With the war against the Confederacy currently taking place on the other side of the world, Griffincrest decided it would go back to smacking around little guys and taking their things. Claudius was reading over a few papers when he called in his aide.

"Cornelius, have you ever heard of this place...Kamasha?"
"Nope, they got oil?"
"Lots"
"I'll call the mercenaries"

Within the hour, 120,000 mercenaries were pulled off of their jobs on the beach (bear in mind there are many thousands more there) and assembled to go out to Kamasha. A piece of the Griffincrest navy was also pulled away. 10 Chieftains were going to be sent in to provide support for the transports, and an beaten up, rusty Nimitz class carrier was stocked up full of Gnats and F-4's, and soon, they were all happily on their way to yet another hapless victim.

The people of Kamasha was for the most part a friendly people. They went to
work, came home ate dinner and went to bed. I was as if the world problems somehow didnt concern the people of Kamasha. War was something that only happened to poor countries like Africa. Unfortunately that is not always true. After Kamasha found large oil fields in the 1960' more and more countries had been watching watching the growing wealth and prosperity of Kamasha. The government had therefore spent many thousand billion dollars in a new and modern Army. One of the worlds most high technological military airports was actually located in Reykjavik. Hopefully would the soldiers of Kamasha never have to fight but you never know.

It was not long before the Griffincrest Stealth Ships appeared of the Kamashan coast. Two ships sat just within Kamashan borders, waiting fot the perfect time to strike. In the pitch black, coupled with the storm brewing, it would be very difficult to find these ships. The captains ordered their ships to fire. In minutes, 10 Tomahawk missiles, 5 from each ship, went blasting into the night sky. Their target, Rekjavik Air Base, the apparent center of power for the Kamashan military.

The rest of the mercenaries would be here soon...

people screaming, crying and dying all over rekjavik military airbase. A total chaos broke out as the missiles fell down. The counter measures had been activated as soon as the missiles appeared on sonar (radar?), but after the impact of the third tomahawk most men fled there post. Luckily the new fully automatically anti aircraft systems were able to shout down 5 of the launched missiles.

"Damage report shows low damage on the facility as a whole mostly civilians targets were hit. But the power generator were crippled and the barracks as well as the mess hall is pitch dark" one of the younger officers told the old general as he rushed to the war room.

"Doesn't Mather, this was only to test our defenses and our will to fight" the General replied as he entered the war room. A room so well protected that it would withstand a nuclear attack.

"You get the soldiers back at there post, you alert the Emperor, you send some search plains up in the air to find those ships" With these short orders he efficiently emptied the room.

"tell me now who did this why and how should we react"?

"Well sir, we don't know who or why but the missiles was launched by one or more ships outside the cost of kamsha. You have already ordered the the search plains to take off, if they find the ships we will strike them until kingdom come. If we don't find them this is the storm of the century coming tonight. If they don't sail for port even the strongest battleship will be teared to pieces. Anyhow we will find half dead sailors on the beaches of Kamasha tomorrow morning" Smiling as he said that last sentence.

"Good send the army to every single place you might suspect those ships might seek shelter during the storm".

The two ships sped out of Kamashan territory as soon as they fired, but not before issuing one last 10 missile volley. Now, the rest of the fleet was steaming on through the storm to land before things got too rough. The Chieftains were now readying to issue out their own shelling of major Kamashan cities as the storm blew in. The 4, 6, and 8 inch railguns were all being loaded, and trained on the Kamashan coastal defenses. In minutes, they would be braving the storm and pounding away.

The men aboard the transports buckled down as water came aboard their ships, and aboard the old carrier, crews refused to take off, due to the storm blowing by.

BOOM!! The huge thunderous explosions from all 12 battleships was deafening as they all fired at once upon coastal defenses. The transports sped to shore. The first one hit the beach, and unloaded its cargo of 100 men,w ho quickly went about securing the area.

Behind them, hundred more were preparing to unload, and press inland to capture the capitol at Reykjavik. But first they needed the nearest port city to have their ships sit out the storm.

the main airport in Kamasha was damaged but still operational. The damages could easily be fixed. But not in this weather constant power failure made further planing of the attack pointless. In a pitch dark room sat on happy officer. Despite the fact that his pride, the military airbase of reykjavik had been damaged he was smiling all over his face. They had survived the first attack of there unknown enemy and (most) men was still willing to fight. But this was not the reason he smiled. He had gotten reports from the army that no ships was hiding close to the island and Air images showing the sea showed waves 15-20 meter high. Those sailors were already fighting for his life. And he was sitting in his favorite chair drinking a cup of tea relaxing.

The Emperor had been moved to a place unknown to the outside world form her he could continue commanding the officers but remain hidden from his enemies. He knew weary well that if he or his family was captured the nation would be subdued.

The ground troops had landed about a mile east of Vik. Now, about 2,000 of the mercenaries had landed, and were pressing onto the city. The Chieftains and other ships were also steaming for the city as well. They knew they would need shelter fromt this storm. Should the assault on Vik fail, the enitre operation would be a huge failure.

The whole city of vik was one big battle zone after the first was shown on sonar outside Vik all men had drawn weapons. children and old was loaded into the huge catacombs under the city . The Artillery would not stop shooting before every single shell was emptied and they had supplies for 2 month of fighting. Men was sent out to dig trenches to the east of Vik. Everyone knew that the attack could not last long in this weather. The wind neared the strength of an orkan and the rain was freezing cold. The trench digging was a fight against time. Even if they were well dressed they would die from freezing if they could not rest inside one of the worm cars occasionally. After hours of hard work 5000 men armed to there teeth sat inside there worm cosy buses locking out at the storm trying to imagine how hard the enemy struggle towards Vik fighting both rain and a constant artillery fire. Luckily for the enemy the strong winds made flying imposible making the whole air force of Kamasha immobile.

The port of Reykjavik was filed with war ships waiting out the storm. The Marines were getting losing pation quick. As long as the storm was raging there were no reason for them to leave port. Only if someone were stupid enough to enter the port of Reykjavik they could fight.

As the Chieftains came up to just outside the city, they tore open once again, ending hundreds of shells slamming into the city. At the same time, the ground forces, packed into their Mercury's, began speeding up as they saw the Kamashans digging in.

when the enemy had arrived at a distance about 300 meters fifty shells was unleashed. The fifty tanks reached max speed trying to Ram the oncoming enemy. With there 62 000 kg and top speed of 72 km/h they would smash there enemies. At 100 meter range they shoot again before they finally meet the enemies Mercury's in one big boom. Creating a wall of burning Tanks and cars between the attackers and defenders. Those few Tanks that had survived the blast now fired a last shell into the Blackhelm Confederacys lines before before rushing back to support the men fighting in the cold wet trenches.

The city of Vik was now a ghost town. The million man city had been evacuated. Those able to fight that was left in the city were busy dodging different blast coming from the hundreds of shells lunched into the city. They were preparing for the retreat of the men in the trenches. By such a superior enemy they could only hope to delete them with there Terence's. The soldiers would retreat to the city and fight in small streets and buildings. Big parts of the city had now been filled with different mines prepared to make even a walk through the city a living hell. They had left a few roads open so that the retreating soldiers could enter, but soon after there arrival those roads would be a mine field too.

OOC: Hell, if you wanna crash Leopards into my AFV's, thats your own deal.

IC: The Mercury's began pumping away with their 30mm AP shells, destroying a number of the oncoming Leopards, while infantry supported them by openeing up with their Javelins, destroying even more. Still, 7 Mercury's were hit and destroyed. The rest gunned it towards the trenches, pounding away with their turret, as well as all 3 machine guns aboard, and the frag grenade launcher. Each one was capabale of raining death on a whole battalion, and that they would do. Behind them, Griffincrest mortar fire came into play, raining nearly 300 80mm and 102mm shells down on Kamashan defenders.

At Vik, the first smaller craft came into the port, sweeping for sea mines and hidden ships, and destroying the threat as they came. The rest of the fleet came in after, seeking refuge from the storm, all the while raining a vicious shelling down on the men in the trences, who were now being hit from the front and rear.

Inside the city of vik the soildiers started rushing to the port. Many rocket launcher had already been brought to the port to await the coming navy. More of the M19 SSM's were brought with the reinforces. As soon as the smaller ships came in range the soildiers started shooting. Hoping to sink at least some of the smaller ships. It was crusiale to halt the larger ships entering the port.

In the trenches the situation was awful. The men had seen there fifty leopard tanks rushing towards the enemy lines. Only to be crushed by there firepower. "What ever, against this type of firepower we wont need tanks. We need a bunch of brave men and explosives" the sergeant grinned. "Come on fuc***ers lets get them" Fifty men followed the sergeant toward the burning tanks. Hiding behind the tanks would offer them more protection then the trenches anyway.

occ: The storm of the century is here you think you can launch shells towards the trenches a mile away and hit?
also I've just maid a wall of fifty leopards and seven Mercury's all burning. How do you think you can reach the trenches while my men is hiding between them carrying explosives as well as ordinary guns?

