were led out of the office, with hardly a chance to respond.

They would be led back out the way they came, and would then be escorted, as they were in the beginning, out of the camp. Before they left the gates, the general would be given a short letter, detailing the truce to exist between the two empires.

The only difference between this journey and the arrival would be that this time, the road outside the gates would be as far as they would ever go. Once having left the camp the escorting LV-08s would each fire two quick 40mm grenade rounds into the back, and front, window of the dignitary’s car, respectively. Any further movement would be cut short by a platoon of Orthae concealed in the snow around the road.

To ensure that nothing would be known of this, electronic jamming via the communications center in FC-0032 would cut short the foreigners use of a radio, radar, GPS, or any other such device. This would be a clean kill, the first blood of a war that was set to expand.

Northern Sea, Dominion Naval Northern Task Group, Port class cruise missile submarine Glorious Confederacy
As per the orders received late into the night the day before the large cruise missile submarine Glorious Confederacy began their well-practiced routine observed before the operation to come. This did, unfortunately for someone, involve the priming and programming of eight Pudite R-41 submarine launched cruise missiles, which would deliver over twenty-two thousand pounds of high explosive warheads onto the precise coordinates of the village of Hofn, controlled by the now-enemy Kamashan forces. They would land in an even spread across the settled area, so as to work to maximum effect.

Only seconds after that a second barrage would hit the area around the small town, but this one would prove to be slightly more effective. Over six thousand missiles were launched from Pudite naval and ground stations across Iceland, which would deliver well over two million pounds of high explosive to the Kamashan fleet offshore of the frigid island, with over ten percent of the entire bombardment given up by the single Roydia class battleship in attendance.

The Kamashan presence in this land would not be tolerated, and soon, everyone else would get the same...

The days slid by uneventfully as the bases were constructed and the patrols pushed ever northward toward the two glaciers. Cnossos was aware that a couple of the other nations who were staking claims to this block of ice were'nt the friendliest, but he wasn't concerned. They were no match for the Barbaric Empire of Xeraph.

The AI Engineers had completed the construction of six forward FireBases in an arc running from east to west just south of the glacier. These FireBases were a bit larger than normal. For the first time, they contained a platoon of armor: 35 Beowulf MBTs, a dozen self-propelled howitzers, and a battery of multi-launch VLS. In addition, several MASH Units were in operation should push come to shove.

The Emperor has deployed two more CBGs and an AirWing to the settlement which added another 48 naval vessals and 96 aircraft to what was already stationed on the island.

As he read the news about what was going on at home, he smiled at the story of the Xeraphian annexation of the Arakani Islands and the subsequent appointment of Gen. John Strickland, now Prince John, as the island's ruler. The territory had been renamed The Protectorate of the Isles of Xeraph. A few nations had raised questions as to the propriety of annexing land that didn't belong to Xeraph. The Emperor had basically told them to mind their own business, that what went on in the Empire was of no concern to them. So, the Empire had yet another nation added to it.

There was a small but disturbing report about some goings-on in the region known as The Pagan Borderlands. The nations that made up this region were apparently a bunch of blood-thirsty warlords bent on the aquisition of resources. The disturbing part was the rumor that the former High General of Vhammpyr, Azulun, was alive and well and stirring up trouble. He had twice escaped the forces of the old Allied Coalition and was apparently in hiding in The Borderlands. Now he was rumored to have killed the rulers of two of the nations of the Borderlands and had assumed control of those nations. Cnossos thought that the Empire should just nuke the region and be done with him, but he also knew that that wasn't going to happen.

" Admiral, message from the Emperor."

Cnossos reached out for the message, and a feeling of foreboding came over him. As he read it, his heart sank. Recon reports from the Orbiting Battle Platforms showed that there was a build-up of forces along the northern edge of Iceland. The Pudites and the Kamashans seemed to be preparing for some kind of fight.

Xeraph and the Maldorians were allies, and Imperial Isa was allied to the Maldorians. It would be interesting to see how all of that would play out. " Ensign, send a message to both the Maldorians and the Isans. Extend an invitation to their respective commanders to meet with me in 48 hours in a neutral area. We need to get our facts straight and decide what, if any, action we'll need to take in the event of aggression. And get that messgae off immediately."

" Aye sir."

Xeraph alone had enough of a military presence to respond to any attack. But it was always good to know that you had some back-up from allies....

