The Cassiopeian Border
A strange order went throughout the fleets. It read simple Assemble on 4456, 4252, which are a pair of random coordinates I made up. Of course this is also near the border of the Commonwealth. A giant fleet, to be headed by the CNS Aralonia (Harrison Ford's flagship), was assembling. He got a recent promotion as soon as the order went out too. Now he was in charge of the 2nd Cassiopeian Fleet... temporarily. Around him were 15 of the 20 Battlefleets of the Cassiopeian Navy. Of course, that totalled 435 ships. The Army was gearing up too, but the urgency wasn't as bad.
The rest of the BattleFleets and the two other large fleets were assigned to Rosanica, the capital. Strangely the colonies were left to fend for themselves. Normally the pirates would take this chance, but they were a bit hesitant. They knew something was going to happen.
Harrison was sitting down on his brand spankin' new bridge chair. Everything about the ship was new. And he liked it. He never had so much power in one ship, or in this case, power over so many ships.
He snorted. "Hm... let's see. The Ministry of Defense gave me four hundred and thirty ships, the rest of the Navy is in Rosanica, and the pirates aren't even raiding. If I didn't know any better I might say we're preparing for an invasion." He paused. "To tell you the truth, it might explain the new upgrades. Retrograde rockets, new missiles, the new flagship. Hell, I guess we are going to invade something. What, I have no idea. But I guess it's a real big target since we're being so secretive..."
An Ensign with an envelope walked up to the Grand Admiral. "Sir." He said. "The Ministry sent a new message."
Harrison grabbed the envelope as the Ensign walked away. "Let's see here..." He said as he opened it. "More people are coming? Oooh, it is an invasion. Let's see, ah yes. The Hiigarians and the Minbari. And... who are these? Taldaanians? Never heard of them, but apparently the contacted the Senate. Either way, this is interesting."
He turned his chair around, a HoloNet message. "Hey remember me Harrison?" It was his old mentor, Captain Bruce. No last name because he's cool like that, and well, last names are hard to make up. "Look at you. You're heading your own invasion, you're my boss. The gossip is that we're gonna invade a real big Empire ya know. That or, this is just a drill. It probably is since the Senate isn't known for their relations with other countries."
Harrison smirked. "Ah, between you and me we got a few other guys getting here. Point is, have yourself glued to the New Channel. The President might make a statement soon.
Bruce smiled and saluted. "Well, Grand Admiral, I'll leave you to your duties, Have fun." Thus he signed off.
Harrison looked at his envelope and through it from behind him. "Well men." Reffering to the Ensigns operating in the bridge. "Keep your scanners out for our allies, whoever they may be." He paused and whispered to himself. "I have a feeling this'll make Aios look like a fuufypants..."

Approximately 5 AU from Cassiopeian fleet
One massive jump point formed away from the Cassiopeian fleet, disgorging twenty-two Minbari vessels. It was obvious that the Minbari were aiming for an invasion, because the Grey Council saw fit to deploy the Victorious, a mammoth sixteen klick battleship, and the Iskandar Shah mod. B, the second Minbari prototype of the Iskandar Shah class. Along with these two ships came the rest of the ad hoc battlefleet, which was pretty much whatever the Grey could cobble together with almost no notice.
They formed up in a standard formation, which was fairly well useless because nobody expected anyone to attack them while they were preparing to invade...somebody..
Shai Alyt Hedronn ra Shaibar`nik, a veteran of the Battle of Aio as well, was in command of the Victorious. He opened a communications line with the Cassiopeian flagship and said, "Grand Admiral Ford. It is good to see you again. It would be nice if your government would give us more information, the Grey Council didn't tell me or any of my subordinates a thing."
It was true, the Grey Council hadn't actually told Hedronn anything. Just to deploy to those random coordinates along with the other twenty-one ships. They formed a nice little ad-hoc battlegroup, and waited. The crews of the ships speculated about the possible invasion targets, but the truth of it was, only one member of the Grey knew and he wasn't speaking to anyone.
While the Taldaani model of government was good enough to keep order, it wasn't much good when it came to fighting wars. The media-styled "apatheticracy" recieved the message, but as usual failed to achieve a quorum, and as usual all but one vote was to abstain. The other vote was to postpone the decision, and it left the Speaker for the Democratic House smug and satisfied that he alone had taken decisive action for his country.
The Taldaani political system was somewhat unique in the Universe in that, while it was still twitching, the brain had died long ago. With standards of living soaring in Taldaan, and the various political parties tripping over each other in a mad dash for the centre ground where they proceeded to slander each other, the populace as a whole had lost interest in politics entirely and decided to see if there was something good on the Holoviewer instead. Polling stations on election nights had become as empty as meetings of the short-lived Fundamentalist Christians for Paedophile Rights organisation, with only the occasional diehard partisan turning up to vote.
Eventually the entire system of democratic representation had ground to a halt. In fact, no new minister had been elected in over a hundred years, and the numbers in the Democratic House were suffering from attrition. While this could have allowed all kinds of totalitarian nutjobs to take over Taldaan, it hadn't worked like that for the simple reason that the politicians were just as apathetic as the people they represented. They could still just about collect taxes: the Revenue Department was made up of clerks rather than politicians, and so seemed unaffected, which in turn allowed them to run the security forces, but making decisions? No way.
And in fact the message would have disappeared for all time had it not also been intercepted by the Super-Heavy Combatant Vehicle Devourer of Delicious Souls. And naturally the Shipmind told two friends, who then told two friends each, who then...
You get the picture. And these being Shipminds, it all took place in a fraction of a second. So it was a force of one hundred and fifty ships (plus drones) of various types that arrived at the co-ordinates.