OOC: I did not say they were hitting accuratly, I said I fired them, and the railgun speed will make them incredibly fast and hit your troops within seconds of firing, decreasing the chances of wind blowing them off course. As for the trenches, this is how..

IC: The Mercury's sped towards the flaming hulks, pounding into them with their cannons, for the most part blowing them away, as the Javelin fire from the rear assisted them in this manuever. Others simply went around the fiery tank line, now flanking the Kamashan trenches, and pouring lead into them, as they let loose the infantry they contained. The infantry added to the death thrown at the Kamashan troops, as now a massive amount of bullets was slamming into enemy lines.

In the port, the Chieftains numerous anti-missile systems came into play, which managed to mostly defend the fleet. First, CIWS and Firestorm missiles took out a majority of the missiles fired. Next, the DAC system launched, firing of decoys, distracting the enemies weapons, and finally the AMCCG's were loosed, destroying te rest. Unfortunatly, the old carrier was not as well defended. It caught two missiles in its port side. Being the old ship that it was, it did not respond well to them. It began to list heavily. Two Gnats, and a handful of men slid from the deck, into the frigid, stormy waters below, never to be seen again. Unless the city was taken and an effective port was set up soon, the carrier would sink.

under the port there had been dug a underwater tunnel. Since the whole complex was built under the sea bottom it could not be detected by underwater sonar or cameras. fifteen small torpedo hatches placed at different spots around the whole port was all that could tell of the underground danger. Since the bottom was covered with old shipwrecks from both the first and second world war these hatches would be impossible to see. As the soldiers at land lunched there second wave of rockets toward the ships all fifteen torpedoes hatches opened and fired. They were closed and reloaded. At the same time the submarine "blue water danger" who had been hiding at the far corner of the port (quiet and submerged) started shooting her torpedoes.

In the trenches the men now started using anti-tank weapons. Shooting at all the enemies mercury's. Other men were starting the in-threshes fighting. Between the Burning tanks the sergeant and his men were taking casualties. Still they all carried explosives to use on the oncoming vehicles.

OCC: How many man did you bring with you? and how many are left? how many vehicles and how many and which ships? can you calculate how much money you have used in this first day of fighting? OOC: He buys most of his equipment from me so trust me, those Gnats, guns, mortars, etc. are cheap and easily replaceable. Hell, during another war I threw in a ton of free aid to him.

IC: Mafia satellites hung in the sky watching the carnage, they were members of a special group tasked with reviewing tactics of their clients and their own weapon's performances. It was a good show, the suicide move by the Leopards was stupid as the wrecks just kept the infantry from being useful but made they sitting ducks for mortars and the Mercury vehicles could easily flank the wall or smash through it.

Still a note was made to equip all tanks with an angled plow in the front for future operations to clear paths.

Meanwhile the storm tossed the carrier around and a note was made to start offering light carriers for V/STOL aircraft in the new storefront.

The head scientist felt he and his team would soon be swimming in a nice bonus. The head economist was quickly tallying up the damage and it seemed that so far the cost of the last Leopard 2 strike would average around 190 million USD for the loss in trained men and equipment, while the loss of the Mercuries was estimated at 10.2 million in trained men and equipment if each Mercury was totally loaded. The economist paraded around with his numbers and gave them to the head scientist.

Current Estimated Loss to Kamasha: $900 million in infrastructure, personnel, and vehicles.
Current Estimated Loss to GC: $85 million in ships, personnel and vehicles.

1) I was hoping to destroy more of the mercury's
2) If the suicide mission had stopped the advancing troops for a wile I could use that time to re group.
3) The Leopards was old and was about to be thrashed anyway so I was not especially interested in keeping them.
4) Finally I figured that the whole suicide mission was such creasy idea that it was worth doing it just to see if it worked.

The guardian turrets underneath the Chieftains opened up on the incoming torpedoes, preventing the ships from taking damage. Only 15 torpedoes would barely even make it out of their hatches, as all the Guardian turrets blasted them apart. The rocket attack finally damaged a battleship, knocking a hole in its starboard side and disabling one of its guns, but still, countermeasures were in place, and the place from which the rockets were fired from was being shelled. The crews were careful, however, not to do extensive damage to the port.

Outside the city, the trenches were now flanked by the Mercury's, while hundreds of infantry with Mercury support blew apart the trenches from the front, and mortar shell rained down. A number of Mercury's, and about 70 men were lost, but still, they pressed onwards.

The troops in the trenches were pressed hard. But they did not surrender none of them were about to die in a cold thresh away from home. Again and again they had repelled there enemies in breaching through the defenses. But they were running low on ammunition and personnel. They would not survive for much longer. Still Anti-Tank missiles flew through the air hitting the many Mercury's that seemed to swarm all over the defenders. As the attackers pushed forward once again they created a small hole in the defensive ranks allowing them to land troops into the trenches. There Mercury's flanked the Trenchers and the defending soldiers were now being shot at from all angels. The CO had all ready given order of retreat when salvation came. Behind enemy lines 100 of the T-84 Oplot tank came driving. From the inland side of the battle field more then 75 T-84 Yatagan came driving as well. They had hurried out from the city of Hofn hidden by the storm and were now attacking the enemies both from the flank as well as behind. Even worse was that the reinforcements from Vik came some two-three minutes after reinforcements from Hofn. Carrying 25 of the
M60A3 main battle tank. Behind the T-84s there now appeared 10 buses (no armor, ordinary buses taken from the Kamashas Bus company) carrying 30 men each. ยจ

"Finally reinforcements! Why didn't they show up before? Had they arrived in time many hundreds of men could have been saved" one of the infanterist asked his sergeant.
"he he don't complain. They Have been driving from Hofn. It must have been a nightmare to make sure no one detected them on radar. They have probably left Hofn many hours ago driving with a great distance between them. Not gathering before right outside our line of sight. They are all equipped with Jamming Devices to block the enemies radar. The others would not have known what was going to hit them before they saw the Tanks appearing right before there eyes."

The new soldiers ran out of the buses starting shooting at random enemy soldiers. The New Tanks had started shooting right before they left there hiding place. And were still aiming for enemy targets. The buses were trying to drive around the trenchers to bring the wounded soldiers back to Vik.

Inside the port the Soldiers now had made the Carrier there main objective. They were continuous concentrating there fire towards the Carrier. Still They watched out fore them selves. As long as they were alive none of the ships would be able to dock. If they tried they would only end up with a bunch of handgranates on there deck as well as rapid fire toward anyone still doing visible moving.

"Do you see that mixing of units?"

"Must be a logistics nightmare..."

"Their quartermasters must be madmen!"\

"Pipe down, they are turning on the LASER microphones to get a sound..."

The sound of explosions and muffled voices fills the room and soon so do cheers and applause, several lower ranking officiers appear with refreshments and sit down in hastily prepared benches to watch.

"See those buses? We have been selling our Battlebus for years yet no one takes it? Maybe we should start using the city buses Port Santos scrapped two years ago."

"Recommendation noted, I'll send that up to command."

"OOOO! That 30mm cut that guy in half, see, he went from one thermal dot to two thermal dots when that beam cut thorugh him." Gesturing wildly at the thermal viewscreen.

"Hey guys the satellite feed on multiband has been fixed, we will get false color feeds through the storm in a few seconds!"

"Awesome, I want to see!"

Groans filled the room as they saw how the Griffencrest Fleet floundered in the storm.

"We need to start selling those old Nimitz that end up at scrapyards, and build our own aircraft carriers, top bosses are calling it Enterprise right?"

"Like that fuckin' elf-eared guy on TV?"

"Yeah."

"Well lets see, unguided rockets, from thermal signatures they appear to be around 122 to 271, though the autoidentifyer lists them at BM-21 rockets."

"That thing is fucked up, besides, unguided rockets have little chance of hitting a heaving ship in a storm unless there are hundreds of them."

"Bullshit, a good operator like me could put one down a chimney if given more than 20 seconds on my TI-83+ Graphing Calculator"

"And what makes you think that they have good operators..."

Popcorn kernels began to fly across the room for a few seconds and calmed down. The HVD drives hummed and glowed quietly as they recorded the action.

Within an hour a satellite at a 20 degree angle would be in range to view the battle from the western side and give some depth to the top looking satellites already in place.

OOC: I'm hoping that 30mm was on a Mercury

The rockets were, if not shot down by the CIWS and other anti-missile systems, damn near ineffective, causing only minor dents on the armor. ( I thought your were using anti-ship missiles) The fleet decided enough was enough, they were safe enough in the harbor, the port could be rebuild. A full cannon/missile barrage was authorized, and in minutes, every piece of ordnance on the battleships went off. The port, as well as a large portion of the city was leveled. Chances of survival were slim. Now, the bombardment of the Kamashans would resume.