Admiral Cnossos glanced at the map of Iceland while trying to figure out just where the other nations were claiming territory. It looked something like this:

Kamasha laid claim to the eastern section/shoreline of Iceland;

Emperor Pudu was intent on grabbing all of the northern sector as possible;

Imperial Isa was landing personnel on the western shores,;

Maldoria was claiming the southwestern areas.

Xeraph's positions were a lot clearer as he himself had ordered the patrols to the following locations:
15,000 troops to the are just south of the Myrdal Glacier,
25,000 troops to the area up to and including the Vatna Glacier ( south )
which was off to the NorthEast. This included Orafa, the highest point in
Iceland.
In all, Xeraphian territory extends from the town of Selfoss in the west to
Orafa in the east, and north to the southern portion of the Hofs Glacier..
In addition, the island of Vest was now a part of the Xeraphian Colonial
Possessions. There were now 165,000 armored troopers on the island with
25,000 more on their way. The naval and airforce units brought the total
up to almost 250,000.

Cnossos was an old hand at these land grabs. Sooner or later the shooting would start and when the dust cleared there would be at least one new Xeraphian ally and one new enemy, who would be limping away from the territory they had thought to conquer. He didn't expect this one to be any different.

As the general left camp followed by two other vehicles he felt the good feeling of complete success. He had ensured that a alliance between pudu and Kamasha would be a reality. Since other nations present on the island already had there alliances this tactical moves would help even the scores. Once out of sight from the base the small convoy stopped. The general unable to see any reason of stopping jumped out of the car moving forward to the leading vehicle saw two shells being launched from those supposed to be friends. Nothing was left of the general and his companion.

The highest ranking officer of the whole empire of had not been left without protection. A group of seven elite soldiers had decided to obey his orders and follow him. They had left the camp first on snowmobiles then later on foot. As they saw the general being slayed before there eyes they deployed anti tank-weaponry. These backstabbing men would not return home.

"Admiral, we have an attack being carried out against Kamashan personell."

Cnossos jumped up barking orders. " Bring all Xeraphian unit to High Alert! Inform our allies the Maldorians of the incident and advise they go to alert. Get a squadron of Rattlesnakes up. I want a half-dozen Beowulfs to head as close to the area of incident as they can, but not to cross our claimed borders. If the Rattlesnakes are fired upon, they may return fire but not before. Get continuous stream from the OBPs and ask that they expand their readiness. It may be more precipitous to blast a bunch of enemy tanks out of existence from space than from the ground. Oh, and inform the Prince and the Emperor while your'e at it."

'Here we go', he thought. ' It starts the same way every time'..........

occ hehe sorry the post was made longer I don't know what happened.

10 000 troops were stationed outside the southrn parts of pudu's border. They were heavily armed with anti-tank as well as anti-air equipment. Digging in and preparing to lunch a attack or defend themselves if the pudu army were stupid enough to attack. Kamashas navy were closing in on stykkishomur where they planed the construction of a new smaller camp.
the ground troops brought with them mortars, 1000 M2 Bradleys and 100 ADATS.

while the infantry were freezing there balls of in western territory some men were sent to the small village of Egilsstadir to create a second main base. If this were done Kamasha would have full control of the north east shores.

Southern Pudite border, Kamashan Presence, Pudite Reaction
The forty-thousand Pudite soldiers stationed on the southern border were dug in extensively, and when it was detected by both land and air patrols in the area that a large Kamashan, and thus hostile, force was approaching, a response would be natural.

Although it would probably have been recorded as a victory in any case, the Dominion's general's decided against ordering a general attack on the enemy column, despite the fact that they had it both outnumbered and outgunned. They chose, instead to adopt a widespread bombing campaign, utilizing a pair of squadrons, both of whom were based on the Greenland landmass, of F/B-177A Barsuk strike bombers. Each squadron contained fifty, although not the entire squadron of either formation was present in this theater. All in all, a total of fifteen Barsuks were cleared for the operation, not that this was a hindrance in any way. These aircraft could operate well above the range of any anti-aircraft system the enemy soldiers could have carried, and were well able to deliver their thirty five thousand pounds of high explosive from that altitude.

This thirty-five thousand pounds would mean a different thing for many of the individual aircraft operating in the formation, some would drop thirty-nine of their five-hundred pound fragmentation, anti-infantry explosives to lay waste to the foreign soldiers, while others would move to the other end of the scale and deploy three five-thousand pound bombs and a pair of two-thousand pounders to deal with the larger threats posed in the column. There were of course other combinations and configurations, with some carrying six two-thousand pound bombs and eighteen two-hundred and fifty pound bombs for the infantry aspect.

