In a remote port, the grand sailing ship the S.S. Tempest was going to set sail, for many desitnations. People in search of wealth, and gold, others in search of fertile farm land. Some are just in need of a new life. The rich and the poor have come together, to sail to distant lands, to live, or to work.

Captian James P. McPeterson, was the proud captian, with his young daughter Liza, we're appearing before the press.

"This is your first public journy, are you nervous?" the reporter asked.

"Not at all. I know I've always given private voyages, but I think it's time before I retire to give one public." The press scribbled the words of the captain.

"Are you nervous, I mean you are leaving during hurricane season."

"I know we are departing late, but the ship wasn't ready for the large ammount of people, we will be taking. Me and my little Liza are ready."

He lifted his small girl to his shoulders. She gave a wave.

"Would you like a picture sir?"

"By all means, I'm intrested to finally see what I look like in a photograph."

The newly invented camera snapped.

The sails unfolided, the ship stood in the mighty sun, at dock. "All passangers pelease come this way have your ticket ready." The officers coaxed people to them.

Ralph Finnierd, his wife Brooke, their four kids Ralph Jr. (16) Emmaline, (14) Joshua (11) and Mia (10) all boarded for 3rd Class. They we're going in search of new farm land, for a new life. Their other farm wen't under.

"Yes we've been through the inspection." He said to a officer.

They came into their tiny cabin. It was small a few feet in diameter, with two sets of beds. A single lantern hung, and one porthole looked out. Ralph and Brooke had to duck to avoid it.

Emmaline called out "I get top!"

The kids all claimed their beds.

Brooke set their bags aside. She looked about nervous.

"Don't be so nervous sweetheart."

"I just hate to sail that's all. That's why I married a farmer."

"Ah don't worry babe. These are some of the finest ships on the sea. It can weather anything."

"Sure hope so. Kids becareful up there."

ooc: Any objections to a thief/murderer/general scoundrel/ne'er-do-well type?
Also what level PT(US civil war, revolution, Colombus, earlier still)?

ooc: my main nation Kirisubo has a past tech element to it.

if we share the same ocean its possible to run into an Inperial Kirisuban patrol ship or a merchant ship.

Kirisubo is 100 miles due east of japan and is a group of 4 major islands.

Photography was mentiond, and unless this is PT-Punk I'm sure it would be about mid 1800's. So yes civil war era.

Sure I wouldn't mind your character(s) Theao. And Kurona is right, it's about mid 1800's.

ooc: so lets say 1860 for convenience and if these people are looking for new land in the pacific they'll probally run into Kirisubo first.

unlike Japan they're fully open to the world, are heavilly industrialised and have a maintain their own customs such as the samurai class, a divine emperor and a shogun who rules in the emperors name but sometimes the emperor or empress is a co-ruler.

its a constitutional monarchy with a parliment and they have a strong army and navy.

the flag is a red sun on a black field and the naval ensign has a gold anchor in the middle of the sun.

what if the ship got attacked by pirates and the kirisuban navy came to the rescue?

The old man...let's call him Alex...walked up the gangplank onto the mighty ship. He was completely concealed underneath his black robe, and kept his hood up so as to hide his face. He leaned upon his wooden cane and boarded the vessel.

Beneath his hood, "Alex" smiled. He could be free now. Then he fell over painfully on his back.

EDIT OOC: If no one caught that, I thought helping a strange old man who had fallen and unable to get up would be a good way to start character interaction.

OOC may like to have a go is it ok rp a army colonel getting sent to the new land

Kayle McNight was bound for new lands her self. She was a wealthy prominte girl from a well to do family. But her father took her business elsewhere, and she stayed behind in the quaint country mansion with only the house staff to keep her company. She missed her father and mother, and now civil unrest was brewing. (Not E.S. is not established yet, so I'll say I'm on my way to Kanami) She presented her first class ticket, and boarded. She had a very nice spacious and luxurious cabin. A comfort Sofa was in the middle even. She bent down and saw it bolted. "Now that's clever." She put her bag in the closet, and lied down on the bed. Her sundress ruffled. "I think I'll go explor and watch us take off." She said to her self.