On the ground, the ambush was taking its toll on the mercenaries, but the old tanks were getting a beating from both the AP shells the Mercury's spat out, and the Javelins launched by the infantry. The Mercury's were now beginning to go behind the trenches, as well as blast down both flanks, the tremendous amount of fire they spat out cutting down Kamashan forces left and right. The buses were quickly targeted by Javelin troops, and blown to hell. Behind the mercenaries, mortars contiued to fire, still raining hell into the trenches.

Casualties at this point

The tanks arriving behind the enemy continued to press while the Tanks appearing behind the trenches supported the infantry. The Tanks on the flanks were blasting through the Merkury's busy fighting the soldiers in the trenches. They hoped to completely surround there enemies and blasting them to pieces from all angels. Only two buses survived the Attack of the Javelin troops and got around the fighting. Loading up with the men unable to fight they now drove towards Vik at full speed.

In the ports the soldiers were nearly wiped out. The destruction of the port were something they had considered themselves. Now when they no longer had the safety of the port to keep in mind they could whiteout problems order all artillery equipment inside shooting range to start firing. Even if rebuilding the port would be extremely costly this meant that no ship would be able to dock her and the hostile ships would have to fight again in another port where the navy was at present and not far away. As soon as the few ground Troops still able to move had reached safety many many shells were fired from artillery installations around the city it selves. The shells pored down everywhere in the harbour completely destroying what was left of the port. The Destruction would cost Kamasha millions but the shelling would not stop before the enemy fleet were ether sunk or decided to leave the port and fight against the stormy sea.

The only artillery I have now is the one blasting away everything that is located near and/or in the harbour. Those are placed at random places around (inside) the city. I retreated from the harbour and yes the CO had given order to retreat from the trenches but these orders were canceled by the arrival of the reinforcements. May casualties are way to great to continue this type of war. Estimated there are 2500 men left in the trenches (you killed 2000 with your constant bombardment of my defenses. 10 of my leopards survived the suicide attack and 4 are still fighting. The T-84 Oplot's (behind your lines) are taking damages but still 85 are intact. The T-84 Yatagan have only lost 8 tanks and all the M60A3 main battle tank are working.

In the port only twenty five men survived out of 300. My artillery there consists of 51mm Light Mortar's carried by soldiers that was away from the port when you destroyed it. I have L108 and L109 105mm light gun as well as the AS90 braveheart 155mm. These were meant to shoot upon your when you tried to enter the city but they have better use her. All the above except the
light Mortar's are specially constructed for railway speed firing. Also I have some anti-aircraft/missiles weaponry placed around the city.

Interesting. Here goes the breakthrough.

IC: The Mercury's that got behind the trenches did not stay there and fire on the men in the trenches. They instead sped into the city, to ravage the artillery crews and any surviving ground troops. The infantry focused their Javelins and continued blasting away, shattering dozens of enemy vehicles, while others poured into the Kamashan trenches, and fierce hand to hand fighting broke out. The Griffincrest officers, from Lieutenant up, all clearly had the upper hand in this melee, as all of them carried Leafanistani made Katanas, which were slicing and dicing the Kamashans and proving far better than whatever knives or bayonets the opposition would wield.

The Chieftains took a number of hits, but remained afloat. One was badly damaged and water poured in, but the crew began pumping out the water, trying to save the ship. They in turn, counter bombarded, sending hundreds of shells flying back towards the Kamashan artillery.

The men in the M60A3 main battle tank's could not believe there eyes. They had heard about the leopards suicide attack but why would the mercury's retaliate in the same way? Anyway they started firing at the forward storming vehicles. They took a deep breath when the impact should have occurred. They were mighty surprised when the Merury's just passed them. They turned around and chased them.

Handgranates flew out over all the men storming the trenches. Each one crippeling two-three men. What left of the trenches was now covered by half dead bodies. Men unable to move would freeze to death in this cold storm. The all ready soaked trenches was now rapidly filling with water threatening to drown all that was left on the ground engaged in hand-to-hand fights. Now that the enemy had come at this close range all mortars and Javelins firing at ground troops was destined to be friendly fire. It was first at left side (away from the sea) the breakthrou came. At this side of the trenches the fighting had been extra hard. Mortars had crouched most of the trenches and the defending soldiers had been extra few in this aria because the generals believed the breakthrou would come nearer the middle. The Breakthrough meant that all soldiers on the inland side of the trench were relocated to the sea side of the breakthrough point. The inland flank was now mainly protected by tank. Many of the tanks behind the enemy now turned to the mortars. Hoping to destroy so many of them as possible before they reached the city.

The Artillery continuous bombardment of the port now started to pay of. The desperate situation of the Battleships was a major boost to the entire force fighting around the docks. The ice cold water poring into the ships would kill a man in under a minute. The temperature at this time of year would be between 2 or 3 degrees Celsius. The shelling of the artillery positions was to the most parts a failure due to high buildings surrounding the position. Actually more casualties were created by large buildings collapsing from shelling then the shells them selves.

OOC: Mercury's top speed is 75 mph, they usually go 60. How far is the city from the battlefield

Seeing that the M60A3's were pulling away from the fight, many of the mercenaries supposed to attack them now turned their weapons on the T-84's. Hundreds of mercenaries poured into the trenches, then scrambled out on the other side. The trenches were taken, it seemed. Now, they had the tanks surrounded. 30mm and Javelin fire hit them from the left, front, and rear. Other soldiers rolled their grenades under the vehicles, and watched as their tracks blew off. Once immobile, the men would get inside the vehicle, usually blowing of the hatch first, and slaughter the crews.

The Mercury's headed towards Vik blasted away at the slow M60's with 30mm AP rounds, and then were on the home stretch. The M60's would not be able to keep up with the quicker AFV's, and so, once out of range, all they needed to worry about was anyon still alive in Vik.

OOC: Simple, the Mercury's turret and the entire vehicle is faster than the tank by virtue of simple weight.

The Mercury is no doubt running very efficient and powerful Griffencrest engines, and since Griffencrest was originally an oil company, there would be no shortage of fuel, high octane fuel for it.

The tank needs treads to turn while the Mercury with its 8x8 drive can turn on a much smaller radius, the Mercury, if it can avoid the initial 105mm Shell from the M60 just needs to get around it while firing and aim at the rear mounted engine to disable the tank. A 30mm AP shell is what the A-10 Thunderbolt II uses on its Gattling gun to destroy tanks.

As for the ship, you are using unguided artillery rockets which really don't need much protection unless DMG's computers decided to shoot down the thing.

OOC: Wow Leaf, thats good stuff, how did you know the Mercury was 8x8? And Kamasha, the infantry rushed the rear tanks.

The ground battle was going very well. The trenches had apparently been taken, and were now something of a moat, and now all that was left were the tanks. Hundreds of Javelins continued slamming into them, and the remaining Mercury's pumped away into them. Infantry continued lobbing hand grenades underneath them as well. For the Kamashans, this was looking very bad. The mercenary commander sent the following message to the leader of Kamashan forces

"Surrender the city of Vik. We have already broken through your lines. Save your soldiers. Let them fight another day. Vik has no hope. Will you surrender it, or foolishly fight and die for the city?"

The remaining tanks now desperately fled. Those men still able to fight emptied there last remaining rounds into the hoards of enemy infantry before they finally put down there weapons, not even one shot would be left for the enemy. The disabled tanks started there self destruction sequence before the crew surrendered. The self destruction mechanism was nothing more then a code pushed into one of the computers on board that made the mechanics fell apart. Nothing that couldn't be fixed but it would be extremely expensive for those who wished to acquire the tanks. The City of Vik would however not surrender. They fought for there life and there freedom. Inside Vik they felt safe. The bombardment of the enemy fleet continued until the enemy was within shooting range. They then turned the artillery and started shooting there artillery shells on the approaching enemy.

The lead Mercury's finally reached Vik. Suddenly, an explosion tore out of the ground, destroying the Mercury and killing everyone inside. "Mines!" yelled the Lieutenant in charge. A group of infantry quickly piled out of some of the Mercury's with mine sweepers and other ant-mine devices, and walked ahead of the Mercury group.

For denying their opprtunity to surrender, noone would be spared. The Mercury's cut down anyone that did not leave. The few men that tagged along in the Mercury's hopped out to further the debauchery. Men and children were being shot dead. Women were being raped in the streets. The lucky ones had their battered bodies shot once the men were done with them. The unlucky ones were thrown into Mercury's, to be used later. Vik was quickly becoming hell. The city was aflame, hospitals and grade schools being lit up like a christmas tree to close to the candles. Any soldiers were quickly shot dead. The artillery was being hunted as it fired. The citys police force was, once subdued, hung from every street light along the city's main street. The utter disrespect for human life, rarely shown by the mercenaries, was now blatant and a disgusting reminder not to cross the corporation. Finally, the highest ranking remaining city officials were dragged from their homes, and brought to the city square. 4 large crosses were assembled there. The men were nailed, hand and foot, to the lumber, and left to hang there.