It would be both a diverse and devastating bombardment, with over five hundred thousand pounds of bombs raining down on the foreign invaders with each nearly hourly strike. These would continue through the night, accompanied by the second element of the Dominion's strategy to deal with these men.

This second element consisted of the twelve thousand artillery pieces deployed along that border, ranging from the tame 90mm gun/howitzer, to the monstrous 280mm medium howitzer. All of these, broken down into specifically; two-thousand 90mm gun/howitzers, four-thousand five hundred 105mm gun/howitzers, two-thousand five hundred 155mm gun/howitzers, five-hundred 280mm medium howitzers, seven-hundred and fifty 88mm anti-aircraft guns, three-thousand and five hundred 155mm self-propelled howitzers, and one-thousand one-hundred and twenty-five 128mm self-propelled anti-tank guns. All these would be directed, indirectly at first, and then directly should they close range, at the enemy soldiers and tanks, depending on gun and howitzer design. All in all, per minute, there would be roughly nine-hundred thousand pounds of high explosive landing on that column in half-hour intervals of fire and wait, which would continue for as long as was deemed necessary.

Before these foreigners could even pick out their shovel the Pudites were on them, and they would not stop until these enemies were driven from their island...

Admiral Cnossos read the message one more time, just to be sure he wasn't misunderstanding anything. He wasn't, and as he sat down heavily in his chair, he ran a hand through his thinning hair and muttered, " Shitfire on all of 'em. This is fuckin' crazy. We haven't been fired on, we haven't even been in contact with any hostiles. Why the fuck are we being ordered to do this?" He looked over at his CommTeam, who were casting worried glances in his direction. " So I suppose your'e all wondering what this is all about, huh?"

He read the message to them. It was straight from the Emperor: " Admiral, this is Top Secret, Top Priority. Orders to be carried out immediately. The Pudites are massing on both land and sea and the Kamashans are headed into a possible disaster. Isa and the Maldorians are supposedly on our side, but I'm not counting on any help from them at this point. You have three CBGs berthed in Icelandic waters right now with four more just 30 hours away. Of the 168 total naval vessals I'm putting at your disposal, leave ten at Vest and ten off the southeastern coast so as to protect the town. The rest I'm ordering north to the area claimed by Pudu, just outside of their territorial waters. We'll be in neutral waters, but that may not stop them from attacking. We're there just as a presence. No communication with them unless they contact you first. No fighting unless they fire first.

I want the battleships and destroyers lined up along a 50 mile arc, staggered formation, carriers behind them at 20 miles outside their waters. Missile ships at Full Battle Alert, HCGSs in the air 24/7 as patrol along neutral line.

If push comes to shove, you are to bombard the coastal areas of the Pudite settlements, proceeding inland 1 mile every 6 rounds. If they put up any aircraft, scramble the fighters off of the carriers and launch the SAMs from the Missile Ships.

Admiral, I know this doesn't make much sense right now, but these measures are necessary for the security of the Empire and it's new base in Iceland.

(signed)

Alaric Tan'it, Imperator Xeraphus

Cnossos folded the paper neatly and placed it in his pocket. " Well, gentlemen, there you have it. Looks like it's gonna be a shootin' war before long. Captain, relay these orders to all ship commanders and have the ground troops dig in deeper than they already are. Land-based armor and VLS on High Alert. Two additional Viper squadrons to patrol areas north of the glaciers. I don't want any sneak attacks happening. All commanders, all stations: if ANY shots are fired by the Pudites, I'm authorizing full retaliation, no quarter, no aid or comfort to the enemy. I want them hit and hit HARD! Got it?"

"Yessir, got it. Channels open, transmitting message......"

Within 15 minutes, the Xeraphian forces were scrambling to posts for the trip north to international waters seven miles off the coast of the Pudite settlement. ETA was approximately 36 hours. Land forces were beefed up, and an additional 144 Vipers were joining the Rattlesnakes already in the air. Of the 120 naval vessals deploying, half went east and north, half went west and north. They would converge in an arc outside Pudu's waters in a day and a half.

Cnossos hoped that the Emperor knew what he was doing.............

Iceland, Dominion Operations, Across the Island
First, the infantry on the Pudite southern border waited in their trenches, weapons to bear and trained across the frozen oblast ahead of them. The trenches were dug at the edge of a small ridge, overlooking a flat plain, with a small dip behind them. This first line of trenches would cause most of the Dominions inflicted casualties as the enemy would be forced to operate across a large flat plain, in perfect line of sight of the highly trained Dominion machine gunners. Of these gunners, there was one in every squad, carrying a light, 7.62mm machine gun. They were supplemented by every platoon’s heavy weapons team, which operated the heavy machine guns, the 14.5mm KPV. Crossing this plain would be a near death sentence, especially with the Dominion's 90mm gun/howitzers, embedded in trench lines, firing onto them as they approached, and then leveling their trajectory and would begin firing directly into the enemy vehicles and personnel.