[APPROXIMATELY 5AU FROM THE TCG FLEET AND 2AU FROM THE MINBARI FLEET]
Several elements of the Hiigaran 15th Expeditionary Task Force were redirected from the wargames [OOC: nya.] and sent to these Unknown Random Coordinates, nearly intersecting with several Minbari craft along the way. 24 ships warped out of hyperspace and appeared at the correct coordinates.
“Well? What's up?”

Harrison smirked. "Ah, they're all here. The Taldaani, the Minabari, and the Hiigarians." A small beep came the console. "Hm...? A message."
Harrison opened the HoloMessage. Now I could tell you what the message said but then that would RUIN THE SURPRISE. Instead I'll just give you the reaction. Harrison raised his brow and his jaw dropped. "... them!? Hm, well, I guess the wargames were useful. Meh, casualties will either be very light or very heavy. I don't see anything in between."
Harrison opened a channel for the rest of the coalition. "Gentlemen, I am transmitting the coordinates. This is in fact an invasion, and what we are invading has not been invaded in... ever. The President is going to make a statement now. I don't know about you, but these guys from what I've seen are annoying large pest in the Universe. And, as citizens of the Universe, we should do our civic duty and destroy these pests."
He transmitted the coordinates. "Well, there you go. This is CNS Aralonia to every other ship. Prepare to go to hyperspace, today will either be the beginning of a new era of peace, or a giant f*** up."
The united uber fleet hyperspaced right out of the system, speeding and whatnot going WOOSH and flying! And yay! Gosh you can only get so descriptive with the whole FTL thing. Anyway! After a few hours, days, weeks, Iunno what have you. The fleet appeared at their destination... the border of the Sephiron Empire. DUN DUN DUN.

"BREAKING NEWS! The Cassiopeian Commonwealth has just declared war on the Empire of Sephiroth. The President, George Huntingsworth, is holding a press conference now."
George is shown in a fancy suit with the Cassiopeian flag in the background in front of many microphones and camera drones. "For too long the Sephiron Empire has rattled the universe. Every action so far done by the Empire is aggressive. We first encountered them when they sent one of their larger ships, called the Doombringer. They interrupted many negotiations we were having at the time with out nations and they only stood down when we threatened to blow it up. But, we have aquired information of the Empire. Not only is it an imperialist giant, it seeks to crush any small country trying to find itself in the universe."
He continued. "Diplomacy does not work with this Empire. Diplomacy and subtlety are words not found in their dictionary. They only know one thing, war. As such the Commonwealth and Her allies, the Minbari, the Hiigarians, and the Taaldani, will give the Empire war."
He sighed. "Due to the massive scale of this war, the colonies will have to fend for themselves. But the Navy will try to answer any distress call. Stay strong Cassiopeians, for the Star Navy is advanced, powerful, and quite sexy!"
The audience looking on cheered.
"Yes!" George shouted. "To war!"

Sephrioth Border System
The jump points erupted in space with the 22-ship Minbari fleet initially alone, facing off against the entire Sephrion fleet as the Cassiopeians and the Hiigarans were slightly behind. The battle formation was preserved, with the ships all in excellent positions to cover each other with defensive and offensive fire.
Bridge of Victorious
The battle bridge darkened and showed the massive Sephrion fleet aligned in front of the Minbari, with the Victorious sticking out like a sore thumb from the rest of the fleet. Shai Alyt Hedronn looked at his tactical officers and said, "Concentrate initial fire on the frigates. Fire the UGNC at the largest Sephrion ship, launch fighters, and prepare for the Cassiopeians and the Hiigarans to arrive. Our gunners are to target solely the wedgey ships, while the escorts take out their frigates and destroyers."
The crew looked at him oddly. Perhaps Hedronn had had a little too much of the Cassiopeian wine from the battle of Aio, but they obeyed his orders anyway. The Victorious's main gun did as much targetting as it could on it's own, with the ship adding the extra bit of pointing in the right direction. A massive yellow dot in space appeared as the main gun charged, and fired a beam wider than a very wide thing at the largest Sephrion ship in the area, probably catching several smaller ships in the process. The Minbari fleet formation stayed strictly as it was, to as not to get in a knife-fight with the superior Sephrion numbers. Dozens of gravitic neutron blasts cut across the void, connecting with their opposites.
Hedronn seriously hoped that his allies would show up soon, because he seriously doubted that his 22 ships could destroy an entire Sephrion fleet without taking serious losses..