Oki hers my response. Those still not willing to survive had gathered in windows in the tall buildings all over town. Shooting at those who had left the Mercuries they killed dozens. Even if the enemy retaliated the solid concrete walls protected them. Anti missile weaponry had been brought to some of the more important buildings and was now aiming for the Mercuries from above. As the soldiers passed through some of the smaller roads they simply set off the explosives that was planted inside the buildings before, making whole buildings come crumbling down towards the attackers burying them alive.

The brutal slaying continued for days and the complex sewers system became the savour to many. The resistance could easily jump down one of the many main-holes in the ground just to pop up right behind whoever followed them. Many of the more important roads was also covered with oil and gasoline. As the soldiers walked through the city many was burned to death as the resistance fired up the streets. Even how hard the resistance fought they could not easily deal with there enemy.

One man rose to be one of the thougest in the resistance during these hard fights. Watching soldiers rape his wife and daughter in his own home while forcing him to watch made his heart stone cold. Drawing his hidden weapon he easily killed the five soldiers who stupid enough had left there guns on the table while having there fun. He ran to his wife and daughter hoping for a miracle. The small girl on only twelve was already dead from a shoot wound in her breast. He continued to his beloved wife who was laying ind a pool of blood. He hold her hand smiling gently. There were no need for words, both there faces expressed only one thing "I love you". This was the night the hated Blackhelm created there worst enemy. One Mr Kane.

As he entered the sewers seeking refuge the next day he soon met a group of rebels who had all met a similar fate. Working as a rebel group they made life hard for the invaders. Knowing the sewers from the inside out they could easily outmaneuver the soldiers sent down looking for them, and popping up in different parts of the city blowing up enemy installations or shooting enemy soldiers they soon enough got the name of "the sewers rats". They learned to move without making a sound or be seen. The enemy soldiers often joked about that the only way of detecting one of the sewer rats would be to smell him.

Even if the Sewer rats enjoyed killing whoever they could they always preferred taking there pray alive. A soldier out on night patrol taking a piss would easily become a target. Dragging him down into the sewers and away he was. During extreme torture even the strongest man would break down telling them what they wanted to know. Mr Kane often led these "interviews" in person. His favorit was holding there head down into the freezing cold sewer water until they nearly drowned. These meetings could last for days and in the end they all ether froze to death or started answering questions. But the most evil of all was that every single one of those entering the sewer was found hanging out in the streets from lamp posts naked with their genitals chopped off. As a reminder of what happened to Mr Kane.

Nearly 300 men died in the city. Many more were wounded. 40 more Mercury's were also blown apart. As more men came into the city, more were killed or wounded. The violence, however, began to decline, as there was a lack of people to harm. The unfortunate women who were carried away were now living in hell, virtual sex slaves to the Griffincrest mercenaries who captured them.

Just as the resistance was vicious, the mercenaries responded in turn. Captured resistance memebers were tortured for their knowledge of the sewers. After recieving the information they wanted, Griffincrest sent the lucky ones to RFF, The Husk Air Base. There, a brand new POW camp had been established. It would be similar to Guantanamo. The others were hung from trees by their thumbs till they starved to death. This exchange of violence would only breed more violence. The commander sent the following message to Kamashan higher ups.

"Surrender this island. The populace of Vik has suffered for your actions. Do not make any more people die."

The reply was cold a video tape of the Emperor telling the people of Vik newer to surrender.
"The glory of your (the sewer rats) work in Vik is like a breath of freshness over the entire empire. Those who had started to wonder if maby surrender was our only option have now gained extra strength from your sacrifices. As gods own decedent I promise a place in Vallhalla (Heaven in viking religion where all men who had died fighting came) for all those who offers resistens. Were Odin (ruler in Vallhalla) will great you all. You will sit at his table lacking nothing. One day Thor (The god of thunder and symbol of strength) will come down from the sky and spread death and despair through those who dears invade our land". The old empire was an old man but his heart was as fire. No one doubted that he meant every word he said.

"We shall fight the blackhelm demons until they leave this island. There purpose her is nothing more then being bringers of death and torment to our people. Se what they did to the citizens of Vik, not one was speared. They hunted down and killed our people. These demons raped our women and children, they slaughtered every single one, People who wished nothing but peace. These people who threatens our free democracy most be fought with all means necessary. Whatever troubles Kamasha have had in the past it's time we start to think about our future. We will not be taken as slaves the blackhelms hunger for power. We will not bow down to these men that is worth nothing more then the hound dogs roaming the streets.

For the leaders of the blackhelm demons I can only request that you end the bloodshead that you have brought to these shores, leave never to come back. If not your cities will be burned by the power of retaliation. You think you are safe where you cowards hide on the other side of the sea but we will get our revenge. None of your citizens will ever feel safe again. We will bomb your trains and buses, and your people will be left with a never ending uncertainty of when we will strike next. This is my warning to you Blackhelm dogs. Leave or feel our anger.

To the citizens of Kamasha I tell you: draw your weapons. Contribute to the destruction of Blackhelm forces. Do it for your family, your friends, your neighbors and your country. Do it for those who died in the trenches defending your freedom. Do it for those who every day dies and suffer in the streets of Vik. Do it for those who have lost it all".

As the emperor was finished Mr Kane cried. He had not cried since the brutal murder of his wife and child. People everywhere rushed to arms. Even women joined there home milts. This night the Blackhelms would certainly feel the anger of the people Kamasha. Hiding in the different ruins across town the sewer rats started fights everywhere. People was screaming all over town as they was being dragged down the sewers. handgranates was being rolled underneath the many mercurys inside the city. During the night none of the enemy soldiers would be able to sleep. Even if the Sewer rats lost many men that night they fought whit a passion that would be envied by any military leader. Snipers was once again placed around the city killing as many of the higher ranked officers as possible. Anti-tank mines was once again placed in key arias of the town. This night it was the Bleckhelm forces who experienced hell.

The ambush came as a swift surprise to the mercenaries, who were trying to solidify there hold on the city as the storm blew past. It was similar to the Tet offensive in Vietnam, it seemed. Unfortunatly, the GSF mercenaries would not be as kind as the US forces were.

Around the city, mercenaries pulled back into pre-determined positions around the city. Casualties were high, 120 men killed or wounded in the first hour. The mercenaries were now poised for a counter attack, how ever. The storm was nearly passed by now, and air support was an option. Gnats flew from the beaten up Nimitz carrier in the port, and began strafing Kamashan positions with both their cannons and rockets. The also forwarded positions to the troops on the ground. Nearly 1500 men hit the sewers, determined to destroy this rebellion. White phospherous grenades were used frequently, giving the rebels a terrible burning before death. The rebels were unable to blend into the normal society of Vik, as there was no longer a society with which to blend into. There was now nowhere for them to hide. They would have to await their imposing death. Around the city, Mercury's and machine gun nests were set up at man hole covers, awaiting the fleeing "sewer rats" to stick there filthy little heads out.

Mr Kane was one of the first to detect the threat moving around the sewers. He called of the attack on the surface and created a defence. Even if the mercenaries were better equipped and better trained the defenders made up for it with there knowledge of the sewers and the simple fact that they outnumbered the mercenaries 4:1. The defenders used a big variety of methods fighting the attackers. One of the more successful once was simply laying and wait for them in one of the intersections. The enemy soldiers often came from the smaller tunnels going strait forward until they reached the next intersection. This left no place to seek cower for those ambushed, in most cases leaving them well dead.

the tactic of blowing up whole tunnel sections burring those who were trying to pass were also frequently used. The only problem was that every blown up tunnel section meant one escape route less. It soon got cleared that if they should attempt to flee they would have to do it soon.

In the mean time Mr Kane sat in a corner of the sewer writing a letter to the generals of Blackhelm.

"To the highest ranked officer in the army of Blackhelm present at the island of Kamasha"

We, the sewer rats have come to the conclusion that we will put down our weapons and leave the city of Vik. We fought to save the city but underestimated your forces. If you accept our offer we will release all captive soldiers unharmed and leave within the same day as you confirm your positive answer. If no positive answer is heard we can do nothing but assume that your hostile actions will continue. If so happens we will have no other option then to continue our struggle to liberate the city of Vik.

Mr. Kane Leader of the sewer rats.

The letter were brought to the generals with one of the soldiers who had been suffering hard during torture. No doctor would have any problem declaring him insane. The sewer rats had no longer any need for him so they dressed him as one of them and sent him up through one of the many man holes covered by a machine gun nests. As the soldiers went to remove the dead man they saw the letter and a note where Mr Kane in person had wrote "I Mr. Kane releases this man as a sign of our good will".