Behind these trench lines, both on the ridge and behind, were the larger artillery pieces, the 155mm and 240mm howitzers, as well as others, would continue firing, saturating the defenseless, stationary enemy with hundreds of thousands of pounds of high explosive shells.

As no enemy infantry had actually advanced, and seemed entirely preoccupied with constructing their own trenches entirely in range of the Pudite guns, the infantry had to be content to wait.

Meanwhile, over the fortifications of FC-0032 and FC-0033, both Dominion IRST systems and the short range radar systems which saturated the area around the bases were detecting various foreign attack aircraft, which were identified as bombers. Now that the planes had been detected, there would be an extremely small window where they would remain visible to radar and infrared detectors. It was now that they must be attacked. This attack would consist of one-thousand 9K40 Buk-3 LADAR-guided tactical surface-to-air missiles launched instantaneously from the two-hundred and fifty GMA-3 Bear air-defense systems. Although it was certain some would miss, it was also nearly as certain that others would serve their purpose.

Now, these bombers of the enemy did more than test the readiness, they did in fact, drop some bombs. These bombs were relatively accurate and of moderate power, and they did indeed land on the FC-0032 compound. These bombs, because of the small number of troops concentrated here, landed largely on nearly empty barracks and unused warehouses, although a pair did impact a small munitions depot, and the subsequent explosion, coupled with the other bombs detonations, caused about twenty casualties, and wounded about thirty more soldiers. However, of these soldiers some fifteen more were to wounded to continue active duty and were executed, and the others were left for themselves. As long as they can serve at maximum efficiency they were spared, anything falling below that was a liability and was terminated.

OOC: I don't know if you (Kamasha) have launched your naval attack yet, have you?

Admiral Cnossos paced like a nervous cat in a cage. He knew what was coming, but knowing didn't make it any easier. The fleet was anchored 12 miles off of the coast of the Pudu landings and settlements, and his ground forces were moving north out of the southern sector, ostensibley to meet up with the Maldorians and Kamashans.

The Emperor had contacted him and had advised him the three squadrons of Python bombers were on their way to Xeraph'n airfield. Over 200 of the best aircraft Xeraph had. And they were being escorted by Vipers and Mambas.

'Shit almighty', he thought. ' No one orders that many aircraft to one small area like this if theyr'e not gonna be used.'

He turned to his assembled commanders. " Gentlemen, in approximately six hours all hell's gonna break loose out there. Get to your commands and follow the prepared orders waiting for you. ETA of the Pythons is 1630 hours...about 5 1/2 hours from right now. Then hold onto your asses, 'cause it's gonna be a doozy...............

OOC: I've been gone for a couple days, hope the world didn't end...

Pudite Airspace above Iceland, 34th Fighter Group, Scrambled in Defense
Both active and passive Pudite radar stations had recently detected a small mass of incoming foreign aircraft, moving west from Kamashan territory. They had not yet entered Pudite airspace, they appeared to be circling, as if waiting for something...

"Damn inefficient bastards if you ask me..." was the only comment from 34th Fighter Major, a man named Protyva. In contrast to this delay by the enemy, Pudite aircraft were taking off only minutes after the radar operators contacted them. Now there were twenty F-41A multi-role fighters in the air and bound for the hovering group of foreign bombers. Following these two air wings would be the thirty further planes of the 2nd Fighter Squadron of the 34th Fighter Group. The other fifty aircraft of the 34th stationed here would remain on the ground, in a state of readiness in case of further attack.

Also on the ground, the forty-thousand soldiers manning the southern defensive line, had recently been notified of the enemy presence too, and were busy establishing defenses. GMA-3 'Bobcat' 88mm gun and missile systems were being crewed and readied, valuable supplies were being fortified, and men were preparing to take cover. Every platoon’s KPV 14.5mm heavy machine guns were mounted on their anti-aircraft mounts, and made ready to offer what support they could. Everyone else ducked into the trenches and what bunkers could have been established so far.

However, recent scouting reports have placed a significant foreign force moving north towards the trench wall, and although they were nowhere near it yet, nothing pointed to them stopping, and so readiness had to be maintained.

