Khorvania Factbook
History:
Khorvania was founded long ago by pirates, who used it as a haven and place to trade, drink, fight, hide from their enemies, and tell stories of their exploits. Soon, settlers arrived, attracted by the country's pleasant climate, mineral wealth, and large amount of arable land. In time, Khorvania became more civilized and eventually, a constitution was written and the pirates driven out of Khorvania's ports. By seizing and selling their ships and treasures and collecting the bounties on their heads, Khorvania became wealthy. The Confederacy of Khorvania chose to remain isolationist for a time to protects itself from those would seek to take its wealth by force. Recently, however, Khorvania has abandoned its isolationism and sought to join the international community. Khorvania was embraced by other nations, exchanging embassies and signing free trade agreements and non-aggression pacts. Khorvania also became a member of the United Jelly Bean Alliance, and received a large military aid package from Tocrowkia. Tocrowkia also stationed troops in Khorvania to help protect it from invasion.
With Khorvania's indepedence, however, came its first war. The expansionist nation of Kombra attacked Khorvania without provocation. The Kombran invasion caused a great deal of damage to Khorvania's cities through bombing and dishonorable and cowardly terrorist tactics. Nevertheless, Khorvania's army, navy, and air force fought a skillful and valiant defense, against which Kombra's bumbling tactics were no match. Reeling from its setbacks and defeats and under pressure from the international community, Kombra was forced to sign an armistice, ending the war in Khorvanian victory...
But this was not the end of Khorvania's early trials. One of its allies through the United Jelly Bean Alliance, King Toad II, was torn asunder by a revolution against the king. Khorvanian forces were deployed to the country of King Toad II, helped fight back the rebels, and thwarted a plot to assassinate the king. The bloody revolution ultimately ended in victory for the loyalists and free elections. Khorvanian forces had won another victory.
Some time after that, Tocrowkia, Khorvania's one-time ally, chose to return to isolationism, and withdrew its troops from their former bases in Khorvania. Khorvania bade the departing soldiers a somber farewell.