This is really entertaining but I'm wondering why Blackhelm doesn't just gas everybody with Cyanogen Chloride, though it would be dangerous to those on the surface as it penetrates gas masks. Though you could just pull out of the city, gas with people wearing 'space suits' with independent oxygen systems or actual full size filters, wait a couple of hours for the gas to disperse then move in with NBC systems with full size filters to clean up. You are perfectly capable, I'm sure I sold you Cyanogen Chloride.

"Your request is granted"

Meanwhile, the mercenaries in the tunnels, as of yet unaware of the ceasefire, continued changing tactics based on the sewer rats actions. Each intersection that was approached would first be covered with a white phospherous grenade.

At the ports, new supplies began coming in, as well as nearly 100,000 Griffincrest employees, eager to start a new life an rebuild Vik. 250 BM-21 Grad 120mm multiple rocket launchers, as well as 100 RG-20's (little robot things with machine guns) were also sent in, preparing for the strike on Reykjavik. The airforce numbered in the hundrets and sucsesfully attacked the enemy ships that awaited resuplyes in the port of Vik. The bomb plains cried as they compleatly destroyed there own city. Long distance missiles were lunced from the surounding cities.

Mr. Kane were still sitting in what now hade become the sewer rats HQ down in the sewers. He were awaiting the reply from devils up on the ground. The time were short. The Gnats major strength was dog fighting up close and personnel, so all 50 Gnats, after deploying their missiles, zipped in close to the enemy and began unloadin gon them with their ADEN cannons. The first atemt to rescue the sewer rats.

The attack of a well defended enemy was what the air force was trained to do. The fighters quickly took place on the front and underneath the bombers. Most of the fighter plains had forward swept wings making them superior when it came to maneuverability. As soon as the gnats appeared on radar the bombers (Tupolev Tu-160 class) quickly started raising their hight to come out of the range of the gnats. Stealth technology deployed on the bombers made them extremely difficulty targets for the anti aircraft weaponry on the ground.

As Mr. Kane heard the bombs starting to drop all over the city he ordered an all out offence. Since he had not yet received the answer from the enemy forces he would continue fighting until they had replayed. The emperors orders of heavy bombing of the enemy positions in the city meant that the enemy officers probably would call of the attack on the sewers. Compared to the danger of the skies the sewer rats were only a minor issue, a constant cause of irritation but nothing more. Deploying all men, women and children in the sewers he "helped" the enemy leaving the sewers. The casualties were huge but he had no option. He also started planing a haisty escape from the city. Unfortunateness this would mean that they would have to kill all prisoners as well as fighting there way out of the city with the cost of many lives on both sides.

Through satellite connection with friendly forces he got all information he needed. The whole air armada of Kamasha were lunched or ready to be lunched as soon as the other airplanes returned. Missiles were delivering there deadly payloads all over enemy positions and big parts of Kamashas navy would arrive within the hour to deal with the enemy vessels. Subs had already been placed outside the port to stop them fleeing and receiving supplies.

You only have a 2000 m greater ceiling than my Gnats. And before I can respond, what kind of planes are you using, and what kind of weaponry are they firing?

IC: The mercenaries finally all recieved orders to pull out of the sewers. A number of the officers in the sewers took out bull horns and announced "You are free to leave the city. Release all prisoners. We are pulling out of the sewers"

The Sovremmeney class destroyers that were accompanying the supply ships soon picked up the subs on sonar, and ordered the fleet to hold. Quickly, the 6 ships began firing torpedoes, and let loose Nighthawk helicopters to depth charge the area.

OOC: Ok, what modern jet fighter doesn't have swept wings? In fact the first sentence on the article about the Folland Gnat mentions it has swept wings. The main advantage of the Folland Gnat is that it is manueverable because of its small size.

Secondly, the Tu-160 is an extremely large aircraft, and was meant as a supersonic, nuclear bomber with a service ceiling only 380m or 1,200ft above that of the Folland Gnat, easy targets for his AMRAAMs which have a 75-120km range depending on the model, an advanced ECCM (Electronic Counter Counter Measure) System, and a Mach 4 speed makes it hard to evade.

By 'stealth' I think you mean the fact that the Tu-160 can also be equipped for the EW/ECM role, which means it can't launch missiles or drop bombs with EW/ECM on board. However, jamming means that essentially you have created a 'black hole' on someone's RADAR, blinding their ability to track anything within the black hole except whatever is broadcasting it. An anti-radiation missile would easily imbed itself into the center of the black hole and destroy the EW/ECM craft.

The Tu-160 also cannot carry bombs, but only a 3,000km range cruise missile, or short-range nuclear cruise missiles. Overall a bad choice for heavy bombing, and an expensive mistake.

I look forward to their destruction by the $125,000 US Folland Gnat with however much upgrades Griffencrest gave them to fire AAMs.

Harpoon AGM-84 anti-ships missiles were lunched at the enemy vessels landed in the port. At the same time the subs waiting outside the port started lunching there UGM-84 torpedoes. Since blackhelm had done nothing about the underground tunnels beneath the port, they were quickly made operational and started lunching at the ships above. The subs had only to survive until rest of the navy arrived.

The newly built Sukhoi Su-47 fighter plains carrying 6 of the new developed Python 5 air to air missiles all proved highly efficiently. This new developed air to air missile used electro-optical imaging while chasing its enemy. This new developed missile were considered to be the best air to air missile in the world.

But it was not before the Tupolev Tu-160 turned of there jamming devises the true horror of the skies were detected by the enemy. As the remaining Tupolev turned back to base, 30 B-2 Spirit bombers that had been hiding in the fog made there approach. The fighters jets quickly left the battle zone to great the coming reinforcement. Once again they took positions in front and underneath the new arrived bombers.

Mr. Kane ordered a full stop in hostility between the sewer rats and the devils up on the streets. He would not spend any more ammunition and explosives at them. He had enough to plan all ready. It did not last long before men were ruing around the sewers preparing to leave the now ruined city.

OOC: The Su-47 is a testbed aircraft for new technology and probably won't be the production aircraft when Sukhoi finishes, but for dogfighting, it is a great choice. My concern is price to combat return ratio. A single Su-47 loss can buy perhaps a score of Gnats or a dozen Earwigs.

The B-2 however is a bad choice, it was tracked by the Rapier SAM system during a British Airshow, and the B-2 is vunerable to L-band RADAR and just old fashioned, strong as fuck RADAR. While it's bomb load is large, it has no defensive implements and it not meant to be used in such large formations. The B-2 was meant to be deployed one or two at a time for infiltration bombing. Large formations compromise that.

Missiles still streaked across the sky. Nearly a dozen Gnats, and about 8 F-4's were downed. Constantly, planes were landing and taking off from the decks of the beaten old Nimitz. The B-2's were kind of a waste. Planes were already in the air, and saw the planes as they came. Dozens of AMRAAM's were loosed at the planes. The fighters were a huge problem, but the Gnat pilots hoped to out do them. A hal of missiles and counter measures were launched, and quickly, the Gnats played a sort of chicken, going straight at the Su-47's, cannons blazing.

On the ground was were the real work was. The Chieftains, now being well stocked, continued flinging up tons of AA.

once again Kamashas officers had done a costly mistake. The B-2 bombing had bin a billion dollar failure. This would dig deep into Kamashas vaults. The B-2 bombers each cost double there own weight in pure gold and each own going down was a billion dollars waisted. Luckily many of them succeeded to drop there arsenal of bombs before shot down. Those who survived would be forever gratefully to the Su-47 fighter pilots. The plains themselves succeeded all expectations and the pilots were doing a great job. At this time some of them were forced to return to base for refilling fuel and ammunition. Sending groups of ten back at the time ensured a constant air force fighting the gnats.

In as the battle raged above them the sewer rats had finished there preparations to leave the city. Even if the city now locked like Berlin after
WW2 many people had problems leaving the city, after all this still was there home. Mr. Kane appointed one of the younger boys to find the enemy officers and discus in how the sewer rats should leave the city and how they could be safe that no one would follow them.

The ground was seemingly exploding all around the men, and large casualties were reported around the city. Still ships came and went, resupplying the beseiged forces in the city. The gnats were still losing comrades, but they were nothing monetarily, compared to what the Kamashans had lost in their B-2's. The commander once again tried to convince the Kamashan emperor to surrender.

"Surrender all of your oil fields, and let us keep Vik. These are what we will take to end this war. You are losing an astronomical amount of money and people trying to defend your nation."

Did my AGM 84 missiles sink your carrier? Come on its time for the old carrier to sink. after all I have torpedoed it, sent rockets at it, torpedoed it once more, bombed the whole harbour with mortars and artillery and lunched missiles at it ;) Next I'll crash my subs into it (lol)

I'm preparing the next speech of the emperor this might take some time. It depends on how much work I'll putt into it. We also need to have some sort of meeting between the sewer rats and your soldiers so that I can leave the city and award my faithful soldiers :)

IC: The carrier took a few of the Harpoons, and began going down. Luckily, it was in the shallow water of the harbor, so the ship was not completely lost. Its flight deck was still usable to some extent, but its ability to move was completely lost.