Not to mention the few thousand Kamashans still weathering the intense Pudite artillery bombardment, from which they would receive a slight respite as the bombers approached, while troops on the ground camouflaged the guns, both with visual camouflage, leaves, dirt, and snow, as well as with some concentrated coolant applied to the barrels, which were heated from recent use. As soon as these aircraft passed over however, the guns would nearly immediately resume their attack. The few hundred thousand pounds of high explosive the Kamashans dodged through the appliance of aircraft would be delivered again two-fold now, as they made up for lost time.

Above them, the 2nd Squadron 1st and 2nd Air Wings were now flying over, moving at roughly mach two toward the enemy planes. They would engage them immediately, flying through the un-escorted bombers while their 30mm cannons tore through the enemy, after that they would revert to missiles, firing five of their ten R-77 air-to-air missiles now, and saving the final five for anything to come.

While they were out there, they might as well, and so also being carried by these planes were five Kh-59M Ovod, which would be deployed against the Kamashan troops out there. Each would add three-hundred each to the bombardment already being laid against them.

The Emperor still had to revenge the loss of his general. He ordered all his soldiers away from the battle aria. And aproved the lunching of two missiles carring nuklear warheads. Half a houre after the two warheads were lunched one more misile were sent, sienticst had for many yeares developed the ultimat weapon. Thirty-six A-1 Python bombers crossed over into Xeraphian airspace from the southwest and continued on a north-easterly course. They had less than 17 minutes before they reached Pudite southern units, which were stretched out along a "no-man's land" just 25 miles from the northernmost Xeraphian forward positions. They were awaiting orders.........

Six minutes out from the Xeraphian-Pudite de-militarized zone, the orders came across. " All units, we have a 'GO' from HQ. The Emperor has ordered an all-out attack against the Pudite Empire in Iceland. By the time you finish hearing this message, the navy will have commenced bombardment of the Pudite settlement coastal regions and the Kamashan/Isan/Maldorian forces will have coordinated their attacks with ours. There will be heavy anti-aircraft fire from below, but fighters from the carriers will take those batteries out. All Python units are to proceed inland and drop payloads on Pudite military centers. If the Pudites are utilising Icelandic civilian sites for their supply/attack centers, then we are to obliterate them as well. The Icelandic civilians have been given enough advance warning for evacuation. Cnossos out."

The Admiral sat back with a sigh, realizing that he had just set into motion a war in which thousands would die. Turning in his chair, he said, " Captain, keep a continuous feed on the battles in the north and south. I want reports every 30 minutes on the actions of our allies in this conflict. The ground troops and armor are not to cross into Pudite territory until the bombing runs are over. I want this done quickly and deciseively. Understood?"

"Aye sir, understood."

OOC: It's spelled 'nuclear', although what you plan are biological weapons, being a virus... My Emperor's name is Pudu, not Pupu, and my people are called Pudites... Where was I godmoding? All Pudite soldiers were respirators and gas filtration devices, which would filter out the large part of the disease...

On the ground, at sea, in the air, Pudite controlled Iceland
Although all commanders of Pudite Iceland was expecting it, the sudden attack by Xerephian forces still managed to surprise a majority of the men actually on the ground. Along the trench lines in the southern tundra regions, the troops were startled to suddenly hear the screech of air raid sirens and the nearly immediate blasting of the 88mm company air-defense guns and later, the smooth rushing noise of the attached vehicles launching their anti-aircraft missiles. Nobody knew what was happening as the bombs began falling, every piece of ordinance falling specifically on the Pudite artillery. Even as they were being silenced, the Pudite guns were returning their own explosives, in the form of twenty-one pound proximity shells.

Meanwhile, behind the lines, Pudite fighters were being scrambled in defense of the front lines. One-hundred F-41B stovl aircraft were being launched from bases across southern Iceland, to be supplemented by a further fifty to be spared from the bases in FC-0032 and FC-0033. These reinforcements would arrive in less than fifteen minutes, well after the first one-hundred who could be present only minutes after being scrambled.

Also occurring in the north was the mobilization of the large Pudite fleet present in Iceland. These ships, roughly thirty five to forty to engage in combat, would move north immediately to engage the foreign fleet known to be congregating there. They would move with their light escorts, the Adari class destroyers, out in the front, supplemented by Triara class light cruisers, would take the imitate brunt of the enemy attack. Following them would be a center made up of the single Roydia class battleship, the Athios class light carrier, and three Helina class battleships. Also resting in the center of the force were the twenty small missile frigates of the fleet, which would provide an immediate blanket of missile fire above the Pudite fleet, both returning and defending from enemy fire. Skirting around the ends of the fleet were fifteen further Atlantia class destroyers and the ten Forthar class quiet attack submarines, both of whom would engage in light attack against any outside and vulnerable elements of the foreign armada.