Harrison smiled when the Minbari fleet was there first. He saw them as they fired at the Sephrion ships. As such it was his turn to give the command. He turned on the tactical holographic battlemap thing of doom. It would be an easy fight, the enemy only deployed 251 ships. Of course he didn't know whether it was half his Navy or just a small part. Nevertheless he brought 435 ships to the fight and by gosh he was gonna use them.
Harrison snorted. "Oh dear, look at this." He said. "Looks like we outnumber them heavily, and we have more ships. All right my fellow fleets. Today is the day you were trained for. All missile capable ships are to target the enemy frigates. All of them. Ignore the the larger ships, it seems the Minbari seem to be handling that for us. That's good. We saw them at Aios, they can cut through these Star Destroyers like a knife."
An Ensign ran to him. "Sir, errm, intelligence reports say that the Empire might invade Rosanica, might."
Harrison chuckled. "I don't think they're that stupid anyway. Besides we have a fleet waiting in the Commonwealth, didn't you see the first post? Anyway, as a flash video once said, fire zee missiles!"
Oh and the missiles were fired indeed. About 4421 hyperveloticy thermonuclear five hundred megaton missiles in fact. They wooshed from space, causing white lines from its rocket exhaust appear. They went fast as heck. Their target, with Cassiopeian doctrine, were the frigates. And by jolly they were about to feel the brunt of an angry Cassiopeian fleet.
Harrison looked on as the missiles flew. "Fleet. They're gonna return fire, but let's put some distance between them. Activate retrograde rockets, can anybody say, go backwards?"
The fleet started moving... backwards? Yes, backwards. And they went on and on and one until they had 400,000KM between them and the Star Destroyers. 100,000KM more then the Star Destroyer's effective range. As in, the turbolasers won't work as well now.
Harrison nodded. "All right then, now I have to wait for the Hiigarians and the Taaldani... where are they?"

[APPROXIMATELY 3 AU FROM THE SEPHRION FLEET AND HALF AN AU FROM THE WHYATICAN FLEET]
Exactly twenty-four hyperspace windows appeared near the Sephrion fleet, depositing the heavy battlewagons of the 15th Expeditionary Fleet into the battle zone.
“All units! This is the Hall. Open fire all guns!”
The supercapitals began to undertake a mobile broadside, turning and maneuvering within a square of space, point defence weapons tracking. Their capital turrets fired nuclear missiles in all directions, aiming to saturate an area of space the size of a Sephrion battlefleet with hypervelocity (read: 10,000 km/s) missiles.
Fighters and light frigates were launched all across the fleet, firing missiles, depositing additional warheads into the vast nuclear fury produced by the Hiigaran fleet.
Particle beams lanced through space, aiming at Sephrion capital ships, really, just trying to wreak what was apparently as much uncoordinated havoc as possible.

OCC: i made an OCC: comment. i have not made any IC involment yet.
This was the day that many Shipminds had longed for. To finally stare at the vaunted fleets of Sephrioth through the cold, impassive eyes of a targetting sensor array. And for Devourer of Delicious Souls, to stare at the hated neo-barbarians in this way was scintillating. With their unbelievable processing power, Shipminds spent most of their time bored to the brink of insanity. But for some reason, locking his RKVs onto the Sephrion warships occupied him almost completely.
He knew that the moment he fired, he would send a storm of metal flying across space to smash against the enemy's armoured shells, the shock of a hundred flares of nuclear fusion scattering the enemy like chaff before a hurricane, peeling away layers of armour, smashing skeletal superstructure that had suddenly been rendered fragile by the terrible atomic storm. Thousands of lives pinched out like candles to feed the greater inferno. But nevertheless, these men and women that he could pick out by their combined infrared were beyond redemption. The Sephrions had had their humanity stolen from them, forged into a hivemind that sought no peace and showed no mercy by rulers that they would never be able to change.
Godspeed, o shackled souls.
He fired, and the fleet fired with him, relativistic kill vehicles plunging like fishermens' spears towards the waiting foe, thousands of them rippling through space in an unstoppable wave. This was followed by a second wave, and then a third. And all the while the Taldaani fleet hung in the void, watching for the havoc that their attack would cause.
Two Kiribushi crusiers, the Katana and the Ninja-to silently observed from the cover of a gas giant, their shields activated.
the massive fleet was too big for them to take on and they glided out of cover so they could be seen.
the invaders would now know that they had been spotted and Samurai-Captain Midori Kasigi who commanded this patrol had made the point.
if they were fired upon the invaders would get more than they bargained for..