In the sewers, a group of about 50 men were sent to find a resistance representative. Then they would discuss how to get the rats out of the city.

The Emperor speech were broad casted to the whole Internationale community not a single person in the whole wide world should doubt what the people of Kamasha thought about there invaders. The emperor were dressed up and sat at his throne ready to speak. As the TV Cameras were turned on he took a deep breath and started speaking. First with a lower voice then the slowly he raised his voice bit by bit. The Emperor glowing of power and showed no sign of tiredness from the last days fighting.

"I have a massage for you Blackhelms.
You evil creatures, the leading devil's brothers and comerads, may Lucifer get you and your pathetic soldiers. You do not have the power to undertake the Empire of Kamasha. We do not fear your soldiers, at sea and at land we will fight you. You are a insult to this lands where you walk, you are enemies of the earth and a laugh to our lord. May the demons drag you down to the hell where you came from. You worthless beast have no friends. Not even the flies willingly lands on your filthy skin. May the Lord him selves come down to earth to kick your asses. You have the bravery of a mice, muscles of a baby and the brains of a fish.

Your present her will be ended. Our oilfields and our cities will never be given to you. As long as the people of Kamasha walks this earth you can never feel safe. Leave now of feel the wreath of retaliation"

The T.V Cameras were turned of and the emperor sank down into his chair. Men around him was applauding and smiling. Yet another great speech given by a great man.

Down in the sewers the fifty men were ordered lay down there weapons. They got two choices. Everyone put down there weapons and follow or thirty men leave the sewers immediately.

As the Blackhelms started leaving for Reykjavik the bombardment of vik stopped. Instead there were a constant missiles and artillery bombardment at the soldiers leaving. Five minutes after they left bomber plains returned. Dropping there arsenal at the many Mercuries.

OOC: Current Estimated Loss to Kamasha: $65.8 Billion in infrastructure, personnel, and vehicles. This is actually a conservative estimate
Current Estimated Loss to GC: $1.1 Billion in ships, personnel and vehicles. The Loss of a carrier is significant and a serious blow to Griffencrest, but it was actually downgraded because it was an 'old' carrier.

I feel that the speech is a bit overdone, as this is a closed thread with me only commenting to keep things from turning into a weird wank-fest.

I feel this is a great oppurtunity for Kamasha to RP a bit and to get the hang of it, and it is interesting to see Griffencrest do something without the international community playing the 'oh God he is Kraven 2.0 now with instant messenger' card.

I would say you have suffered nearly ~$400 billion in infrastructure loss, especially if it was as big as London. But I'm not envisioning Dresden-type damage, mainly Baghdad type damage, with pockets of destruction. But if it is really Dresden-type firebombed to bits damage, it would be in the ~$1 trillion range.

three types of plains were sent out to bomb the moving troops. The first type was the A-10 Thunderbolt II. The second was the Su-47 fighters, They were not espesally many but there mission were to protect the other planes. And shoot down any gnat that entered the battle zone. The third type of plains that lunched form Reykjavik that day was two of the survived

This time the B-2's were loaded with cluster bombs. More specific the CBU-100 Cluster Bomb, specially designed for anti-tank warfare.

A uncertain number of older bombers were also sent out from Reykjavik airbase. They had a more easy mission as there objective were to destroy all bridges on the way of the two cities. There power to delay the enemy troops could just be what ended the war. Since Blackhelm had hired there soldiers, they had to pay there wagers. Each day of waiting would cost Blackhelm lots of money, and ma-by make them reconsider to finish there invasion.

The first strike of the thunderbolts and Su-47 plains came from the sea side near the middle. The Thunderbolt were able to start shooting at the enemy from a mile away. They continued to fire until they crossed the line of Mercuries. They turned and attacked again. This time they attacked the once in front. When they had crossed the line twice the B-2 made there apparences. As they came falling down from above they opened the hatches underneath the plain and released there deadly payload. They attacked from the front and continued along the line of Mercuries bombing them as they went. Midway a lucky shoot hit one of them, The bomber slowed down as it fell toward the ground. The Mercury force was hit hard. Nearly 100 vehicles were destroyed or disabled. Still, they knew that Kamasha's air force was wearing thin. As the Thunderbolt's came buzzing by, the mercenaries unloaded and fired dozens of stinger missiles skyward. The Mercury's also threw up interlocking machine gun fire, catching planes as they came.

Finally air support was called in. 20 Gnats, along with 15 F-4's were called to hunt the surviving aircraft and destroy them.

OOC: Not a bad post, and 'plains' is spelled 'planes'. Plains are where you grow wheat and flyover because they really aren't that interesting.

The A-10 was a good choice against the Mercurys, you are essentially firing right back at them with a combined relativistic velocity much higher than the Mercurys gun. The cluster bombs were a good idea, as was using a small B-2 force. The Su-47 isn't too good of a choice, while it is a superb dogfighter, I would have suggested the much cheaper and easier to fly Su-27. Perhaps a MiG-29 because this is within your own territory therefore you don't need to fly far. American counterparts include the F-14, F/A-18, F-15, and F-16.

A uncertain number of older bombers were also sent out from Reykjavik airbase. They had a more easy mission as there objective were to destroy all bridges on the way of the two cities. Uncertain numbers are bad. That means that even your own Air Force doesn't know shit. You look bad, and it makes it harder for Blackhelm to respond, and opens the door for uncertian number of bombers to be 1000s if the raid went well, or just a couple if it is going badly.

The bridge destroying strategy will hinder everything but the Mercurys and since they make up the majority of his armoured force, it will only slow them down a bit.

I wouldn't have the bombers open up with the Warthogs underneath them. The chance of those cluster bombs shredding one of the Thunderbolts is too high.

Remember quantitize your forces, make clear numbers or else it leaves you too open to godmodding.

A tip for Blackhelm, you need specialized anti-aircraft vehicles with mobile RADAR sets so as not to be caught off guard. And probably some real MBTs next time.

Ic: the Thunderbolts turned five times before the B-2 bomber had emptied its arsenal. The original force of 14 thunderbolts had sunk to ten and of the 21SU-47s 15 remained. The Thunderbolts joined up with the B-2 bomber and returned to the base. Air to air fights were not among there strong sides. The Su-47s started drawing away from the battle towards the Reykjavik. Half way there they got ordered to turn back and fight as real men. six planes were in to bad condition to fight any more and three had used all of there ammunition. Instead 24 Sukhoi Su-30 fighters joined them. They turned and faced there opponent. Fighting far away from any anti air missiles this would be the true battle for the skies.

IC: The Gnats all loosed their AMRAAM's as the enemy planes came. 40 AtA missiles all screeched towards their targets. Behind them, the Gnats hit full throttle, ready to engage at close quarters with their ADEN cannons. The F-4's held their missiles till they got closer, then let loose a smashing salvo of Sidewinder missiles.

On the ground, the mercenaries were trying to re-organize. There was chaos all around, as the men attempted to figure out their losses and get moving again. The people of Reykjavik would regret this attack. They would pay for this in blood.

the people of Reykjavik knew what happened in Vik. And they had no intention of being slaughtered themselves. tens of thousands of people fled the city in panic. Thousands of people left the city on foot, trying to reach the villages surrounding the city. Unluckily to many of them only froze to death before reaching safety.

Military services in Kamasha had always been voluntary. But new orders from the emperor stated that "all persons living within the boarders of Kamasha above the age of 17 and under the age of 60 , were to join the military immediately. Those who denied military service would be trialed for treason and shoot if found guilty". This meant that the officers now could go out in the streets and pick people. Anti-tank weaponry were set up in different parts of t6the city. The Military airport were at high alert ready to lunch fighter and bomber planes in toward the battle field. The base were only halfway operational and they did not have to many aircraft's but the moral were high.

During the later years the citizens of Kamasha had been traveling all over the world. Also to Blackhelm. A group of Kamasha citizens had heard the emperors speak. OOC: RPing a terroist attack without talking it over with the other party is just bad etiquette. I know my citizens have to go through hell to even enter the Blackhelm Confederacy, yours sneaking in explosives with coordinated timers is a stretch.

Also this is the Griffencrest Corporation, not the Blackhelm Confederacy that is invading. If anything, terrorist attacks almost never work and this may just bring down the full force of the actual Blackhelm Confederate Military Forces on you.

Stationary defensive positions are so World War I. Blackhelm will just sit a score of a kilometre away and let loose with mortars and artillery to punch many, many holes in your line then go in that way.

OOC: What kind of weapons are your men using? And getting explosives into the country is incredibly hard, as foreigners are absolutly hated in the Confederacy, so your people would be searched thouroughly. My old nation, Exponent, collapsed due to plague, and people blamed foreigners for it.