The Pudite reaction was quick, but was it enough...

Do your soldiers always wear gas devices? Even when they sleep? That is incredible unrealistic. And like "Refusing to take losses, ever"

OOC: That is not a god mode, I know what stealth technology is, and I know that it can be countered. Also, those planes were not immediately shot down, and they did not do anything. Soldiers and supplies were destroyed, and even inflicted more casualties than usual, as it is custom in my military not to aid the wounded, but to shoot them for becoming wounded.

Also, look at the typical Pudite soldier: Guardian Infantry (http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/8914/guardiansqv7.jpg)

Yes, he does wear it all the time. They take rest in specified stasis periods, where they lie on their backs for six hours, during which time they are fed through the use of nutrient solutions injected into their body. No 'sleep' as it were.

If you shot one, he would probably die, try that next time. It’s not my fault that your troops decided to rush into firing range of my artillery and then just sit there…

Read my factbook, and stop whining. Also, stop calling it a nuclear attack, 'nuclear' implies a nuclear device, you're using gas.

Yeah, I'll ignore it as long as you’re only doing it because you didn't know that B-2 bombers aren't invisible...

Skirting around the ends of the fleet were fifteen further Atlantia class destroyers and the ten Forthar class quiet attack submarines, both of whom would engage in light attack against any outside and vulnerable elements of the foreign armada.

The Pudite reaction was quick, but was it enough...

Admiral Cnossos, Commander of the Xeraphian war machine in Iceland, was pacing like a caged panther. Reports were streamimg in and it appeared that what he had on his hands was an up and down, back and forth scenario in which first the Pudites and then the Xeraphians would gain an upper hand. Casualties were mounting on both sides, and the ground war had yet to commence.

Pudite military installations were taking a pounding from the Python bombing runs in the south and the naval bombardment of the Pudite settlements on the northern coastline. They were, however, holding their own in the air war. They had achieved a major victory when a half-dozen squadrons of Pudite fighter-jets dove out of the sun and destroyed 67% of the land-based Xeraphian Mambas before they even got off the ground. And their howitzers and MBTs were hammering away at the Xeraphian troops along the southern border whose armored units were still a day away. Kamashan, Isan, and Maldorian forces were fighting Pudite forces in pockets, but stats were scarce, as communications were iffy.

Cnossos had looked at and considered, then reconsidered, all of his options. If he were to gain the upper hand with minimal loss of life, he basically had two choices: tactical and ballistic nuclear missiles, or an appeal for a cease-fire. He knew that the Emperor was capable of the former, but had historically opted for the latter.

"Captain, get a message to Alaric and ask him if and when he wants to offer the Pudites a truce. And open all channels to the Pudite HQ."

"Aye sir."

"Attention, Pudite Military Command. This is Admiral Cnossos of the Royal Xeraphian Navy, Commander of the Xeraphian Strike Force, Iceland Campaign. This is an official notice of intent to offer a truce in this conflict. Do you copy, Pudite Military Command?"

Admiral Kraslaw was reading over a message he had recently received, sent to him from the foreigners he was fighting. Apparently they referred to themselves as 'Xereph'...

The Admiral was standing in his subterranean office, hunching every time he heard a bomb fall from above, and cursing silently whenever smaller and smaller pieces of ceiling fall from their positions to bombard him. Upon finished the communication, he let it fall onto his desk, which sat before him, and sat. Facing his aide, a Vice Admiral Elezvoi, he spoke. "Well, it seems these foreigners cannot weather even a few hours of our power, and have decided to ask for a truce..."

The Vice Admiral looked up from reading the communication, which he had grabbed as the Admiral finished it, "Certainly we cannot accept this now, it has just begun!" exclaimed Elezvoi, certain that the Dominion would not give in that easily.

Kraslaw responded, "No, no Vice Admiral, we are." The Admiral leaned forward, placing his elbows on the table, "We will agree to a cease fire. Only an hour before this report, I received a rather troubling update on the Chitzelandian situation, it seems foreign troop levels are increasing, and we may be needed..."

Elezvoi looked up in surprise, "Surely though, once we leave they will simply take the land! A cease-fire will not stop these people..."

