Wittenburg Province, Derscon
Wittenburg Nightly News
The town is filled with celebration as the Kremlin finally approved the Orange Institution as a legal, tax-exempt fraternal organization. It is the largest fraternity in Derscon, over six hundred million Dersconi residents belonging to it.
Blazhei Voikinov, Grand Master of the Order of the Defenders of Solomon, the self-proclaimed heirs of the Poor Knights of the Temple of Jerusalem, and Chairman of the Grand Imperial Council for the Progression of the Protestant Faith and Tradition, a conglomerate of over fifty-three Protestant organizations and militas based in the castle here in Wittenburg, delivered a speech in front of the castle gates. Voikinov declared that the decision to finally recognize the Order was a decision that "showed the true determination of the Dersconi Crown in the defence of Protestantism, and is a closer bond for all of Derscon with the Greater Prussian Empire."
A massive parade, even larger than any of the previous 12 July parades, was held in honor of the decision.
However, a very vocal Roman Catholic community spoke out against the decision, condemning the Crown for recognizing a "bigoted, rebellious organization" and called for a reversal of the decision. There were many protest marches in heavily-Roman Catholic areas of Derscon, but the Roman Catholic population in the Wittenburg province is very small, and non-existant in the areas surrounding the castle.
Tsar Alexei XIV has stated that it would be wrong to supress the Order as "there are far more bigoted organizations recognized in Derscon. People have the right to their opinions, and as most of the Dersconi population is Protestant, legalizing the Order was the right thing to do."
Over the castle of Wittenburg, the flag of the Orange Order was raised in celebration.