IC: The car bombs just made Kamasha another enemy. The Confederate military was a powerful force, with a real airforce, not just Gnats and F-4's, and Pythogrian XM-1 main battle tanks. The Confederacy was usually an isolationist nation, but when attacked, there was hell to pay. Chancellor Lucius Blackhelm appeared briefly to tell the citizens of the war to come, and then, they were off. The Confederate Navy now set sail, led by their flagship, the Arch Angel class super dreadnought, the Blackhelm. Along with the monster of a vessel, 700,000 Confederate men, eager to fight ever since Kroandon forces never even landed were packed onto their ships, along with 2,000 XM-1's, 1,000 T-8 Sprite's, and 2 Nimitz class carriers, each packing 90 SuFB-8 Strike Phoenix's.

On Kamasha, the Griffincrest forces were pretty sure that they could have the capital well under their control before the Confederate forces arrived. It would take them the better part of a month to get there. In the meantime, the mercenaries began setting up their BM-21's, and launching hundreds of rockets from a distance down upon the Kamashan defenders. All the officers are equiped with hand weapons. Those with a low rang but are given small guns mostly are given small caliber weapons. The higer officers uses colts with hige calibre. The generals also carries swords (sharp as hell, but primealy just to be loocked at).

The mercenaries were not about to rush the capital, full of thousands of soldiers. The 200 BM-21's that were brought in at Vik were firing literally thousands of rockets into the city every hour, mostly HE and a few frag rockets. The plan had worked. Or at least something had worked. The enemy had stopped outside the city and that suited the commander just fine. Buildings could be rebuilt and properties could be fixed. It was the 22 million citizens that needed to be saved. The time was short the officers had to deal quickly to defend there city. Every second a new shell made a impact.

of course snipers had been placed to shoot at those stupid enough not to hide. And the artillery responded the fire, even if they had no chance to match the Blackhelms numbers of shells. The defence of this city did not relay on artillery, tanks and missiles. The tactics had proven to be a failure in the defence in vik, and this time the defence were led by one of the more experienced generals, a general who had learned how to look back at history and learn form it. The defence were led by the emperor him selves. The weary creator of the holy empire.

He led the defence from a heavy fortified position in the southern parts of the city. designed to withstand a nuclear attack the bunker would survive the many shells ramming it. The general sat in a meeting with his top officers. Many ideas were easy rejected. A middle aged officer named Sjur had even proposed that the easy way to victory would be to give arms to as many as possible and command them to rush the enemy. This and many more were rejected but a female general carrying the name Natalin came with the simplest idea:

The B-2 bomber that had survived both the disaster in Vik as well the complete success in the bombardment of the troop movement were quickly in the air. With its bombs and fuel refilled and any damage to the hull repaired it was in a great condition. Using the same tactic as before it traveled in the clouds not to be seen and deploying the advantages of being stealth. It once again dropped its arsenal upon the easy targets. In the mean time 150 men had traveled down in the sewers. Very few knew that the old sewer system could lead the troops behind the enemy lines. As the B-2 had finished the soldiers lunched there anti tank missiles before rushing back into the sewer system which then were closed by deploying c4 100 meters into the tunnel. The hole made dirt to fall in and shutting the tunnel. Just for safety they put a trip wire connected to a bomb, so that if you dig into the tunnel from the other side you probably would end up killing the hole digging crew.

IC: Kamashans picked up their weapons, and upon turning off their safeties, fond a rather large surprise. There was a small explosive in each gun, powerful enough to blow apart sending fragmentation from the gun smashing into the man holding it, tearing his chest apart.

Seeing the refusal to surrender the commander ordered the contents of those silver boxes to be fired. Each BM-21 loaded the rockets in the box, and fired. The contents of these rockets was soon found out, as thousands of them crashed into the city. Lewiesite poured out from each one as they hit the ground. A hideous gas cloud began to envelope the city, killing many. Lewisite was capable of getting through rubber, so even those with gas masks would be severly damaged, possibly killed, as the gas got through their skin.

"among cowards, men like you would feel at home, of all diseases you are the worst and among creeps you belong. Were not the slaying of 9 million people in Vik enough? Did there blood not satisfy you? Did you feel the need to deploy gas upon a city of 22 million peaceful citizens? And did you not calculate the fact that the wind is blowing from the sea and right into your own ranks? You will never get our oil and we will never surrender we are 200 million citizens on this island and every single one carriers weapons to fight you. Not before you have killed every single one our land can be conquered. Leave and go home."

This was the message sent to the generals of Blackhelm. The weapons had been collected right after the arrival and only a few had been fired. No more then a hundred had been killed by this treacherous trick. All over the city air sealed rooms had been built to prevent scenarios as this. As people rushed toward these rooms many were killed. As many died from friendly fire in there struggles to enter the safety rooms as died from the gas. Hundreds were shot and left in the streets awaiting the gas to take them out of there misery. Between two and three million died in total (occ: is this a plausible number I don't know how to calculate these things). As the air tight doors were closed, they sat and looked out on the outside world by TV images shown on monitors. They followed the gas's journey straight into the Blachelms ranks.

The mercenaries all donned their gas masks, and fell away from the wind, moving to a flank. The mercenaries all also took their dimercaprol, the anti-Lewisite agent, preventing any serious damage being done. After moving, the BM-21's were set up again (a process which takes only a few minutes) and resumed their bombardment of Kamashan troops.

When the threat was over soldiers flocked back out in the streets again. They quickly fell back into there defencive positions. The once who had no tasks to do started collecting the dead and wounded. It was a time consuming work but it needed to be done. The dead were tossed onto large mountains of bodies. Those who had survived outside the vaults were taken care of by sanitary. A group started building large Trebuchets, ten were built in total. It were no way that they could store two million dead people inside the city. The next day the large Trebuchets started Lunching bodies over the enemy bringing with them all types of diseases. Along with them all the Famas that had been given. They were not hoping to actually kill anyone with the Famas but seeing the enemy jumping around on the ground trying not to bee hit were a great laugh as well as a moral boost into this city which had suffered so much from the Blachelm.

Seeing the enmey flinging the dead with trebuchets towards them, the officers quickly got on bullhorns. "People of Reykalavik, you will let your government treat the bodies of your loved ones in such a way. Stop this, join us."

As he said this, the first vehicles began filling in the trenches dug to stop them.

Finally they started to move. To this point only the poor homeless people had been thrown over to the enemy. This meant that the more successful people could be speared. The people was furious of seeing there own people simply be tossed into the enemy camp and some were talking about joining the enemy. A hundred men and women left the city carrying white flags as a sign that they surrendered. But most feared that people who had no problems with killing 11 million people would not spear them. As the enemy moved another group exited the sewers. This time they attacked on the left flank. Fifty anti tank missiles were fired as well as a great number of hand grantees were tossed, before they returned to the sewers. As the Mercuries approached anti tank missiles were fired from the city hitting the Mercuries in the front.

20 Mercury's were destroyed, but a number of anti-tank missiles hit people, killing around 15. The infantry began making makeshift bridges out of spare wood, and charging across the trenches, firing away and tossing grenades as they went.

Those who surrendered were accepted into the mercenary camp. The commander was glad at least some people were wise enough to surrender before the darkness that was Griffincrest enveloped the city.

OOC: Kamasha is taking a beating, at this point a negotiated surrender and possible tensions that could lead to another war are possible.

Currently the city is filled with the dead, booby-trapped FAMAS's, and debris from the bombardment.

The sewers are becoming a severe problem, so Blackhelm is probably going to fill them with something, dirt, water, oil, napalm, a very dense poison gas to keep it from heading back up into the air.

We'll see a switch from saturation bombardment to tactical bombardment, with Gnats and F-4s doing the heavy lifting, dropping 500 lb bombs onto buildings designated by Griffencrest fire controllers.

Those who have surrendered, will be used as propaganda ploys to convince others to surrender. I suggest deploying a massive transmitter to jam all transmissions and fill the airwaves with corporate propaganda. The downside is that Griffencrest's communications are baffled unless he modulates the frequencies ahead of the jammer. And to copy that he needs to know exactly how the jammer modulates, which is something very hard to do mathematically.

I think heavy propaganda from both sides should fill a void as this descends into urban warfare. I think the lesson of Vik has been learned and Griffencrest is staying far behind letting bombs and rockets do the work and using air power tactically.

Kamasha's strategy seems odd, I would have spent the wood making trebuchets into building barriers against Mercuries. It can create fireboxes where crossfire from adjacent buildings can pin and destroy the powerful vehicles.

It seems that Kamasha's armour has failed completely.

IC: A squadron of 4 F-4's took to the skies. There target, Reykjavik's radio and TV stations. Dozens of laser guided bombs soon fell on the media sources of the city. Once these were destroyed, loudspeakers were set up around the city, telling people to surrender and they would not be harmed. In the skies above the city, a half dozen Hong-5's began dropping thousands of leaflets. On one side, it showed the people who had recently surrendered, smiling and playing cards with some mercenaries, and under the picture, it said surrender and live in peace. On the other, it said resist and be destroyed, and showed a picture of the four crucified city officials in Vik.