Kraslaw spoke again, still calm in the face of his nearly frantic companion, "Now, I have no confirmed reports, merely rumors. The cease-fire will be put into effect, and you will notify the homeland. Have two further air fleets readied, if it is that we are ordered out, enemy aggression must be met with equal Pudite forces, ours or otherwise..."

Elezvoi, looking slightly better, stood, offered a quick salute, and left the room without saying anything further. Surely they would not take this cease-fire seriously, it hadn't stopped Kadova in Chitzeland, and it wouldn't stop them here... would it?

After roughly five minutes Admiral Cnossos would receive his answer, spoken in a calm, even tone by a deep Mongolian accented voice, "Foreign Commander, your cease fire is recognized. Disengage Pudite forces and you will not be molested. A cease fire is in effect. Do you speak for all those in Iceland, or are you representing only your faction?"

As the message was broadcast a similar order was sent to the Pudite fleet off the coast of Iceland, and to the various air squadrons operating above the Pudite areas of operation.

Pudite Southern Border, 2nd Fighter Squadron Airstrip, Arrival of Diplomat
The small black plane touched down on the steel-decked runway, rolling to a slow stop in front of a small building surrounded by sandbags and craters. The hatch behind the wing opened up, and a single man leapt to the ground. He was wearing a flowing grey trench coat, grey pants, a simple grey shirt, and carrying a small black briefcase.

He strode across the ground, walking directly past the officers sent to meet him, and made his way toward the front lines he observed from the airplane. The officers fell in behind him, doing their best to keep up to his long stride without running, "Sir, sir, I have a briefing on the situation here..." one got out as he struggled not to fall as they crossed a small crater. He extended the paper toward the Pudite diplomat, but it was ignored, "I have my own." Grey responded in a smooth, perfect voice, with no hint of the accent present in the voices of all others. The other officers made similar offers, all were refused. It became apparent that Grey already knew everything he intended to know, and by the time he entered the small wood that concealed the Pudite rear trenches all the other officers had dropped out of step and were making their way back to the rear command posts.

Mr. Grey himself continued with his excited pace through the further three lines of trenches and foxholes, seemingly ignorant of the incessant snowing that had most other Pudite soldiers low in the trenches. He walked all the way to the very forward of the line and looked out over the small plateau before him; scanning the horizon for the emplacement he was to meet these foreigners in.

Col. Thorne watched the descent of the unmarked plane, then barked an order. "Shadows! Let's move! On the double!" The six Shadow Legion troopers scrambled into position and followed Thorne out into the wintry cold. They were headed for a small shack out near the base of the glacier. The shack was dead center between the front lines of both the Pudites and the Xeraphians. Only a quarter of a mile seperated the two dug-in fighting forces.

The troopers were armed with standard weaponry. AK47IIa rifles, Glock 9mm sidearms, and their traditional katana short-swords. As commander of the detail, Thorne carried his sword in his left hand, unsheathed. He had changed from his battle fatigues to the slightly more formal battle-dress uniform, dark grey with the left arm encased in black leather.

He looked up and saw several jets do a fly-by. Xeraphian or Pudite, he couldn't tell. But he was sure that both nations had their fighters up and ready for any contingency.

Thorne and his detail stopped 40 feet short of the shack, awaiting the Pudite representative. He stood there, arms crossed, ebony skin and shaved head glistening in the early morning light. "Fan out, gentlemen. I wouldn't want to croed our visitor."

The team formed an arc around the Colonel, twenty paces apart, and waited.........

Mr. Grey now pushed the map across the table to the foreign commander, nudging his case out of the way as he did so. Mr. Grey paused for a moment, leaning slightly forward as he held his hand to his temple... After a second of this, in complete silence, Mr. Grey laid his briefcase down on the small table between the diplomats, opening it; he produced a small map of the island...

"Sir, it has been agreed between the nations of the Dominion of Emperor Pudu, and that of Xeraph, that there shall be peace on the island known as Iceland, and elsewhere. You agree to these terms."

Mr. Grey now pushed the map across the table to the foreign commander, nudging his case out of the way as he did so. It closed by itself as the Pudite began to speak again, "It has been proposed to us by the Maldorian government that the island be partitioned between our three selves as such, with yourself occupying the southern piece of land you occupy now, myself claiming the tracts laid out, and themselves gaining control of what is left."

Thorne looked briefly at the revised map. "Mr. Grey, this map obviously gives Xeraph land currently claimed by another nation. While we have no objections to expanding our territory, we will not do it illegally. If the Kamashans wish to depart the island, then we will be happy to occupy their claim. Until that is cleared up, we will continue to recognize their existence on Iceland. Other than that.........may peace reign between our nations." Thorne gave a slight bow to the enigmatic Mr. Grey.