(note: I wouldn't mind falling in love with some one. But I would want kind of a chomical way of meeting. Ask me for details)

Tom Hutch was a shy, ordinary young man. He had fled his cruel family and began to work in the stables. That was six years before, and up to now he had barely earned enough to get a third class ticket. His Master took pity on him, however, and gave him enough for a second class ticket. He packed his luggage, raced through the streets, made it just as the anouncement was made to give tickets and board. As he walked up the gangplank, he saw an old man in pain. He helped the man up the gangplank onto the ship, unknowing of the impact this man and this voyage would have on him.

"Thank...you, you-young man," said the robed figure with an almost inhumanely rhaspy voice, "Thank you." He turned away from the boy and walked up the rest of the gangplank. He went off in the direction of the second-class quarters.

A man in his early twenties stepped onboard, his left eye covered by a patch, offering his ticket to an officer. As he did, he smiled. If they only realized who he was they'd have never allowed on the ship. He'd been named after Dismas, the patron saint of thieves, which had turned out to be only too apt, thought unlike his namesake, he was most definately not a 'Good Thief'.

Dismas Titus Orllius was wanted for crimes ranging the entire scale, from treason and murder to counterfitting and pickpocketing and everything between. His distinctive eyes was the reason for the eyepatch as in his left eye, the iris was absent while his right eye was violet.

With a smirk he noticed a pitiful old man who'd fallen as he strode past, his black redingote swirling by as his baggage was brought to his room, a perk granted to those with sufficiant wealth, and he was most certainly wealthy.

ooc: Just wondering, will this be a mostly sea based RP? PT Kazecistan would be a good destination, should you wish to make shore any time soon, but they never left sight of land in their ships, which, concequentally, were more of boats than ships. They're also unlikely to have left kazeci boarders, so they wouldn't be aboard the tempast. Anyway, I'd like to join.

EDIT: 1860 tech is a good ways beyond PT Kazecistan's 'ancient' feel, which could make for an even more interesting RP.

Tom shouted back to the old man,"You're welcome!" but he was quickly drowned out by the bustling onboard the ship as people found their rooms. Tom headed towards his cabin, staying at the door to watch the different people getting on board. He thought about home for a moment, but quickly stopped when a saw a beatiful young lady. Unfortunately for Tom, his door opened behind him, and he fell to the ground inside his room. He was red in the face for hours.:headbang:

At long last the ship set sail. Off into the sunset, and through the night. But it wasn't long, a mere few days, that they we're already encountering their first storm. Lightning streaked through the black sky, and large waves crashed down. In the bridge little Liza was hardly scared. She saild so many times with her father, she was used to the storms. She even had fun, sliding around as the ship rocked. But she did ocasionally slip right into the wall. "Ouch."

"Liza, come by me."

She stood and gripped the leg of her father.

"Is it a big one daddy?"

"Well I've seen worse, we'll be okay. Nothing to worry about."

The storm truly came swift and with a vengince. In their tiny cabin, the family was mildly timid. However both Brooke and Emmaline we're badly frightend. Emmaline clung to her mother, and jumped everytime the thunder crashed.

"Nothing to worry about honey."

"How would you know?"

"I do." Thunder again.

He couldn't do anything more to really comfort her. They we're going to ride out this storm one way or another. But Ralph has been through a lot worse.

Kayle undressed, with the heavy heat. Mostly frome nerves, with the storm. She was half-dressed, and trying to relax. She sat and stood at random intervals, looking out at the stormy seas, and sky.

Sasha was 14, and alone. The storm was frightning her badly. How she very much wanted her mother. But she had to leave. She knew she would see her again, but she wasn't sure. Civil War broke out in her country, and she was amidst a few fleeing refugees. Thunder crashed loudly, as she cowerd under her covers.

Tom was flailing around on deck, trying to stay on his feet. He reached out for something to hang onto, however he realized too late that it was a doorknob. Tom fell into the room, wet and disoriented. Suddenly, he realized he was in the room with the young lady he had seen this morning...and she was only half dressed. After lots of screaming, slipping, and shoving, Tom finally got out of the room and closed the door. Then, deciding there was no better way, he lay down on his back and slid back to his cabin. When he got back, he hit his head on the wall many times, shouting, "Stupid clumsy oaf!" :headbang:

The man fell in suddenly. Kayle was a little shocked by this, she had been seen half-naked by a stange man. But before she could say anything and calm down, he ran out. She peered outside, but didn't see him.

"Odd. Very odd."