Blackhelm may try the biological route and douse your city with flu viruses. While this isn't dangerous, it is debilitating and damaging to the war efforts. Flu vaccines take a minimum of 9 months to a year to make depending on the size of hte biotech industry and the amount of chicken eggs they have.

OOC: This is an odd point, only iron fisted dictators who rule by fear, or religious monarchs usually yeild this kind of power. While the emperor certainly does this, fear usually erodes when someone else is scarier.

I would expect hundreds defecting, as the emperor seems impotent now. Completely unable to hold off a corporation's army and losing the battle with WWI tactics.

Also I would expect Griffencrest to be working like mad to locate the emperor. If anything, we have had enough speeches to create a computer simulation of his voice, and if we broadcast it via AM frequencies, we can make it sound believable enough for people to surrender. Even entire television interviews can be faked with enough time.

"People of Kamasha, the Griffencrest Corporation has left me no alternative. As of this moment I am abdicating my position as emperor and surrendering our forces, all those who can hear me are to surrender to Griffencrest units and those who have taken up arms are to drop them.

Ignore messages saying otherwise, they are imposters, militants who wish not surrender despite the pain our people have suffered. We can suffer no longer, I can no longer ask for more of your blood to act as a transfusion for our dying nation. To preserve Kamasha, and its people, we must surrender and negotiate a good conditional surrender.

Those who continue to fight, do so without the support of the emperor and are traitors according to imperial law. My people, we may have lost the war, but we have yet to lose our freedom."

Loop it and jam all AM frequencies and all Kamashan radio frequencies, eventually get enough people with Adobe Premier and Photoshop to create a grainy image of the emperor saying this. Then to continue with the illusion, Griffencrest should pull out slightly and stop its artillery bombardment and dig in further.

People do forget about stuff, we use the 'fog of war' excuse. Kamasha, I suggest long-range bombardment, stay far away from his fleet and just pound it. With it in dock just burn it there.

As the enemy soldiers occupied near the whole city the emperor gave his final order: Start operation Ragnarok" (Viking language, means the end of the world"". He hurried away from his safe bunker and fled down toward the port. There a sea plain waited for him. As he looked down toward the city he tried to defend his actions. He had sacrificed the city, but maby saved the stubs of his empire.

At once all speakers in the city said one word: Ragnarok! Then there were a second with total silence. Not a dogs bark, not a child crying. The tension were enormous. Once again all remaining citizens turned toward the safety rooms. They had exactly two minutes to reach them before ragnarok accrued. Medical personnel left there soldiers on the surgery table, field priests run away from the dying soldiers, and wounded, left on the ground were killed by the large crowds running over them. The safety zones had been filling up with people who sought protection. They were now rapidly emptying. The emperor knew very well that after this war his time as emperor would be forever over. No more would he sit in the emperor seat, no more would he walk down the road knowing he were gods own decedent to the people. His bloodline had ruled Kamasha since ancient times, but now the era were done. The Time for changes were upon them. As he often did when faced with the cruelty of the world he cried.

The speakers had been silent since the last message, but now the voice of the emperor sounded. "May the gods be with you. May they lead you into the journey that you now are to embark on. This marks a turning point for Kamasha. The emperor has left his seat and his successor have arrived. Bow for your new leader and embrace him. For ever Kamasha!

Those who had not reached a safety room prayed. Every room had been guarded by security guards. The rooms were now sealed and no one could enter nor exit. A switch were turned on and deadly gas were filling the city. Guns appeared from buildings everywear. They had been hidden within the building itselves and hatches had now opened. They carried armor piercing bullets and were now rapidly shooting at anything that moved. Dogs, cats, birds, friendly or hostile soldiers. Buildings all over the city collapsed blocking the exits out of the city. This was Reykjavik's last defence. Only to be used if all hope were gone.

As the leaf in the storm, he will travel to where the storm decides to blow him. Only bringing with him memories of the past"

Can you guess who "he" is? It is me. I am the leaf in the storm. My last job is only to vanish into the crowd. To desipere, as the leaf in the storm no one will recognize me. Burning or already burned out vehicles were a frequent site. Buildings all along the way were turned to rubble. Mercenaries had set up snipers and checkpoints all over the leveled zones of the city.

As they came nearer to the palace, a mercenary medic was tending to a Kamashan man lying on his back, bleeding heavily from a head wound. The driver turned around to the old Emperor. "We aint all bad guys ya know"

Did you know that the palace was the oldest building in Kamasha? And now you have ruined. A symbol of the past and now its leveled. You stupid man. The gods will revenge this. Now come on this way.

They headed down a hole in the ground. "And they entered a large room. The emperor pushed some buttons, turned and said there now its done. I only hope that the new emperor can do a better job then me". Then the old emperor looked sad on his captures. Grinned and took a pill. "Now I have done what I can for my people. Please do not let them suffer any more" Then he fell down to the ground. Appearently sleeping.

"Did he just kill himself?" a lieutenant asked. "Yea, what the hell?" replied a corporal.

The palace was not terribly ruined. Grant it, walls were gone and massive holes gaped across the ceiling, but parts of it were still standing. A mercenary was taking pictures of him and his buddies hanging out on the expensive furniture. Another mercenary sat in a comfortable looking red chair, staring blankly at the destruction his comrades caused to the city through a crumbling wall. His helmet sat on his lap, as did his balaclava. His G36E was propped up to the leg of his His ash covered face bore no expression. A cigarette hung from his mouth, unlit. He just stared at the destruction.

Thirty five thunder birds entered the horisont of the Blackhelm forces. Using there missiles towards the remaining Mercuries.
The many vaults had now started opening and enemy sniper positions were reported. And they were engaged. Kamasha soldiers started leaving the vaults. In many cases they kept hidden between the ruins killing with silent guns or knives. Of course some of these groups were detected and for the most parts subdued or killed but in the noise of the attacking thunder birds few were detected. As the thunder birds brought hell outside the city the soldiers inside could retake defencive positions. Moving bit by bit, step by step they spread out got the defence back up on its feet.

In the emperors bunker two hatches were opened slowly and silent. The former emperor had pressed the real code as well as a security code. Now Greek fire stormed out of the two hatches. The flames consumed the entire room. In that bunker the plans of how to defend of the whole empire were created and stored, and this were the security measure that would stop everybody else from reading them. The flames consumed the expensive art hung on the wall, the tikh table and fluffy chairs. Burning with 900 degrees Celsius the heat melted the computers, turning them into pools of plastic on the floor.

The soldier staring blankly jumped from his seat as he heard the dying screams of the men below him. Soldiers around the city began reporting casualties left and right. A handful of Mercury's were destroyed.

Message to Kamashan leadership

We will make a deal. We now own the most prosperous parts of your country, that being the capital, a major seaport, and a large number of offshore oil fields. The deal will be to partition your nation into two parts. Respond soon.

You can take the offshore oil fields. But we will never surrender the capital nor any other land to you dogs.

Your capital has already been seized. Further incursions into Kamasha will be put on hold. Withdrawl of 20,000 soldiers has begun. The remaining 100,000 men will be on standby to further invade you.

Vik was a stronghold of Griffincrest operations. Thousands of regular employees, mercenaries, and their families began moving in, going about their day to day lives.

Reyjavik, however was different. Mercenaries constantly lived fearing the threat of a Kamashan attack. Patrols were mostly done now by the unmanned RG-20's, in hopes of minimizing casualties.

Prologue:
the next days hundreds on hundreds of armed personnel rolled in to Reykjavik. Throwing themselves at the Blackhelm. Inch by inch they regained the capital. Even if the Blackhelm crew were better equipped and trained they were badly outnumbered. Within the following month they gained control of the capital. Whole families had been slain, sickness and dioceses killed many people every day and people starved to death. Still they did not bow down. After they conquered the capital they started moving toward Vik. Heavy bombers had been bombing the City since the invasion had started, and living were hard. How ever this burning ruin held many thousand Blackhelm employees. Tactical bombers, armed veicals and thousands on thousands of Kamasha patriots fought, died and won what was later called "The battle of Vik". When the statistics were trying to calculate the cost of this war they cried. And the numbers were newer shown to the public. But however the cost the Kamasha people still were masters in there own nation.

OCC: I'm ending this this RP while we both think it is fun. I am going to use this war for future references when I have to explain how Kamasha evolved. Therefore I wanted to win. (Hope you don't mind). Anyway I want to use this RP to turn my nation into a republic ruled by a group of religious zealots. A group of men hating the emperor for getting there family killed or something. If you want to join please tell me, and I set up the thread

WTF! NO! I am still capable of fighting here, regardless of what else is happening. The fact that I am being invaded gives me more incentive to RP this out and keep both cities. At least leave me Vik.