Pudite Western Border, Orthae Infantry Divisions, Eradication of Isan Iceland
General Lukin was the officer in charge of the 5th Orthae Division stationed on the upper western section of trench on Pudite Iceland, and earlier this day he had received a single order from his commanders in FC-0032, that order was as follows...

"Eradicate the Isan trespassers, claim the land for the Emperor"

Although the General was not surprised by the simple order, he was surprised by its timing. All he had were roughly half of his Divisional strength, plus roughly seven hundred tanks.

This, however, would not stop him. Only hours after the Dominion had negotiated a simple peace with the rest of the island, twelve-thousand heavily armored elite Pudite Orthae rose, as one, from their trenches and advanced, in perfect step, over the border and into Isan territory. Following them were seven-hundred and fifty-six advanced Mekhev II main battle tanks, followed by a thousand equally as intimidating silhouettes of the SIV-25 armored personnel carriers.

As these soldiers began their long march, overhead screamed four-hundred Strakhen Sokol air-superiority fighters, escorting along their way, fifteen Barsuk strike bombers, each carrying over thirty-thousand pounds of explosive charges toward the Isan naval base in northern Iceland at a speed of mach two-point-five. They raced ahead of the ground column even as another wave of Pudite aircraft readied themselves far behind Pudite lines in the northern bases of FC-0032 and FC-0033. From there would launch another three-hundred Strakhen Sokol aircraft, escorting fifty Coldun ground attack and electronics warfare planes. This second wave, in addition to dropping over fifteen thousand pounds of explosive each, these planes would be able to completely cut off Isan communications, radar use, and GPS signals, and making it nearly impossible for their ground defense units to respond to the air threat posed by their more formidably armed counterparts, not to mention removing any possibility of coordinating any advanced artillery or missile bombardments...

The Dominion was again marching to war, and nothing now could stop them from achieving their goals here...

Mr. Grey pulled the document back across the table from the foreign officer and placed it back in his case, "Well, as long as the borders of the Dominion, and the peace of this agreement are respected by your nation, we will leave that matter up to you."

Mr. Grey closed the briefcase and, before he turned away from the table he looked to his foreign counterpart and asked in his slow, nearly mechanical voice... "What is Iceland worth?"

Thorne glanced first at the sun setting over the glacier, then over to Grey. "To Empires such as yours and mine, this speck of ice is worth nothing more than the opportunity to remind ourselves that we exist, that we're a viable, thriving entity dedicated to the preservation of the premise that illusion itself is illusory, and that we hold life in our hands.....every minute of every day, to do with it as we please. Good day to you sir." Thorne once again snapped to attention, saluted the Pudite, turned on his heel and traced his way back to the Xeraphian basecamp......................

Pudite Western Border, Orthae Infantry Divisions, Eradication of Isan Iceland
Even as the Orthae began their march, the hostile soldiers fled before them... In only hours all of Isan Iceland was evacuated for the fear of Dominion military conquest.

General Lukin was now riding in the turret of his personal Mekhev II command tank, riding at the head of the Pudite infantry column into the small town of Husavik at the far edge of Dominion territory. Marching along side his armored unit were four-thousand Pudite Orthae, their thick dark green armor plates seemingly absorbing what light remained of the day, shrouding the forces in near complete darkness save for the two glowing red points that were their eyes...

The General raised his fist as the tanks pulled into the center of the town, causing quite a commotion as the villagers, having never seen something like this before, approached the armored vehicles with intense, cautious, curiosity.

Packs approached, moving closer, wanting to touch and explore these new creations. One villager, a particularly brave man moved close enough to touch the tank itself... As he approached there was a deafening roar as a proximity explosive detonated, firing a grout of flame, as well as an entire armor plate itself into the man's face, killing him instantly. He fell to the ground, chest caved in and the head folded over onto his body, neck snapped.

All at once, in perfect unison, every one of the four thousand Orthae in the village opened fire on the surrounding crowds... Assault rifle fire filled the air as the dark armored killing machines shot indiscriminately into the crowds, killing hundreds in minutes. Numerous heavy machine guns opened up, screams of the innocent cut short by the conquest of the victor…

When the slaughter had ended, there was nothing left. Many buildings were damaged by heavy machine gun fire and grenade rounds, and the entire village was cut down in the square.

All across the now Pudite Iceland the same situations were playing out as the entire native population of northern Iceland was cleansed to make way for the new, Pudite, inhabitants of the island...
