AN OPEN LETTER FROM THE RIYADH OFFICE OF PRIME MINISTER NASIR
To the neighbors of Arabicia and the rest of the World,
Arabicia has recently emerged from the ashes of civil war. Our civil war was cut to an end after three years of figthing between several groups, though the battles mainly consisted of attacks and counterattacks on radical Islamic groups or on Jewish and moderate forces. After two years of debate in our temporary governmental congress between the National Republicans (conservative and primarily Muslim) and the Liberal Leauge (progressive and consisted of moderate Muslims, seculars, and Jews), we were able to finalize a constitution and to hold elections for a national Diet and for the offices of Prime Minister and Viser to the Prime Minister. My name is Abdul al Nasir and I was the canidate that was nominated from the Liberal Leauge. I was elected to serve my nation as the Prime Minister.
Now that I have introduced myself and my nation I would like to address the point of this letter. I have written this out of hopes that Arabicia would be able to grow democratic and trade relations with other nations in the region and in the World. We hope to work with other nations to promote the growth of our people and to expand and diversify our economony.
However, we also face the difficult task of maintaining stabillity in a new democracy. Severally groups aim at destabilizing our nation. The group that is most notable is the Arm of Allah, a fundamentalist group that has threatened to 'take any means necessary to drive out foreign relgious influences'. The Arm of Allah, or AOA, only refers to the hardworking agnostics, seculars, atheists, Jews, Christians and other religions that refuse to follow their beliefs. The AOA also aims at setting up an Islamic Theocratic state, something Arabicia is working very hard to prevent. We hope that we will be able to gain the help of other, more established nations to help us develop and maintain security in our nation and thus make both the region and the world more secure. We aim to establish a moderate, secular government that does not only rely on our natural oil resources and creating a defensive force that is capable of protecting Arabicia's borders.
I hope to soon hold a conference of national representatives interested in forging alliances at which I will be present. Until we are able to make arrangements please forward any propositions and questions to my Intrim Foreign Minister, Khaled Hosseini.
Thank you,
Abdul al Nasir
